BLAIR WILLOWS had grown tired of staring at the white walls that made her bedroom. She was slumped upside-down on her bed, empty bottles of champagne she stole from her dad lay flat on the floor. A headache was bursting her skull in half, the feeling similar to a stress migraine — yet a lot worse than she could remember it.

Her dark brown hair was tangled in knots and hard to break apart — completely opposite of her usual silk smooth hair. Emerald eyes were set deep with dark circles covering tan skin.

Time stood still in her mind. The clock had stopped ticking and people around her moved in slow motion, because the only thing she did was sit in front of a mirror and feel sorry for herself. Poor bitch has no friends nor a good relationship with her parents! That's what she thought of herself — the golden girl who was alone, with not a single friend or parent in sight.

Blair once came from a relatively good home. She once had a father who adored her, a mother who provided for them by cooking and a wonderful dog who would protect her from all the bad things in the world. They were once the picture perfect family living in the big city of Los Angeles, living without a single worry or chip on their shoulders.

That was until her mother fled her own house for a man she'd been having an affair with, only two years after she made the choice to move for a fresh start. Her father — who had cheated on her mom multiple times — deeming it a good riddance was not uplifting her either. She knew they would soon to divorce, but seeing the people she loved most continuously had made her beyond heartbroken.

Her father shortly after started dating a women a little over four years ago — whom was named Cassidy. Cassidy was utterly sweet and Blair liked her, but she couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy every time he would leave her for Cassidy. For ten years, she had her father all to herself. They would go almost everywhere or spend nights in front of the TV watching movies they loved. But as Cassidy entered their lives, though, those things began to fade.

But like most people say, all good things must come to an end. Her father and Cassidy put-an-end-to their relationship two years ago and to say her father wasn't heartbroken was a complete lie. It started with one drink, then two, then there was a refrigerator full of alcohol.

A strange mix of sadness and guilty happiness surged through her once her father told her they broke up. She felt terrible for finding any bit of joy, but she couldn't help it. She finally got her father back. The guilty of happiness soon faded once she seen the way her father looked; tawny-brown eyes were bloodshot, the bags of skin below his eyes looked like hell, eyes carried a mixture of shock and barely contained anger. The floor was covered in many empty alcohol bottles, slurring words she could not understand.

Trying to aid her father was impossible. He would push her away, telling her childlike things. Once Blair turned the age of sixteen, she had left him in the lurch. Forsaken him with his own problems. They were both aging, and she grew old enough to know that he is of age and he should know how to fend for himself.

Blair viewed the television from upside-down, a string of giggles falling from her lips at the funny sensation of the flow of blood running through her brain. The day paused fast and the sunset left her as drips of moonlight sunk in through an open window. Blair reached out a hand across her bed, craning to touch the silvers of moonlight, half expecting it to withdraw at her presence. Her fingers illuminated in white.

Her lips curved into a small smile as her fingers traced the silvers of moonlight. She wished she was a star, a real one. Ever since she was a child, everything to do with space itself earned a place amongst her heart, but the stars most of all. Blair has always possessed an unshakable fascination for the stars. They call to her, whisper her name, begged to be seen among their ink black canvas. To Blair, the stars are pure magic.

She could not help but hear a door slam and desperate cries downstairs, a sigh escaping her lips upon realizing the pain her father had gone through his whole life. It was much more worse than what she has been through this week.

Her fingers closed in the air and came by to rest by her side. She shot up from her bed, but before she could allow herself to feel anything, she got up on her feet and stumbled out of her bedroom, keeping herself steady as she held onto the walls with every ounce of strength she had left in her body, knuckles turning white.

"Father?" Blair yelled out into the empty hallway hoping her father was not too distant, saving her the walk she began to dread. She was met with no response and a huff escaped her lips "Dad, you better not be dead for fucks sake!"

She stormed into the living room, ready to give her dad an earful but he was sound asleep on the sofa; his head tilted back, mouth wide open, snores escaping his lips and an half-full beer between his fingers and ash from cigarettes on his lap.

An irritated groan left her lips, her hands on her hips and a tired look on her face as if her dad could see the stern and annoyed glare. "And to think he was a sobbing mess." Blair muttered, letting out a snort. She picked up the blanket from the arm chair and placed it over her dads chest.

She picked the half-full bottle from his grasp and stumbled towards the kitchen. She took a swig of the alcohol before throwing it like a ball into the trash can, fits of giggles falling from her lips as her hands remained in the air in celebration.

She waltzed back to the living room, picking up the remote and switching it off before tossing it onto the couch and heading back to her room at the end of the hall. But the sound of a male voice made her stop in her tracks and she looked over her shoulder, seeing her father's sloppy and lopsided smile. "I love you, berry." He murmured, a soft sigh escaping his lips as he doze off once again.

Her lips curved into a wide smile. "I love you too, dad." Blair whispered, hovering where she stood for a few moments upon realizing he had used the nickname he would call her when she was younger.
