The same night :
Jen : Brad!
Jen rushes after him into the living room, where he's walking back and forth with his face buried in his hands.
Jen : Brad... that wasn't...
Brad : It wasn't what?! What it looked like... what the hell was it then?!
Jen : I...
Brad : You kissed Jennifer! You kissed him!
He looks her straight in the eyes, clearly hurt by what he just saw.
Jen : I didn't kiss him! He kissed me... I had no idea that would happen...
Brad : Oh come on' Jennifer, you're not fucking stupid!
Even the switch from Jen to Jennifer, proves it.
Jen : I tried to stop it... I pulled away.
Brad : Please.
He begins walking towards the hallway, as he can't stand being that close to the man who just kissed his girlfriend.
Jen : Brad...
Jen runs after him, catching up with him before he makes it to the door.
However, Brad just shakes her off, reaching for the door knob as he knows it would be easier to walk out than to stay and face this.
Jen : Please, don't leave! Not like this.
Tears press on in her eyes, as she can't stand the thought of losing him again.
Jen : Brad! You have to listen to me. I didn't wish for that to happen! I mean... why would it make sense for me to kiss Justin when we're having a baby together...
He lets the weight of Jen's words hang in the air as he's trying to make sense of the situation in his head.
He trusts Jen more than anyone... more than himself.
Never in a million years did he think she would be capable of doing something like this.
Jen : You have to believe me... I stopped it Brad. I should have pulled away sooner, but I was in shock... I couldn't process what was happening.
So maybe everything she's telling him is true.
Maybe Justin really just kissed his girlfriend without her consent.
Jen : Brad... I love you so much, I would never throw...
All of a sudden, Justin comes walking towards them with a shameful look on his face.
Brad : I believe you.
Jen : What?
And before she gets the chance to react, she sees Brad making his way over to him, full of nothing but rage.
Justin : Woah... Brad. I didn't...
Within seconds Justin hits the floor, after Brad makes a fist and practically decks him right in the face.
Jen : Brad!
Brad : You think you can just kiss her whenever you'd like, huh? While I'm in the other room!
Justin : It just happened! I didn't...
The two guys are wrestling on the floor as Justin's trying to get away and Brad's making sure he doesn't.
Jen : Stop it. Guys!
Jen runs over to them, pulling Brad up to prevent him from doing Justin any more damage.
Jen : Get off of him!
Justin gets up, taking a few steps away from them as Jen's got a grip around Brad making sure he calms down.
Justin : Fuck.
He wipes the blood on his lip away with his hand, before picking his beanie up from the floor.
Brad : I don't ever want to see your face in this house again! Is that understood?
As Justin can't help but want to trigger Brad, he turns to look at him with a conceited smile painted on his face.
Justin : Technically Brad... this is my house. Not yours.
Brad turns to Jen, his eyes still filled with rage, waiting for her to say something.
Jen : Justin I want you to leave.
There's an awkward moment between the two as they're just staring at each other, as neither expected she'd one day kick him out of the house they once built together.
Jen : Justin. Please, leave.
Jen hits him with her "please, do this for me" face, as he doesn't answer.
Hoping there's still some sense left in him.
Justin : Okay.
He whistles at Kuma, who comes running up to him, before walking slowly approaching the door.
Justin : I'm sorry Jen. I'm very sorry.
He turns to look at her one more time, before he finally walks out of the house.
Jen sighs as the door shuts closed, letting her head fall on Brad's chest.
Brad : Are you okay?
Jen : Yes.
He wraps his arms around her, stroking her back as he can tell she's still shaken up by this.
Jen : I'm sorry. I'm so very sorry.
Brad : Hey. It's not your fault.
Noticing how his shirt is ripped she looks up at him, lifting her eyebrow.
Jen : Did he hurt you?
Brad : Not as bad as I hurt him.
Jen : Oh, shut up.
She laughs, before pulling him in tighter.
Later that night :
Brad : Are you asleep?
As it's past midnight, Brad himself would usually be asleep at this point, but he just can't stop thinking about what happened today.
Jen : No.
Brad : Can I ask you something.
She sits up, facing him as she too can't seem to get it out of her head.
Brad : Do you still have feelings for Justin?
Jen : Brad...
Brad : I just want you to answer.
Jen nods, although the fact that he needs to ask is worrying her.
Jen : No. I don't... of course I don't.
Brad : Okay. I just needed to hear you say it.
As she can tell he still needs some convincing, she takes a deep breath before moving closer to him.
Jen : Brad?
Brad : Yeah.
Jen : I love you.
He gives her a half smile before leaning in, kissing the side of her head.
Brad : I love you too baby.
The next morning :
Courteney : He what?!
Amanda : No...
As it's Sunday, Jen's met up with Courteney and Amanda for their weekly lunch.
Jen : I know. I'm still in shock of what happened.
Courteney : Do you think... he's still got feelings for you?
Jen : No... or, he's never shown any signs of it before.
Amanda : Maybe he does and that's why he still hasn't found anyone new.
Jen : He's been with women though...
Amanda : But it hasn't lasted.
Jen sighs, while taking a bite of her salad not knowing how she'll ever be able to speak to him again.
Courteney : How did Brad react?
As she imagines their fight yesterday, she can't help but laugh.
Jen : He literally punched him.
Amanda : What?!
Jen : Yes, I had to pull him off of him.
Courteney : Well... it's not the first time you've had two guys fight over you.
Court and Amanda laugh as it's no secret Jen's been popular among the guys throughout the years.
Amanda : So it's all good between you and Brad now?
Jen : Well... he kind of scared me yesterday.
Courteney : Why? Because he beat up Justin?
Amanda starts laughing again, almost spitting out her wine.
Jen : No, cause he asked me this question...
Courteney : What?
Jen : He asked me if I still had feelings for Justin.
Amanda : Well you obviously don't. Right?
Jen : Of course not... and that's what I told him, but it's the fact that he had to ask.
Courteney : Maybe he just needed reassurance.
Jen : Yeah, that's what worries me.
Two hours later :
Jen : Hey Brad.
Jen walks into the living room, throwing herself down next to him on the couch.
Jen : What you doin'?
Noticing how he's laughing at something on his phone, she puts her glasses on taking a closer look.
Brad : Look at this!
He shows her two dogs dressed up in some kind of Halloween costume, which makes her giggle too as they remind her of Dolly.
Jen : I actually wanted to talk to you about something.
He turns to look at her, laying his phone on the table as he can tell it might be serious.
Brad : It isn't about yesterday is it?
Jen : No... it's not about that.
Brad : Okay... cause I really just rather forget about it.
Jen : It's about the baby thing.
He sighs, as he suspects what comes next.
Brad : Jen... we don't have to put this on hold because of him.
Jen : What?
Not following as that wasn't what she was about to say at all, she furrows her brow.
Brad : Wasn't that...
Jen : Why are you acting as if I'm doubt... of like our whole relationship all of a sudden.
Brad : I... I just thought...
Jen : I was gonna tell you that I'm booking a meeting with the surrogacy center later this week.
Brad : Oh.
He looks down, staring at his feet.
Jen : Brad... you know I'm here to stay right? I'm not gonna run off or change my mind.
Brad : I know.
Jen : It doesn't sound like it... by what you just said. And also what you asked me last night.
Brad : I just... we're in such a good place, it almost seems too good to be true. I'm just afraid that something will happen...
Jen : What?
Brad : That we'll ruin it somehow. That we'll lose it.
Jen : It won't.
Jen takes his hands in hers, before laying her head on his shoulder.
Jen : It won't honey.
