IT'S LATER IN THE WEEK, and I'm so tired. Brent and I haven't really talked to each other at all, and it makes me upset for some reason.

I also volunteered at the hospital three times this week, and I really like it. The kids are lovable, and Alec is okay too.

It might be my first week back, but I'm so ready for Thanksgiving break which in two weeks. Then after that, we go back for three weeks before getting out for Christmas break.

Lisa said something about a New York City trip for seniors during winter break which sounds fun.

I'm starting to get the hang of a lot of things in the Cade household. Like if you make food, you have to make food for Nick or else he will annoy you until you make him some.

Or when the twins watch a movie and they start arguing about something, don't get in the middle of it or else it will backfire on you.

And if Micheal has his music loud, you have to ask him nicely to quiet it down or else he will turn it up even louder just to make you mad.

I'm learning more about the boys, and it feels amazing. I don't feel weird around them anymore.

And as for the girls, they include me in everything, never leaving me out of the conversation. I can see why I'm friends with them.

The only person I haven't learned much about is Brent. I know that my memory loss is really tough on him, and being mad at him isn't helping either. I think I'm going to apologize when I see him.

"You should come, Campbell. Camping is fun," Gavin told me as we walked outside to his vehicle. The boys, including Brent, are going camping a couple hours away from Midville.

"I would, but the girls and I are having a sleepover tomorrow. Maybe next time," I said with a tight smile.

I climbed into his truck as Micheal walked out of the house, fixing his hair. His blue backpack was hanging on one shoulder as he walked to the twins' truck.

Usually Gaberial would ride, too, but today, he rode with Nick because he wanted a doughnut for breakfast. I seriously don't know how these boys aren't fat. If I were to eat the amount they eat every single day, I would be fat as a cow.

"Come on, princess," Gavin called out to Micheal as I climbed into the truck.

A memory hit me, and I gasped.

I was in the school, walking with Brent to class.

"Are you always this cocky?" I asked Brent.

"Only cocky for you, princess," he said, making my heart flutter.

"Princess?" I asked.

"Yep. That's you're new nickname for now on," he told me with a grin.

"Oh lord, help me," I mumbled under my breath.

"Campbell, are you gonna get into the car or we gonna stay here all day?" Gavin asked me, making me clear my throat as I regain reality.

I nodded,"Yeah, sorry."

I sat in the seat, shutting the door behind me. Gavin started the engine, and he backed out of the driveway.

"I literally can not wait for football season to be over," Micheal groaned as he put on his seatbelt.

"We only have two more games, one tonight, and one next week. Almost done," Gavin replied, driving out of the neighborhood.

"Are you coming tonight, Cam?" Micheal asked me, looking back at me.

I really wasn't planning on going to the football game because it is two hours away, and I rather stay in my cozy bed. But I saw the look on Micheal's face. He was hoping I would come, and I didn't want to upset him.

I nodded,"Was planning it."

"Awesome," he replied with a huge smile.

It grew quiet in the car, and I took my phone out of my bag. I put in the password, and I looked in my pictures. When the car accident happened, my phone was shattered so Lisa and Ross gave me another phone. I haven't really been on it because I didn't want to see all of the memories I don't remember.

But one glance couldn't help...

The last photo in my gallery was of Brent. We were in a restaurant, it looks like. He was holding one of my hands, and smiling at the camera. He looked happy, way happier than he does now.

Now he looks sad and dead. It's like the light went out of him.

I didn't even realize that we were in the school's parking lot until Gavin turned off the engine. I turned my phone off, throwing it back in my bag. I unbuckled myself, opening the door after.

"Hey babe," Madison said, walking up to us as we got out of the vehicle.

Gavin gave her a quick kiss on the lips before shutting the door behind him. Madison smiled at me, and I returned it.

"Are you ready for tomorrow night?" Madison asked me as I threw my bag on my shoulder.

I nodded,"Literally can not wait."

"You don't have to worry about anything. I'll bring everything," Madison told me before her phone dinged. She read the message, and she rolled her eyes at it.

"Sorry, it was party committee. We are trying to come up with ideas for the Winter Formal," she apologized, putting her phone back in her purse.

"Winter Formal?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows together. My old school didn't do dances, so all of these is new to me.

"Yeah, it's like a couple days before Christmas. We were going to do it after Christmas, but since the seniors are going to New York, we can't do it. Are you going to New York?" Madison explained in one breath.

"I don't know. I might," I replied, glancing down at my feet.

"You should totally go. It will be fun," Madison told me as Micheal and Gavin finished getting their stuff from the car.

"We ready to go to hell?" Gavin asked us with a smirk.

Madison nodded,"Yes, and it's not hell."

"I agree with Gavin," Micheal joined in, making Gavin smile.

"You boys," Madison said, shaking her head.

We walked to the school, and I looked around for Brent. I need to apologize to him.

"I'm going to go to my locker. I'll see you guys at lunch," I told them before scurrying away.

I arrived at my locker, and I still looked around for Brent. The bell rings in ten minutes for homeroom. Usually, he's here. I noticed he likes being early.

Gosh, I sound like a stalker.

"Good morning," a female voice said behind me.

I turned around to see the red head from Monday. She had a smile on her face unlike the other day.

"Good morning," I replied, uneasy.

"I don't think we officially met. I'm Clary," she said, extending her hand out for me to shake.

"Campbell," I replied, shaking her hand.

"It's nice to meet you. Sorry that I was prude Monday. I was having a rough day," she apologized, placing a hand over her heart.

"I understand."

"I must get going, but if you ever want to hang out, let me know."

She seems nice, maybe I could invite her to the sleepover. I don't think the girls would mind. Plus I think it would be great for me to make some more friends.

Clary started to walk away when I asked,"Do you want to come to a sleepover tomorrow night?"

She turned around and she said,"If you insist. Can I bring a friend?"

"The more the merrier," I told her with a small smile.

"Great. See you tomorrow night," Clary said before leaving the hallway.

I turned back to my locker, and I put in the combination. I put my bag in there, and I grabbed my textbook.

The bell rang, and I shut my locker. Looking around, I still didn't see Brent. Sighing, I walked my way to my homeroom, hoping to see him in there.

It wasn't.

But Nick and Nichole were, so I replaced my frown with a smile.

"Where's Brent?" I asked them as I sat down.

"He's running late. He will be here after homeroom," Nick replied, opening his math notebook.

"Did somebody forget to do their homework last night?" Nichole asked him, looking at his notebook.

"It might've slipped my mind, yes, but it will be done by math class, hopefully," Nick replied, getting a pencil out of his bag.

"It better be. I swear one of these days you are gonna get detention because of it," Nichole told him, sternly.

He shook his head as he started on one of the problems. For homeroom, I just looked around waiting for the bell to ring.

When it finally did, I stood up, grabbing my textbook. When I picked it up, I realized I grabbed the wrong book. I need my science book not history.

"Crap," I muttered before turning to face Nichole and Nick. "I'll be in class in just a moment. I grabbed the wrong book."

"Okay, well, you might want to hurry. If you are late, Mrs. Gomez will give you detention," Nick said, throwing his bag over his shoulder.

I nodded before leaving the classroom. I quickly walked to my locker. I put in the combination, and I exchange the books. When I shut my locker, I saw Brent opening his locker.

I took a deep breath before walking over to him. He dumped his bag in the locker before looking over at me.

"Hi," I said, nervously.

"Hey," he replied, grabbing his textbook. He looked exhausted, like he didn't get  much sleep last night.

"I want to tell you something," I said, fiddling with my fingers.

"What?" He asked, shutting his locker.

"I'm sorry for getting mad at you. I know you are just trying to protect me, and I should be thanking you instead of getting mad at you. Please forgive me," I apologized.

"I should be the one saying sorry. I know how much you hate secrets, and I should have just been honest with you," he replied, softly.

"Forgive and forget?" I asked him with a small smile.

"Forgive and forget," he replied with a grin.

The late bell rang, and our eyes widen. We quickly jogged to Mrs. Gomez classroom, and Brent yanked the door opened.

"Ah, Miss Cade and Mr. Mason, why are you late for my class?" Mrs. Gomez asked us as soon as we walked into the classroom.

"We are so sorry. We were talking and time slipped our minds," Brent explained, clearing his throat.

"Detention after school until 4:30," she replied, making my eyes widen.

I have never had detention before, or at least I don't think I have. Brent sighed beside me as we walked to our seats.

Detention couldn't be that bad.

Hopefully.
