I just want to clarify stuff about the last chapter since a bunch of people texted me about it asking why I killed off Alec and how it is related to the anime "Given"
Let me start off with the being
Mafuyus dad was an alcoholic so he would abuse Mafuyu and his mom. Mafuyu ran off to the park trying to escape a beating from his dad.
Which is were essentially he meets yuki.
Which triggers this part into the story
You soon ended up in the park, trying to catch your breath you go sit behind a bush. Not wanting to cause any attention to yourself.
Sadly enough that didn't quite work out well for you.
You were wheezing to such a extend someone small boy with dirty Brown hair heard it.
Yuki introduces mafuyu to his mom to where his mom understood what was happening at mafuyus house causing me to write this
Alec looked at his mother and said
"Mom! Meet my new friend! They're really nice!"
His mother looked at you with slight skepticism in her eyes
"Alec dear, how did you guys meet?"
Alecs smiling face quickly turned into a scowl
"She was crying in the bushes mom! And look at this!"
This is what caused mafuyus mother to call the authorities on his father. Which alecs mother did as well which ended up with the father getting arrested a result
Now later in the story I mention Alec and Y/n getting closer and closer. The idea of Alec forgetting about y/n and the high school meet up was completely my idea. Since mafuyu and yuki were still in middle school when it all took place. But the idea of them getting closer with friends came from the anime as well as you can see below
The two boys in the back are supposed to represent the other kids y/n meet at the Park
...
Now getting into the actual stuff about Alec committing suicide
I mention
It was Christmas Eve when you and Alec starting fighting about how he doesn't spend enough time with you anymore. Alec was actually the one who started it complaining about how you don't spend enough time with him. It soon escalated to whether or not he loved you or not, that's when the words
"IF YOU LOVE ME SO MUCH ARE YOU WILLING TO DIE FOR ME THEN?"
Now this exactly came from the anime, the season as well. Mafuyu got mad at yuki an screamed
Now this was taken place in winter.
After that argument mafuyu was the one who ran off instead but instantly regretted screaming that later in the day. He called yuki over and over again but he never picked up. To which lead him to going to his house and checking up on him.
And that's when he found yuki dead in his room. He had hanged himself on his fan.
This is the moment mafuyu found out that he'd hanged himself.
Now I also got a question about the quote in the beginning of the story and to those who didn't know
Yuki means Snow
And Mafuyu means winter
"There is no winter without snow"
That's what that means.
Now of course mafuyu moved on and met someone else
But I wanted to end it where Alec (YUKI) hanged himself.
