𝐋𝐈𝐙𝐙𝐈𝐄 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐑 was only one (and a half) seasons away from her eighteenth birthday. That was her #1 and only goal going into the second half of her junior year. 2018 would be an even better year than the last. Mainly because there was a pinky-promise made by Happy Hogan and Mike Carter that they would take her to Europe to see the extended Carter family and celebrate the legal drinking age there...Happy may have taken the reigns on that one—but more importantly, Lizzie was hanging onto the hope that her older sister would show up for this birthday. Sixteen and seventeen weren't anything special...but eighteen? Turning eighteen meant that no one could tell her she was a kid anymore. Eighteen meant Sharon might come back. Eighteen meant they all might come back.
(Cue 𝐏𝐄𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐊𝐄𝐑) the spider-swinging sixteen year-old who had to wait a whole year and a half before he joined all of his friends in adulting. So not fun, especially when his alias just so happened to be Spider-𝐌𝐀𝐍! much to the amusement of his friends. With MJ fully healed and now sporting a lot of metal in her arm, Peter Parker wasn't so happy nowadays. For one, Aunt May wouldn't stop bothering him about her after Ned led it slip that she kissed him...it was a pity kiss, but whatever. And two, training with 𝐋𝐈𝐙𝐙𝐈𝐄 𝐅𝐔𝐂𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐑 consisted of getting his ass handed to him, and he was kind of over it. After a year and a half of partnership (not that Peter was counting) together, the teenagers were still working out the kinks in their relationship.
But time was not infinite, not to them at least, and partnership requires two people to make it whole.
