Athira's POV.
It's already 9 in the evening yet my phone is still ringing nonstop since I got here and I'm not planning to answer any of those calls especially it's from that damn Cullen. I know Cullen didn't do anything wrong to me but still I can't help myself but to feel irritated at him especially he just stared at her fvcking ex who was shouting at me, how could they?!
They should be thankful that I let that fvcking scene pass because if not I would literally rip all their heads off. I also don't know what's got into that Louis's tiny fvcking brain to tell me that he wants me back, that he wants to continue our marriage, damn him. Damn all of them!
*Kring Kring*
Argh, why wouldn't he stop calling me?! I reached for my phone to check if it's still Cullen but it turns out it's from an unknown number. Now, who could this be? I felt myself calming down and answered the phone with a smirk plastered on my face. I lowered my voice not thinking to use my usual tone when I answered the phone call because it might be from someone who wants to get rid of me and use my voice in order to gain access to something that may be connected to me.
"Who's this?", after I exclaimed this the person on other line suddenly gasped and answered
"Oh, i'm sorry. May I ask if this is Athira?", the moment I heard her voice I can't help it but to be shocked because of the person whom I'm talking to at the moment.
"Haigh, is that you? where did you get my number? why are you looking for me?" after I asked her this diko napigilan na ilayo yung phone ko sa tenga ko when she surprisingly shouted
"I almost didn't recognize you! I just wanted to ask if you're okay?"
"Ha? I mean why are you suddenly asking me that out of the blue? Is there any problem?" It's really shocking that this person is suddenly asking me things like this— Diko alam kung anong binabalak niya pero I'll just go with the flow because if she's good at acting then I am too.
"I'm sorry to surprise you by asking you that in an uncomplicated way, me and V can't help ourselves but to worry about you the moment we found out that Mina attacked you." the moment I heard the word attacked I can't help myself but to scoff, the heck is wrong to the person who gave that false information to these barbie girls? Ako pa tuloy yung nagmukhang kawawa, are they some kind of embarrassing me? Yna—attacking me? more like Yna's moment of dying.
"I'm all good— Mina's also fine, I hope."
"I don't care about her, why is she fine? You should've slammed her head on the floor like what you did to that big guy in the canteen." Wait? how does she knows about that? I mean I don't remember seeing her that time, is she stud— no, are they studying me?
"Lol, don't bring that up. I'm feeling conscience again because of what I did to Steve back then, haven't you heard, he died from a car crash?" Instead of answering me immediately there's suddenly a moment of silence between us not until she talked again
"I'm sorry, I forgot about that. I hope he's already in a good place now but are you really sure that you're okay? You know me and Vanehsa could get you a revenge against that Mina." Okay, now that's not what I'm expecting. I don't know why they're wanting to get a revenge for me and what's in it for them, I don't know if they're a threat to me or not but maybe I'm just overthinking things or something yet still I'm going to find out what do they truly need to me and why are they acting like this.
"Hahaha, it's okay Haigh. I can assure you, I'm all good." After I told her this she just sighed heavily because of defeat and blurted out
"Okay, fine— but Athira, can you do me a favor?" Damn it, I think now I know why she's acting so weird like this.
"Yeah, what is it?"
"Can you—uhm, can you open your condo's door—" before she could finish what she was about to say I quickly wore my mask and took my gun over my dining table and prepared myself for what might happen next
"And why is that— I mean, are you outside my condominium? I'm sorry but I'm not really comfortable letting visitors get in my place."
"Hahaha, it's okay I understand you but I'm not there. I just wanted to ask you to open your door because I'm worrying about Cullen he's been out there since he got out from a bar and Liam and Nick can't let him get in his condo and leave your door because he's being so hard-headed." I didn't expected what I just heard from her and I can't help myself but to feel worry, annoyed, and curious about Cullen. I mean, why is he being like this? Is he some kind of a nuts?
"Is he okay? What happened?"
"Yes he's fine yet he said he was not drunk, tipsy lang daw. Di ko alam kung anong totally na nangyari, all I know is that he went to a bar and drink some alcoholic drinks. Tangina, I'm gonna give that fvcking Mina what she deserves. Damn her." I don't think I should be hearing that last sentence that she've just said, damn. She's already exposing her true self, interesting.
"Okay, I'll go check on him. I'll see what I can do to make him get into his condo."
"Thank you, Athira. We'll make it up to you talaga, sorry for bothering you it's just that Cullen's really important to us." Of course, he is. He's your mafia organization's heir, why wouldn't he be not important?
"Sure thing." After I told her this, I ended the call and went to the door but before opening it I hid my gun in the nearest drawer since this is the closest spot that I could reach the gun if something bad happens.
The moment I opened the door, the guy whom I was expecting suddenly stood up and exclaimed
"About what happened awhile ago, I just wanted to apolo—" before he could finish what he was about to say I quickly slapped him on his face
"You smell bad. What are you doing outside my door? Why did you drink alcoholic drinks if you can't even control your damn self? You're being a pain in the ass, you're making your friends worry about you. Don't you even feel embarrassed to them and to your own self? Are you drunk? What the fvck happened to you? What did you do? Shit, Okay ka lang ba?" based on what I'm seeing on his face right now, he looks like he wanted to say something but yet he chose to not to talk
"And you're not gonna answer me? Gusto mong hulaan ko pa kung anong isasagot mo sa mga itinanong ko sayo?" instead of answering, there was a moment of silence between the both of us when he instantly talked
"Did I worry you?" After he asked this, I can't help but to stare right into his eyes and answered
"Of course, Even though you're annoying and kind of stupid, I can't help myself but to worry about you. So please, take care of yourself." After I told him this, he unexpectedly hugged me and without warning I suddenly felt myself hugging him back.
"I'm sorry, Athira. I just can't help myself but to feel this way the moment that shit awhile ago happened, I was scared— when you didn't answered my calls and didn't even bothered talking to me. I can't help but to feel frightened thinking that I might lose you and I-I don't want that to happen. I'm sorry, I promise that any of this shits won't ever happen again and if you're thinking that I'm only saying this because I'm drunk just to assure you I'm not. Please— give me a chance, I'm really sorry." After I heard him say this, I suddenly felt warmth and without any notice I unexpectedly answered him something that literally shocked my whole existence— that I know that I can't take it back anymore
"I love you."
