[ warning: this chapter contains a slightly explicit scene. ]

AS THE MOST POWERFUL VAMPIRE to ever walk the earth (possibly), Luna Hale had been training non-stop in order to create more combinations that would be of use to her if ever the confrontation with the Volturi becomes ugly. There was no way that Aro would ever let someone like her go. He'd do whatever it takes to get her. Therefore, it's very unlikely that he'll kill her.

Which puts a lot of pressure on the dirty-blonde vampire. The way they look up to her as if she was their bright, sarcastic hope. That she was the very thing that could lead us to victory. Hence, the intense training.

But even though how much she trained, there was still one problem. She was too stressed. She was mentally drained from all the training and her brain is something that they should focus on considering that it's the center of executing her ability. If she's mentally exhausted, there's a great chance that she won't be able to exhibit well, which has been proven already fifteen minutes ago, when Luna could no longer hold the storm for more than thirty-five seconds.

Therefore, for her sake, Jasper took his wife away from training for a bit and let her relax in a place she could.

"It's like it's been ages since we last went here." Luna muttered as she leaned back on her hands, her legs dangling on the cliff so far above the calm ocean, with her husband sitting beside her.

"We've been too focused on other things." Jasper said.

Luna sighed deeply as she closed her eyes, letting herself bask in the warmth of the sunlight on her cold, paperwhite skin. She glimmered, and as much as Jasper was well-acquainted with the concept of sparkling vampire skin, he was still in awe while he gazed at his wife.

"We should've gone with Bella. You know, be with Renesmee, Charlie, and Sue. It's been a while since I last hung out with them." She said with still her eyes closed.

She once again wandered to the thought of the impossibility of having children and the, unfortunately, familiar feeling of her chest sinking. It was the feeling that always haunted her everytime she would think of not having the chance to have children.

"You're doing it again." Jasper said when he too felt what his soulmate felt.

Luna opened her eyes and glanced at her husband, seeing him look at her in a concerned manner.

"Sorry." She said.

Jasper didn't respond to her apology. He instead continued to stare at her as a thought formed in his head. A thought that he wouldn't even consider doing in the past, but the image of her bright smiling face in that thought was more than enough to convince him otherwise.

"If we were human, and we have a child, what name will you give?" Jasper asked.

Luna furrowed her brows and narrowed her eyes at her husband, thinking about what names would suit their child.

"Well, if it was a boy, I'd probably name him 'Jesse'. If it's a girl...maybe 'Serena'?" Luna said, coming up with baby names based on her and Jasper's name.

Jasper couldn't help but smile at his wife.

"That's lovely." Jasper said, his gaze not wavering from Luna.

"Yeah, it is." Luna sighed. "Too bad I can't get a little creepy person inside of me."

Jasper smirked as he leaned towards Luna.

"It doesn't mean we can't try." Jasper said rather seductively as he leaned further towards Luna, making her smile and bite her lower lip. "Over, and over, and over again."

They leaned against each other's foreheads and the dirty-blonde vampire giggled at her husband before their lips touched.

His lustful tongue asked for entrance in Luna's lips, and being her usual stubborn self, she kept him out long enough to make him grow frustrated. He caught her lower lip between his teeth and he bit on it lightly, causing her lips to make way for his tongue to slide in and massage hers.

Their kiss broke for a mere second when Jasper lifted Luna's shirt over her head, which he decided to do rather than ripping it half since they'd need their clothes intact when they get back.

Her upper body was now almost bare with her burgundy-colored lace bra. His fingertips traced along her cold, pale skin before it touched the lace material of her bra. Jasper leaned further into her, laying Luna down on the ground as she tangled her right hand in his honey-blonde hair and her left resting on the back of his neck.

She pulled him towards her to deepen the kiss as he settled his body between her legs. She wrapped them around his waist as he grinds down on her, causing a moan to escape the dirty-blonde vampire's lips, vibrating through the kiss.

Jasper's other made its way to her jeans, fiddling with the button and the zipper as he tried to pry it open.

Luna groaned when she heard her phone begin to ring next to her. She ignored it for a couple of seconds but the excessive ringing of it caused her to pull away from the kiss and get the phone. Jasper, on the other hand, didn't let the call faze him.

"What?" Luna said as soon as she answered.

Jasper left a trail of wet kisses on her jaw and down her neck, the valley of her breasts, and her stomach before taking off her jeans.

"Luna, why is there a life-size cardboard cut-out of Stefan Salvatore in my bedroom?" Edward's irritated voice said through the phone.

"Oh, that. I—uhm—" Luna couldn't help but feel distracted as Jasper successfully pulled off her jeans and underwear. "Consider it as an early Christmas gift from me."

A yelp escaped Luna's lips when Jasper suddenly dove between her legs.

"What's happening? Are you okay?" Edward asked when he heard her yelled.

Luna couldn't help but flutter her eyes close as she tangles her fingers in his hair.

"N-Nothing. Yes, I'm fine. Can I call you back?" Luna said with still her eyes closed before she bit her lips, trying to suppress the moans that were eager to escape her mouth.

"Just come back here now and take this away." Edward said.

"Shit!" Luna gasped when his mouth devoured her even more, sending pleasure throughout her entire body.

Jasper fixated his eyes on Luna, seeing her back arching in ecstasy which turned him on a lot more than she already had.

"Okay, what the hell is going on? Let me talk to Jasper." Edward said.

Luna managed to open her eyes and look down on Jasper, seeing him look at her with lustful eyes before proceeding with what he was doing.

"Yeah...uhm...he's a bit occupied." Luna said.

"Why? Where is he?" He asked.

"Between my legs." She bluntly answered.

Luna could already imagine the look on Edward's face, or rather, the grimace on his face behind the call and she couldn't help the smiled that stretched on her lips.

"Oh my God, are you guys serious?!" Edward exclaimed.

"What, do you want me to take a picture?" Luna asked.

"No! God, no! Just—just get back here after." Edward said before he quickly hung up.

Luna practically tossed the phone away before letting out the moans she had been suppressing the entire time.

Jasper moved up her body and Luna had no idea when he had removed his clothes but it appeared that he too was already stripped of his clothes.

She felt himself slide inside of her and a gasp left her lips as she clings on to her husband, once again taking her to paradise as their bodies sparkled like diamonds under the sun.

─── ❖ ── ✦ ── ❖ ───

Luna was sitting on the porch. Believe it or not, it has been a habit of Luna to simply stare blankly at nowhere as she imagines what it would be like if things had been different.

If Renee hadn't dumped her in Forks, she would probably still be in Phoenix, wreaking havoc upon its citizens.

If Luna hadn't found out that Hannah was the real culprit, she would've probably murdered Jackie instead.

If Jasper didn't exist, her life, her world would be seriously and utterly dull. He was the only one who gave color to the sky, the land, and the water in Luna's eyes and she couldn't be more thankful for his existence.

She was snapped back to reality when she saw Alistair's figure at the corner of her eye.

"Alistair." Luna called out. "Where you headed off to?"

"Away. I'm afraid I won't be joining you." Alistair said.

Luna furrowed her eyebrows as she quickly got up to her feet.

"What? Why?" She asked.

Alistair recalled his conversation with Bella when he saw her packing for Renesmee. Unfortunately, Luna hadn't copy Edward's ability, which she was meant to do earlier but she ran off with Jasper. Therefore, she didn't know that Alistair's hope for what they were building here has been crushed the moment he saw what Bella was doing.

"I have my reasons." Alistair simply answered.

He decided against telling Luna what he found out. There was no reason to drag her into his hopeless mindset. They need Luna to even stand a chance against the Volturi. He needs her to be strong.

Alistair was about to walk away again before Luna spoke up again.

"I know what you did." Luna said.

He narrowed his eyes at the woman.

"The other day. You were challenging me, so I could have more access to my powers." Luna said, fiddling with her fingers while looking straight at him.

"I figured your potential is associated with your emotions. Apparently, your aggression is stronger than most. You should work on that. Aggression isn't the only key." Alistair explained.

Luna couldn't help but scoff at his last statement.

"I've lived my whole life with aggression, and so far, I'm doing great." Luna said.

She recalled all the times, the fights, big or little, that she went through and her aggression always gave the strength she needed to win all of them. It was enough to motivate her.

"I know. But you'll find something else much more effective." Alistair said. "Start with your feelings for Jasper, perhaps."

Luna didn't bother to respond. She remained in her position, a small, almost unnoticeable smile on her face as Alistair nodded and walked away.

As soon as Alistair was no longer in sight, she turned towards one of the large windows of the house, seeing her husband inside as he fooled around with Emmett. There was this big smile on his face as he hangs out with him and the others.

He was throwing air punches as he laughed, following Emmett's lead. It was the most adorable thing she had ever seen. This made her think about what he'll be like with their children.

An idea suddenly popped into Luna's head.

"Luna, what's this all about?" Carlisle asked as Luna dragged Carlisle into his home clinic.

"I need your advice about something." Luna said, acting all nervous which concerned Carlisle.

"Okay?" He said as he crossed his arms.

Luna took a deep breath as she looked straight into Carlisle's eyes. She had never been more serious in her life.

"What if I copy a human ability?" Luna said. "Say...getting pregnant?"

Carlisle unfolded his arms as a surprised expression appeared on his face.

"What?" He asked.

"I know it's a long shot. But please tell me that this will work. Tell me that the baby will survive inside me." Luna pleaded.

Carlisle couldn't help but sigh deeply as he approached Luna and place a hand on her arm.

"Why don't we take a seat?" Carlisle suggested.

"No." Luna abruptly said. "Just—just tell me if this is possible. If Jasper and I really have a chance."

She noticed how sorry Carlisle's eyes looked. That alone made her realize that what she was saying was impossible.

"Luna, the baby won't survive inside you simply because of one thing." Carlisle said, his voice holding so much care and caution. "You're not...alive anymore."

There it was again. The feeling of her chest sinking to the point that it was becoming painful.

"Your body can't change."

"I shapeshifted into a lion."

"And yet even though you are one, everything inside you is dead. There's no blood in your veins, you have no nutrients to provide your baby, you're too cold." Carlisle explained.

Luna swallowed hard. There were no tears gathering in her eyes but there sure were several sobs that were eager to erupt from her throat.

"Even if you do get pregnant by copying the ability, the baby won't live long enough inside you. It'll die and I know that you don't want to go through that again. I'm sorry." He added.

The dirty-blonde vampire slowly nodded as she pushed her lips into a thin line. She looked away from him, knowing that the man in front of her could see through her completely.

"I understand." Her voice cracked. "It's a silly thought anyway."

She lowered her head as she walked past Carlisle, exiting the room hurriedly and ignoring Carlisle's voice that kept calling her name.

Luna shut the door behind her after exiting the room. She looked up and that was when she noticed Jasper standing a few feet away with his hands shoved in the pocket of his pants and his head lowered, not being able to meet Luna's gaze.

She looked at him with slightly widened eyes, her lips parting. She got the feeling that he wasn't planning on speaking first so she took it upon herself to talk.

"How long have you been standing there?" Luna asked.

Jasper's head remained lowered. In fact, he didn't even move a muscle before he spoke up.

"Long enough." Jasper said.

Luna nodded and let her gaze fall to the ground.

"It's just—I just—" Luna stammered as she shook her head.

Jasper finally looked up and saw his wife on the verge of having a breakdown. He quickly took his hands out of his pockets and took a few steps before embracing Luna, pulling her into his body and wrapping his arms around her.

"Shh. It's okay." Jasper said, caressing her back gently as she took quick and ragged breaths.

"I just—I just want a kid. I-I want us—I want us to have a kid." Luna stammered against Jasper's shoulder.

"Shhh. It's okay, darlin'. It's all right." Jasper whispered.

Luna closed her eyes and let the sobs escape her mouth, hating the fact that she's a vampire.

She clung to him tighter as Jasper hugged her the same, kissing her head as his wife sobbed against his shoulder, the image of him, herself, and a baby in her arms making her chest sink even more.

─── ❖ ── ✦ ── ❖ ───

Spending Christmas with Charlie was the break Luna needed from all the negative thinking she had been doing. For a moment, she was smiling brightly like she was on any normal day. But unfortunately, the days have been far from normal. Christmas day was the only day she felt even relatively normal.

Jasper told her that he'll give his Christmas present to her after the confrontation with the Volturi. He said that he was saving it for after, so that they would have to surpass the conflict to know what it is.

But of course, after that day, it was back to her now depressed state.

They were now gathered in the woods. The snow has stuck to the ground, just like Alice had told them. They were scattered, standing like statues beside the tall trees as Benjamin impresses Valerie with his abilities.

Benjamin left Tia with one of the Knights, Owen. It seemed as though they have grown fond of each other. This gathering had somehow blossomed so much romance in just a few days. Benjamin and Valerie. Aurora and Embry. Kate and Garrett. Tia and Owen. It was as if this crisis was a matchmaker.

And Luna was happy for them. In spite of the danger ahead, they were able to find happiness.

Jacob grabbed some wood for the bonfire, which was a bit redundant at first considering that most of them are vampires and Jacob and Embry were werewolves who could generate more body heat than anyone else. But it seemed right as seconds passed by. A little pre-battle bonfire, as one might call it.

Jacob dropped the woods among the others and nodded at Benjamin, who held up four fingers, each with dancing flame and lighting the woods with it, creating a very nice bonfire.

"That's what I'm talking about." Jacob commented, rather getting along well with Benjamin.

Benjamin sat down beside Valerie, putting an arm around her which placed a loving smile on Valerie's lips.

"A little pre-battle bonfire. Telling war stories." Jacob said as he sat down beside Benjamin.

Jacob's gaze then shifted to the rest of the vampires.

"Or just standing there like freakin' statues." Jacob stated.

Among those 'freaking statues' is Luna, being accompanied by Jasper who has been worried for so long. Luna has not been herself ever since the talk she had with Carlisle. And he was afraid that this could affect her focus in the confrontation they would have with the Volturi soon.

"Name any American battle. I was there." Garett said as soon as he sped towards a log, sitting down on it.

Benjamin and Valerie, as well as Tia and Owen who sat beside them, and Aurora and Embry who stood behind them.

"Little Bighorn." Jacob answered.

Garrett smiled looking back at his memories.

"I came this close to biting Custer. But the Indians got him first." Garrett said as he holds up his thumb and index finger.

"Try Oleg's assault on Constantinople. He didn't win that one on his own." Kate said as soon as she appeared sitting on Garett's lap.

Another whoosh of the wind was to be heard and the Irish Coven was sitting on another log, ready to tell about their war story.

"If you're talking battles, you're talking an Eleven Years' War. No one does rebellion like the Irish." Liam said.

"You lost the Eleven Years' War." Garrett stated.

"Aye. But it was one hell of a rebellion." Liam replied.

Garrett smirked at Liam as he pointed his index finger at him.

One war story after another, they were all suddenly, and finally, gathered around the blazing heat of the bonfire, listening to each and every story that one has to share. That was when they were united for something much more than an alliance. It was as if they were a family.

"When we ruled, everything came to us. Prey, diplomats, favor seekers. Such was our power. But we never put on white hats and call ourselves saints." Vladimir told them before Stefan continued.

"We were honest about what we were." Stefan added.

Everyone was watching and listening intently as the oldest vampires in their presence spoke about their past.

"We sat still for a very long time." Vladimir said, glancing at Stefan before he continued. "We didn't notice we were beginning to petrify."

"Perhaps the Volturi did us a favor when they burned our castles." Stefan said.

"We've been waiting fifteen-hundred years to return that favor. We have been ready to do battle for ages..." Vladimir said.

The rest were somehow tuned out by Luna as she sat between Jasper and Tia.

There it was again. The feeling of her mind floating away from her body as it wandered into another thought that made her feel nothing but horrible. In fact, everyone had noticed that, especially Emmett and Edward considering twenty-four hours has passed and she hadn't pulled another prank.

Everyone noticed how Luna had gotten down. There was no mocking smile from her, no sarcastic remark, no witty prank, no ear-piercing shouts. Nothing. But not one dared to ask why.

Luna kept spacing out until she was brought back by the sound of her name being called.

"What?" She asked.

She found everyone suddenly looking at her, expecting her to answer.

"I said that we're kind of out of war stories and we think you should maybe play a song for us." Valerie suggested.

Luna couldn't help but widen her eyes at her suggestion.

"Yeah, I heard you are quite the singer. Your husband has been bragging about it." Garrett said.

"She's more than quite a singer. She's outstanding!" Aurora said, recalling the performance she had back on her island.

"Well, I say we should let her sing." Tia said from beside Luna.

Luna looked at all of them as she gathered the words that she wanted to say.

"I-I don't know." Luna simply replied.

"I beseech you, Luna. If we were to die tomorrow then we should at least witness you sing." Benjamin said.

"Jasper said that you have the voice of an angel. It's time to know why he's so hyped about it." Althea added.

Luna opened her mouth to refuse once again but the pleading look they all have on kept her from uttering a single word before she closed her mouth again, looking at Jasper.

"One song wouldn't hurt." Jasper said.

The dirty-blonde vampire took a moment to stare at his encouraging look before she sighed.

"We don't have music." Luna said, not really feeling it if she sang acapella.

Jasper suddenly turned to Emmett.

"Emmett, bring me the guitar." Jasper said.

Emmett smirked and went to take the guitar sitting in Bella and Renesmee's tent, giving it to Jasper as some of them cheered.

Luna looked at Jasper in surprise as he took the guitar from Emmett.

"You brought a guitar when we're possibly walking into a battle?" Luna asked.

"Well..." Jasper averting his gaze from Luna and towards the people around them. "We kind of planned to ask you to sing for us. You've been really distant. Physically and mentally. We just want to make you feel better. And I know, that music always makes you feel just that."

Luna couldn't help the smile stretched on her face in disbelief, not knowing that they would actually do something spontaneous just for the sake of putting a genuine smile on her face again.

Jasper gazed into her eyes as he started to pluck the strings of the guitar. The sound of the guitar playing caused Edward and Carlisle to join them while Bella and Renesmee went out of the tent, keeping a safe distance from them considering that Renesmee's human blood was bothering some of the vampires.

Luna clenched her fists gently as she looked at Jasper, nodding at her, telling her to accompany the music with her ever-so-angelic voice.

"It's been a long time since I came around. Been a long time but I'm back in town. And this time I'm not leavin' without you." Luna sang.

Garrett cocked an eyebrow as a surprised smile appeared on his lips, sharing a glance with an equally surprised Kate sitting on his lap.

"You taste like Whiskey when you kiss me, oh I'd give anything again to be your baby doll. This time I'm not leavin' without you."

Valerie smiled at Benjamin when she saw him widen his eyes. She mouthed an 'I told you' before they proceeded to listen.

"He said, "Sit back down where you belong. In the corner of my bar with your high heels on. Sit back down on the couch where we made love the first time" And you said to me there's—"

Jasper smiled widely as he strummed the guitar strings with so much feeling. When Luna was singing, he couldn't help but feel immersed in the song.

"Somethin', somethin' about this place. Somethin' about lonely nights. And my lipstick on your face."

Embry started clapping along to the rhythm of the song as he averted his surprised gaze to Aurora, who simply smiled at him widely and followed his lead on clapping.

"Somethin', somethin' about my cool Southern guy." Luna sang and everyone couldn't help but cheer as Luna looked at Jasper as she sang those lyrics. "Yeah, somethin' about baby you and I."

"Well, what do you know, the girl really can sing." Vladimir told Stefan and he simply nodded in agreement.

"It's been two years since I let you go. I couldn't listen to a joke or rock and roll. Muscle cars drove a truck right through my heart. On my birthday you sang me A Heart of Gold. With a guitar humming and no clothes. This time I'm not leavin' without you."

Emmett cheered loudly among the clapping hands as Luna kept building up her voice.

"Sit back down where you belong. In the corner of my bar with your high heels on. Sit back down on the couch where we made love the first time. And you said to me there's—"

"Somethin', somethin' about this place. Somethin' about lonely nights. And my lipstick on your face. Somethin', somethin' about my cool Southern guy. Yeah, somethin' about baby you and I."

Althea glanced at her husband Wyatt as they smiled at each other and clapped along, enjoying the music as much as everybody.

"You and I. You you and I. I'd rather die. Without you and I."

They were more than convinced. They were astonished. Luna had the voice of an angel indeed and none of them were getting tired of hearing it.

"We got a whole lot of money, but we still pay rent. 'Cause you can't buy a house in Heaven. There's only three men that I'ma serve my whole life. It's my daddy and my cowboy and Jesus Christ."

Everyone cheered and laughed again when Luna winked at her cowboy, making Jasper smile widely again. He couldn't help but be incredibly delighted seeing his wife smile again. It had been a while since he had seen her perfect, pearl white teeth resemble a genuine smile, and seeing it again made his non-beating heart flutter.

"Somethin', somethin' about this place. I'm a New York woman born to run you down. Still want my lipstick all over your face. Somethin', somethin' about just knowin' when it's right. Yeah, somethin' about, baby you and I."

The rhythm of the guitar came down from the upbeat tone and to the soft one as the song was nearing its end. And everyone leaned on their partners, enjoying the soft, angelic voice of Luna Hale.

"It's been a long time since I came around. Been a long time but I'm back in town. And this time I'm not leavin' without...you." Luna finished.

Everyone immediately cheered and clapped for her singing and Luna couldn't help but smile widely as a couple of giggles escaped her lips.

"Yeah!" Garrett cheered as everybody else followed his lead.

Jasper quickly settled down the guitar on the ground before pulling his wife into a kiss, earning more cheers from the vampires, and apparently, a snowball from Emmett.

Luna felt like herself again. The fact that everyone convinced her to sing for her to feel better was something that she utterly wasn't expecting from them. They cared about her and it felt great.

That was when Luna thought about what Alistair said. Aggression doesn't always have to be the key to unlocking her true potential. There are love and loyalty. And those were enough to motivate her into protecting all of the people that are gathered around the very bonfire they have surrounded.

Alistair might not be here, but he certainly helped Luna open her eyes. That was all the help she needed from him.

What they had tonight was nice. It was nice to have an amazing night with the people that they had grown to care about. It was nice to have something to hold on to as they wait for the danger to come confront them face to face.

─── ❖ ── ✦ ── ❖ ───

Okay first, Luna talking to Edward while Jasper is jskaksskskaks hilarious.

Second, the most frequently asked question is about Luna's pregnancy. If she's able to copy the ability of getting pregnant. I decided to address that here since a lot of you have been asking me about that. Believe me, I've been looking for loopholes ever since I decided how Luna was going to die. And there was none simply because of one fact, her body is dead. In order for the baby to survive inside her, her heart needs to pump blood in her veins, she needs nutrients for the baby, she needs her temperature to be not freezing. Which kinda defeats the purpose of being a vampire. So, no. It's not possible for Luna to get pregnant. BUT I HAVE A PLAN, OKAY. TRUST ME. TRUST SAMMY.

Third, I decided that since Alistair didn't help in the battle that I would make him someone that would help Luna realize her true potential instead. Which I think is amazing. We didn't see much of Alistair in the movie and he didn't really make a big impact on anyone, you know? So, I said, why not make him a relevant character here?

Fourth, am I the only one loving the fact that I changed the lyrics? From "Nebraska guy" to "Southern guy" and from "It's my daddy, and Nebraska, and Jesus Christ" to "It's my daddy, and my cowboy, and Jesus Christ". I LOVE IT. SKSKSKSJSSK

Five...the next chapter is the battle...AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH. The next chapter is gonna take a while because aside from the fact that it needs to be ABSOLUTELY PERFECT, I have school. So...yeah.

I can't believe the book's about to be finished...no, i'm not crying, this is sweat, bitch.

Anyway, I hope you liked this chapter!

xoxo Sammy
