Geralt hadn't really slept at all. He was angry with himself and how he reacted toward Jamie. If he wanted her back he wouldn't have done any of that. All he did was push her away this time. Jamie had left him before but now he was the one ruining everything. And he was frustrated with that. With himself and with her. He threw open his tent, not exactly using it in the first place, and walked out. He stopped the second he saw Jamie.

Her tired form, slouched, obviously lacking sleep from their talk the previous night. But this just made him want to walk over to her and continue it. Rather than continue their argument, he wanted to make amends and just apologize to her. Finally, loosening the tightness in his jaw, he turned away from her and walked away.

Yennefer's voice caught his attention as she searched around, "Has anyone seen my escort?" She finally stopped next to Jamie, "Jamie?"

"I just woke up, Yennefer." Geralt turned his head in their direction, taking in Jamie's defeated sounding voice. She was busy adjusting her boots to even notice that Geralt was staring at her again. Despite being highly attracted to Jamie in that revealing dress, the idea and image of her as a warrior was far more attractive. And here she was basically dressed that way now.

"Ah!" Yarpen screams from the distance, his voice very distinct, "Bloody ball sacks!"

His cry alerted everyone and caused them all to go running to investigate. Geralt scrunched his nose and furrowed his brows. The bastard had been killed in such a disgusting position that it almost made Geralt feel sorry for him.

Jaskier covers his neck with his hands and swallows, "Who slits a man's throat while he's relieving his bowels? I nothing sacred anymore?"

Yennefer shook head head, "Fuck." Before she stormed off.

Jamie sighed loudly, "That's one way to get a man when he's alone."

Geralt didn't even budge when Jamie brushed past him as she went after Yennefer. He scowled, a surge of irritation running through him as Jamie pursued Yennefer of all people. He approached them slowly and silently, "Did you kill Eyk?"

Jamie's voice was exasperated as she shot him a displeased looked, "Geralt-"

But Yennefer didn't give Jamie a chance to defend her, "Kill him?" She scoffs with a low chuckle, "That's rather pedestrian. And you're the one who's been throwing daggers at him since we arrived. It was the Reavers. That bastard Boholt killed my escort before he could accomplish the one damn task I actually needed him for."

Geralt squinted his eyes, "And what was that?"

Jamie shot him a look, "Do you honestly care?"

"Jamie." Geralt scowled at her hostile behavior, she had never been hostile with him like this before, "What are you two really doing here?"

"I'm here for the dragon."

"And I'm here for Yennefer."

Geralt remained silent, he had heard that too many times from Jamie, but he did want more of a genuine answer. None of this vague shit they were giving him.

Yennefer gave in with a sigh, "There are certain healing properties it's rumored to possess."

"I thought your transformation healed all parts of you?"

Yennefer nodded her head with a small sigh, he would keep pressing her, "At cost of losing others, yes."

"Yennefer..." Geralt's amusement was clear as he actually smiled at the ridiculousness of this, "Do not tell me you've traveled all this way for made-up fertility cures using fresh dragon hearts?"

Growing furious, Yennefer growled over at him, "They're not made up!"

"They are." Geralt shook his head, "You, a mother?"

"You, an asshole?" Jamie's outburst immediately made the smile drop from his face. He was digging an even deeper grave with these comments, "Why do you have to be an ass? Can't you show some empathy or sympathy?"

Geralt looked away from Jamie with a long sigh, he didn't want to make her more upset but he was doing the opposite. So he decided to play nice with the woman that took Jamie away from him, "A child? What could you possibly want with a child?"

"They took my choice." Yennefer hissed over at him, wishing that he could actually understand, "I want it back. Not that I'd expect you to understand."

"I didn't choose to become a witcher." His eyes shift over to Jamie, and groaned as he continued on to Yennefer, "Listen... The people who made us, they made us sterile for a lot of reasons. One of the kinder ones is because this lifestyle isn't suited to a child."

Yennefer only shook head head and turned away from him, she knew that deep down he was right but that didn't make losing her choice okay.

"What? You were going to summon chaos on kings' orders in between feeding and naps?"

"Geralt!" Jamie shoved him, surprising him in the process, as he actually staggered back from the aggressive push, "You don't have to fucking patronize her!"

"I'm not." Geralt admitted as he followed behind the two as they retreated, "I've thought about this. Often. And I'd rather use my Child Surprise as bruxa bait than subject it to this life!"

Yennefer twisted around quickly, a look of shock and anger in her eyes at his words, "What did you just say? You have a Child Surprise?" She glanced over to Jamie wondering if she knew as well, most likely, and laughs, "Isn't that rich? You lecture me on made-up cures for having a child, meanwhile you cheat with destiny to steal one."

"You've said enough, Geralt..." Jamie whispers.

Geralt twisted his head while looking away from her, "Ever... Ever since I got to see you again, I can not control what I say. And I regret it." He shut his eyes and brought them back to Jamie, "The dwarfs, they're leading us to a shorter path. Come along."

Yennefer kept her head up high, "We can take care of ourselves."

"You don't always have to." Geralt directed this over to Jamie, knowing this was what he should have told her last night. There was a slight plea to his voice, the need for Jamie to just say yes was definite now, "Come with me."

"Only if Yennefer agrees."

Geralt felt the irritation in him build up again and deflate. He couldn't let those emotions drive her away.

"Fine." Yennefer huffed, brushing past them to head back to the group.

Geralt was silent as they started to walk back together. But Jamie had brought something up that he didn't expect her to notice. The fabric on his sword, "You kept that?"

"You left it for him." His response came out more as a grunt, trying to conceal more than reveal.

"I did."

And that was it for interaction between the two of them for most of the journey. Which actually disheartened Geralt since he was just getting used to hearing her voice again. How she would always talk to him. He was craving those interactions again.

"Mind the scree fallin', hear me?" He turned back to make sure they did and continued, "Can get a bit rocky round here if it's windy. Which... it is. We're here."

Jaskier hugged the wall, "Yeah, you're right, this is a shortcut... to death."

Yarpen shot a dirty glare to the bard, "You wanna beat those Reavers or not?"

Geralt looked directly at Jamie as she leaned forward and looked down the edge of the cliff. Absolutely not. "We should turn back."

"No." Borch argues, "We're very close."

Jaskier shot him an incredulous look, he sure as hell did not want to go onto this death trap, "How can you possibly know that?"

"It's a perfectly fine route!"

Yennefer added in, "For a dwarf."

"Stifle your mewlin'. You'll manage." Yarpen shrugged his shoulders and started his route now, "As long as you don't look down."

Jamie peered over at Jaskier, as he smiled at her, "Ladies first."

Yennefer rolled her eyes and pushed him ahead, then following his lead. Jamie grabbed onto the chain after her and breathed out. Geralt walked closely behind Jamie, caring more about her safety rather than his own.

"Oh, fuck! Oh..." Jaskier breathed out as rocks fell below him, "Oh, that is not a good sign. That is not a good sign."

Jamie shut her eyes and exhaled, "None of this is exactly good, Jaskier, just keep moving."

"There are moments where I ask myself why I missed you." Jaskier shot over to her, "Then I remember... and then I also remember our arguments."

"Could you shut your mouth?" Yennefer barked over at him, "You speak too damn much."

Suddenly, behind Geralt the wood boards break, Borch and his warriors tumble down, the only this holding them up was the chain and Geralt.

"Geralt!"

Geralt released a growl at Jamie as she tried to reach for him, "Get back!"

"Sir Witcher, you will save us yet. But first you must let go."

"No."

The wood below Geralt cracked slightly, making him shift and Jamie scream, "Geralt! The planks won't hold!"

Borch simply smiled over to him, "Thank you-" Before he released himself off the chains, once he did the warriors followed.

Geralt didn't move, he just stared in shock and at the hand that was once holding Borch. He then felt Jamie grab his other hand, causing him to jerk and whip his head to stare at her.

"Geralt... We need to go."

Once they were all off the dangerous cliffside, their tents were set up. But Geralt didn't want to be near them at the moment. He never liked to admit it, but he wasn't fond of losing people. Even those he didn't know well. Which were most people. He didn't even react when not only Jaskier, but Jamie came to sit on his sides.

"You did your best." Jaskier says softly, "There's nothing else you could have done."

"You did your best, Geralt." Jamie says this time, she placed a hand on his shoulder then stood up, looking to Jaskier to continue the comfort, "I'm sorry you lost your friend."

Jaskier waited for Jamie to go away, "Look, why don't we leave tomorrow? That is, if you'll give me another chance to prove myself a... worthy travel companion. Even if I'm not Jamie."

"Hm."

"We could head to the coast. Get away for a while." Jaskier made himself chuckle, "Sounds like something Borch would say, isn't it? Life is too short. Do what pleases you... while you can."

"Composing your next song?"

"No, I'm just, uh... Just trying to work out what pleases me."

Geralt glanced over at Jaskier then over at Jamie's tent after hearing his words. He grunted while getting up and heading to where she was. He pushed open the drapes, taking everything in. His eyes initially landed on Jamie, who was in sleepwear and reading a book that he had gifted her long ago. The rest of her tent was simple, far larger after using an incantation, but it wasn't as though she was trying to make it fancy.

"Hm. So simple."

Jamie's attention was drawn over to Geralt, she swung her legs over the bed and stood up to meet him halfway, "Hey... Uh, have you come to yell at me again?"

Without filtering, Geralt said the first thing that came to mind, "I came for you."

Her reaction time was slow, "What?"

"The only reason I came on this journey was because I came for you." Geralt admits wholeheartedly, walking slowly forward to box her, "I want you back with me."

"You want.." Her voice was low and soft, tantalizing, almost making Geralt want to shut his eyes and rest. His sucked in a breath when her palms met his cheeks, she was soft in comparison to his rough face. And when her lips brushed against his own, Geralt had very little time to react, but he didn't hesitate to meet her pace in the kiss. And when she pulled away, he almost followed, "You will not believe me when I say I've wanted that for a long time."

Geralt just stared at her, keeping level with her, and he chuckled while kissing her again, "I've known."

Jamie's features contorted and she fully backed her face from his, "What do you mean?"

"I have good hearing, Jamie." Geralt trailed his hands from her waist down to her hips, wondering what it would feel like without the fabric in the way, "It's not hard to listen to you and Jaskier talk-" Without hesitating, he picked her up and forced her legs to wrap around his waist as he straightened his posture.

Jamie just gasps and holds tightly to him, "You- Did you hear us at the banquet?"

Instead of an answer, he pressed his lips firmly against her own as he backed her towards the bed. He set her down and let his rough hands go up the end of her dress, pulling at the silk fabric. He had been craving this for years now, he had tried to force himself not to think about it. But ever since he heard that conversation at the banquet it was incredibly hard for him to do so. He brought the dress over her head, watching as her long waves of brunette hair fell down against her pale skin.

He took her in as she helped him out of his armor. Geralt released a long and low groan as she pulled his pants down, freeing his already throbbing cock.

"It's funny that this isn't the first time we've been naked around each other." Her lips pecked his chest, and he tensed up. The tenderness of her touch was so foreign he didn't know what to do about it. But his body was definitely reacting. "It's usually in a bathtub."

"We can try that next time." Geralt chuckles before embracing her in another kiss, while also laying her down on the bed. He was being careful and incredibly gentle with her. He pulled away from the kiss, trailing his lips along her jaw and neck before they were nestled between her breasts. His calloused hands kneaded at the soft flesh of her boobs, before pinching her nipples.

She inhaled and pressed her lips together to stop the noise that was bubbling in her throat. Geralt bit softly on the round side of her breasts, tugging gently at the skin before sucking on it. Leaving behind marks.

It felt like electricity against her skin. As though she had never been touched by a single person and this was the first time ever. Jamie couldn't help but continue her hands from the ridges of his abs to the underside of his cock, trailing a finger along the vein she was feeling. This caused Geralt to reach down and grip her wrists in one of his hands before he forced them up above her head. Jamie looked back at his face, it was like looking into a beautiful storm. His eyes were practically blown out with desire. Jamie just wanted him to keep touching her and she wanted to keep touching him. Raising her lower body up to press against him, she could feel the slick of his pre-cum spread along her skin, causing the pair to both groan softly. A rather needful whine coming from the back of Jamie's throat.

Jamie let out a long airy breath, "You're beautiful."

The compliment momentarily knocked the wind out of Geralt, his heart had stopped for just a moment. Barely noticeable, but those words from her was something he didn't know he ever needed. And with that, his mouth was pressed roughly against hers, practically devouring her up. Jamie gave up all control to Geralt, her full trust with him as he possessively forced his tongue into her mouth. Jamie arched beneath him, hoping to feel any friction. Her skin clung to his with sweat, their bodies molding together.

Using his free hand, Geralt lifted up one of Jamie's legs so it was partially wrapped around him. Jamie could feel something warm pressing against her slick entrance. Involuntarily, Jamie jerked her hips, wordlessly begging for him to keep going.

Pressing his hips forward, Geralt slowly sheathed himself inside of her, his shaft only halfway in when he stopped. Having to reveal her wrists from his hold or he'd squeeze down too hard and break them. Instead, he chose to squeeze her hip tightly in his hand as he kept going until he was all the way deeply seated inside of her.

Geralt moaned against Jamie's neck as he took a moment for her to adjust to him. He could feel her squeezing down on him, like he could feel her heartbeat completely at the moment. Jamie used this moment to bring a hand to the side of his waist as the other threaded through his hair. At the feeling of her nails scratching at his scalp, Geralt groaned with a jolt of his hips.

Jamie released a moan as he pressed even deeper inside of her, "Oh, yes-"

Her voice seemed to be what triggered Geralt because the second her voice filled his ears, he pulled partially out and snapped back. His hands were propped on either side of her head as he started to pick up his pace, his breathing getting harsher and uneven as he kept going. He was losing little to all control he had. His pace was getting more brutal, causing Jamie's skin to turn pink from the impact.

Jamie could no longer keep her hands up, so she dropped them down, bending them at the elbow and pushing back against the pillow, gripping the fabric tightly in her palms. She didn't even realize it but her voice was out of control, her moans filling the tent and most likely the ears of the others. But she could feel something building up. It was like she saw white suddenly. Like a wave had hit her, the bliss was so much and Jamie pressed her head back as much as she could. Her back arching, causing her waist to press against Geralt's. But he was far from being down.

Her mind was going blank as he kept going. Thrusting her through her orgasm, there was no rhythm to this thrusts anymore. His body was now completely pressed against Jamie's trapping her between him and the bed as his thrust grew spastic. A few more harsh thrusts and Geralt was carefully pulling out of Jamie, "Did I hurt you?"

"Mm-" Jamie's throat was hoarse but she smiled through it, "No, quite the opposite actually."

So, I know I haven't updated since October of last year. I am going to try and finish this fanfiction before the next season releases because then I'm going to write a whole new section of it. My life has been pretty... terrible. I wish that it was still 2020 because so far 2021 has been the worst year of my life. My father died late February and it has been so incredibly hard without him. When it came to writing, I decided to write what I wanted and what made me happy. Marvel became a big comfort to me since I was watching Wandavision around the time he had died. I just clung to that and continued with it. And I'm sorry if this chapter isn't that good. I feel like I've been in a funk with writing since February.
