OLIVIA SCAMANDER
A COUPLE DAY'S LATER
"Liv!" Oli's voice belted from the doorway of my room "Olivia! wake up!!"
"what!" I sat up, my hair everywhere and looked at him dead in the eyes... I think.
"you have half an hour to finish getting ready" he shot a menacing smile my way before bolting away.
I groaned loudly before throwing a pillow at my door, making it shut. I got up and made my bed, then I grabbed my half full suitcase
Opening it on the floor. I walked around my room looking for the few things I needed to throw in there like some more t-shirts, hoodies, trousers, skirts and toiletries. I shut the suitcase, picking it back up and placing it by my bedroom door. After that I went to see what I had left in my wardrobe to change into -
"Olivia come on! Your going to be late!" my father's voice came from the room next door
"yes father" I replied, quickly grabbing my backpack
I threw my phone charger, headphones, school robes/uniform, cat treats, jewellery and my money. I slung my bag onto my back, grabbed my guitar
And put it in the case
"Newt! Can you come help me!" I shouted loudly as I stood by the door
"ok give me a second!"
"she can do it by herself Newton..." my father's voice was low, but loud enough for me to hear him
"no it's alright" I'm glad newt wasn't good at following instructions...
I heard a few things being placed on the floor before the stairs creaked as he made his way up to my room.
"what do you want?" he asked, now standing by the door
"can you carry my suitcase, just to the car"
"of course" he shot me a sweet smile before grabbing my suitcase trailing away towards the front door and to his car, I followed behind him putting my bag and guitar in the boot as well.
I ran back into the house and straight into the kitchen to give Willow a quick hug, grabbed Nemo and said goodbye to my mum and Theseus, but as I was going towards the front door father grabbed Oli and I pulling us into the living room.
"now... You'll behave this year won't you..." he said wickedly
I couldn't look him in the eye "yes father"
"yeah dad" Oli chuckled lightly, he let him go
"look at me when you speak" he demanded, I slowly lifted my head, my eyes filling with tears but I can't cry in front of him, I'm just like newt, awkward, not very sociable and in love with magical creatures.
"yes father" I had my head up, but I still wasn't looking at him, I can't look people in the eye while talking.
"I told you to-" father started again
"she knows what to do father, she can't, you should know that by now.. If you seem to take any notice of her" Theseus had came into the living room just In time
"of course" father plastered a fake smile on his face.
"come on liv, you dont want to be too late, hm?" Theseus placed his hands gently onto my shoulders and led me slowly to Newts car. Theseus took my bag and guitar out of my hands and put them in the boot for me as I went to sit in the back seat. I waved good bye to Theseus and Mum through the car door as Newt began to drive very fast down to King's Cross...
once we'd gotten there, again this year we had to rush all the way to the train, not even getting to say goodbye to Newt. We gave our suitcases, and my guitar to the conductor and got into the train, Oli went straight for the Slytherin cabin and I went for the Hufflepuff one, I looked in all the booths before I finally found Cedric and Luna (she was allowed okayyyy) . I swung the door open, threw my bag onto the racks above and instantly laid on Cedric's lap. Both of them chuckled softly and cedric stared to stoke my hair making me slowly fall asleep...
8 HOURS AND A HALF LATER
"liv, wake up" Cedric called out
"huh? oh are we there?" I shot up from his lap
"no, no we just need to go get changed before we get there" Luna smiled from the other side of the booth
"oh okay..." I slowly stood up, grabbed my bag and followed the two of them to the changing cabin and got changed into my robes.
once I changed I folded my normal clothes back up and put them into the bag before walking out to meet with Cedric. I smiled at him, finally woken as he took my hand and pulled me back to the booth we were in before.
"don't we need to wait for Luna?" I asked looking back towards the doors we'd just come from
"she got changed fast and went straight to the booth" he replied, I just nodded. once we'd gotten back to the booth we talked about loads of random things for the last half an hour of our journey to the castle...
we took the 'self pulling' carts around from near the train station and Hogwarts its self. Once we actually got there, as usual we all headed straight to the great hall where the first years got sorted. it was boring... again usual - but the food didn't appear straight away, Instead Dumbledore started to speak
"Now we're all settled in and sorted, I'd like to make an Announcement. This castle will not only be your home this year, but home to some very special guests as well. You see, Hogwarts has been chosen," he stopped talking as Filtch said something to him, we couldn't hear his horrible low voice.
",so Hogwarts has been chosen to host a legendary event, The Triwizard Tournament. Now for those of you do not know the Triwizard Tournament brings together three schools for a series of Magical contests. For each school a single student is selected to compete. Let me be clear, if chosen you stand alone. and trust me when i say these contests are not for the faint-hearted. but more of that later. For now please join me in welcoming the lovely ladies of the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic and their Headmistress Madame Maxime!"
the girls in blue elegantly walked through the great hall doors, doing their little dance thing before their rather tall headmistress walked in behind them - of course most of the boys were gripped onto the girls seductiveness - Cedric especially. everyone was wild and clapping for the school, but then once Dumbledore lifted his arms the room silenced
"and now our friends from the north. Please greet the proud sons of Durmstrang, and their Headmaster Igor Karkaroff"
then the boys walked in, banging some sort of canes on the floor, now it was the girls chance to drool over some random people, though they didn't appeal to me, the buzz cut wasn't it for them. once they'd almost finished their little dance segment Krumm and the head master walked in together.
as we were eating a big golden thing was brought into the great hall, and yet again Dumbledore stood up and went to its side
"YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE" his voice rawred over the hall "I'd like to say a few words. Eternal Glory that is what awaits the student who wins the Triwizard Tournament, but to do this that student must survive three tasks. three extremely dangerous tasks. for this reason the ministry has seen fit to impose a new rule, To explain all this we have the head of the department of international magical cooperation Mr. Bartumous Crouch"
the ministry gut went and stood infront of the gold thing and began to speak
"After due consideration, the Ministry has concluded that for their own safety no student under the age of 16 should be allowed to put forth their name for the Triwizard tournement, this decision-" there were kids screaming and shouting at him
"that's rubbish!!!"
"you dont know what your doing!!"
"booooo!!"
"SLIENCE!" Dumbledore's booming voice managed to shut everyone up once again. the uncovered the gold to reveal a goblet with blue flames emerging from it
"the goblet of fire. Anyone wishing to submit themselves to the tournement nearly write their name upon a piece of parchment and throw it n the flame before this hour on Thursday night. Do not do so lightly, if chosen there's no turning back. As from this moment the Triwizard tournament has begun" he walked away and let us talk
"I'm going to do it" Cedric said, looking directly at the goblet
"ced, I'm pretty sure you aren't 16 yet love" i chuckled
"I am on Wednesday hun" he nudged me
i always forget that the school year at Hogwarts starts in October rather than September, and Cedric's birthday is on the 10.. which is Wednesday..
"oh.. yeah" i said lowly, picking at my cake, I'll be proud of him if he does it... but i also wont i dont want him to get hurt.
"you alright?" he asked me then
"Cedric... i dont want you to do it.. i dont want you to get hurt" i frowned
"he'll be fine, i mean who doesn't want eternal glory?" Luna, again from behind us said
"exactly! liv I'll be okay" he gave me a side hug and i nodded fakely and carried on eating...
