I stumbled back and now my head is hurting.
"Are you okay?" Nick asked me as he stretched his hands to hold me.
No.
"Yeah...yeah. I am fine." I managed to say moving away from his hold.
My first instinct was to turn around and run away from him as fast as I could.
But my legs decided otherwise. They stayed there as if it had been glued to the ground.
"I am sorry I didn't see you coming." He said.
Of course you didn't see me even once.
"Oh.. it's okay." I said looking everywhere except towards him.
"Want to grab a burger?" He asked after a long pause which felt like an eternity.
"No." My answer was short and rude.
"Something to drink?" He asked again.
I can't stand here anymore or else I am sure I will agree to go with him.
"No." I said again and turned around and walked towards my bicycle. I could feel he is coming behind me but I ignored that and quickly got on my cycle.
"Hey wait!" I could hear him calling from behind but I paddled my cycle as fast as I could and ignored him.
As soon as I got home my phone is flood with Nick's message.
*Where are you?*
*I am waiting for you at the parking lot.*
* What was that?*
*Why did you ignore me?*
*Why are you not receiving my
calls?*
Seriously. I am ignoring him? This is too much. He is behaving as if I did something wrong.
Its feels like I am dealing with two different persons; one who lives in my phone and the other who mentors me in the classroom.
I chose to ignore all of that and went to take a bath. I shouldn't get anymore involved in this situation now. This is just a crush and I am going to get over it as soon as possible. Yeah, that is what I am going to do.
To stop myself from reeling today's events , I got busy with my studies. Suddenly my phone rang. I checked my wrist watch to see the time. It was 11:00pm. Nick's name displayed on the screen. Yes I saved his number.
I stuck to the decision I had made earlier and ignored his call. The phone stopped ringing and the very next second I wanted it to ring again. But it didn't.
I stared at my phone for a long time but there were no notifications. I guess he has understood I don't want to talk to him anymore.
Are you sure? Mini me asked.
I ignored her because we both know the answer to it.
This is the first time I have wanted to talk to a guy this bad but also don't want to talk to him at same time. I hate these confused thoughts.
I kept my phone aside and went to sleep.

"When will you come tonight?" Lisa asked me as we walked down the hallway.
"After school I will have to go home to grab some essentials then I will come to your place." I said her. Tomorrow is her birthday and like every other year we are going to celebrate it together.
"Okay. Don't be late." Lisa said as she went for her basketball practise and I walked towards the computer lab.
I walked really slow as I didn't want to face him. Yesterday I was so excited to go for the classes and today it's exactly the opposite. My thoughts have never been this fluctuating before.
I went inside. Three of them were standing there but Nick was no where to be seen. It really doesn't matter though.
Stop lying. Mini me said.
I chose to keep my unclear thoughts aside and focus on my class. He didn't show up the entire time.
I felt a hint of pain but this is good for me at least. This way it is going to be easy for me to get over this whole crush situation.
I went straight to my house to grab my stuffs and couldn't wait to spend a night at Lisa's.
"Mom, I am leaving." I scream as I walk out of my house.
"Wish her on my behalf too. Enjoy honey." She said.
I quickly rode to her house.
"Hello Mrs. Stewarts." I said as Lisa's mother hugged me.
"Hello sweetheart. You look lovely as always. How are you?" She asked as we walked towards the living area.
"I am good." I said as Lisa walked in and literally dragged me upstairs to her room.
"Have fun girls." I could hear her mother saying as we got into Lisa's room.
"Girl let's get dressed we are going out." I said as Lisa sat on her bed.
"What? Where? I thought we are going to put on face mask and watch a movie as always." She said completely surprised.
" You are turning 18 now. I don't want to spend it staying at home." I said to her.
Austin has planned a surprise birthday party at his place and he asked for my help. I was really excited and I knew Lisa would love it so I agreed to help him.
I wore a green dress which ended just above my knees. I let my hair fall over my shoulders and I wore a pair of heels which was not very high because I know if I wore anything higher than this I am going to trip over anything.
"Why on this Earth are you getting so dolled up?" My tom boy best friend asked me. Little did she know we were going to attend a party.
"Come on. It's my bestfriend's birthday. I deserve to look pretty and so do you. Move your butt and go get dressed." I said her.
She came literally after 5 minutes. She's a sprint. But she looked pretty. She wore a black dress which reached her mid-thigh but had long sleeves.
"God Liz you look gorgeous." I squealed as I saw her.
"I still think we are getting over dressed. If we are the only clowns there then you better get your ass prepared to be kicked." She said. We put on little make up. I did her make up with whatever little skills I have and she did mine the same way.
I was quite excited because this is the first actual party that we were attending.
I drove Lisa's car to Austin's.
"We are going to Austin's?" She asked me as I turned to the road leading his house.
"Yes, we are." I said with a smile.
"I don't know what to expect now." She said and I kept quiet with a smile.
I parked the car and we went towards the front gate of his house. As she opened the door the house was pitch black.
The very next second all the lights were switched on and everyone screamed 'Surprise'. When I mean everyone I meant it. All the folks of our class were present there. There was a big balloon which read 'Happy Bithday'.
The room was decorated with balloons and loud music started playing. Lisa looked very happy.
Thankfully everyone was dressed their best and we were not the only clowns there. She hugged Austin and I could see Austin was blushing.
"Did you plan this?" Lisa said to me as she hugged me.
"No. It was his plan. I just helped him." I said.
"Thank you so much Aus." She said to Austin.
"Let's dance now." I said and dragged them under the blue red light.
I was so exhausted with the jumping and screaming , I needed something to drink.
I went to the food counter and poured a glass of soft drink and drank it in one go.
"I didn't know you could dance so well.Would you like to dance with me?" I heard a voice behind me.
