Pop Culture Witchcraft: Harry Potter Magick

This is a form of pop culture witchcraft

This is probably one of the most popular things pop culture witches do. Using Harry Potter spells in your craft.

Here are some examples: Alohamora is a spell to unlock doors. Well you can say "Alohamora" in a spell to unlock a secret or opportunities. Or say "Expecto patronum" during a meditation or spell to meet your patron or spirit guide ot guardian, as expecto patronum means "I expect a patron/gaurdian". Or you can use it in a spell to meet your familiar (should i make a chapter on familiars?) or spirit animal

You can use your favorite characters wand as your wand.

You can use Avada Kadavra to curse someone, not with death, but so that they feel deaths presence (i mean you could use it to cause death, but that's not advised)

You can use your Harry Potter robes as your ritual wear (lots of traditional witches wear things like cloaks during rituals, spells, and ceremonies)

So in my pop culture chapter i mentioned pop culture spirits/deities. There are so many here in Harry Potter you can work with. You can work with Lupin, Sirius Black, Draco Malfoy, Voldemort. The possibilities are endless. You can work with a bunch of the mythical creatures in Harry Potter (a lot of them are based on real life magickal creatures that appear in old myths). Should i create associations for some characters? Because associations are very helpful with deity work and it will be very hard to find them for pop culture spirits

You can use Petrificus Totalus to bind someone, to stop them, to "paralyze" what they are doing to others

You can use quill and ink pens (i have a set that i got from the Wizarding world of Harry Potter that i use all the time)

You can take up tasseomancy. That's a big part of the third book and movie

You can use the old names for herbs. You may think that eye of newt is made up, but it's actually mustard seed. Here are some websites that will tell you the names of other old herbs http://www.tryskelion.com/herbs_old_world_names_for_herbs.html   https://witchesofthecraft.com/2012/11/03/ancient-names-for-herbs/

You can make charms, talisman, and amulets

You can use music in your practice. You can listen to Harry Potter music to get you in the right mindset for magick

Astrology. Hogwarts has an astronomy tower (even though astronomy is the science and astrology is the magick, but who cares.)

There are a bunch of characters named after stars and constellations like Draco, or Sirius

So I'm working on a pop culture chapter on the DC Universe. And i already have  some things in there. But i was wondering if there was anything specific that you want to be in there?
