Am I Wrong?

"How do you tease someone who likes you?"
"Simple! Just point out the features they like about you the most."

"So, Namjoon Hyung is your...." "NO!" "Okay... he's your fav..." "Anyway...!" "Why is he your...." "DON'T!!"

This has been going on for a while now. One thing was for sure, whatever primary inhibitions, uncertainty and ineptness once were in Mishil and Namjoon's relationship was now bound to be wiped out, as she tried to hide from the boys using Namjoon's broad frame.

The members were now blasting Mishil with questions that the flushed and mortified girl cut off even before it fully formed a sentence, let alone answered them. The instant Namjoon had grasped the fact, that he was his soulmate's bias, he spun around sideways and met Mishil who was red-cheeked, wanting the ground to swallow her up.

"Yah!" It was Yoongi who'd interjected and thank God he did! If not, then this squabbling between the members and Mishil could have been sustained for hours.

"So what if Namjoon-ah's her bias? That's perfect! I bet she already knows a lot of stuff about Namjoon. That's good for both of them. Now, leave them alone. And......"

Yoongi looked at all of them, standing up.

"I'm gonna go and take a nap and I swear if you guys' bickering wakes me up, I'll not be liable for the costs." Yoongi saved them each a glimpse, daring them to test his warning, and then, promptly went into turtle mode, slowly walking to his room.

The rest stared at his retreating figure until he was out of sight and fell into hushed whispers.

"Is he always like that?" Mishil asked, looking at the others. "Only when he's too tired," Hoseok answered, looking back at the place where Yoongi was standing just moments ago.

"What happens when you do wake him up?" The response to Mishil's question was worth a watch. Jin and Hoseok visibly shuddered while Namjoon and Jungkook bit down a smile. Taehyung leaned on her shoulder, silently laughing while gesturing for her to look at Jimin. He seemed pissed!

"He once threw me! Legit threw me across the room for screaming and waking him up." The girl blinked twice, not knowing how to respond to that information before silently breaking into a laugh.

The 7 of them talked and laughed for a bit more in hushed voices, not wanting to risk their lives and soon they all retired to their rooms. Once in the room, Namjoon's whole manner shifted.

"For real now Mishil, who is your bias?" He asked, towering over his soulmate. She was at a loss for words at her soulmate's sudden question, stunned out of the speech. "You don't believe me?" She asked, finally recovering enough to question back. "If I did, why would I be asking you? Come on now! Tell me who is your bias?" It's funny how Mishil had misjudged the actions of her soulmate.

The astonishment on his face was not because of the point that he was his soulmate's bias but because he couldn't believe that she had lied. The face he had given her was not of surprise but disbelief. How was she supposed to even respond to this?

"What makes you think that I lied about you being my bias?" Mishil demanded, her tone rugged. "Please!" Namjoon scoffed "I'm not blind okay? I've seen the way you talk to Jin Hyung and the others. It almost shows that you like them more than me. So, tell me. Who is it?"

Namjoon's words made Mishil roll her eyes as she let out a deep sigh and pinched the muscle between her eyes, as though the conversation was rattling up her mind. The way her reserved and flustered demeanour budged, one would have a hard time believing that it was the same girl as 10 minutes ago.

She yanked out her phone and shoved it at her soulmate's face. Namjoon found him staring at himself. 2017 Grape Mom was so famous amongst the ARMYs.

He still wasn't convinced. He took the phone from his soulmate and dug in deeper for more. His photos were in a separate folder. His songs were in a separate playlist.

"Need more proof? Should I call Soo-Ah for confirmation? I'm sure she wouldn't lie." Mishil spat, and that's exactly when Namjoon realized his soulmate was mad.

Without waiting for her soulmate's answer, Mishil took the phone and dialled her best friend.

"Hey! H-.." "Who's my bias?" Mishil cut her best friend off. "Huh! What?" Soo-Ah was thrown off guard with the sudden odd question. "Who do you think my bias in BTS is?" While she spoke, Mishil's eyes never left Namjoon, who stared at her, his mouth agape. "Girl, has the bonding tampered with your memory as well? It's RM!"

There! That was the ultimate confirmation.

"Thanks! I'll call you later." Mishil didn't break eye contact as she cut the call and re-pocketed her phone. "Need more proof?" She asked, "Wanna read my mind?"

She scoffed before turning on her heel, just to get away from her soulmate.

A soulmate who didn't hear her out once. Who jumped to conclusions about her just like that? Even though, her limbs had started to ache from the need to heal. But, before she could get even two steps away from him, she felt a larger, warmer hand grip her arm and pull her back. Namjoon pulled her close so that they both were almost chest to chest.

"Then why are you so shy and reserved around me? You talk to everyone so easily. You have no problem being close to them. Then why do we talk like we barely know each other? Why do I feel like you're hesitant around me?"

Namjoon poured everything out to her, just in hopes that she would open up to him. He wanted this to work. Mishil looked up to her soulmate, wide-eyed, and when she heard Namjoon speak out his inhibitions and questions. When he finally registered what he had said, her cheeks turned red.

"You...noticed...uh...all of that?" Mishil stammered, wanting the ground to yet again, swallow her up. "Of course I did. Now tell me why?" Once Namjoon had let it all out, he wasn't gonna let her go without answers.

When he saw her hesitating, he grabbed both her arms and bent down to look her in the eye.

"Come on Mishil! I want this to work between us." To this day Mishil thinks that hadn't Namjoon said this specific sentence, she wouldn't have probably answered.

"I..uh...I was scared." Mishil's answer made Namjoon go wide-eyed. "You were scared? Of me?" She looked at his face only to hurt and sorrow etched all over his face. "No! Not of you." Mishil panicked. "I was scared that if I appeared to be too comfortable or easy around you, you'd take me for an obsessed fan or even worse, a sasaeng!"

"Oh." was all Namjoon could say. Mishil sighed before saying "Even though I haven't been an ARMY for much long, I know how infuriating the sasaengs and stalkers can get. And, you guys have a chaotic enough life to live. I know you weren't looking for a soulmate but, here I am. Trust me that I have no intention to intrude in your life. I just wanted to give you the time and space you need to adjust to this. Even I want this to work too. But not with you being uncomfortable around me."

Namjoon's words evaporated on the tip of his tongue. His heart clenched at the thought of Mishil knowing exactly how much he did not want a soulmate.

How she would have felt when she found out that she was bonded to someone who did not want her? Hadn't Mishil felt unwanted? Like he was feeling for the past two days.

"Then, why are you so comfortable around the others?" Namjoon's gaze tendered as he looked at the girl near him, while he cleared up his last doubt.

"No matter what, they're not my soulmate. They don't need to tolerate me for the rest of their lives. You have to. I didn't want to make this any more difficult for you than it already is. Had you thought that I didn't like your bandmates, that would hurt you. I don't want to hurt you more than I already have." Mishil kept her head down as she said all of that.

Namjoon peered down to take a look at her face. He saw her big brown eyes teary and red. That did something to him. To his heart. He softly pulled her into his embrace, resting his chin on top of her head.

"I'm sorry." He breathed, regret swirling up his conscience as she sobbed in his chest, her whole frame shaking with the sobs. "No! No! Don't cry. I'm sorry I misunderstood you. I'm sorry! I'm so sorry Mishil." He held her in his arms, and somehow, the relief he felt now was a thousand times better than the soulmate healing.

Now that he knew he was not unwanted by his soulmate. He knew how the girl in his arms had been feeling the same feeling from the very beginning of this bond.

And, he had to fix this. Yes, indeed, he never wanted a soulmate. There's no denying the fact that he didn't want to find that one person the universe had connected him with.

But now, he wasn't alone. He had a soulmate. Who was meant for him? Someone who was now his to take care of.

"Let's talk more now, from now on." He suggested. "Let's tell each other how we feel. And remember." He pulled apart and looked straight into her eyes.

"You'll never be intruding on my life. You're my soulmate. We're in this together. So, I am not tolerating you. I'm happy that you're here. I'm happy that you felt everything behind to be with me."

Mishil nodded, glad that Namjoon wasn't feeling the same way as before. They moved to the bed, turning off the lights as they lay side by side. Their arms touching and hands intertwined, while they talked softly.

"Why am I your bias?" "I'm not answering that."

"There must be a reason. I mean I'm not as good-looking as the other boys." "You're plenty good-looking!" "Oh, so you couldn't resist my charms or my sexiness?" "Do you guys not have an off switch? Well, I changed my bias."

"What? Who?" "Yeontan!"

"Well, you aren't gonna find a man as sexy as me?" "Oh my God Kim Namjoon! Can you like shut up?!"

 It was a good start. A little late. But a start nonetheless;

So finally updated.

Well, this was a particularly hard chapter to write since I had to explain Joon and Mishil's emotions and justify their actions as well.

The bad news for me is, the whole story is gonna be full of chapters like these.

I hope I justified their actions and emotions.

See you next Friday.
