Since the Military canteen event, everyone have the impression that Mai Ding and An Ziyan are closed. Based on the relationship both of them have, Mai Ding feel flattered and enjoying it even more as he getting closer to An Ziyan just like winning a lottery ticket.
One day, Li Ming supposed to have a movie date with a girl but rejected, Due to that he literally threw the ticket to Mai Ding.
"Why are you giving it to me? With whom should i watch it with?" while Mai Ding holding the ticket.
As li Ming looked directly to Mai Ding's eyes " Stop pretending."
Mai Ding confused with Li Ming's remark, What does he mean by that? "Shall we go together?"
Li Ming sat in front of his computer and said "No fucking kidding me, I'm not going to watch a movie with a guy."
"Then who should i watch with?"
"There you go again. Stop pretending. Don't you have An Ziyan?".
Li Ming's reminded Mai Ding about An Ziyan existence with his remark. Oh yes, An Ziyan, as he thought of it.
He dashed off with the ticket and knocked on his neighbor's door ( That is An Ziyan ). An Ziyan only opened the door slightly cause have this bad feeling with Mai Ding appearing in front of his door. He don't have the intention to let him in either.
"Hey Buddy, let's go to the movie" as Mai Ding flashed his free movie tickets.
"Not interested."
"Oh come on. It's a good movie. Alice IN Wonderland in 3D."
"Childish."
"My favorite actor is in it. " Mai Ding's eyes glowed when talking about Johnny Depp.
"Pervert."
"Come on. Watching a movie alone is boring. "
An Ziyan giving up talking to Mai Ding as talking to him it's a waste of energy. As he wanted to close the door, Mai Ding threaten him.
"If you don't go, i will tell everyone that you like man and woman. "
Mai Ding is really silly to think this type of threat will work on him. But An Ziyan totally ignored him and closed the door after saying " Whatever" in a cold manner.
Mai Ding kind of immune to such treatment ( as the door shut on his face countless time before ) and still not giving up at all by banging on the door non stop. He needs to hurry up cause the movie starts in an hour. He never thought that with the time wasted here, he can practically drag Li Ming to the movie by now.
Finally, An Ziyan opened the door after 30 minutes of non stop banging.
"Ok, fine. I will go but with 1 condition."
"Sure. What it is?" Mai Ding all excited.
"Stop bothering after this."
Mai Ding hesitated for a moment. After looking at the movie ticket, he simply said " DEAL!" agreeing to his condition first no matter what.
Without An Ziyan knowing, Mai Ding is not someone who can keep his promise.
The cinema is just near by the university. At night, the street outside the university is bustling with lots of busy food stalls. As they passing that street, Mai Ding felt bored. He look at An Ziyan's motionless expression. He still adore him as much as first day they met.
"Am i annoying to you? "
"Now only you realized? "
"But i like spending times with you" as Mai Ding expressed his feeling. No matter how bad or rude An Ziyan treated him, Mai Ding is comfortable heart even beat faster then usual when they are together.
"Are you sure you don't like me? "
Mai Ding pushes An Ziyan around and laugh madly with his hand on his tummy.
"Are you kidding me?! In what universe you would think anyone will like someone your type?".
An Ziyan simply replied him intense with the intention to ignore him further.
Soon they arrived at the cinema. Mai Ding is extremely excited about the movie. He heard about it and wanted to watch it since the beginning but couldn't find the time to do it. When they seated, the light dimmed right after. Mai Ding keep putting on and off his 3D glasses to see the differences.
Mai Ding have special taste in movie. Since he was a kids, he likes fairytales very much. And when he all grown up, his taste bud shifted to fantasy movie especially those involve with magical character such as orcs, elves and animal that can talk. His childish choices in movie is often make fun of by everyone. Cause usually a full grown "man" likes action block buster movie with lots of war, gun fighting, blood spilling and brain blown into pieces.
But Mai Ding doesn't mind at all. Once he make up his mind about something he likes, he will stick with his choice for a long time. That's his nature of stubbornness .
That is why , Mai Ding was all excited whenever a new character appeared in the movie. His eyes will glow in joy and anticipation. An Ziyan laid back against the chair with his hand supporting his head, he can tell that Mai Ding really like the movie just by looking at him.
The light turned back on after the movie ended. Mai Ding took off his 3D glasses and rubbed his eyes as a sign of fatigue. An Ziyan stood up and said " Let's go. "
"Erm."
Mai Ding followed An Ziyan footstep behind. Even thought they don't talked much, but Mai Ding is happy enough that An Ziyan willing to watch the movie with him.
It's getting really late after the movie. There's not much people on the street anymore and most of the shop closed by this hour. Only the dimmed street lamp shine on them as An Ziyan walked in front while Mai Ding followed behind closely.
"Hey, what type of man do you? " while he was facing An Ziyan back.
"I'm not into man." An Ziyan decided to clarify with Mai Ding over this matter to avoid further misunderstanding.
Mai Dong Froze after An Ziyan said that. He starts to have this anxiety attack. If he is not bisexual, Mai Ding don't have any excuse anymore to get close with him. His dream of getting to know someone who likes both side of the world came tumbling down at his very own face.
"Really? Didn't' you said you like both guys and girls? ".
An Ziyan turned around to take a look at Mai Ding who stood still. " Must you believe in every word i said? ".
From that very moment, Mai Ding finally realized , all this while An Ziyan was joking. He is such a fool to believe all this. Seeing Mai Ding motionless, An Ziyan walked to him and grabbed his arm to keep on walking.
"Idiot. If we don't hurry up, the Dormitory door will close soon."
Mai Ding finally recover consciousness while letting An Ziyan to pull himself away. He clearly thought of every possibilities with what An Ziyan said earlier. As a friend , he should be happy for him cause he is normal homo sapien like average people should be. But why does he feels disappointed and huge loss at the end where they originated.
Soon they reached the door of their rooms. As Mai Ding took out the keys , he said " Even you lied to me, mean, and nasty , i would still like to thank you for accompanying me to the movie today. "
Ma Ding didn't expect any reaction from An Ziyan with that. Most probably he will just act cool like always. But this time, Mai Ding is super wrong. An Ziyan actually smile. This is the very first time Mai Ding saw that expression on his face. His smile is so warm and loving which open up Mai Ding's heart like a blooming flower.
"I never like guys, but ….. " An Ziyan paused. "Who knows maybe in future."
After An Ziyan said those words, he entered his own room. An Ziyan himself don't know why he said all those things. Maybe it's because to cheer Mai Ding's lost soul up, or perhaps simply because he wanted to tease him more. Who knows.
Mai Ding confused with what he said. What does he means? Does An Ziyan wants Mai Ding to wait? Wait when he finally turns bisexual , then only Mai Ding should be friends with him?.
Mai Ding seems to be in deep thoughts with the light of the room off with only light from Li Ming's laptop. Li Ming turned and trying to be nosy. " What's wrong? ".
"Everything is well."
Mai Ding hid himself in his cover and kept quiet. If only An Ziyan didn't said all those things, everything shall remind fine. But now, all Mai Ding can think of the An Ziyan's words that hurts him very much instead his last words before they depatured.
If An Ziyan don't really like guys, then he won't have the chance to like me at all. That is Mai Ding last thoughts before he buried himself in deep slumber. For some people, he or she will never realize the moment they starting to fall in love with another person. Mai Ding is that type of person.
