Today was like any other day. You woke up, got ready, went to school and now you were changing to go to today's practice, since you're the team manager for Karasuno's boys volleyball team. Today was one of the rare days where Takeda-sensei and Coach Ukai wouldn't make it to practice. You didn't think much of it because you and Daichi had discussed how practice would go the day before. You finished changing and walked to the vending machine since you had time to spare. As you were walking through campus you noticed a few more clubs and teams had meetings today.
"Eh, guess it's just a busy day." You thought to yourself.
When you got to the vending machine you put your coins in and picked your usual, f/d. You watched it fall to the bottom and grabbed it. You turned around watching the other students as you opened your f/d and took a sip. You noticed the sky was extremely cloudy and it looked like a major storm was heading your way. Just then you felt a tap on your shoulder. You turned around and saw Daichi with Suga and Asahi.
"Hey y/n! You heading to the gym?" Daichi asked
"Hey guys! Yeah I am, I just stopped to get a drink real quick. Wanna walk together?" you asked giving a soft smile
"Sure!" Daichi said, the others smiling.
You all headed over to the gym with light conversations about classes and weekend plans. When you arrived most of the team was there. You put your drink down and got your clipboard to start taking roll. You did a head count just to start since there was still 5 minutes until practice officially started. Everyone was there except Tsukishima, Yamaguchi and a few others. You brushed it off and started to help everyone set up. While you were setting up you saw Tsukki and Yams walk in, put their bags down and start helping.
Daichi asked you to go find out why they were late and to remind them to not do it again. You did as you were told and walked up to the boys.
"Hey guys, I noticed you were late and I need to know why to write it down for attendance." you said calmly
Yams started "Ah! Y/n-chan I'm so sorry we're late. We wer-"
"Why is it any of your business anyways." Tsukki said rudely cutting off Yams
"Tsukki!" Yams nugged him
Trying to keep your composure you took a deep breath and said in a serious tone "I said I need a reason why so I can put it down for attendance."
"I'm so sorry y/n-chan, we were late because our teacher kept us in class to discuss our project." Yams said embarrassedly
"Ah okay, thank you Yams. Just try not to do it again" you said while patting him on the shoulder and giving Tsukki a smile while walking away.
"Start stretching too! It's almost time for running laps." you called out as you walked away finishing the attendance sheet.
Tsukki huffed and you heard him mumble somehting under his breath but you couldn't quite make it out. However you decided to brush it off for now.
You sighed thinking to yourself, "Gosh for being so cute he sure can be so rude sometimes."
Daichi then announced it would be time for laps snapping you back into reality. You ran over and began to take count of everyones laps.
*~Le time skip~*
It was halfway through practice, so about an hour had passed. You noticed that the weather had progressively gotten worse and it was extremely windy. Definitely not safe enough to walk home. Just then the school intercom screeched and you heard the what you assumed to be the assistant principles voice, "Students of Karasuno High, I have to inform you all that due to the current extreme weather conditions nobody is allowed back outside! Stay indoors until this storm passes! I repeat stay inside, lock the doors and do not go outside! This is officially a lock-in. We will be updating you all as soon as possible. Thank you and stay safe!"
It took you a second to process what was just said but you quickly snapped back to reality and immediately closed and locked the gym doors and closed the windows that were open. When you finished you turned around and saw the team murmuring to each other. Seems like everyone was caught off guard. Suga and Daichi walked up to you and thanked you for closing the doors and windows. You three proceeded to talk about the situation for a couple minutes. Daichi decided to end practice early to rest and to stay calm.
Everyone settled down and it was extremely boring. Hinata and Kageyama were arguing over the correct way to receive the ball, Yamaguchi and Tsukishima were sitting and talking, Noya was teaching Tanaka his famous rolling thunder and You, Suga, Asahi and Daichi were just standing and chatting. You couldn't take it anymore and proposed a game of truth or dare.
"Good idea Y/n-Chan!" Suga said
Suga announced to gather around and that we would all be playing truth or dare and the reactions were mostly good, except for Tsukishima's, shocker. You looked over to him and smiled waving your hand signaling for him to come join everyone. He rolled his eyes and mouthed 'no.' You were a little hurt but mostly annoyed, you rolled your eyes back at him and looked away. Tanaka and Noya took their shirts off and swung them around cheering. You couldn't help but laugh while Daichi scolded them.
Everyone sat in a big circle and you noticed Yamaguchi pulled Tsukki over to the group. Tsukki had an uniterested look on his face and was making rude remarks to anyone who spoke to him. You ignored it and the game started. Hinata was first. Hinata had the choice of asking anyone and he chose Kageyama. Kageyama picked Dare. Hinata said "I dare you to give me a piggy back ride!!"
"A piggy back ride? Boke! No way." Kageyama said
"You have to! You picked dare! Tell him y/n-chan!" Hinata complained
"Well you did pick dare, Kags and it is the rules." you said
"ugh fine. Come here Hinata." Kageyama mumbled
"Haha! Yes!" Hinata cheered while hopping on Kageyama's back
Hinata made Kageyama run around the gym three times, the whole time Kags was complaining and yelling while Hinata was having the time of his life. Everyone was laughing the whole time, once again except Tsukki, he had the same monotone look on his face while watching what you were sure he would find funny. At the end of the last lap Kageyama threw Hinata off his back, huffed and sat back down.
The next person to go was Noya and he picked Tsukishima.
"Okay you beanpole I dare you to try doing my famous Rolling Thunder!" he smirked
"As if." Tsukki replied boringly.
"It's the rules. Come on don't be a party-pooper!" Tanaka said
"Yeah come on Tsuki!" Yams encouraged.
"Nope, not doing it." Tsuki said once again.
After trying to convince Tsuki for about 5 minutes everyone gave up and Noya picked someone else.
You guys had moved onto charades and during Asahi's turn the announcements came back on.
"Attention all Karasuno High students. As you can see the storm is persisting and you must remain inside. We are quite sure that you will be here all night. We have some trained staff members that will come around to every building shortly and handout some food and blankets to get you all through the night. We will announce when they will start making their rounds, until then stay safe!"
Everyone mumbled among themselves trying to make sense of the bizarre situation currently happening. You tried to distract them by shouting out "Penguin!" They all looked at you confused and you simply pointed to Asahi and said "Penguin?" Everyone laughed and Asahi shook his head no.
After around another 2 and a half hours and a dozen games later everyone was getting tired and hungry. The announcments came on again "Attention Karasuno students. Our staff members will now be making their rounds with supplies so hang tight and stay safe. This will be the last announcement of the night. Try and get some sleep and be responsible."
Everyone sighed in relief and you decided to go over to talk to Tsukki. You walked up to him and asked "Can I sit?"
He glanced at you and scooted over saying nothing. He was reading a book and you noticed the cover had dinosaurs on it.
"What's your book about?" you asked quietly
"What does it look like?" He responded with a sarcastic tone, holding the book up so the cover was facing you. The title of the book was The Lost Time.
"Oh, no wonder it looked so familiar to me. I've read it before. It's one of my favorites." you said trying to shrug off the sarcastic tone he gave you.
"Y-you've read it? Really?" he asked now with a more genuine tone
"Yeah! I really love the plot line, and the history that the author incorporated is wonderful!" you said smiling
"I didn't think you'd like this kind of stuff." He said blushing a barely noticeable amount
"You've never asked.. haha" you said a little awkwardly
Just then there was a knock on the door. Daichi quickly answered it and there stood a staff member with our supplies for the night. He handed them to Daichi and Suga, reminded us to be safe & to lock the door then left. You handed out the food to everyone which was just Pocky, warm-ish meat buns, Dorayaki and water. You went back to sit next to Tsukki since Yams was sitting with Hinata and started to eat your dorayaki. You were curious about why Tsukki was extra moody today and wanted to ask him. As you were debating whether or not to ask he said "Hey y/n..."
You snapped back into reality and said "yeah?"
"Look, I know you've probably noticed that I've been a little more rude than usual and I just wanted to explain myself. If you even want to hear it that is." he said bluntly
"W-well if you really want to go ahead, I don't mind." you said trying not to be pushy
"I-I just had a bad class. Ive never been particularly good at history and my grade is getting a little low. My teacher told me if I don't raise it I wouldn't be allowed to play. So that's why. Now you know." he explained
"Oh I see, well that's a completely reasonable thing to be upset about. However you shouldn't let it stop you from having fun. Anyways I could always help you with history if you want." You gave a soft smile
His eyes widened and he blushed "o-okay I'll think about it." he said quietly
He then went back to reading his book without saying another word. You were confused but didn't mind it for the time being. After you finished eating you got up, threw your trash away and headed over to Daichi and Suga.
"Hey y/n! Me and Daichi were just about to set up everyone's sleeping spaces. Wanna help?" Suga said
"Sure!" You replied while grabbing some blankets and handing them out.
After about 20 minutes everyone was asleep exhausted from the long day. Everyone was asleep except you. You're eyes were closed and you were trying to fall asleep but you were a little anxious considering the fact that you were laying next to Tsukki.
You heard moving next to you and then felt something warm against the backside of your body as well as a familiar scent. It was Tsukishima. He started to run his fingers through your hair which relaxed you and then he put an arm around you.
He started to whisper in your ear "You know, you're extremely cute. I could barely keep my composure earlier because of you. No matter how hard I try to be upset or angry you always bring me out of it. Thank you y/n. You adorable midget." He snuggled into your neck and sighed, relieved you assumed.
You couldn't help but smile and blush at what he said. It gave you butterflies, but you kept your composure and whispered back "No, thank you Tsukishima."
You felt him tense up a bit and you lightly chuckled. You turned around and looked up at him.
"I thought you were asleep." He whispered embarrassed and covering his eyes
"Surprise!" you whispered back smiling and blushing
He grabbed you and pulled you closer giving you a forehead kiss.
"Shhh now just go to sleep in my arms okay?" he whispered
You smiled and snuggled into him falling fast asleep in his warm embrace.
