Enya is doing exceptionally well in her training. In under two weeks, she has almost passed all the lessons she needs to come with me. Currently, she is working on hand signals and how to evade quicks and even humans. Damon has joined in on assisting in her training on the magical arts. Even joining in on our plant lessons.
To Sam, Liam, and Dianas' surprise, Enya has been identifying the plants in our food as extra practice, she is a quick study. Which surprised me as she said her magic control was poor and it was hard for her to pick up and learn new things. But she is picking things up extremely fast. By my best guess, it was all due to her mental state. Her depression slowed her down shutting off her learning ability and making her more put down when she didn't get something.
I am very proud of her and how far she has come she still has a long way to go but improvement is an improvement no matter how little. "Kiandra Kaindra look I got it, " turning to look at Enya I see her hovering the snowball Sam threw at her in the air.
Smiling I grab the snowball throwing it back at the other team hitting Damon square in the face. "Good job little one that was the fastest one yet soon you will be able to stop the mine." She beams quickly making a new show ball and throwing it at the other team.
Sam goes down from Enya's snowball collapsing exaggeratedly. "I can see the light oh Enya you have doomed me, " dramatically her head flops into the wet snow as she lays still.
Enya giggles running over with a handful of snow. We all grin as she dumps it onto the unsuspecting redhead. Sam screeches as the cold snow falls on her face and down her shirt. "Oo so that's how you want to play well come here you little rascal let's see how you like it."
Enya jumps into action taking off towards the empty playground. Sam follows her slipping on the snow as her heavier self sinks. Raising an eyebrow we all look at each other before following. "The last one on the ground is it for grounders, " Liam shouts running faster.
Damon snickers at the human quickly getting last him "you think you can outrun a vampire, demon, and angel."
"Half angle, " Diana corrects matching pace with Liam.
"But I am an exceptional runner so..."
Liam shouts as she runs past Damon easily. Sharing my head I sprint the rest of the way jumping to the top of the play structure. Looking back at Damon, Liam, and Diana my smile falters. There should be two others running alongside them but they are gone.
Shaking my head of those thoughts I smile once again. Looking over at Sam and Enya I snicker. Sam is failing miserably in her attempts to catch the small child. Enya slips into every small section that Sam is unable to go staying out of her reach just as she has practiced. Sam is so focused on her attempts to catch Enya that she doesn't realize that Liam is coming up behind her.
She screams as Liam lifts her before jumping onto the play structure. "Oh sorry, Samantha did I scare you, yeah...well your it better start counting." Liam grins at the glaring Sam jumping to a higher section. Sam grumbles under her breath, taking a step back.
Spinning in a circle ten times we all grin at her from the structure. Sam eyes us looking for the easiest target. Locking gazes with Liam she blows him a kiss before moving in his direction. Round after round we play I get tagged by Damon as he made a rule that I too had to close my eyes to not cheat. The cheat used is demon ability on me though and he calls me a cheat.
Halfway through the afternoon, I spotted the witch and her two minions. They walked up not too long ago watching us. Moving closer to Damon I lean over lowering my voice "witch four o'clock stay here I will be back."
He looks in the direction I mentioned nodding. Sliding down the slide I walk over to the three. Enya's eyes follow my every move before they fade off continuing the game. The witch's face stays neutral any sign of emotion whipped clean. The demon's eyes follow Damon behind me as he continues playing with the others, a sad look sliding in his eyes.
Michal eyes me a pinch of red leaking around his irises. Keeping my face neutral the closer I get I glare at Michal before returning to my impassive state. "What do you want?" All formalities get washed out the window the moment I speak.
"Is it a crime to take a walk to enjoy the weather?" The witch's honey-soaked voice makes me bristle.
"No, but following and watching other people is also known as stalking."
The gold in her eyes flashes as we stare at one another. "Join us Kaindra you will have everything you could ever want." Once again her point of jumping from peasantry and threat is uncanny, but she isn't the only one with claws.
"What I want is peace without death and that doesn't seem like something you know." The air thickens to the point that a knife would never be able to cut through it.
"You know nothing little girl we want what was taken from us, freedom to be ourselves without hiding." The luring tone turns menacing much quicker than last time.
"Then why kill your kind, in the name of peace? Peace can't happen in the blood, blood makes monsters, not freedom it traps you with no way out killing you bit by bit till all that's left is the monster you never wanted to be. You can't stop it once you dropped the first drop of blood at your hands taking a life. You can only delay it even then which can make it go faster. Acceptance and unity of all kinds create peace.
"If you don't stop the next people dying are the ones you say you are trying to protect. Who gets killed next huh the vampires, demons, angels...we know that you don't want to kill your kind so you would go for the others."
My words anger her, her aura growing even darker. "Little girl oh little girl so brave and small. If you want to protect the little humans go ahead. I will kill every last one of them or feed them to the dead and make you watch. I won't kill you...no I won't you are so powerful so new one day you'll see you will come to me."
My eyes widen a fraction wanting so bad to use my powers on her but I can't, she can't know what I am. Feeling my fangs lengthen I snarl "you will not their blood will not spill as long as I am here."
Michal lets his full vampire come out stepping in my direction. The witch puts a hand on his chest stopping him "it's fine Michal stand down." He growls glaring at me before stepping back. The demon continues to stand calmly beside the witch. He hasn't moved a muscle through this whole ordeal, standing like a statue.
"We are done witch and that's my final answer." Michal snarls and I snarl back. Turning on my heels I match back to my friends.
"One-day Kaindra one day you will see the truth." Ignoring the witch's call I continue on my way.
Damon jumps down from the second level standing beside me "what did she want?"
Turning my eyes down I take deep breaths till I feel myself change back. Facing him I plaster on a smile "nothing of importance Dam don't worry yourself." He smiles back slowly patting my shoulder as he walks away.
Checking my watch I scan the play structure for Enya.
Waving at her I call out "Enya it's time for your next training session." She cheers sliding down a pole to the ground. Skipping over to me she grabs my hand dragging me away. Waving to the others I follow Enya as she lets me go walking ahead of me.
I pull Ken aside as Enya practices with Jim. "How many more sessions does she need before she can go with me?"
Ken taps his chin as he thinks over my question "two maybe three more alone then some pre-practice with you so possibly four it five." Nodding I thank him before going back to my seat to watch.
Enya skips beside me relaxed as we maneuver through the halls. She stops skipping when we turn down an unfamiliar hall. Grabbing my hand she whispers" where are we going?"
Looking down I squeeze her hand gently "I need to talk to someone it's okay they are nice."
She nods relaxing slightly. Nocking gently on a door I wait till the person inside calls me in. A man leans over a desk with some papers in his hand. "Eric it's Kaindra I have a question for you."
Eric lifts his head moving his semy long hair out of his face. "What is it Kaindra?"
"I was wondering if I could do some training with Damon. I have a feeling I am going to need the practice soon." He rubs his chin scratching at the scruff scattered across his jaw.
"I don't see why not what days and time?"
" Every day after dinner, " Enya squeezes my hand still standing at my side.
He looks to the wall for some time before looking at me again his black eyes glinting "I guess you already have a plan for what you are going to do so Enya is not alone?"
I nod "then I don't see why not. The small gym at five three hours doesn't be late."
Thanking him I lead Enya out taking the quickest route back to our room. "Who was that?"
"Well, Enya that was a friend of mine. Damon and I are going to be doing some new training together maybe you can get some more lessons with Ken well I do."
She giggles jumping up and down "yes yes yes please." Laughing I ruffle her hair.
