We successfully made it to the bottom.
"Master, won't we need more troopers?" Eli asked.
"Yes they will be coming in soon," I answered, "Be patient."
"Yes Master," he said.
"Men stay on high alert, we don't know what lies ahead," I said leading them into the tunnel.
Eli was right behind us pointing me in the right direction. A few turns later Eli looks up.
"This is the entrance," he said pointing to the latch that was above us.
I opened the latch and jumped out. Right in front of me was the room Maul was in. It had two guards. Quickly I knocked out the guards.
"Clear," I said.
Immediately Eli, Rex, and everyone else came up through the hatch.
Suddenly there were loud noises coming from outside. Looking out the window it appears there was a rebellion of some sort fighting against Maul's men.
"Looks like we got come allies," Rex commented.
"You all go help them and call the rest of the troops in.
"What happened to it being a stealth mission?" Eli asked.
"Things never go as planned," I joke.
"Men get into positions then attack once reinforcements come to attack," I commanded.
"Yes Commander," Rex said.
"Eli stay with Rex," I said.
"Yes Master," he said.
I walked into the room. Maul sat alone on a throne where the Duchess once sat.
"I was hoping for Kenobi. Who are you?" Maul said looking at me coldly.
"I'm Ahsoka Tano, Jedi Master," I answered.
"Ah yes, I've heard of you. You were Skywalker's padawan, the one who changed the prophecy," he said.
"What Prophecy?" I ask.
"It was foretold that Skywalker would bring balance to the force. But then you came back to the Order and changed things. I must congratulate you for killing Dooku though I'm very impressed." he said.
"Your master's plan to turn me to the Darkside won't work," I responded coldly.
"You know who my master is?" He asked.
"Palantine," I said, "should have killed him when I had the chance."
"That's not very Jedi like," Maul commented.
"Your right," I said.
"Join me and we can defeat him," he said.
"Never," I said, igniting my sabers.
Maul ignited his saber as well.
Maul swung his saber towards my head which I blocked. I aim for his chest which he blocked with ease. Maul swung towards my neck, I ducked but lost balance and fell to the ground. Maul aims for my head. Suddenly, I used the force to freeze Maul in place as I aimed for his legs and chopped them off clean. I use the force to take Maul's saber out of his hand. I clip it onto my belt. Maul then unfroze, before I could do anything the lightsaber flew off my belt hitting Maul's neck cutting his head clean off. Maul's body dropped lifelessly on the ground. I grab his lightsaber putting it on my belt. Maul just killed himself.
I sigh. The council is going to flip out. I was supposed to capture him.
Quickly I run outside and see Death Watch surrounded. Suddenly the shooting stopped and one of the Mandlorings said, "Maul will save us," as they put the weapons on the ground.
"Maul's dead," I said holding up his red lightsaber.
Everyone looks up at me in shock.
"Do you plan on ruling us now?" Someone yelled.
"No, I have no desire to rule and I'm not the rightful leader," I answer.
I watch as the rebellion arrests Death Watch and takes them away. I walk over to Rex, "Well done Captain," I said.
"Thank you Commander but there's something you need to see," Rex says as he begins walking to a transport ship.
I see a figure leaning against the ship.
"Someone came up behind me and tried to shoot me but your padawan stopped them but while he was dealing with them someone else shot him in the shoulder," Rex informed me.
"Thank you, Rex," I said.
As we got closer to the ship I realized that it was Eli leaning against the ship. I ran over to him.
"Master I'm sorry," he said looking down.
"From what Rex tells me you did great today and that you saved his life. You sacrificed yourself for him. That is a quality of a true Jedi," I said.
"I still got injured," he said.
"Let's get you back to the Twilight," I said as I helped him on the transport ship.
The transport ship dropped Rex, Eli, and I off at the Twilight.
"The rest of the men will go back on the transport ships," Rex said.
"Okay. Rex started the ship," I said.
I open the Twilight and take Eli to the back of the ship where the medical droid is. I lay Eli down on the medic bed as the ship began to take off.
I felt a sudden shift in the force. I collapse on the ground in pain. The Jedi didn't succeed in killing the Chancellor. Order 66 had begun. I ran out of the room to find Rex closing and locking the door behind me.
Rex came out of the room he was in, "Find Fives," he yelled aiming his blasters at me.
"Rex no! FIght back this isn't you!" I yelled.
Rex screamed and fired his guns. I dodge each bullet. I force push Rex against the wall knocking him out. A moment later R-7 came out from the back.
"R-7 find information on CT-5555" I yelled.
R-7 pulled up the information on Fives. I read through the information quickly. The inhibitor chip is inside Rex's head. Suddenly I realized no one was driving the ship. Quickly I ran and set the coordinates to Naboo and the ship took off into hyperspace. I ran back to Rex and dragged him into the medical bay and put him on a bed. I use the force to find the chip. The medical droid came over.
"I need you to remove the chip," I said.
"Right away," it answered.
I walk over to a very confused Eli.
"Eli the sith have taken over the galaxy and the clones have turned against us. We have to go into hiding," I said.
"Master what do you mean?" he asked.
"Over a month ago I was captured by Dooku and I discovered that the sith lord is the Chancellor. I returned to the Jedi and I began to spy on him. Later we found enough evidence to take him to trial. They were supposed to do that while we were here. I had a feeling it wouldn't go as planned. But now the Chancellor has told all of the troops to execute us. They have to follow it because of a chip implant in their heads," I answered.
"So we have to fake our deaths so they won't come looking for us?" He asked.
"I'm afraid so," I said, "We are going to Naboo and we'll crash the ship and leave our lightsabers there so they think we are dead," I said.
"How will I complete my training then?" Eli asked.
"I have Maul's saber and in the front of the ship, I have Dooku's saber on a shelf. We will use these as our new lightsabers," I said.
"Should we contact the other Jedi to see if they are alive?" Eli asked.
I sigh, "We can't, it's too dangerous I'm afraid."
Eli looked at me disappointed.
"We will grab some civilian clothing when we crash on Naboo," I said.
"Naboo is one of the most popular places in the galaxy won't troops be there?" He asked.
"Chances are they will all be at the Jedi Temple," I said.
"We need to go back to the Temple to warn them!" Eli exclaimed.
"We'll be too late," I said.
"Master we can't leave them to die! My friends are there!" Eli cried angrily. Suddenly a wave of force pushed me against the wall.
I looked up and saw Eli looking terrified, "Eli?" I said quietly.
"M-Master I didn't mean to, I don't know what happened. I stood back up and sat down next to him.
"You got angry which led to you having an outburst," I informed him.
"I'm sorry that's not very Jedi like of me," he said sadly.
"No it isn't. But it's natural to get angry. Listen to me very closely, I want to go back as much as you do but we can't. If we go back there we will both die and our rescue attempt will be in vain. If you want to help people we have to stay alive to do that." I said calmly.
"Your right," he said in defeat.
"I'm sorry Eli I really am," I said getting up.
"Did you know it was going to happen?" He asked as I walked over to Rex.
"I had a feeling it might have. I tried my best to stop it but it looks like I failed." I said feeling guilty.
"The surgery was a success," The droid said.
Rex opened his eyes, "Commander?" Rex asked confused.
"Rex are you okay?" I ask.
"Yeah are you? I'm so sorry I tried to kill you," He said.
"I'm okay Rex," I answered calmly.
Rex sighed with relief.
"We have to go discuss some things real quick Rex. Eli, stay here and rest," I commanded.
"Yes Master," he said as we left the room.
