Fatima's POV
So now everyone is shouting at me just because of Hafsa good. I decided I won't laugh with anyone today,if I go to the parlour I will greet them and sit down quietly I will just talk to maheer.
When I woke up the next day,I went to bathe then came down to eat food.
"Mama Ina kwana"I greeted her
"Lafiya"She answered. I kept quiet I didn't greet Ya Afiz. I saw him giving me bad eye but I ignored it.
"Maheer where is baba?"I asked maheer
"He went out to meet his childhood friend"he said
"Okay"I said. Why will baba go to meet his childhood friend in the early morning.i just brushed the thought
"Aria won't you greet your brother"mama asked and I ignored her
"Am I not talking to you"she said
"Ya Afiz Ina kwana"I muttured
"Lafiya how was your night?"he asked
It was very great after what you did I said in my mind
"Alhamdulillah"I said not interested
After I was done eating I left to my room because I don't want anyone to force me to talk.
"Ya Aria"maheer called
"Yes,I'm in the bathroom"I said washing my face
"Befast and come out"he said
"Okay give me one minute"I said
"What do you want to tell me"I said immediately I came out of the bathroom
"Mama said you should come that Baba's friend family are coming for launch"he said
"Okay tell her I am coming"I said and he left
I went downstairs and met mama,nusaiba Ya Afiz and maheer in the kitchen.
"Mama I am here"I said
"So now you have learn to start hiding in your room ba"she said
"Mama I'm sorry"I Said
"Better be" she said
"Now I will share the work you all will do today"mama said
"Nusaiba"mama called
"Yes ma"she said
"Are you done with all your house chores?"mama asked nusaiba
"Yes I'm done ma"she said looking down
"Good. You will cut the vegetables and grind pepper, onions, tomatoes in the blender"mama told her
"Okay ma"she said and started working
"Afiz"mama called
"Yes mama"he said
"You will put the water and drinks in freezer so it can be cold before they come"mama told him and he nodded
"Maheer"mama called
"You will be given plates,cups and utensils to arrange on the dinning table"mama told him
"Okay mama"he said
"Aria,you will be the one to make coconut candy,,doughnut,wafers,crustards,
Cuppochino,Apple slice cookies"mama said and opened my eyes all this for me
"Mama who will cook the food"I asked
"I will be the one to cook it"
"Mama what will you cook?"I couldn't help but ask
"Jollof rice,couslaw and fried chicken"mama said
"Okay"I said
"Oya everyone go and start doing your work"mama said
"Mama how many plates,spoons and cups am I taking to the dinning table"maheer asked
"10 each"mama said
"Mama is 12drinks and 12water okay or I should add"asked Ya Afiz
"It Is okay"mama said and he left
Everyone finished his remaining me but I will soon be done just remain frying. After 1hour I was fine with all.
"Maheer,nusaiba"I called
"Yes"nusaiba said
"Help me pick the rest and take them to the dinning" I told them.
When we were done mama told all of us to go and get ready they will be here anytime soon.
I was thinking of the clothe to wear. I wore a black gown with a white veil,I did small make up and carried my phone. I saw 14missed calls,10 from Hafsa,2 from Maryam and 1 from Ya Amal.
I called Maryam and Ya Amal. Later I just decided to call Hafsa. She picked on the first ring
"Hello Fatima"said Hafsa
"Hii Hafsa"I said
"How are you?"she asked me. After all the thing she caused she is asking me I thought
"I'm fine Alhamdulillah and you"I asked
"I'm fine too"she said. We didn't talk again. Later Hafsa decided to speak
"Fatima I'm sorry"she apologized
"For?"I asked
"For the things I caused the day I came to your house"she said feeling guilty
"No problem,it is in the past"I said
"Thank you"she said
"Wait,how did you know you caused trouble for me"I asked
"Nnn... nothing"she said stammering
"Why are you stammering?"I asked
"Okay I will tell you but promise me you won't tell the person"she said
"I promise" I said
"It was Ya Afiz"she said. So now he is telling her all that they did to me. I couldn't help but cry.
"Fatima I'm sorry"she said again
"No,it is fine"I said but my heart was breaking
"Okay bye"I told her. I hanged up didn't wait for her to answer.
I cried again. The thing is heart breaking. How can he do this to me,first he shouted at me,he told mama I was the cause of Hafsa to leave the house without goodbye,mama shouted at me and now he is telling her all that they did to me. Why me???I cried to sleep
"Aria"Ya Afiz shouted
"Yes"I said
"The visitors were here since what are you doing in your room"he asked
"Nothing"I said and entered the bathroom washed my face. I did make up again then came downstairs.
When I was coming down I could feel everyone's gaze on me but didn't look at them.
"Ina wuni"I greeted keeping my head down
"Lafiya kalau"they both answered
"Is this Fatima?"their father asked
"Yes she is the one"baba said
"She has grown up"their father said
"Come and hug me"their mother said and I went to hug her.
"You are beautiful"their mother said
"Thank you"I said shyly. All this while I was looking down
"Look at me dear"their mother said. When I looked up I saw she looks like Maryam.
"Fatima"Maryam said and hugged me
"Maryam,I missed you"I said and hugged her back
"So how are you"she asked
"I'm fine and you"I said
"I'm fine too"she said
"Do you know each other"both parents asked together
"Yes we do"Maryam said
"We are in the same class"I told them
"Ohh,I remember so you are the Fatima this girl has been talking about everyday"Maryam's mother said who I learnt her name is Aunty suwaiba
"Yes"Maryam answered
"Where is your first born"my father asked Maryam's father who i learnt his name was uncle Abdullah
"He is on his way coming from office"uncle Abdullah said. Later we heard a voice
"Hello"Maryam's brother said who I learnt his name is Muhammad but they call him Ya Ahmad
"Wa Alaikumussalam"his parent answered
"Ohh sorry Salam"he said
"Why did you come late"uncle Abdullah asked
"There was hold up on the road"he said sounding a bit rude
"Okay"his dad said
My dad introduced all of us to them and they did same. When Muhammad came he didn't notice me it was later when my father was introducing us he heard my name and looked up to see me. When he saw me he smiled at me and turned
"Let's go and eat food"mama said
"Wow this Apple slices cookie is sweet who made it?"Muhammad asked
"It was Fatima that made it"mama said earning a blush from me
"Wow she can cook"aunty suwaiba said surprised.
Muhammad was looking at me and that made me uncomfortable.When we finished eating mama told us to leave them and I told Maryam to come to my room. We gisted about everything.
I was coming down when I heard uncle Abdullah saying "Fatima is a nice girl I want to ask for her hand in marriage for my son"immediately I heard that my heart was pounding I quickly went back to my room.
"Fatima what happened"asked worried Maryam
"Nothing"I said
We bid goodbye and they left
