Isabel dropped her phone on her bed, and pulled on a jumper as she left her room and ran down the stairs to grab the door. Obviously, if it was Katie's parcel, she would accept it. But she planned on hiding it and pretending that she hadn't just to rile her up.
She flicked the light on in the hallway, unlocked the door, and flung it open.
"Tom?!" she gasped.
Sure enough, Tom was standing on her doorstep, a bouquet of flowers in hand.
He broke into a smile as he laid eyes on his girlfriend. Isabel launched herself at him, wrapping her arms around him and hugged him as tightly as possible, as if to make up for the past few weeks they'd spent apart. Tom reciprocated, nestling his face into the crook of Isabel's neck and inhaling her scent.
"Why didn't you say you were coming?" Isabel asked, still completely in shock.
Tom shrugged his shoulders, blushing slightly, "I wanted it to be a surprise."
Isabel shook her head slightly, still holding on to Tom as if he might leave for America at a moment's notice.
"So, I made a reservation at this place in Soho," Tom said, "but it's at seven, so we need to leave now. There's an uber outside ready to take us, so let's go!"
Tom took Isabel's hand and tried to lead her to the car waiting outside.
Isabel remained planted on the spot, and Tom looked back her with a confused face.
"Am I allowed to get dressed first?" Isabel requested, indicating to what she was wearing: One Direction pyjama bottoms, odd socks, and a Harry Styles sweater she'd bought at his concert the previous year.
"Yeah, that's probably for the best ― you look like a right state," Tom joked.
hello! I started a new job yesterday and it was so awful that when I got home I cried for an hour rip. I worked for the guy 3 years ago but it was a lot more tolerable and I never cried. as you may imagine, I'm looking for new jobs lmao
