I really like older names on younger people. Names that people don't really hear are just so cool and the nicknames for them are cool too.
I like Edgar because I imagine the reader saying his name in a soft and timid voice.
So don't say his name like in a stereotypical nasally nerd voice. You gotta say it sensually.
"Edgar." She said lowly under her breath. "Eddy."
His voice is low, his character is dominate, dark, mysterious, and oddly kind.
A refined name for a refined gentleman.
Anyway that's my sorta rant. I'm not really mad that people find his name funny. It's a old butler name. Like a name reserved for butlers...
But I just think that old fashioned names are so great. I'm tired of Zanes and Tylers and Zachs! Bring me a man named Elliot or a Bernard and I'll be set for life!!
