Georgia Dawn. Beautiful name, beautiful girl. She's that one happy-go-lucky girl that likes the rain more than the sun. A dog at heart, loves people, is friendly and caring, and is overall happy.
Often, even I find myself envying her, despite knowing she's fake. Of course no one could truly be that happy.
The name Georgia Dawn could make anyone who has met her smile.
My real name, Sienna Dawn Giovanni, can easily make even the strongest most fearless men cower in fear. Another beautiful name that belongs to the same beautiful girl. But she's deadly. Like a wolf, she's swift and graceful, but she could kill you in the blink of an eye.
Both have the same nickname - Gigi.
And unfortunately, Gigi has to go get ready for school.
Sighing, I get up out of my bed and do my morning routine.
Brush my teeth, shower, do my hair, and wear yet another cute pink outfit.
Today I wore a loose baby pink cropped sweatshirt, high waisted ripped jeans, pale pink sneakers, and two french braids. I always wear loose tops, otherwise, my muscles would show.
Not exactly my taste, but it wouldn't make sense for a good-two-shoes happy-go-lucky girl to wear black ripped jeans, studded boots, and a leather jacket, which would be my typical go-to fit as myself.
I grab my backpack, phone, keys, and wallet and run downstairs for my breakfast. I grab two frozen waffles and toast them, then drowning them in Hershey's chocolate syrup and strawberries, place them on a plate and rush outside to my car. If I drove fast enough, I would have enough time to grab a hot chocolate from Tim Hortons before school.
I get into my typical Toyota, one that wouldn't bring much attention to me, and drive to Tim Hortons, just barely following the speed limits. I pick up my KitKat hot chocolate and rush to school, this time completely ignoring the speed limits.
Of course, I slow down when I get onto my private school grounds and park my car in the front, in my reserved spot. I quickly wolf down my waffles and grab my stuff and walk inside, just as the first bell rings.
I walk through the school, my head up, my lips stretched into a smile, as I wave and greet anyone who passes me. The rather annoying part of being Georgia Dawn, honestly. But it makes people feel happy, so I'd do it even as myself. Actually, no I wouldn't, that's a lie. I've got a reputation to hold, and smiling and waving at anyone and everyone would completely ruin it.
I walk into my first class of the day, art. Also my favourite class. I sit next to a girl, who had been sitting by herself.
"How are you today, love?" I ask her, causing her to look up from her doodles.
"Oh hey Georgia! I'm good actually, James finally asked me out! We're going to the movies later today!" the girl, Sonia says.
"WHAT!" I grin in excitement for her. Unlike many people in the school who only ever hung out with me for popularity, Sonia acted like a real friend. Popularity didn't matter to her, so I didn't act too fake to her. "Finally! It's been years! Hopefully it's a horror movie so you can hold his arm when you're 'scared'," I say winking as Sonia blushes.
"We're watching The Notebook!" Sonia says, her face still a bright red.
I scrunch my nose up in disgust. "But that's so cliche! Why doesn't he just go and bring you a bouquet of roses for Valentine's Day too, huh? Doesn't he know you like horror movies?"
Sonia sighs. "It's fine, I've never watched the Notebook, I probably should, anyways."
"Alright," I say, rolling my eyes. "But if James does that stupid yawn-stretch-and-put-his-arm-around-you thing, I'm going to have to talk to him."
Sonia laughs, "I'll be sure to tell you if he does. With your standards, how are you ever going to get a man?" she says jokingly.
"Well I'm already engaged, so I don't need to get a man," I say seriously, but with a smile on my face.
"WHAT! WHO IS HE!?"
"We've been engaged since we were born."
"But don't you want to choose for yourself who you marry?" Sonia asks in and angry tone.
"No, I'm fine with the engagement. We were best of friends when we were kids, but then my family moved from England to the US, and we haven't met since," I explain with a shrug of my shoulders.
"I still think you should marry who you want, but it's your choice," Sonia says with a sigh.
Yes, Sonia is Indian, and has the most stereotypical Hindu Indian parents ever, but she hates the Indian stereotype. Yes, Sonia is smart, no, being Indian had nothing to do with it. Her parents also know nothing of her crushes, because they wanted to arrange a marriage for her. The only reason they gave up on that was because Sonia made a deal with them that if she got all A+'s for the first semester of senior year, she could marry who she wanted to. She got all A+'s, by the way.
"Thank you, but I've already agreed to the engagement. Anyways, the senior trip is coming up. Wanna room?" I ask, taking the topic off of me and bringing my mind back to what we were talking about.
"M-me?" Sonia asks, shocked.
"No, I was asking your desk," I say sarcastically.
"But you could room with the more popular kids, why me? I'm a nobody!"
"If you ask me," I say in a whisper. "The popular kids are all fake. And you're a somebody to me! You're the only person in the school who hangs out with me for fun and not for popularity."
"But didn't Amber already ask you yesterday?"
"I turned her down, obviously. All she ever does is try to hookup with Matthew, Diego, and James and bully everyone in school. But now that I think about it, I probably shouldn't room with you either."
Sonia looks at me, slightly upset. "Why not!"
"Because you'll be rooming with James!" At this, Sonia turns red once again.
"Georgiaa!" Sonia whines.
I chuckle. "Fine, fine, I'll stop."
"But back to the rooms, I think I might room with Jimmy," Sonia says, referring to James with his nickname Jimmy.
"Don't have too much fun, and do use protection, okay love?"
"GEORGIA!"
I laugh loudly.
"Kidding, kidding!" I say raising my hands in surrender.
Just as I do so, the teacher walks in. Six minutes late.
"Bruh, the line at Starbucks was so long today, I couldn't get my coffee!" my favourite teacher, Mr. Travers complains as he goes to his desk at the front of the classroom. "Anyways, I have an important announcement. The school has decided that your 1B teacher gets to assign roommates from this class for the senior trip that we leave for tomorrow! So sorry if you'd already signed up with a friend, but this was a last minute change! I will assign them now, and explain why because I have no work to assign you today. Pay attention. First, Grace with Jenna. We all know you guys like each other," Travers says with a wink. "Jordan with Quinn, you guys are good friends. Brayden with Hannah, y'all are already dating. Imani with Cody so you guys can get over your stupid fight. Tanner with Esha because Tanner is too much of a player and Esha's boyfriend is in another class. Sonia with James because you guys will start dating this trip, you have no choice. Diego with Amber because Diego won't get with Amber no matter how hard she tries. And lastly," Travers pauses for suspense, but I already know who I'm roomed with. "Georgia and Matthew because of their sexual tension."
Matthew Sin. The bad boy of our school. He acts the way I would. Not cocky, but a loner, besides his three friends, Georgia (my cover), Diego Morales and James, yes, Sonia's to-be-boyfriend, Thompson. Matthew is a loner, he gives off a dangerous aura, he shows his power, and that is exactly how I, Sienna, am.
Matthew and I often hang out in silence, in places like the library or the field outside. We each have secrets, but neither of us are willing to share them. Still, it's a comfortable best-friendship, where nothing is expected of either person. I can't share my secrets anyways, I have Georgia Dawn's reputation to keep up. Georgia Dawn is a goody-two-shoes who is too friendly. If I ever met someone who is truly like Georgia Dawn, I would hate them.
Then I finally register the end part of what Travers said. "What sexual tension! There is no sexual tension! We're just friends!"
"What the fuck!" Matthew exclaims. "What sexual tension?"
"Whatever you say," Travers says, winking. "I have another announcement to everyone! Because I am a teacher, I am required to tell you to use protection and not have babies at the age of 17 and 18."
At this, the majority of the class turns a bright red, myself not included.
"Since we leave for the trip in three days, on Monday I might as well just give you one more class off. You can do whatever you want, but if you want to leave the room or building itself, raise your hand and I'll give you a note. I'm going to be going to Starbucks to get my coffee. If anyone wants me to get anything for you, just give me the money and write down your order. I should be back before the end of class."
When Travers finishes talking, I raise my hand, along with the rest of the class.
"Alrighty then. Everyone has raised their hands."
I leave the room immediately, along with the rest of the class. Unfortunately, Amber catches up with me.
"GEORGIA! OH MY GOSH! I'M ROOMING WITH DIEGO! EEEEE! I'M SO EXCITED!" she yells, gripping onto my arm tightly.
I wince, not because of physical pain, but because of her voice. It is so high-pitched it drives me crazy. It takes everything in me not to throw her across the room and run, but I have just enough self-constraint, luckily for her.
"Yay! I'm so happy for you!" I say with a fake smile. Of course, no one can tell between my fake smiles and real smiles except for me.
"YEAH!" she squeals again.
"Mhm, I'm going to go to the library to study, you can join if you want?" I lie, already knowing that Amber would go now.
"Oh! Um, sorry, I'm going to go hang out with Diego and get to know him. Bye Georgia, kisses!" she says in her high-pitched voice. I wince again, but walk away.
I'm obviously not going to the library, but I don't want to spend any more time than absolutely necessary with that bitch.
I walk out of the school, feeling pretty happy. I have my free period next, and after that is lunch. That gives me about three hours before I have to come back to school.
I go to Starbucks first, my KitKat hot chocolate done. I buy myself a Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino and drive myself home.
I've lived by myself since I was eight, when my father died. Yes, my 'mother' is well and alive, but I was and am more qualified to raise myself than she will ever be. The most she's ever done for me was give birth to me.
To put it simply, my birth-giver, Melissa, was a whore. I don't often slut-shame, but Melissa has no shame whatsoever. Since I was a child, she's always been fucking random strangers, right out in the open.
My father only ever married Melissa because she got pregnant with me after his condom broke. And only because he thought I could use a mother figure. Instead, Melissa only ever invited men into her husband's house to fuck every day. So, he divorced her and kicked her out when I was around six.
At home, I drop my stuff in the foyer because I would have to go back to school later and go up to my gym. Normally, I workout after school, but it would be better to do it now so I could pack for the trip later. I go up to the third floor and enter the gym. The mats and punching bags are worn out after me using it daily.
My workout is typically a one hour thing, but since I have the time, I decide to do my two hour workout.
Push-ups, crunches, pull-ups, leg lifts, burpees, treadmill, punching, and kicking are the exercise part.
Then my favourite part, the one I only do a couple times a month, target practice.
Gun shooting, knife throwing, bow and arrow shooting, and sword fighting.
Violent, I know, but I have to be able to protect myself. Why, you ask? Because I am the daughter of Blaze Giovanni.
Blaze Giovanni, murdered by a rival gang. Blaze Giovanni, previous leader of the most infamous and notorious gang, Pyro.
That's right, I'm the daughter of a gang leader, not just any gang leader but the gang leader. The gang gets passed down to me whenever I meet my dad's best friend again. After my father died, my 'uncle' Leo took over the gang, and he would lead it until I turned eighteen. I am eighteen now, but he has no idea where I am. But I still have to be prepared at all times.
Before I know it, I'm done with my workout, sweating and exhausted, but I feel light and free.
I shower quickly and wear another pink cropped sweatshirt and ripped jeans. I sit myself down for lunch, a bagel and chicken nuggets.
You can never be too old for chicken nuggets, and that is a fact. Especially the dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets. Those are legit one of the best foods ever.
I finish eating quickly, so I have some time to go up to my room to start packing.
I fold my leather jacket neatly. It had been my dads. It's one of my most prized possessions. It is a leather jacket on the outside but a soft hoodie on the inside. It has the Pyro symbol on the back, and it's a custom-made jacket.
I make a mental list of everything I'll need to pack when I come home again after school. With just enough time to go to Tim Hortons again for another hot chocolate before making it back to school in time for third block, I speed through the streets. Sipping my hot chocolate, I walk into Business class, just before the bell rings. Yes, I do have a hot chocolate addiction.
The teacher glares at me for being so close to being late.
"Yes?" I ask sweetly, giving her a smile.
"Nothing," she says, rolling her eyes and setting up for her lesson.
For most of the class, I tune out, having already learned most of this shit at a young age from my dad.
The teacher spent the whole time talking about finance, a rather boring lesson if you ask me.
By the end of the class, nearly everyone was asleep. The bell rings, causing everyone who had been asleep to jump up and run out of the room.
I offer a small smile to the teacher who truly looks like she's done with teaching. "Bye Miss," I say, having forgotten her name.
"Bye Georgia. Try to come early next time, yeah?"
"Sure!" I say, already out the door. Just one more class for the day. English.
We are in our poetry unit, and our teacher is going to give us all Shakespeare novels.
After discussing it for two months, Romeo and Juliet loses the already small amount of fun and entertainment it provides. Although that could just be me and my hate for things that are cliche and romantic.
My ideal date is going to a shooting range. Paintball would be cool. But not a cliche dinner or movie date.
I walk into class along with the rest of the class. Almost immediately, I know something's up. Never has my English teacher ever smiled that big. A pop quiz, maybe? Or maybe he finally got that date with the librarian.
"Okay class! Today, I've decided that we will take a short break from Romeo and Juliet."
I roll my eyes. He has a date with the librarian.
"I need your guys' help. I've got a date tonight. She likes reading and adventure. Where should I take her?" he asks nervously. "I haven't planned it yet because I need it to be perfect."
"iFLY," I blurt out almost immediately. "Indoor skydiving. Completely safe, there's one just a half mile away from the mall," I say. If I can prevent yet another cliche date from taking place, I will.
"Okay, what should we do after?"
"Take her to a restaurant!" someone else yells.
I scrunch my nose up. "Maybe a picnic. A restaurant is a bit cliche. Unless she likes cliche. Then take her to a restaurant first and then go stargazing."
"Wonderful ideas Georgia!" the teacher compliments, looking as if he was seriously taking notes on what we were saying. I almost laugh at that. The teacher taking notes on what the students are saying and not vice versa.
The class continues to give him ideas, and by the end of class, the teacher has a couple pages full of notes, including pickup lines, what to say if there's an awkward pause, and multiple places to choose from to go to. Even what quotes to bring up from her favourite books.
When the bell rings, we all stand up talking amongst ourselves and high-fiving each other.
"Good luck on your date with the librarian!" I call out, causing the teacher to blush and all the students to laugh.
"How did you know it was with Joanne?" he asks nervously.
"I've known for weeks that you liked here. You've been hanging around in the library and in her office for way too long. You also carry her stuff all the time. And whenever someone brings up the librarian you blush. It would've made me look dumb if I didn't notice!" I reply to him as I leave the room.
I rush out of the school as quickly as I can, and pick up yet another hot chocolate from Tim Hortons.
I am as addicted to hot chocolate as much as the typical high school student is to their coffee or tea. I can't go very long without drinking a cup of steaming hot hot chocolate. I mean, I could, but why would I want to? It's delicious!
At home, I continue packing my suitcase while sipping my hot chocolate.
Cropped sweatshirts, oversized sweatshirts, ripped jeans, leggings, oversized T-shirts, sweatpants, shorts, boots, sneakers, one pair of black ripped jeans, and my makeup.
By the time I'm done packing, it's time for my dinner. I order myself a small pizza from Dominoes with no toppings.
I turn on the TV and play the movie "How the Grinch Stole Christmas", hands down one of the best Christmas movies ever made and eat my pizza, eventually falling asleep on the couch listening to Cindy Lou Who and the Grinch's cute little friendship.
Holy fuck.
That was over 3200 wordsssssssss
