Part of the Crimson Shadow series, "S(a)TAN" provides the back story to the iconic character in the first novel, Stan, and how he (1) obtained his god-like powers and (2) knew far more about the series' protagonist, Xander Stryker, then one would expect him to. The piece itself is a symbolic retelling of the biblical fall of Lucifer (look for subtle nods to the original text) and offers a new perspective on the infamous tale.

This short story is actually one I came up with in high school. I was reading over some old stuff and decided to put this one up. My writing style has changed a lot since then, but I don't think it's too bad (I can't say that for all my old stories).

This short story is a sample of an upcoming book I'm working on. I will go back and edit to have more character descriptors, as when I wrote it, it was intended to slightly after the middle of the novel. The lead character, who is slated to become an FBI agent, engages in an act of selflessness that will eventually lead to the decision to train him. Caution: I made the decision to leave this story as suitable for everyone, it does contain coarse language that would be relative to the situation at hand, and one spot of minor gore.
