Ryuji POV
Morning comes and I get up from my bed. I grab my toothbrush and head off to the bathroom.
"Good morning Ryuji" Cap says
"Mornin' Cap" I say
"Please just call me Steven" he says
"I'll think about it, Cap" I say
After I finish brushing my teeth and putting away my toothbrush, I head out to the common room where I see Yami reading a book and Kris lifting a heavy looking weight with his left arm.
"Good morning Ryuji!" Kris says
"Good morning" Yami says
"Where's Nadia and Logan?" I ask
"Logan is still sleeping while Nadia went to the training ground" Yami says
"Well Logan better get up because we'll all be going to the training ground with Nadia. I already have our schedule planned out for until our first mission" Cap says as he enters the common room
"A schedule? Boooo!" I say
"You three all start to head there while I go and wake Logan" Cap says
"I have some stuff I need to grab from my room. I'll wake Logan while I'm that way" I say
"Then we'll meet you at the training ground" Cap says
I head to my room and grab all the things I made for everyone. When I get to Logan's room I get a smile on my face. I open the door and see Logan fast asleep. I walk in and take out a party popper. I put it near his ear and pull in the string.
"POP!"
"AAH!" Logan shouts as he falls off the bed
"Cap needs us all in the training ground" I say as I leave
"You could have just woken me up normally!" I hear him shout
I make my way over to the training ground. When I get there I see the rest of my team doing exercises.
"Glad you could finally join us. Did you wake up Logan?" Cap asks
"Oh I woke him up alright" I say
"Good. Since you just got here, you can start doing your warmups. Once you're done you can start on exercising your arms" Cap says
"Ugh, physical exercise. I'd much rather just work on my tech" I complain
"Well your tech isn't always gonna be around" he says
"I beg to differ" I respond
I do my warm ups and when I finish, I head over to the arm exercises where Kris and Nadia are. Eventually, a very grump Logan enters and gives me a glare as Cap walks up to him. I just give him a smirk as I continue my exercises.
Skip to end of training...
"Alrighty everyone! That does it with training for today!" Cap says
"Finally!" I shout
"Now we just do the same thing tomorrow" Cap says
"Ugh..." Logan and I groan
"Well, before we all go off and do our own things, I have some gifts for you all" I say as I grab the bag of stuff
Everyone comes over so they can see what I have.
"We'll start with my least favorite of the group, so you're up first Cap" I joke
He just gives me a look.
"I made you, a pair of gloves" I say while handing the gloves to him
"Uh...thanks" he says
"They aren't just any normal pair of gloves. When we first met, you had something in your costume that could call your shield back to you. Well, theses gloves can do that, while also allowing you to control your shield from a distance. You could be 10 feet away from your shield and you'll still be able to hit someone with it" I explain
"Thank you Ryuji, this will definitely help" He says
"Next up, we have Yami" I say while digging in my bag
"You didn't have to make me anything" he says
"Shush. Anyways, I made you a bracelet that will help you control your quirk. It won't completely keep Ares under control for you but it will help. And don't worry, it'll grow and shrink whenever you transform" I say while handing him the bracelet
"Thank you Ryuji" he says while putting it on
"Next up is Logan!" I say
"What did you make me?" He asks
"As compensation for this morning, you can have this. This bow is able to turn into a bo staff and whenever you fire off an arrow, it'll do a sort of homing action towards the target. With that and your quirk combined, you're basically guaranteed to hit every shot you shoot. I also threw in a few special arrows" I say
"I never miss in the first place. But thank you nonetheless" he says
"Next is Kris" I say as I pull out two rings and a pair of boots
"What do they do?" He asks
"One of those rings is for your sword handle. It's a lot like Cap's gloves I gave him except that you can't really control the sword when it's in midair" I say
"Throwing a sword...I love it!" He exclaims
"Next we have the boots. These were inspired by a fellow inventor friend of mine. They'll basically allow you to fly. Not as high as I can go but still pretty high" I say
"Thank you my friend!" He says while giving me a bear hug
"I can feel my bones start to crack!" I think
Luckily none of my bones are broken when he lets go of me.
"Now, time for your gifts Nadia" I say
"What did you make me?" She asks
"First, what's the magic word?" I ask
She gives me an annoyed look.
"I'm waiting" I say
"Sigh...Please show me what you made me" she says while gritting her teeth
"There you go! I made you a whole new suit. It's able to turn you completely invisible when you push this button on the side of your belt. It's cut proof, bulletproof, fireproof, water resistant, you name it and it's resistant to it" I say while giving it to her
"Wow...this is actually extremely useful" She says
"Talk about favoritism..."Logan mumbles
"Me? Favoritism? Now way!" I say
"Sure..." Logan says
"What can I say? I'm just fond of invisibility" I say
We all then split up to do our separate things.
Day of the test...
We are all currently suited up and waiting for Agent Frost to come and get us.
"This is our first mission so let's give it our all" Cap says
"Alright fresh meat, it's time to move out!" Frost says as he enters our room
We all follow him to the landing pad where we then get onto a helicopter. It takes off and we are all flown up north.
"Alright, for this test, you will get a choice to go in stealthily or go in guns blazing. Captain, since you are team leader it's up to you" Frost says as we hover over the testing ground
Cap thinks for a moment.
"Sir, we'll go in stealthily" Cap says
"I disagree, we should go in guns blazing" I say
"We don't have time for games Ryuji" Cap says
"I'm not playing games. We should go in loud because most of our team is suited for that. How many of us have had actual stealth training that wasn't required?" I ask
Only Logan and Nadia raise their hands.
"See?" I say
"The final decision goes to Captain" Frost says
Cap then thinks it over some more.
"Sir, I still choose the stealthy way" Cap says
"This is a recipe for disaster" I say
The helicopter flies around the back of the building and drops us off in the snow.
"Alright. Avenger, you'll quietly fly above us and give us the locations of each enemy and just general air support while you also guide around the building. The rest of you shall follow behind me" Cap says
"Try not to mess up" I say while taking off into the sky
I do as I'm told and give directions while also informing them of their surroundings.
"Whisper, Deadeye, take down those two" Cap orders
The two quietly take down the two guards in their way. The continue onward as they slowly make their way to inside the base.
"Hey! Over here!" An enemy shouts
It looks like Yami accidentally gave away their position.
"This is how I expected this to turn out" I think
"Our covers been blown! Avenger, give us air support!" Cap says over coms
"I'm always stuck with stupid air support" I say as I shoot enemies from above
I watch the battle unfold and I see Yami transform into his berserk mode.
"HULK SMASH!" He shouts while destroying the enemies
"I'll make sure to keep an eye on him" I think
"Shit! We weren't ready for this!" Cap says
"Woah! Watch your goddamn language!" I exclaim
"Yeah Cap, you kiss your mother with that mouth?" Nadia asks
"I can't believe you'd say something like that" Logan says fake shocked
"Truly dishonorable" Kris sarcastically says
"Sigh...You guys are never gonna let me live that down, aren't you?" Cap asks
"Only thing you should let down is that potty mouth of yours" I say
Somehow we are able to take down all the remaining outside enemies. Now we've just gotta deal with big green.
"Alright Yami, the battle is over so let's calm down" I say while landing near him
I see Hulk start to shrink down and see Yami come back.
"Man, this bracelet works wonders" Yami says
"Glad you like it" I say
"Alright, now we've gotta take down all the inside enemies" Cap says
"Hulk, I think you should stay outside and keep watch" I say
"Leave it to me" he says
The rest of us head to the door and see that it's locked shut.
"Stand back, I've got this" I say
I turn on my laser and cut out a hole big enough for us into the steel door. We head inside and make our way to the building.
"Whisper, move ahead and scout out the area for us" Cap says
"On it" she responds
She turns invisible and walks into all the other rooms. When she comes back she turns off invisibility and tells us what she found.
"What's the plan, Captain?" Kris asks
"They are probably ready for us, so sneaking in isn't really an option" I say
"I agree, on my mark, we all charge in and surprise them" Cap says
We all get in either side of the door and wait for Cap's mark.
"3...2...1...Go!" Cap says
We all bust in and start to attack the enemies. We catch them somewhat off guard so we are able to take out a lot of them before they can begin to fight back. Eventually, we take them all out.
"Mission complete, let's rendezvous with Agent Frost" Cap says
We head outside the building and meet up with Yami. We then see a helicopter waiting for us.
"Welcome back team" Frost says as we all get onto the helicopter
"That surely was something" I say
"How did you all feel about your first mission?" Frost asks
"I mean, it was just training so it wasn't that hard" I say
"I agree" Nadia says
"Well. You should probably know that those weren't actually fake. They were a real group of villains that the police will now take to jail" Frost says
"They were real villains?!" Yami asks
"Why do I not feel surprised" I say
"Now then, can anyone tell me who the MVP and LVP were?" Frost asks
"Sir, Steven was the mvp since he made pretty much all of the decisions. And the lvp is Yami since he got us caught" Nadia says
"Sorry about that..." Yami says sadly
"No need to feel sorry about it because that's the wrong answer" Frost says
Nadia gets a surprised look.
"The mvp goes to Ryuji, he tried to make plans and decisions while also having his team members in mind. The lvp goes to Steven, as leader, you need to keep in mind about what your teammates can and can't do. In the beginning, you should have chosen guns blazing since over half of your team isn't used to stealth missions yet" Frost explains
"I told you" I say with a smug look
"Sir, I'll use this as a learning opportunity so that I can become a better leader to this team" Cap says
"Good. Tomorrow I'll tell you all what your next mission is so get some rest" Frost says
We get back to the main base and all make our way to the common room. I decide that I just want to work on somethings so I head to my room.
"I wonder what Toru is up too" I say to myself
I look at the time and right now she should be getting ready for school so I decide to give her a call. A few rings later she picks up.
"Hey Ryuji. How are you?" She asks while a bit tired
"Just wanted to give you a call" I say
"Today we were given a day off so I'm just sleeping in" she says
"Sorry to wake you then" I say
"No it's ok. It's nice to hear your voice" she says
"It's nice to hear yours too. I had my first mission today" I say
"How did it go? Wasn't it a training exercise?" She asks
"That's what we thought. But it turns out that it was a real villain group" I say
"Are you ok?" She quickly asks
"Don't worry, I'm fine. Cap tried to have us take them all out stealthily but that didn't work out so we had to switch to guns blazing. I told him when we had the choice to go in guns blazing but he didn't listen to me" I rant
"I'm sure he'll start to listen to you more now" she says
"He better. Him and that potty mouth of his" I say
Toru let's out a giggle.
"Anything interesting going on in U.A?" I ask
Toru POV
"Oh uh...Nothing special. Just the normal hero training stuff" she says
Midoriya asked me to not tell Ryuji about his recent...discovery. He doesn't want Ryuji to get worried and have him fly all the way back to Japan and lose this opportunity he has.
Ryuji POV
"Well, I'm sure that things will be more interesting since we're almost second years now" I say
"It's pretty crazy to think about" she says
We chat a little bit longer before I decide to go to sleep.
"I'm gonna head to sleep now. Tomorrow we'll be finding out what our first official mission is so that will be interesting" I say
"I love you Ryuji. Make sure you stay safe" she says
"Love you too Toru" I say
I end the call and head to my bed.
"Let's hope that this mission goes a lot smoother" I think as I fall asleep
