Shuichi's POV- it finally happened he asked me out. Shuichi thought for the fourth time that day, he was still in shock that Rantaro asked him out. He still wasn't fully convinced he was prepared for this date but with Kaede's advice he felt a bit more confident.
It was about 5'O O'Clock, only two more hours until his and Rantaro's date. He didn't really know what they would be doing since he had never been on a date, and Rantaro told him he wanted it to be a surprise.
He went over Kaede's texts again, doing his best to memorize them so he wouldn't be looking at his phone too much.While going over the texts he tried to think about what to wear, all of this was so new to him. He just hoped everything would go well.
Shuichi eventually decided to wear his normal black and white striped outfit, including his hat. Shuichi thought that if he had his hat then he could hide his blush much easier than without it.
Without realizing the time Shuichi heard a knock on his front door and jumped.He scurried down the stairs and tripped while opening the door, he fell flat on his face and when he looked up he saw Rantaro waiting there
"UHHH HELLO THERE" Shuichi said trying to regain his confidence
"I had a feeling something like this would happen" Rantaro laughed while helping Shuichi up
"Are you ready to go" Rantaro questioned
"Yeah i'm as ready as i'll ever be I guess" Shuichi laughed awkwardly still embarrassed by his previous slip up
Rantaro was wearing comfy clothes- a cute light green sweater with an avocado in the middle with some black jeans.
Shuichi and Rantaro went in Rantaro's car and began to go somewhere, Shuichi zoned out trying to think about the advice Kaede gave him earlier. He was scared to mess up for the second time that day.The drive was silent for the first but after Shuichi regained his confidence they began to chat until they arrived.
They arrived at a skating rink, Shuichi didn't quite know how to skate but he knew he could trust Rantaro to teach him.They got their skates and Shuichi didn't really know what to do, he just sat there nervously as Rantaro tied up his own skates
"everything okay over there" Rantaro questioned
"YEAH TOTALLY" Shuichi lied
Rantaro knew he needed help so he went over and tied Shuichi's skates for him.While this was happening a group of girls were whispering and pointing at them, Shuichi began to get a bit nervous.
"all done!" Rantaro beamed looking up from Shuichi's skates
"ah thank you" Shuichi replied still distracted by the girls
Rantaros POV-
Rantaro grabbed Shuichi's hand and led him onto the ice, holding him tightly so he didn't drop him.Rantaro thought Shuichi seemed a bit off and asked "is everything okay?"
but before Shuichi could respond a group of girls came up to them, Shuichi and Rantaro quizzically looked at each other.One of the girls stepped forward, she appeared to be blushing.
"Uh is there anything I can help you with?" Rantaro queried an eyebrow at them.
"Actually there is uh, would you mind stepping away from your friend for a minute?"
you could hear her friends in the background laughing and whispering that she was really gonna do it. Rantaro winced at the "friend" comment, he wished he could put the boy in front of it...
Rantaro didn't like this one bit, "I'm sorry but I can't really move right now I'm kinda helping him" he said while pointing to Shuichi
"I mean he could always just stay here with my friends!"
Shuichi nervously glanced at Rantaro-he gave him the kinda look like leave me here and I'll die
"yeah! We don't bite!" Her friends commented
Rantaro knew Shuichi had a submissive personality and wouldn't say no, so he decided to help.
"sorry i'm not comfortable leaving him so whatever you want to tell me, he can stay for it" Rantaro commented as he heard a sigh of relief come out of Shuichi
"fine I guess he can stay" she said giving Shuichi a weird look
"can you make this quick, were kinda busy" Rantaro told her
"oh uh I was wondering if maybe.. you wanna ditch this place and come to uh a special party" the girl said
"what kind of party?" Rantaro questioned
"well all my friends were bringing their boyfriends and I can't be the only one there without one, so will you go with me"
"uh I hate to break it to you but this one here is actually my" Rantaro cut himself off before accidentally saying boyfriend
"hes?"
"he's my date is what I meant, me and him are on a date"
"oh well that's okay! he can be our third wheel"
"I don't think so"
"why not"
there was no heterosexual explanation he could give her on why he needed to stay with Shuichi so badly
he was about to respond when she pulled on his jacket
"CMON LETS GO" she said while grabbing them
"H-HUH"?! Shuichi squealed as He,The Girl, and Rantaro fell. The girl fell behind them and Rantaro fell in front of her with Shuichi sitting on his lap,
"Shuichi are you okay?!" Rantaro asked while looking at him and making sure he had no cuts or bruises.
"i-im okay but uh can we go to a different rink"
"yeah they have other ones here, i'm gonna help you get up okay?" Rantaro told him
Rantaro slowly got up and then helped Shuichi
"HEY WHAT ABOUT ME" the girl squealed making a scene
Rantaro ignored her and grabbed Shuichi's hand and pulled him over to the other side of the rink
"Shuichi I want you to stay here, if anything and I mean ANYTHING happens call me immediately i'm gonna go check us into another rink"
him and Shuichi got out of the rink and Shuichi sat on one of the benchers while Rantaro left to quickly check them out.
Shuichi's POV- Shuichi let out a large sigh, thank god that's over, what was up with those girls anyway Rantaro was clearly uncomfortable he thought
he looked up from the ground and glanced at the rink, only to see the same girls giving him a death stare. he thought they were skating closer and began to panic.He called Rantaro's number, but then he heard a ringtone from somewhere in the rink, the girl had stolen Rantaro's phone out of his pocket.The girls began to approach him, shuichi began to sweat a bit.
The girls stood in front of him and he just stared down at his phone
"I can't believe you would do that to OUR friend, like can't you see she likes him" the group stated in disbelief
Shuichi gave no response
"HEY EMO CAN YOU HEAR ME"
Shuichi began to get agitated
They were about to do something else when Rantaro quickly slipped in, "need saving princess?" , Shuichi blushed at the nick name
Rantaro looked at his phone in their hands and grabbed it, he put it in his pocket and then picked up shuichi bridal style
The girls stood their in disbelief at the rejection from Rantaro
"RANTARO PUT ME DOWN" Shuichi blushed
"No way" Rantaro smiled
Rantaro carried him all the way to the next rink, it was empty so it was perfect for them, Rantaro had told the manager about the girls and how they were ruining their date and luckily they decided to let them have a rink to themselves.
Rantaro helped Shuichi on the ice once more, and held his hand tightly. After a while Shuichi started to get the hang of it so Rantaro was about to let go of his hand but then he was faced with a pouting Shuichi so he didn't.
So there they were skating hand in hand around, talking about anything and everything.
After they finished skating they turned in their skates and Rantaro took Shuichi out for hot chocolate.
Rantaros POV- I got me and Shuichi a hot chocolate, and then I thought of something I could say...
"Hey Shuichi"
"Yeah?"
"So uh That hot chocolate is hot but not as hot as you"
Okay yeah that was really cringey but y'know what I have no regrets
Shuichi just blushed at the comment and looked away
After the two finished their hot chocolates Rantaro invited Shuichi to stay at his house for a couple of days and Shuichi happily agreed.
