Ryuji POV
I'm currently just in my lab doing idle repairs waiting for Jiro to text me that she's ready to work on the song.
*knock knock knock*
"Who's there?" I ask
"Hey Takashi, it's me" I hear Midoriya's voice
"Come in" I say
I hear the door open and I stop working and wipe my hands off.
"So, what do I owe the pleasure?" I ask
"Well I know your busy and everything. With the preparations for the festival and working on your other projects. But I want to know if you want to go with Mirio and me to go and visit Eri. Mr.Aizawa told us that she wanted to specifically see us so I just wanted to ask" he tells me
"I'm sure that Jiro would understand. Let me just send her a quick text" I say as I pull out my phone
I send Jiro a text saying that I have to go to the hospital so I won't be able to work on the song today.
"That's cool, we can just get started on it tomorrow" she responds
"Alright, I'll meet you at the entrance of U.A" I say
Midoriya leaves and I change into some clothes that are more suitable to wear at a hospital and grab some gifts that I made for Eri. I meet Midoriya and Mirio outside and we all make our way to the hospital. Once we arrive we ask the receptionist which room Eri is in. She tells us and we make our way to the room.
"Eri!" Midoriya and Mirio exclaim as they quickly open the door
We look to see Eri sitting in a hospital bed.
"Sorry I couldn't come see you sooner" Midoriya says
"Here's a fruit basket! Eat some if you'd like!" Mirio says
"I have brought gifts" I say
"Is there a fruit you like? Can I try guessing?" Mirio asks
"It's probably apples" I say
"It's peaches, right? Cause you're like a peach!" Mirio guesses
"Apples..." Eri says
"Told you" I say
"That's what I thought!" Mirio says
"Oranges would've been better" I say
"Does it really matter?" Midoriya deadpans
"This whole time, even when I had a fever, I was thinking...about when you rescued me. But I didn't know your name. I only knew Lemillion and Takashi" Eri says
"I'm Izuku Midoriya. My hero name is Deku! Um, maybe since Deku is shorter, it's easier to remember...Deku. I'm Deku!" Midoriya says
"Hero name?" Eri says confused
"It's like a nickname" Midoriya says
"Deku" she says
"That's right!" Midoriya says proudly
"I'd much rather you call me Ryu. I only let people special to me call me that" I say
"Is that your hero name?" Eri asks
"My hero name is Avenger, but Ryu is easier" I say
"Lemillion. Deku. Ryu. And...that man wearing glasses...All of you...were injured badly because of me. Because of me, you all suffered...I'm sorry. It...it's my fault that you lost your power, Lemillion..." she says as she starts to tear up
Mirio then puts his hand on her head.
"Don't worry about it. Everyone fought because they wanted to see your smile!" He says
I then see one of that saddest things ever...I see Eri attempt to smile.
"I'm sorry...How do you smile again...?" She asks with tears brimming her eyes
In that moment I feel my eyes start to sting just a tiny bit.
"Mr.Aizawa! Could Eri leave the hospital for just one day?" Midoriya asks
"It's not impossible,but anyway, she's going to be-" midoriya cuts him off
"Then, can Eri come, too?" Midoriya asks
"I see..." Aizawa says
"The school festival. Can Eri come, too?" Midoriya asks
"I see!" I think
"School festival?" Eri says confused
"Eri, this is a great idea! A school festival is a festival that takes place at our school!" Mirio says
"Mirio let me take over in explaining, you suck at it. Anyways, a school festival is an event where all the classes make some sort of fun activity for people to enjoy. There can be things like mochi shops to haunted classrooms to a concert" I explain
"There could be candy apples!" Mirio butts in
"I was getting to that" I say
"Candy apples...?" She says confused
"It's a type of candy where they make apples, of all things, even sweeter!" Mirio explains
"Even sweeter..." she says while starting to drool a little bit
"I'll talk it over with the principal" Aizawa says
"Eri, what do you think?" Midoriya asks
"I...thought...about the people who saved me...when I was saved...I thought about how I wanted to know more about everyone" Eri says
"If there is anything you want to know then you ask me. I know basically everything" I say
"Let's work on the principal, too, to get him to say yes!" Mirio says
"Okay!" Midoriya exclaims
"I'm on break from school right now, so I can stay with you the whole time on our date!" Mirio exclaims
"Date..." I think
I then get a huge idea.
"Mirio, Midoriya, come here for a second" I say
I pull them off to the side.
"What this about?" Midoriya asks
"Ok I need you to hear me out. What do you think about introducing a kid her age to her?" I ask
"A kid her age?" Mirio says
"A few days before the raid, I saved a kid from a thug that killed his uncle" I say
"That's terrible...poor kid" Midoriya says
"What if we introduced Eri to this kid, so that we kill two birds with one stone. We work on Eri meeting new people and we help both of them getting over their grief" I explain
"Do you know how to contact them?" Mirio asks
"No but it won't be that hard to find out the kid's aunt's number" I say
"We should probably ask Eri first" Midoriya says
We break and go back to Eri.
"Eri, how would you feel about meeting someone your age?" I ask
"Someone...my age...?" She says
"Yeah! Wouldn't it be nice to meet someone the same age as you?" I ask
"I have always wanted to meet someone my age...if you say that it's ok then I'll believe you" she says to me
"Aizawa, is that ok?" I ask
"I'm sure the principal will allow it" he says
"If little Eri here is gonna be going on a date with Ren, then she needs the clothes for it" I say
"Date?" She says confused
"It's an outing taken by a man and a woman who are intimate!" Mirio says
"An outing taken by a man and a woman..." Eri says
"What are you two saying...?" Midoriya deadpans
"Oh hush it" I say
I dig through my bag and get out my gift and some clothes for Eri.
"You are lucky enough to have me here. Someone who has many talents, two of those including making things, and a good sense of fashion" I say
"You really went all out" Midoriya says
"My first gift are some clothes that I bought" I say
Eri looks at the clothes.
"They're...for me...?" She asks
"Of course they are! I don't think I'm able to fit in these" I say
"This saves time on me having to buy clothes" Aizawa says
(The classic Eri clothes)
"My next gift was a bit more difficult to make but hey, anything to make you smile" I say as I take out the gift
"Woah...it's so cute" Eri says amazed
"Wow Takashi, that's really cool!" Mirio says
"I know, I know, I am very talented. The bear and the clothes are my combination gift" I explain
"You got these...for me?" Eri asks
"Of course I did! I need to make sure I'm your favorite after all" I say with a wink
The rest of the visit goes by and eventually we are told that we have to leave. We say our goodbyes and head back to the dorms. The next day we tell Aizawa that we will be doing a concert for the festival. The day goes by and the other work study students have to go and do extra classes.
"Oh how it pays to be so smart" I say to myself
I get to the dorms and contact Ren's aunt.
"Hello?" I hear a voice say
"Is this Ren's aunt?" I ask
"Uh yes, this is her. Is there a problem?" She asks
"I'm the person who saved him at the mall incident. I'm sorry for your loss" I say
"So you're the one that Ren won't stop talking about then? I can't thank you enough for saving Ren...I don't know what I would do if I lost them both" she says
"I'm just sorry I couldn't have been there faster" I say
"We don't blame you for my husband's death at all. I'm just glad that Ren is safe" she says
"Speaking of the little squirt, how is he?" I ask
"He just got home from school. Ever since he met you he's been taking non stop about how he wants to be just like you when he is older. You should have seen him during that raid you were on. It was so adorable how he was cheering for you" she says
"Good to know that I already have a fan" I say
"If you don't mind me asking, why did you contact me today?" She asks
"Well I need his help with something" I say
"And that being?" She says
"Basically, during the raid we rescued a little girl who was being used as a test subject" I say
"Oh my, that's horrible" she says
"I know, I would like Ren's help in getting her a friend that's her age. I would like to take him with my to the U.A school festival so that he and Eri and go on a date" I explain
"Oh my, are you trying to get my nephew a date?" She asks
"I sure am. Judging by the sound of your voice, you're all for it" I say
"You bet I am" she says
"Fantastic, before I hang up, do you think I could talk to Ren?" I ask
"He would be delighted. Ren, come down here! Someone wants to talk to you!" I hear her shout
"Coming!" I hear his voice
A few seconds pass and I hear them phone being moved.
"Hello" I hear him say
"Hey there kid" I say
"Mr.Avenger!" I hear him shout
"Just call me either Ryuji or Takashi" I say
"Mr.Takashi, I watched the hero raid the other days and what you did was really cool! Crashing into the earth at such high speeds even though you could have died was super brave and cool and I just want to thank you again for..." the kid just keeps talking
"This kid reminds me of Midoriya..." I think
The kid sounds like he's about to pass out.
"Kid, take a moment to breathe" I say
I hear him stop and take a deep breath.
"S-Sorry about that Mr.Takashi" he says
"It's fine. Anyways, how would you feel about making a new friend?" I ask
"What does that mean?" He asks
"Do you remember seeing the white haired girl on TV?" I ask
"Yeah, she was glowing super brightly" he responds
"Well, she is in need of a friend her age. And since you want to be a hero, I figured that you were the one for the job" I explain
"Mr.Takashi, it would be an honor to help her!" he says
"Great! I'll come and pick you up on the day of your date" I say
"Wait, date?" He says confused
"Don't worry about it" I say
"Uh...ok" he says
"Anyways. If you save this number on your aunt's phone, you'll be able to call me whenever you like" I say
"Wow! Anytime I want?" He says
"I'm moderation" I say
"Thank you Mr.Takashi!" He says
"No problem kid. Just make sure you don't tire out your auntie" I say
"I won't Mr.Takashi!" He says
"Alright kid, see you later" I say
"Bye!" He says
I hang up and put my phone down.
"Jeez, out of all the things he could call me. He chooses Mr.Takashi...it makes me feel so old" I say to myself
"Maybe he could be your protégé? Like how Midoriya is too All Might" Arvin says
"Who knows. I'm way to young to have a successor" I say
"It's never a mad idea to plan ahead, sir" Arvin says
"I plan ahead all the time. I've got other things to think about right now though..." I say while looking at
a quirk removal bullet...
