"𝗔 𝗚𝗔𝗬 𝗖𝗟𝗨𝗕?"

╚═══════════════════╝.

"𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐁𝐄 𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑-𝐃𝐑𝐀𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐂, 𝐁𝐔𝐓 𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐄 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘 𝐒𝐔𝐂𝐊𝐒." Nas groaned, slumping down into the chair across from Missy and Mollie in the canteen. "Me dad wants me to marry some guy in Pakistan who wears loafers unironically. But little does he know, I'm actually a lesbian, and I'm in love with me teacher who wouldn't come near me if I was on fire."

Instead of trying to comfort her in the way that most people would, the two girls exchanged a smirk before looking back at Nas with grins.

"You know what you need?" Missy beamed, poking the girl's nose playfully.

"Don't say chocolate." She rolled her eyes.

"Nope. A rebound date." Mollie corrected, clapping her hands excitedly.

"You need a new girlfriend. You know, to help you get over Lila." Missy explained further.

"Right, because my life isn't complicated enough already." Nas muttered, her voice dripping with sarcasm as she rolled her eyes. "Guys, my dad wants me to have an arranged marriage. And as much as I don't want to, I hate him not being there and the thought of him being on his own. I don't wanna upset him anymore than he already is."

"What are you saying?" Missy furrowed her eyebrows.

"I can't date girls. Not Lila. Not anyone." She shook her head with an expression of sad acceptance.

"But how are you gonna be happy if you can't be yourself?" Missy pleaded with the girl, causing Nas to shake her head.

"You don't get it, do you? Girls like me can't be themselves, ever." She let out one last sigh before pushing herself up from the table and walking out of the canteen.

Mollie tried to call after her, biting her lip as she wondered whether to chase after her. But when she felt Missy's hand on her arm, she sat back down and turned towards the Booth girl.

"I feel so bad for her, Miss."

"I do too, Mol. But I think I might know something to cheer her up."

Mollie raised her eyebrows expectantly at the blonde girl. She recognized the expression on her face- it was her crazy idea face, and Mollie couldn't tell whether to grow excited or nervous. There was no telling with Missy.

A grin growing on her face, Missy turned her phone screen around so that Mollie could see. It was a colorful website advertising the new gay club that had recently opened in Leeds. Mollie raised her eyes in disbelief, trying to gauge if Missy was being serious or not.

"A gay club? That's not really Nas's thing, is it?"

"More her thing than marrying some fella." Missy retorted. "Look, Mol, I know Nas better than she knows herself. She needs this, alright?"

If there was one thing that Mollie could say wholeheartedly about Missy, it was that she was a kickass friend. She cared about Nas more than anyone, and Mollie couldn't help but think that she wouldn't be suggesting this unless she genuinely thought it was a good idea. Plus, she also couldn't deny that a night out did sound like a lot of fun.

Allowing the corners of her mouth to turn upwards into a smile, Mollie grabbed the phone out of Missy's hand to get a better look.

"Alright. What are we gonna wear then?"

✰ ✰ ✰

𝐌𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐄 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐃 𝐃𝐑𝐀𝐖𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐍 𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐄𝐘𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐑 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐀 𝐅𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐊, a satisfied smile on her face as she put the finishing touches to her make up. Her phone was buzzing relentlessly with excited texts from Missy, who couldn't believe that Nas had finally said yes to going clubbing.

After spraying herself with perfume, Mollie gave her reflection one last look. Her glam makeup was done to perfection, her hair curled and the silver glitter dress she was wearing clung to her body just right. If she didn't say so herself, she looked pretty great.

Grabbing her shoes and clutch bag, she made her way down the stairs with an excited skip and headed towards the kitchen to grab a quick slice of pizza from the fridge before she left.

Taking her by complete surprise, she came to a stop when she saw a familiar figure standing in front of the fridge. "Riz? What you doing here? Thought you and Cory had that date?"

The boy turned around quickly at her voice, his eyes widening and a warm flush taking over his cheeks as he took in her glamorous appearance. He'd seen her in her school clothes and her work uniform, but this was certainly something different altogether. She looked amazing, and he found himself speechless as he tried to formulate a sentence, but failed miserably.

Luckily for him, he was saved by Cory who entered the kitchen. "It was a complete bust. Riz, here, scared off our precious little dates."

"Nah, that's not true." Riz defended himself quickly, shooting a look over at Mollie.

The girl noticed this and smirked. "Oh please. If anyone scared them off, I bet it was you, Cory."

The Wilson boy rolled his eyes at her teasing, flipping her off with a middle finger as he leant against the counter. "Anyway, where are you off to looking like that?"

"I'm going clubbing with Missy and Nas. Some gay club in Leeds." She explained with a shrug while taking the pizza box out of the fridge.

"Looking like that?" Cory furrowed his eyebrows.

Mollie scoffed, taking a bite of pizza. "What's that supposed to mean? I got this dress off Pretty Little Thing, twenty quid reduced to seven quid. Bargain."

"Dunno, it's just so sparkly. Feel like I need sunglasses just to look at you." Cory squinted playfully at her.

"I think it's nice." Riz muttered with a shrug, shifting awkwardly on his feet. "The dress, I mean. And your make up and stuff. You look nice."

Surprised by the compliment, Mollie feet a blush creep on her cheeks and tried to bite back a smile. "Thanks, Riz."

Too busy stuffing his face with a bag of crisps, Cory hadn't noticed the moment between the two and broke it by speaking up. "It's well cold out tonight. You'd better bring a jacket so you don't catch hyperdermia or whatever it's called."

"Hypothermia." Riz corrected him with an amused chuckle.

"Ugh, my jacket's upstairs." Mollie groaned, not enthralled by the idea of going all the way back up the stairs to her room.

"Cry me a river." Cory said sarcastically with a mouthful of crisps as he left the room to go back to watch the Telly.

As the two of them were left alone, Riz cleared his throat and bit down on his bottom lip nervously before speaking up.

"You could, um, borrow mine if you wanted?"

Mollie raised her eyebrows at his offer, the corners of her lips pulling upwards into a smile. Not only was the offer really sweet, but she couldn't deny that Riz's black denim jacket was actually quite nice and would totally match with her outfit.

"You wouldn't mind?"

"Nah, course not. Like Cory said, don't want you getting hypothermia or nothing." He said, doing his best to play it cool. "Here."

He slipped off the jacket, extending it towards her. She accepted it with a smile and slipped it on, the scent of Riz's expensive aftershave immediately filling her nostrils. It was slightly oversized on her, but it actually worked perfectly with the dress. In fact, it was even better than her own jacket.

"Wow, thanks Riz." She smiled sheepishly, pulling the jacket close to her comfortingly. It was really warm, too.

"S'alright." He smiled at her with a shrug, unable to deny how adorable she looked.

She gave him an appreciative look, their gazes lingering a little longer than usual. Mollie could've sworn that she felt a small flutter in her heart, but pushed it away quickly- it was probably just excitement for the night out and nothing more. Right?

Her thoughts were quickly interrupted by the vibrating of her phone, which she took a glance at only to see about fifty messages from Missy telling her to hurry up.

"Oh shit, I've gotta go or I'll miss the train." She clapped a hand over her mouth, eyes widening. She quickly slipped on her shoes and threw her bag over her shoulder before shooting him one last grateful smile. "Thanks again, Riz. Have a good night."

And with that, she took off towards the door in a hurry, slightly chaotically because of the heels she was wearing. Riz couldn't help but chuckle in amusement at the girl, who always managed to surprise him somehow. Picking up the can of Coke that he'd originally came in to get, he couldn't stop smiling as he walked back into the living room and took a seat beside Cory on the sofa. Maybe the night didn't end so badly, after all.
