Third person's POV
Laying on a moving stretcher, having a hard time breathing. Sight getting blurry. A Doctor and nurses are pushing the stretcher he's on. He looked at the doctor, he was muttering words but Jungkook can't seems to hear him. All he's hearing is a sharp sound of a Heart monitor.
He stared at the doctor, he looks familiar but he can't recognize him.
He felt a hand held his, before his sight turned black.

After hearing metallic tools clanging beside him, Jungkook slowly opened his eyes.
His eyes landed on the doctor on his side, writing something on a clipboard.
It was the same doctor earlier when he was ran to the hospital.
"D-doc.." he called.
The doctor immediately looked at him. "Oh you're awake... How are you feeling? Are you in pain or something?" The doctor asked.
"No... What happened?" Jungkook asked.
"Well... You fainted on the street near the hospital, thankfully someone saw you before your heart could fully stop beating."
Jungkook looked away upon hearing about his heart. He has a weak heart, like literally and he's having a hard time because of it.
"They should just let me die there." He said, voice languid.
He can't do what he wants because even before he could start he's already weak. He lost his inspiration to live and his life became dull.
The doctor frowned, but later on understood why.
"You know... You can always fix a broken heart." The doctor said, smiling genuinely to Jungkook.
Jungkook looked at him. "Not this one... This heart is hopeless." He said pointing to his chest.
The doctor shook his head. "A broken heart can be fix.. you just need the right person to do it... Let me fix you"
Jungkook look at the doctor, a bit surprised. He sounds so sincere.. like he really cares unlike other doctors who only want him for money.
"Y-you're going to fix my heart?"
"Yeah... I'm a surgeon that's my job." The doctor said and smiled genuinely.
Jungkook stared at him.. that smile.. it's familiar to him. A smile that he would love to look at whenever he's down.
"I'm Dr.Kim Taehyung, You can call me Dr.Kim."

In just ten days. They became very close like they knew each other for years.
Jungkook never thought he would be comfortable with him, It was like he was an old friend.
Who knew a patient and a doctor would become this close?
They would talk for minutes whenever Taehyung checks on him.. even the nurse need to tell Taehyung that he need to check other patients so he would leave.
As for Jungkook, He always stare at Taehyung whenever he's in.. he felt like he knows him but can't seem to remember.
Eleventh day, the day of the surgery.
Jungkook was nervous as hell, he was so nervous that he locked himself up in the bathroom. It was already 10 years since he last had a surgery and it almost cost his life, it cause him trauma.. he never wants to experience it again.. he's scared.
"Sir, we need to get ready for the surgery.. please come out." The nurse begged, knocking on the bathroom door. Jungkook didn't say a word.
Taehyung arrived, catching the attention of the nurse.
"Dr.Kim, he won't come out." The nurse said. Taehyung smiled.
"I'll talk to him." Taehyung said, so the nurse nodded and left the room.
He walk towards the door and knocked twice. "Jungkook?" He called.
He heard a low hum from the room.
"Are you scared?" He asked.
There was a moment of silence before Jungkook answered.
"Y-yeah... I think so."
"You'll let me fix your heart, right?"
"Yeah.."
"Do you trust me?" Taehyung asked. But there was no response.
He smiled bitterly, nodding. He understands.. he really do.
Taehyung was about to leave when the door opened.
"Of course.. I trust you."

Just minutes further... The surgery will start.
In Taehyung's eyes, Jungkook looks so calm now. Wearing a small smile, holding the surgeon's hand softly.
Taehyung lets him do whatever he wants with him.. it's the least he could do to make him feel better for the meantime.
"I wrote a letter." Jungkook uttered. Taehyung looked at him.
"It's on my desk... I was thinking of maybe you could read it after the surgery."
Taehyung nodded. "What is it about?"
"You'll know... Cause whatever happens, I just want you to know.."

Heart monitor beeping normally.. the surgery was going well. No problem and hopefully none will come.
But it was just the start.. no one can predict what will happen.
"Scalpel." Taehyung uttered and the nurse gave him the tool.

.
"Suction."
.
.
.
"Tab."
.
.
.
Finally, it was the last suture.
Taehyung sighed in relief. It's finally done.. he fixed him.
"I'll do the suture doc." Taehyung's co-worker said, Taehyung nodded and took a step back.
But even before the doctor could touch Jungkook, the heart monitor gone off.. making a sharp sound across the room.
It's a cardiac arrest.
Taehyung's eyes widened and immediately pushed the doctor who was in front of him our of the way.
"Defibrillator!" He yelled and the doctor beside him immediately gave him the equipment.
He rubbed the two flats together and put it on Jungkook's body.
"Clear!" He said loudly, electrics then traveled to Jungkook's body yet there's still no heart beat.
He rubbed it again.
"Clear!"
Still no heart beats.
It was useless.. he let go of the equipment and did a CPR manually.
Pumping Jungkook's heart, shooting his head. Tears brimming on the corner of his eyes.
"No, this isn't supposed to happen." He uttered, continuingly doing the CPR.
"No.. please don't."
The other doctors and nurses could only look at him in pity.
"Jungkook wake up, you can't leave me like this!" He yelled.
One doctor came to him and pulled him away Jungkook's lifeless body. "Stop it Dr.Kim... he's gone."
Taehyung shook his head. "No I can save him.. he trust me, I have to save him."
The doctor can only shook his head.
"We can never save someone's life who's already gone."
Taehyung turned to Jungkook with teary eyes.
"Male patient.. Jeon Jungkook, 23.. August 31.. 11:59.. deceased." He said as he move away languidly, as if his energy was drain.
Walking away from the scene, not in consciousness. He just walked away.. not aware of where he's going, not aware of the people around. He just walk lifelessly away from the room.
He almost save him... Almost. But the arrest happened. He wasn't expecting it would.
Taehyung didn't even notice that he was already in a room.. Jungkook's hospital room.
"Doc?" A nurse, who was fixing things in Jungkook's room asked when he saw Taehyung standing at the door with a bloody gloves on. She immediately ran to him.
Taehyung wasn't even aware he was still wearing the gloves.
The nurse help him took the gloves off. "How did the operation go doc?"
Taehyung didn't uttered a word and just sat down on the bed, lifeless.
The nurse nodded, getting what happened. "I'll leave you alone." She said and left the room, closing the door lightly.
When she was gone, Taehyung pulled his knees up and hugged it. He burst into cries.
"I-I'm sorry.." he mumbled. "I couldn't keep my promise."
Memories then came to his mind. How he made a promise to a kid when he was little. How he gave him hope of saving him... Of fixing his heart.
~"Ggukie! When I grow up, I'll be the best doctor there is! And I'll be the one to fix your heart, I promise."~
"You were the reason I'm here... Yet, I couldn't even fix you. I'm sorry." He cries.
He didn't stopped his tears.. and even if he would, he couldn't. It's all gone.. there's no use of being a doctor for him... He couldn't even do the reason he became one.
Jungkook last words to him then came to mind.
His eyes spot a piece of paper on the desk. He stretch his arm to reach it.
When he saw the words he cried even more.
"I remember you." That was written on the paper.
"I'm sorry, I'm really sorry.." Taehyung keeps on mumbling.
Melancholic meetings can cause Euphoric feelings but will end up with depressing endings... The world isn't unfair.. it's actually fair because it's unfair to everyone. None excluded.
Fixing a heart can be hard... The Right person will eventually fix it but not everyone.
You might be the right person but if you had broken pieces too.. you can't fix someone, because broken hearts can't fix another broken heart.
And that was what happened to Taehyung.. he was broken for a reason he doesn't know... He can't fix Jungkook because he himself isn't fix.. he was more broken than someone he wants to fix.
