When I was a little girl,
I believed in all things nice.
I never saw the bad in things,
Now I know to think twice.
I would always look at the stars,
shining in the sky,
and believe they would grant my wish,
Now I know not to try.
I was always optimistic,
and think everything to be alright.
I could make myself feel better,
Now everything's one huge fight.
I was always completely happy,
there were no such things as fears,
I wasn't scared of anything,
now it's hard to hide the tears.
I used to think that life was great,
But now I can respect,
that life is not a fairytale,
it's never going to be perfect.
