Remus did end up pulling James throughout the castle as far away from the two of you as possible.
"Oh, I see we're giving them privacy so they can love each other in their own company." He said looking at Remus as his arm was being pulled through the school.
"I thought you were the smart one James they aren't in love."
"But you heard him last night didn't you. He talked about this girl the same way I talk about Lily flower. That's not like him so who else could it be." James said tugging his arm away from Remus and crossing them.
Remus however was not having it and grabbed his arm again and pulled him a little longer until he was met with Lily.
"Hey, have you seen y/n anywhere? I know she skipped class but I've been looking for her in all the places she could have runoff too. She ran off with Sirius didn't she?" Lily asked.
"Yes she did now..." he was cut off by a smiling James.
"They are sleeping in each other's arms Lily!" He yelled.
"Wait what!" Lily said running off. It wasn't like Lily to get too involved in drama but since you were friends she had to see this.
Now Remus had another person to chase. He may or may not have pushed James into an empty closet and locked it. He wasn't stupid enough to let him have his wand so he took it before locking the door.
He was now chasing after Lily as she ran through the halls to get to the Gryffindor common room.
"Lily don't!" He started as she just laughed at him. "Lily I swear it's not how James makes it out to
Be. They don't like each other."
"I don't care. This is going to be adorable so I want to see it."
To Remus' dismay, she had made it to the common room now staring at the two of you sleep in each other's arms with your head tucked under his chin.
"Oh Remus you can't tell me that they aren't in love do you see them." She said pointing at the two of you.
"Merlin Lily you are just as bad as James. Leave them alone let's go. If you would be so kind to help me with James and keeping him away from Sirius and her that would be great."
"Only if you tell me who you were talking about during your little crush gossip session last night."
"You want to know the truth, Lily? I don't have a crush I just didn't want to have the boys talk about their crushes and then have me not say anything. It would be unfair."
"I don't believe you. If I help you with James you're going to take verituserum. Okay?"
"Fine but you're not going to get anything out of me."
She still seemed content with that answer and started running back to where James was last seen.
"Where did he go?" She asked seeming a little concerned they might have to go through the whole castle to find him.
"Oh about that.." he said as he took out his wand and unlocked the door which opened to a sulking James.
"You came back for me my dear friend."
"I know I'm great," Remus said sarcastically.
"Wasn't talking to you. You traitor!" He said standing by Lily. "Did you see them sleeping in each other's arms Lily? It was adorable wasn't it?!" He continued.
"It was so adorable. I'm on your side he has to like her." She answered whispering the last part of the statement so Remus couldn't hear.
"I can't deal with you two much longer." He said semi sarcastically.
"Come in guys we're gonna go make a potion."
"Ooh, what potion?" James asked following behind.
"Well, Remus said he didn't actually have a crush he just said it so that you two wouldn't be any try you spilled all your secrets but he didn't spill any of his. So he lied about liking someone."
"Wow, Remus. You have so many traitor tendencies. Only joking." He said punching Remus in the arm lightly.
They walked down to the potions classroom and Lily of course was immediately quickly making the potion.
She whipped it up in an unreasonably quick amount of time and handed the vial full of potion over to Remus.
"Drink up Remus."
"Cheers!" He said annoyed for he knew that the truth serum wouldn't get anything out of him. He had nothing to tell.
"Who do you like?"
"I told you Lily I don't like anybody." He stated with no hesitation
"Damn it! I really thought we'd get something out of him."
"Honestly me too," James replied
"Luckily it's not over yet. I have some leftover here you go James." She said beginning to hand over a vial to him.
And just like that James was running out of the room as fast as he could. Remus began to run after him and eventually caught up with him pulling him back into the room.
"He'll only drink it if you drink some," Remus said looking over at James.
"Hey! I never even said that. What are you trying to pull." James yelled
Lily's cheeks flushed with red.
"This will be interesting because as far as I know, I don't like anybody. Might as well see." She said getting another vial of the serum and handing one to James.
James was giving Remus the evilest glare Remus had seen in forever.
They both drank the potion and Remus spoke up.
"Who do you both like?" He asked
It seemed as if they had both spoken at the same time with the same word
"You." They yelled
The potion must have been making it so they weren't ashamed of what they both just said seeing as they hadn't moved. They were both just standing staring at each other. Remus was wondering how long the second-hand embarrassment would last.
-- Back in the Gryffindor Common Room--
At this point, Sirius had woken up. He was shocked when he looked down to find you laying on his chest with your head under his chin. He very carefully took a blanket off the back of a chair after discretely sliding out from under you and resting your head on a Pillow. He draped the blanket over you and began to leave in search of Remus and James.
The two of you hadn't fallen asleep on each other in the first place so it must have just been when you two were sleeping you resorted to a more comfortable position than sitting up. He thought that if he hadn't said anything to contribute to the two of you not falling asleep on each other immediately you would never even remember it happening.
Sure you would wake up with your head on a pillow and a blanket over you but what else were friends supposed to do.
Sirius' thoughts however were interrupted when Remus noticed him standing next to him.
"Hey," He spoke up
"What is going on?" He asked as he watched James and Lily still awkwardly staring at each other.
"So it's a long story..."
"Tell me all of it. I reckon we still have time."
"Well, you see me, and James sort of accidentally went into the common room and saw you and y/n on the couch sleeping."
"You saw that?" Sirius asked growing more embarrassed.
"Well yes but that's not even barely the beginning. James couldn't stop going on about how you were probably in love with y/n and that she was the girl you were talking about last night. So I dragged him out of there and we ran into Lily who asked where y/n was and had already suspected you were out with y/n skipping class."
"Where is this story going Moony it's all over the place."
"Just wait you said you wanted to know all of it. James told her you and y/n were sleeping in each other's arms so she ran off. My only option was to lock James in that closet right over there. I ran after Lily who is now also convinced the two of you are in love with each other. I told her she was just as insufferable as James and told her we should leave and she should help me out with James. Then she said she would only help if I told her my crush or whatever and I told her the truth. In which don't get mad at me I don't actually have one I just didn't want to be yelled at for listening to the two of you talk about yours while I didn't say anything."
"Ok give me a second this is a lot of information. Ok, I'm good continue."
"She told me she didn't believe me and that she was going to make me drink veritaserum so I said ok. We took James out of the closet and she made the potion and had me drink it. I drank it and told her exactly what I said. She didn't seem to happy with this answer so she tried to get James to drink some to which he ran away. I brought him back and they drank it together in a negotiation. I asked who their crushes were and they both said each other. The potion hasn't had them fully aware so they've been like this for a while."
"Wow good for James."
"Yea I just would get out of here in not too long if I were you. If not you might be badgered about you and y/n. He just can't get it through his head that you don't like her like that."
Sirius' face paled and he had an embarrassed look on his face he was trying not to make too obvious.
"Wait a minute... Sirius?" Remus began.
