"come on, will is gonna kill us if were late." sophia smacked is arm, grabbing er bag and mask before taking off to the front door of the hotel room. "were not even that late." tommy said a matter-a-factly. "yeah, but by the time we actually get there we will be."
the walk to the cafe wasn't as long, dayglow on shuffle through sophias airpods they shared. sophia sighed, feeling the heavy, cooling breeze that flew through the air, bringing strands of her dark hair.
"what was that for?" tommy asked, glancing at the shorter girl, hands still tucked into his pockets. "what?" she laughed. "the sigh, you were all like, hugh." he added a dramatic sigh at the end. "it wasn't that dramatic, drama queen." she said, shaking her head. "anyways, im having a movie moment."
he gave her a weird look, "huh?" he said loudly, "movie moment? what kind a movie?" he laughed. sophia reached up, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, "i don't know, a really fucking cool one though." he laughed.
"niki!" sophia smiled and jogged towards the group, hugging niki before taking her seat. "eres the lip gloss, sophie." niki smiled, reaching into her bag and pulling out the pink tube of gloss. "ooh!" sophia laughed. "tommy, you want some?" sophia asked, waving it in front of tommys face. "shut te fuck up!" he laughed.
once the pair finished their food, walking as a group towards the pier for their last day in brighton. "i'm gonna miss kristin and niki." sophia said, leaning on niki. "fuck you, child." wilbur said, messing up sopias hair. she gasped, "no, fuck you tall ass bald bitch." they laughed.
after a while of walking in silence, sophia felt the mood drop, she figured tommy was realizing the fact that he was going to leave everyone, specifically wilbur and phil. as much as they joke, they are actually really close and he really enjoyed seeing them in person.
"hey tommy, race you to the beach." tommy groaned, "come on, don't be a bitch!" sophia hit his shoulder, a smile tugging at his lips. "fineee." she cheered before starting to run off.
sophia and tommys loud laughter was loud as it flew through the wind, adrenaline high as they ran to the pier, ignoring all the dirty looks they got. "FUCK THE FEDS!" tommy yelled, flipping off the cop car driving by them. sophia laughed, covering her mouth as she dragged him farther up so they couldn't see. "tommy, yes, but what the fuck?" she laughed, him joining in.
sophia pulled tommy down to the ground with her, she picked up a pebble, tossing it away from her as they caught their breath.
"how much will it take for you to jump into the water?" tommy asked, sophia laughed. "a huge fucking lot, my outfits so cute." she groaned, tommy sighed. "ill give you 2 quid." tommy laughed. sophia smacked his arm, "fine." he laughed loudly, getting up and pulling sophia up with him.
sophia already left her phone with niki and tommy did the same with wilbur so the pair just looked at each other before running towards the water, letting out loud squeals once they made it into the cold water.
"god, why did i agree to this?" she laughed, wiping droplets of salt water off her face. "wait... why the fuck did i go in with you?" tommy laughed, ruffling his hair. "oh yeah! dumbass!" she splashed him, her smile immediately faltering, "wait, no, tommy, i didn't mean it, I DIDN'T MEAN IT!" she yelled as the blond began to chase her in the sallow water.
sophia and tommy splashed each other, ignoring the cold water and the colder wind, as they laughed and attempted to run through the water. "tommy, i will drown if you keep trying to push me under water, you overgrown child!" she laughed. "oops! guess i wont try and drown you!" he laughed.
"there you two are!" wilbur yelled, the both of them freezing and turning to see the group of people. "what the fuck are you doing? get out of there!" phil yelled, waving them over. "jesus, he really is like a dad." tommy laughed and nodded.
phil went over and grabbed tommy and sophias jackets, holding them for the pair while they got out of the water.
sophia wringed out the bottom of her skirt, thinking of how far the two had come from that stupid lecture. she thought about how funny it was that because she was so tired she let 'pog' slip out and gain tommys attention. and if it wasn't for her stupid brother who played a block game for a reason she wouldn't have met her best friend. but she couldn't help but wonder if it would all last, and hope it would.
"hey tommy?" she asked, "yeah?" he asked, fixing his soaking blond hair. "do you think we'll ever stop being friends?" tommy gave her a weird look, smiling as the sun set behind them. "surely not."
