E Gadd was talking to Luigi, but I couldn't make anything out of what he was trying to say. Something about tests...?
"Anyway, there's something I like to show you," the scientist said as he held up a glass container with a strange ball inside that was floating, "these are called spirit balls, they crest illusions and someone is making a mess with them in the gloomy manor..."
Slowly, I sat up right on the sofa, and was met with a ponding headache. "You mean something is in there making those things? Is that why those suits of armour were gone?"
E Gadd nodded and started to type stuff on his computer, "precisely! Now there is a special device in my lab called the dark light, I made two of them. But because of the chaos that occurred I haven't been able to retrieve them."
"So you would like me to go grab them? And find out whoever is doing this...?" Luigi said with hesitation. E Gadd gave a firm nod.
I got up from the sofa, my legs felt weak but I wasn't letting that stop me. "Please let me go, I don't want Luigi going on his own..."
"You can't risk hurting yourself even more," Luigi resorted, "plus E Gadd has to run some tests to create something able to help you."
E Gadd cleared his throat and shuffled of the high seat he was in, and walked over to the sofa were my poltergust laid close. He grabbed it and then gave it to me, "stay safe, if anything happens come back, Immediately."
I slowly nodded and firmly grasped the poltergust and put it on my back. "I will, promise."
Luigi didn't look pleased about me going but didn't talk back, E Gadd then prepared the pixelator, "are you ready?" We both nodded as we were then zapped to the gloomy manor.

Once we arrived, I made my way to the lab, Luigi followed close behind. "Hey y/n? I have to ask you a question?"
When I opened the doors I looked at him with a raised brow. "Go on..."
"Are the ghosts eyes white because you are technically their...leader?" Luigi questioned.
My face filled with confusion, "you mean there eyes are white because when I'm a ghost cat my eyes are white?" Luigi nodded and I let out a small sigh, "I'm pretty sure that ghosts with white, or any colour, eyes have good in them, yellow eyes I believe there restless spirits with anger."
Luigi gave a nod in understanding, "did your mother have yellow eyes?"
"Yes...yes she did, but that all I can remember about her." I muttered. "Maybe that's for the better."
We got to the lab door and it turned invisible and what followed was the all to well cackle. "We know that laugh all too well..." Luigi whispered in disbelief.
The ds started to ring and Luigi quickly answered, "did I just see the door...disappear?"
"Yes...yes you did," I simply put, I heard E Gadd growl in Annoyance.
"Whoever is releasing those spirit balls is having a good time, there has to be another way in that room. Be careful you two!"
Luigi hung up and huffed in Annoyance, "great...just like old times!"
I chuckled at his sarcasm and was deep in thought, "does the parlour upstairs have a fireplace?"
"Yes it does."
"Maybe that fireplace also has a hatch like the bedroom does with the art studio?" I said a little uncertain. Luigi shrugged but happily decided to give it a shot.
We headed up the stairs and entered the parlour. "So we're going to head down the fire place?" I gave a small nod to Luigi's question, he looked back at her a little uncertain.
Spirit balls then floated from the lab bellow and make the grandfather clock disappear, followed by a creepy laughter.
"Well...let's go down..." I muttered, however Luigi grabbed my shoulder, I looked back at him confused.
~Luigi's PoV~
"I think I should go down there, not you." I simply whispered, I couldn't let y/n go down into the lab, if there's boo's anywhere then he could also be around. She seemed to get what I was hinting at and nodded.
"Should I go back down stairs and wait...?" The H/c girl muttered, she was reluctant but I couldn't let her get hurt.
I sighed and looked at her, "yes...don't worry, I'll be fine, trust me."
Y/n raised her brow but shrugged heading towards the door, however she looked back at me as I stud on the now unlit fireplace and saluted before I felt myself fall to the first floor.
With a loud thud I landed on my rear and in the lab, "why couldn't it of been a bit safer?" I muttered to myself, I then noticed the rainbow flashlight on a stand. "That must be the dark light!"
Carefully, I walked towards the beautiful lights and went to grab them, but of course, a greenie with...shades...appeared and stole them right from under my nose.
"Of course we're doing this the hard way..." I growled in Annoyance. One shades greenie appeared and I quickly sucked the glasses off his face and stunned him, later capturing.
"Luigi...? Are you ok, did you get the dark lights?" Y/N's soothing voice echoed through the room.
I turned towards the small hole in the wall and my gaze softened, "I'm fine, but some ghosts stole the dark light devices..."
She hugged in Annoyance, but soon fear showed on her face, "Luigi look out!" I turned around and a greenie was ready to punch me.
Luckily I dodged in time before it's fist could hit me, and Y/N's hands glowed purple as she shot fire at the ghost, causing it to scream in fear. I caught it quickly and the dark lights shot out of the poltergust.
I grabbed them with out any hesitation and attached one to my poltergust, just then a call from E Gadd erupted through the room.
"Luigi you got the dark light devices! Great job!" E Gadd sounded so happy that I couldn't help but smile, "if you use the dark light device it can reveal invisible objects, you also need to find out whose using these spirit balls..."
"Don't worry we'll find them!" I proudly said. After we exchanged goodbyes, I used the dark light device on the invisible door and sucked up all the balls, and it reappeared.
Once I exited out of the lab and into the hallway, I saw Y/n on her knees in pain. "Y/n!? What's wrong!?"
"Using my fire has drain me...I'm guessing you got the dark light devices?" I nodded as I gave her the other one, she thanked me and attached it onto her flashlight. "I think I should go back, but will you be ok on your own?"
I firmly nodded and gave y/n a warm yet sympathetic smile, whoever broke the dark moon is going to pay. "I'll be fine, please rest when you get back to E Gadd, alright?"
Y/n nodded and gave me a gentle kiss on the cheek, I called E Gadd and he teleported her away...
~Y/N's PoV~
When I arrived back I felt to the ground and E Gadd welcomed me back, helped me up and demanded that I should rest. He's like a father to me and that's something I've always wanted...a father figure after my father was possibly killed by King boo.
"Do you think Luigi can handle it on his own...?" I asked as I sat down on the sofa.
E Gadd looked back at me and nodded, "you and him are one in the same, both are wondering if the other can do it alone...which is sweet."
"Well of course, we've been living together for like...4 years? And we never left each others sides, even when the mushroom kingdom was being attacked we would join Mario in his quests."
The scientist chuckled and gave me a toothy grin, "you have quite the adventures don't you?" I hummed in response as I was beginning to lie down however E Gadd said something that caught me off guard.
"Your the closest thing I have to a daughter."
"What...?" I muttered, E Gadd hopped off his chair and made his way over to me, I sat back up as he held my hands.
"You see...I've always wanted someone to love and kids, but because of my ghost research I pushed all that away, when you and Luigi first arrived I felt the need to protect you..."
I was shocked at what E Gadd said, giving him a warm smile I patted him on the shoulders, "you could be my stepfather? I didn't really grow up with a father so..."
"Would you want that?" E Gadd asked I nodded and he was wiping away tears that started to roll down his cheeks. "This must be the happiest day of my life!"
I laughed as E Gadd smiled widely he then turned his attention to the sofa, "oh yeah I should be resting." I replied as I laid down and E Gadd went back to his computer.
"You'll need rest as I'm preparing tests for you, so Luigi will be on his own next mission," E Gadd stated. I gave a quiet him in response before falling asleep to keep my strength.
~Luigi's PoV~
Once I wandered the hallway and shone the dark light on a painting, which spat out a key, and the door that needed that key. Once I unlocked the door I found myself on the patio which lead to the kitchen.
E Gadd did pin the location of whoever is using the spirit balls, being in the dining room. I sighed and stared at the door for a few seconds before swinging it open, all I saw was two greenies and three hiders, I of course defeated them all but with a few cuts and bruises.
"Now for the dining room..." I whispered to myself, looking around the kitchen just seeing how empty it was, "I wish y/n was here..."
Pulling on the rope, the food elevator opened up and I crawled in and sent strait up to the dining area.
A cackled echoed through the room as I slowly shuffled my way off the elevator and saw none other than a boo releasing those spirit balls and turning the huge table invisible before leaving through one of the windows.
"Ok ok, time to do this..." I said to myself as I activated the dark light and shot it on where the dining table was before, spirit balls then popped out and I reluctantly sucked them all up.
Once the boo returned he look confused then shot a glare at me, "well well if it isn't Luigi! Here to ruin the fun are we?"
"Yes, and restore the dark moon..." I stated, hatred laced my words as the boo cackled at me.
"You? Restore the dark moon? That's if you can make it out alive!"
With that, the boo flew at me, but I ducked and he disappeared. Fear washed over me as I tried to scan the room. "Wait, the dark light!" I switch it on and shone it around the room, finding the boo around the food elevator.
His tongue was out so I did the unthinkable and caught it in the poltergust, pulling back and released. Watching as he bounced around the room.
When he was left all dizzy I sucked him up and let out a sigh of relief. E Gadd then called, "good job catching that boo Luigi!"
"Thank you, but how's y/n?" I asked in an instant.
"She's fine also I have some news to share with you!" He happily said, "hold on I'm bring you back!"

Once I was back in the bunker I noticed Y/n sleeping on the sofa, which I couldn't help but smile at. "Let's get those ghosts down to the vault!"
As the boo and ghosts were sent down E Gadd swivelled in his chair, "what was the news you wanted to tell?"
"So I've always wanted to have a family and because I've never had a chance, Y/n has decided to be my step-daughter!"
I happily smiled for the scientist, "I'm very happy for you E Gadd, speaking of which how's y/n doing?"
"She's doing well, resting for now, so your going to do the next mission alone," E Gadd said, yet he looked a little troubled, "and there's already a large problem in the gloomy manor."
I raised a brow, anxious to know what the problem was, "what's happened?"
"The mansion has been overrun by spiders."
