sobs wracking my body

water grows cold
I turn the tap to the left
scorching.
heat licking my bare skin
burns my flesh
purifying.
my body protests at first
and then I adjust
soothing.
the water caresses my frame
a warm embrace
accepting.
my head tilts back
tears mingle with the warm water
gentle.
the water washes away my tears
the water knows my pain
empathetic.
the water cries with me
until I can cry no more
empty.
