Marques looked over at Zishan. "He's seeing his dad?", he asked him. Zishan nodded, still looking at the boy walk happily out of the room. "Unc is letting him", Zishan said, standing up and following Jungkook. "And where are you goin?", Marques asked with a smirk. Zishan looked back at his cousin. "It's my turn to watch him, so Imma watch him", he said. Marques looked over at Jungkook who was standing beside the man outside of the room.
Marques looked back at Zishan. "Aight. I'll come wichu", Marques said, standing up. "You don't have to", Zishan said. It was weird that Marques was doing this. He was usually really lazy and let other people do things that he was supposed to do. It is a suprise that he is so fit.
"Nah, I'm coming", Marques said, patting Zishan's shoulder. Zishan looked at him in confusion but walked out of the room with him anyway.
They walked up the hall, all four of them, until they stopped in front of a door. The gangster unlocked and opened the door to the room.
"Appa!", Jungkook said, excitedly. Minjun turned toward the door and saw his son standing there, surrounded by thugs. "Come here, Jungkook", he said in a hurried tone, waving his son over to him.
Jungkook smiled and quickly made his way to his father. Zishan watched as Jungkook skipped a little when going to his father.
"Hey", Jungkook said, reaching his father and standing beside him. Minjun grabbed Jungkook by his shoulders and pulled him down to his level, where he was sitting.
Jungkook was caught off guard by the harsh movement and looked at his father with a look of confusion.
Minjun looked desperate. "Jungkook, are you okay? Did they hurt you? Did they touch you?", Minjun asked, the last question quieter than the rest, as he looked over Jungkook's shoulder to look at the thugs who were staring at the two. Jungkook furrowed his eyebrows at the man.
"No, they have been nothing but nice to me. I like it here", Jungkook said. Minjun looked at his son with a look of anger. He almost burst a blood vessel when Jungkook said that.
"Jungkook, this is not a joke. These people kidnapped you and mean you harm if I don't come up with the money that I owe them in a few months", Minjun scolded.
"But I made friends-", Jungkook got out. "They are NOT your friends. They are nothing but thugs who kill and steal for fun. I should have never made a deal with these people", Minjun said, shaking Jungkook while talking. Zishan looked at what Jungkook's father was doing to him, not even caring about what he was calling his gang, and furrowed his eyebrows, stepping forward. Marques saw what Zishan was doing and stopped him by putting an arm on his chest. Zishan looked over at his cousin.
"What are you doin?", Marques asked. Zishan stepped back and shook his head, licking his lips after. "Nothin", he said. He had this protective feeling over Jungkook for some reason and didn't even realize it.
Minjun dropped his hands from his son's shoulders and stood up after seeing Zishan step forward. He thought Zishan was mad at what he had called them. He placed his fingers on his chin and his other hand on his hip, beginning to pace on one side of the table.
Jungkook watched his father do the action as he thought.
Jungkook realized that his father was right. These are gangsters. They hurt people whenever and however they want.
Jungkook hadn't been taking this situation as seriously as he should have and thought that he had made friends in the few days he had been there.
Zishan said it himself that they weren't friends.
Jungkook felt anger begin to build up inside of him. How could he ever think that these people cared about him?
They were messing with him, weren't they? Marques giving him that food, Zishan letting him bathe, Hunter saying that he won't let anything happen to him? Was it all an act?
Of course it was. They're thugs!
"We have to get you out of here. Are there any doors that you can escape from? Did they say anything about some sort of secret exit or something?" Minjun whispered to his son.
Marques looked over the duo talking lowly. He leaned over toward Zishan with a smirk on his face.
"They conspirin, ain't they?", he asked him. "Hell yeah. For asians, they ain't very smart", Zishan responded. Marques hummed in agreement. They laughed a little. Jungkook and his father looked back toward them.
Zishan automatically landed his eyes on Jungkook. He looked mad.
"Da fuck you lookin at", Zishan asked, bucking at the two and making Minjun jump.
They looked back at each other.
Zishan looked over at Marques and he looked like he was holding back a laugh. When they made eye contact, he couldn't hold it in anymore and they began to laugh with each other again.
"Savages", Minjun said as he shook his head. "What is wrong with me?", Jungkook asked. Why was he even comfortable here? Sure they treated him good but they literally kidnapped him.
"Hey, you tried to make do with what you had. It's alright, Jungkook. You just needed to wake up", Minjun said, reassuringly. Jungkook nodded.
"Alright, we need a meet up spot. What day are you planning on escaping?", Minjun said lowly. Jungkook tapped his finger on the table. He looked over his shoulder at Zishan. He didn't know why but his first reaction was to look at the man.
He looked back to his dad. "I'll try sometime next week. I'm sure they know what we're talking about right now. It's pretty obvious", Jungkook said. Minjun nodded. "You're right. Gain their trust and when they don't see you doing anything wrong, they'll be easy on you and then pow! You escape", Minjun said happily.
Jungkook smiled a small smile. He wasn't too excited about the plan for some reason. He was glad he would be away from these kidnapping gang members but it felt wrong to leave.
Why?
After the meeting, the boy was escorted back to his room.
The unnamed gangster had left Zishan and Marques to watch over the younger boy again.
As soon as the door closed, Zishan began to ask Jungkook questions.
"So what's the plan, chopsticks? You tryin' somethin tonight?", he asked. Jungkook was walking back to his little chair that sat in front of the TV but he stopped in his tracks and turned to Zishan.
"My name is Jungkook and there is no plan", Jungkook said, continuing to walk to his chair and sitting down. "You think we stupid or somethin?", Zishan asked.
Jungkook made a face and scratched the back of his head. "Kinda, yeah", he said. It was like this boy could set him off with whatever he said. "The fuck you jus say?", Zishan asked as he tried to make his way to him but Marques was stopping him. Jungkook scooted away from the two a little, fear kicking in a bit.
"Damn, calm down, Z. I always gotta hold you back, don't I?", Marques said, looking over his younger cousin's face. Zishan was still looking at Jungkook who was still looking at him. Jungkook then stuck his tongue out at Zishan.
Zishan turned away from the boy. Marques followed him as he walked toward the door. "Hey, don't let the anger win. He's a literal child. He stuck out his tongue for fuck's sake. He ain't even worth it", Marques said, soothingly. Zishan stared at the door as he calmed down.
Jungkook then realized that this man actually has anger issues.
Well fuck.
"You calm?", Marques asked. Zishan nodded. "Alright, you can take a break. I'll watch him", Marques said. "But I said I'm-", Zishan got out. "Take. A. Break", Marques said, seriously. Zishan looked over at Jungkook who was staring at the duo. He looked away from the boy and walked toward the door.
As soon as the door opened, Hunter was standing there.
All three of them froze.
"How is kook doing?", Hunter asked.
