I apologize, was supposed to add this after the last chapter since this is just short but forgot about it.
Star stares at me and this time I'm anxious. What would she say? She bears no emotion on her face and it makes my stomach churn.
"Marco.."
I look at her.
"Aw! You're so sweet," she coes breaking into a wide grin, cheekily grinning with her cheeks forming a dimple. "--I like you too!"
"Star, that's not what I----"
"Oh of course I know," she chuckles, brushing me off. "--we haven't know each other that much yet and I'm glad you like me as your friend."
"Star," I groan, looking at her in frustration for not understanding, for always misinterpreting things. I look away, pissed. "--I don't just like you as a friend, okay? I like you as a guy."
"You hear that?"
"I don't understand...."
"Geez!" I screeched, bursting a bubble. I glanced at her with fiery eyes and scowled, grabbing the hem of her dress and pull her close to me.

I wrapped my arms around her. Her head makes a soft landing on my neck while I hugged her tightly. I murmured. "Like this."
She could probably hear the loud, rampant beating of my chest and I could hear hers too.
She calmly pulls away from the hug, pulling me a few spaces from her. She smiles at me, but it wasn't reaching her eyes at all. She eyed me sadly.
"Marco I...you're a nice kid and all," she starts those words people say just not to deepen the impact.
But it's done. I clenched my fists, prepared to hear what she has to say, even though I know exactly what.
"But you're too young for me."
"Just because I'm two years younger than you?" I shakingly murmured. "--just because of that?"
"Marco," she calls out, reaching her hand to my shoulders and squeezed it gently. "---I don't want to take advantage of you, okay? And you should focus on what you like doing instead of pursuing me."
"Marco, I'm sorry."
I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath while I try to calm my bursting emotions. This sucks. It's my fault anyway. I flickered my eyes open, then looked up to see her eyeing me in concern. That's right. I'm too young for her.
Who could ever take a twelve year old seriously?
"You want some nachos?"
She blinked, completely confused by what I just said. "What?"
"I'm pretty good at it," I forced a grin. "---so, wanna come by and have a taste?"
She ponders for a minute, then realizes that this was just my way to shove my confession below the carpet. She smiles at me, trying to convince herself that the confession never happened. "Okay."
Maybe Janna was right. This is just a small crush. I'll just forget it.
Was what I tried to convince to myself on that very day, knowing that it held no truth.
