michaela, the interviewer smiled,
"so what's life like with what you
call 'the four dummy's?"
i cracked up laughing, and pulled out
a picture i had printed out earlier,
showing her a photo of kassie,
the four boys and i when we
started kindergarten, and kassie was
in fourth grade.
"i've known these boys since we
we're three, and god i love them
to death but the drive me absolutely
nuts."i explained, making her laugh.
we ended up finishing the interview
by walking down, downtown nashville,
telling her i'd see her later tonight
at bluebird.
kelly let me go back to the hotel for
a little bit until tonight, and i curled
up into a ball, really missing kendall
right now.
my laptop was going off for a facetime,
and i grinned seeing it was from him.
"were your ears ringing?"i asked,
and he chuckled, shaking his head.
"no, just wanted to call and check
up to see how you were doing."
he told me, and i shrugged.
"honestly, my head hurts alot.
i haven't gotten a lot of sleep
here, and i really miss you guys."
tears pricked at my eyes, and he
sighed.
"i'll see you so soon though ash,
and i'll be watching the livestream
for your performance."he told me,
and i nodded.
"i really wish you were here."i mumbled,
and he sighed seeing me start to
fall asleep.
"will you stay on the phone til i
fall asleep?"i asked, and he nodded.
"always."

I FELT THE BED DIP,
AND ARMS WRAP AROUND
MY WAIST,
making my eyes shoot open,
and i jumped up.
"hey, it's just me."i turned around
to see kendall sitting up, and i
crawled back into bed, giving him
a massive hug.
"when did you get here?"i mumbled,
as he kissed the top of my head.
"a little while ago, kelly picked
me up. gustavo gave all of us
a few days off and i came down
to see you."he explained, and i
smiled.
"what time is it?"i asked, and he
looked at his watch, "5:32."
"shit."i hissed, as my bones
cracked, and he chuckled.
i grabbed an outfit i
had packed, and went
to change before doing
my hair into simple braids.
"you ready?"i asked, putting
on my boots and he nodded.
kendall and i walked to the
iconic bluebird cafe, with kelly
trailing behind us in a town car.
"i'm nervous."i admitted, as the two
of us stopped rignt outside, and he
grabbed my shoulders, making me
look at him.
"ashlee you are one of the best
country singers i know, now you
are going to be amazing. go rock
this place, big time!"he finished,
making me laugh before we
walked in.
kelly walked in with us, and i grinned,
walking up to one of the workers as
everyone stared at us.
"hey! how are you?"the manager gave
me a hug, and i grinned, "i'm great! it's
good to see you again!"
"you all set up?"she asked and i nodded as
i stood to the side, watching a girl about my 13 sing if i die young.
"oh my god!"she exclaimed, and i laughed, walking up on the stage once she finished.
"that was amazing!"i raved, and she gave me a tight hug, and i gave her one back.
i picked up my guitar, and gave her a smile.
"wanna sing my church with me?"i asked and she nodded.
"hi everyone, i'm ashlee."i fixed my mic, "and that was a better version of my song."
everyone laughed, and i looked towards the teen, before nodding, "one, two, three."
the two of us started to strum our guitars,
and i started singing.
"so put on your best boys and i'll wear my pearls."i finished the song once we were done, and everyone cheered.
if you were to tell me a year ago,
i'd be in nashville, getting ready for
my tour, preforming at the bluebird,
and feeling the best i have ever been,
i wouldn't believe you at all.
but some things happen for
a reason, and i was glad this was
one of them.
