"They seem to be getting along super well."
George threw his gaze over to the two dogs who were running around with each other playfully, both still connected to their leashes so that they don't get lost in the darkness of the field.
It was 1:30 am and despite being exhausted, George had decided that it was the perfect time to meet up with Chungha without being noticed — they both still wore disguises though just in case.
The crisp autumn air was like ice against George's cheek and he shoved his free hand in his pocket, the thin layer of his hoodie keeping him from absolutely freezing to death.
He did have a coat, but his father raised him to be a gentleman and so, he had passed it off to Chungha the second the temperatures dropped. She protested for at least eight minutes but George was adamant.
"Yeah, Pluto is super good with other dogs actually which surprised me," George explained watching his dog run around happily.
"Bambi looks so comfortable with him, it's adorable honestly."
George chuckled, he couldn't stop himself from glancing at her feeling his heart starting to pick up in pace when he took in her features. Her rosy cheeks lit up her pale face and the red nose made her look absolutely adorable.
"Hasn't anyone ever told you that staring is rude?" She teased.
"Hmm, sorry I was trying to come up with a way to tell you that you have a little bit of chocolate on your mouth."
Chungha gasped and brought her hand up to her lip but George smirked and looked away, it was then when she realized that he was just teasing causing her to slap his arm playful.
"Hey! Abuse."
"Don't be so dramatic."
"Dramatic is my middle name, Darling."
Darling. Though it was only meant to be said as a joke, Chungha couldn't help the way her heart melted especially since his accent sounded much thicker than what she was used to.
"You see that pole over there?" George pointed and Chungha followed his finger before nodding. "Race you to it."
With that, he took off running in the direction of the pole, Pluto following him. Bambi barked and Chungha began running after him, laughter falling from her lips as George purposely slowed down.
She quickly over took him and shot him a smirk before she felt a large impact followed by two loud barks and a laugh.
She had tripped and landed on the grass, Bambi tumbling down with her. Pluto ran over and began licking her face whilst George followed, tears leaking from his eyes.
"Oh my god! That was the funniest fall I've ever seen! You nearly broke your neck-" more laughter tumbled from his lips and he couldn't even finish his sentence.
Chungha continued laying on the floor, his laughter beginning to rub off on her. Small chuckles shook her body before she broke out into hysterics, genuine laughter coming out of her mouth.
George fell down onto the floor beside her, hunched over so that he was on his knees but his head against the grass.
Chungha scoffed and playfully pushed him over so that he was on his side.
"Oh my god that was hilarious," he spoke before wiping the tears from his eyes. "Are you okay?"
"NOW YOU ASK?"
"I'M SORRY I WAS CAUGHT UP! YOU FELL LIKE A FUCKING CARTOON."
Chungha sighed, a smile still on her face as George rolled onto his back beside her. The two of them stared up at the sky whilst their dogs laid down together beside them.
"I haven't laughed like that in a while," she told him, nudging his side. "Thank you. You know, they're right about you."
George quirked an eyebrow but kept his eyes on the midnight sky.
"What do you mean? Who is 'they'?"
"Everyone that knows you personally. They all say that you know how to make someone feel like they belong."
"Woah..." George began after some time. "That's deep."
"You're so awkward!" Chungha yelled, slapping his chest.
George chuckled and placed his hand over the area that she hit, rubbing it despite the fact that it didn't even hurt.
"No but seriously, you're a really great person. I can understand why the world is so in love with you," she told him gently, turning her head so that she was looking at him.
George kept his gaze on the sky, an appreciative smile on his face. He was silent for a few seconds before he finally responded.
"Does my side profile look bad? I'm lowkey insecure right now."
"GEORGE!"
"IM SORRY OKAY BUT LIKE IS IT?"
Chungha covered her mouth with her hand to hide her laughter before shaking her head.
"No, you have a nice side profile."
George smirked. "I knew you had a crush on me."
"I literally hate you so much," she scoffed.
George grinned cheekily and poked her rib causing her to jolt and screech. The two dogs began barking at her sudden reaction and George leaned over to pet the two of them to calm them down.
With him now distracted, Chungha took this as her chance to get pay back. With one swift movement, she got to her knees beside him and began tickling him.
George screeched loudly and began rolling around whilst she carried on. His giggles echoed through the quiet field and he was pretty sure that he woke up half of Seoul with how loud he was laughing.
Suddenly, he grabbed the back of Chungha's leg and yanked her forward, not meaning to actually knock her down, though she fell across his stomach.
"Ha ha," George taunted, poking her cheek.
"I will kill you," she threatened.
"Well that's not very nice, Ms. Kim."
"You're literally so annoying!" She groaned, not even bothering to move from the position she was in, her head falling back into Bambi gently.
"You're literally so annoying," he repeated in a high pitched, girly voice.
"GEORGE!"
"GEORGE!"
She scowled at him and George laughed quietly. Suddenly, George's ringtone began blasting from his pocket and she had to lift up her body to allow him to get to it. Once the device was out of his pocket, Chungha rested her body back down on top of his stomach rather aggressively causing him to grunt.
"Oops, sorry!" She gave him a smirk.
George flicked her forehead before answering the phone.
"Hello?"
"Are you dead?" Yoongi's voice came from the other end of the line.
"Well considering I'm talking to you, no. I'm not."
"Ok. That's all I needed to know- what? No, he's not- I'm already talki- would you let me finish the goddamn sentence? Fine, here. You talk to him."
"Where the hell are you?!" Namjoon's voice suddenly met his ears. "Jungkook is refusing to tell and I know he knows."
"I took Pluto out for a walk," George responded bluntly before grunting once again when Chungha moved, pressing against his stomach. "What was that? Are you okay? Oh my god, I didn't interrupt anything sexual did I?"
"WHAT? NO! I'm- fine, I took Pluto out for a walk with Chungha and her dog Bambi."
"You're with a girl?" Namjoon questioned, shock dripping from his tone. "You haven't friendzoned her right? Calling the girl you like 'bro' isn't going to go down well."
"I haven't called her bro! That happened one time."
"Okay! Okay! Just giving you some tips. Now when will you get back so I can stop Jimin going into cardiac arrest from worrying too much?"
"Soon."
"Okay. Well, I'm sorry for interrupting. Make sure you get back soon though, you need sleep and we have a busy week ahead."
"I will. Goodbye Namjoon."
"Bye."
The phone call ended and George shoved the phone into his hoodie pocket before turning to Chungha who had her chin in the palm of her hand and a teasing smile on her face.
"You bro zoned someone?"
"It was one time and an accident," George whined.
"You're a real cutie, George Lee."
"I'm not cute, I'm like super sexy," George corrected, throwing his head back in a 'sexy' pose that just made him look like a dork. Chungha chuckled and adjusted herself so that she was now laying across his torso.
Her fingers came up to rest on his dimples and she grinned when he puffed out his cheeks, making her cup them.
Suddenly, a different atmosphere took over as they caught eyes. Slowly, he let the air go from his cheeks and his eyes flickered from her eyes to her lips as hers did the same.
Quickly, George cleared his throat.
"Should we um-"
"Yeah! Yeah we should!"
Awkwardly, the two stood up and George placed his mask back over his mouth with Chungha doing the same. The walk to George's car was quiet and kind of awkward.
"You go ahead and get in, I'll load these two in."
Chungha passed over Bambi's leash and slid into the car. George opened the back door and placed both dogs in their beds in the back making sure they were completely safe before closing the door.
George got into the drivers seat and tugged on his belt, his cheeks flushed. Chungha couldn't tell whether he was blushing or whether it was from the cold but she found him cute either way.
She took a leap of faith and grabbed onto his hand, quickly turning her head so that she was looking out of the window. George studied her for a second before giving her hand a light squeeze and starting up the car.
Slowly, she was driving him crazy but in the best way possible.
"So uh whenever you get the chance do you wanna do this again sometime?" George asked as he pulled up.
Chungha nodded her head. "I'd love to, though next time why don't we hang out alone..."
"Did you just ask me out on a proper date?"
"Maybe...if you want..."
George was hesitant, but he slowly found himself nodding his head. "I'd um...I'd like that a lot actually."
Chungha grinned and before she got a chance to back out, she was already leaning over and pressing her lips to his cheek. She then quickly got out of the car and collected Bambi before giving Pluto a pat on the head.
"Wait your jacket!" She went to take it off but George shook his head.
"Keep it."
She nodded and gave him a wave before closing the door, stuffing her hands in the pockets of his jacket as she headed up to her house.
He made sure to wait until she was inside the house before he glanced back at his dog, who was watching him curiously.
"She just kissed my cheek!"
Chungha slyly watched him start driving away through the curtains before turning to Bambi.
"I just kissed his cheek!"
