Seems like whatever I said to Storm the day he arrived The Baxter Tower didn't have any effect on him, because he spent all his time trying to be around me when he wasn't training or doing tests around the Tower, it seems like he is amused by me ignoring him since sometimes he just stayed by my desk going through his phone while I worked on the computer, we didn't talk because I didn't want to address his presence at all, but he just stays there anyway.
Whenever he talks to me or address me, he just ask some question I ignore or tries to tease me to get any kind of reaction, but I will not budge, on the other hand when I did have to spare a word to him it was either an attempt to sass him away without much result or just tell him something regarding our work that he takes as a cue to start a conversation that I don't follow.
Every time Sue, Reed, Ben or Leo try to address his presence close to my work space I just ignore them while he makes any cocky remark like "he likes me too much to let me stay away for too long" or the most famous one "he just can't live without me", none of them true at all, but one thing came out from his remarks, Leo have been around me a lot more ever since Johnny is spending time on my work space, guess I do have one thing to thank him for...not that I will.
Anyway, today was a little eventful because a spaceship came around the city and everybody was pretty damn scare that we could have something like the invasion of 2012, but thankfully it didn't escalated, there were some reports about Ironman being there with other people, but soon we were back to work because we will launch the Space Station in about two weeks from today, which means no chill for anyone
"Hey babe, I bought you some coffee" - said Leonard walking to me with two cups of coffee in his hands
"You are a savior" - I said taking one of the cups and sipping the coffee
"Is nothing" - said Leo with a smirk before turning to Johnny who as usually was sitting across my desk going through his phone like he didn't have anything better to do but to annoy me with his presence - "Storm" - he greeted more serious
"Cruz" - said Johnny with the same seriousness
"How's work today babe?" - asked Leo
"A lot to do, the launch is in 2 weeks, so literally, I have no chill until is up there and functioning well" - I explain to him
"So you will be calm once is in orbit?" - asked Leo
"I wish, but since we have to wait for the year trial with that thing up there to see if it can remains long enough before using it for investigations or other things" - I said
"Are you sure that is gonna happened? I mean what about if we have another spaceship coming around?" - asked Johnny
"Then the Space Station is a good option as defense as well and not only for investigations and experiments" - I answered addressing him because it was something related to work - "besides Doom told us to not stop our work just because something like that happened, is not our business" - I added
"Talking about him, I should get back to him, my break is almost over and I just came by to load your coffee addition" - teased Leo - "see you later" - he said giving me a peck on the lips and walked away, he have been doing more spontaneous kisses lately, but I don't complain, is a good souvenir for these days
"Johnny tell me it isn't true" - asked Sue approaching him in her "Mom Mode" as I like to call it
"What?" - asked Johnny as he looked at her with Reed and Ben following her
"Sorry, I think I may have slip out our orders to them" - apologized Ben
"Tell me you aren't going to fight whatever alien comes around in case of an emergency" - nagged Sue
"Great we're all gonna die" - I complained/teased
"Emmet!" - Complained Sue a little mad but Reed reached her hand to calm her
"He is just grumpy because lack of sleep, nothing personal" - said Johnny and I rolled my eyes at him defending my words, some knight in fucking shiny armor
"You guys shouldn't be doing that, that's The Avengers work, not yours" - said Sue
"I gotta follow orders Susie, but I think they are not gonna need us, Ironman was there after all so he may be around" - said Johnny
"If it wasn't a fly that moved around the camera during the filming a hundred miles away from where the spaceship was floating, then yeah he was" - I said - "besides, people are just paranoid ever since 2012 and Sokovia" - I added
"I thought The Avengers have troubles with the government after the Captain America confrontation about the Sokovia Accords 2 years ago" - said Reed
"But not all of them, some of them are still working" - said Ben
"It's gonna be fine Susie, I promise" - said Johnny
"See? Everything is gonna be fine babe, let's go back to work before your father notice we are late from our break" - said Reed starting to walk with Sue
"Johnny..." - warned Sue pointing at him before walking away with Richards
"I know, I know" - said Johnny while also Ben walked away
"What do you know?" - I ask curious now while typing something on the keyboard
"To not get into any kind of troubles playing hero, she had a hard time when I went away on the military service and mostly when got hurt on the battlefield one time" - said Johnny
"You got shot?" - I asked stopping before turning to look at him
"Yeah on my arm, here" - said Johnny pointing to a part of his bicep that had a scar while flexing it just to show
"Huh...well you survived, that's the good thing" - I said before turning back to work
"Emmet, I need your help, can you come to see something" - called a co-worker
"Sure Ross" - I said standing up from my desk and walk with Johnny following - "can you stay on my desk or something? I don't need you to follow me around" - I say annoyed
"I'm just making sure you are safe" - said Johnny cheerfully
"Such a hero" - I said annoyed rolling my eyes
We walked to the elevator that took us to the computer server room of the building where the supercomputers and big irons are located, I think Storm hasn't even come near this part of the building because he was starting everything in awe.
"So, this one stopped working just about 5 minutes, we tried to run some test on it but nothing" - said Ross pointing at a big iron
"Have you run tests on the others?" - I asked
"Yeah they are all performing well" - said Ross
"What about the compatibility?" - I asked
"I...think we didn't think of that" - said Ross
"If everything is working fine and this one stopped working, must be one of the other ones that is working along with it, something must be wrong with the interface of one of them, we better hurry before the one that is doing double job burns out" - I explained
I walked with both of them to the control room and started to click on buttons and looked at the window where we could see the server room hoping for my signal to come until I finally saw it, a blue light was flicking on one of the supercomputers that were above the ones on the ground, maybe that is the one that is not working well and compromising the work of the one that isn't doing anything.
"Ok, here" - I said grabbing a walkie-talkie from the table and giving one to him - "I'm going back inside, I tell u when to reset the system" - I said before stepping inside the computer room with Johnny following me
"What are you going to do?" - asked Johnny
"Click the blue button, then do a quick code on the panel that is next to it and it should be alright" - I said - "and you are gonna help, for once" - I told him and he smirked excited - "get that ladder, you are gonna keep it steady for me" - I explained
Johnny walked to the direction I pointed where the ladder was and bring it close to where I was standing, I climbed up on it to do my work while he keep it steady for me.
"Storm, you better not let me fall on this" - I say turning to him
"I'll catch you if you do" - said Johnny winking at me
"Whatever" - I said but before I turned to work I saw him staring with a look I was familiar with - "are you staring at my ass?" - I asked confused
"Is not my fault you have a nice ass" - said Johnny with a cheeky grin on his face
"Focus Storm" - I said rolling my eyes before turning to do my work and once I was ready I grabbed my walkie-talkie - "Ross you can now reset the system" - I said and the supercomputer turn off but it doesn't turn back on - "Ross, what happened?" - I ask on the walkie-talkie before turning to the window but no one was there - "Ross?" - I ask on the walkie-talkie before feeling the ladder shook a little - "Storm stop playing around" - I said annoyed turning around but he wasn't there - "Storm?" - I called but nothing - "Johnny this isn't funny I can't get dow -" - I started to say before I felt lightheaded and one of my hands was numb, when I turned to see my hand was turning to ash - "WHAT TH-" - I back off scared and my balance throw me off the ladder but I never hit the ground.

A/N: Yes guys, we are just going through the events of "The Snap" on this story, Who else turned into ash? Who stayed behind during the 5 years gap? Those questions are gonna be answer on the next chapter, so keep an eye on this one.
In this chapter we have the cameo of Hamish Linklater who played Leo on the 2005 "Fantastic Four" film, he was the nerdy assitant of Doom and I switch things up turning him into the sexy latin assistant of Doom and Emmet's booty call on this fic instead.
