Hailey POV:
It's a peaceful night with Jay. Nothing complicated. We sit at the bar of our kitchen.
Jay: So, I've been thinking a lot about something and I want to run it by you.
Hailey: Okay. Shoot.
Jay: Buying an engagement ring.
A what? A ring? Are we ready for that?
Hailey: Jay,-
My phone rings. It's Sara. I need to answer it to get out of this awkward conversation.
Hailey: Hey.
Sara: Sister, I really fucked up. I need you.
Sara's slurring her words. She's drunk. She was really bad drunk. She's crying.
Hailey: Sara, where's Adam?
Sara: He's gone. I don't know where he is. He took Noah. He took my child.
Hailey: What about the other kids?
Sara: They are at the house with me.
Hailey: You know he wouldn't take Noah anywhere unsafe.
Sara: He took him though. That's my kid.
Hailey: It's also his kid.
Sara: If you won't help me find him, I'll just find him myself.
Hailey: What about the kids? You can't leave them home alone. You don't need to go out yourself.
Sara: That's why I need you.
Hailey: You don't need me. You need to stay home.
Sara: No, I need to go by the store. I drank all of Adam's liquor and he's going to be bad when he sees it gone.
Hailey: I'm coming over there now.
I hang up
Jay: What's going on?
Hailey: Sara is drunk as hell and I need to go fix her mess.
Jay: Okay, I'll come with, but we need to talk about an engagement ring.
Hailey: We will.
