In August of 1969, mystery solving teenagers Fred, Daphne, Shaggy and Velma are mourning the end of their summer vacation when both Fred and Shaggy are drafted into the Vietnam war. For Shaggy, going into a war would violate his pacifist nature; it's kill or be killed, after all. And Fred is so terrified of dying that he doesn't want to go either. Daphne -- Fred's now fiancée -- would follow him to the end of the earth if he asked. Velma doesn't know a life without her friends, and she never wants to.
