It was midday in January, when Azuchi's Tokugawa Ieyasu finished his work early. He went over to check on his girlfriend (?), Y/N.
[Still workin on dat label i see]
He had only wished at the end and start of each of his days to either wake up, or fall asleep in her arms.
Because until a certain incident happened, he never really realized how lonely he was without her near.
With that newfound sense of emotional neediness, he went back to his chambers to await her arrival.

Hour #1:
Condition: Normal
Mood: Normal
Energy Level: Low
Augh. Why did I even agree to wait for her again..? Hmph.. keeping me waiting like this.. not nice.. mean..
Ieyasu was just sitting at his desk, cross-legged, as he twirled his dry brush around in his fingers. He put his face on his hand as it lay on the desk.

Hour #2:
Condition: Restless
Mood: Not Good
Energy Level: High (Negativity)
Ieyasu started pacing around in his room. He had one of his hands on the hilt of his wakizashī. The other hand was around the front of his throat, lightly squeezing the sides when it felt uncomfortable.
(I actually do that. If its in public, then I do it around my wrist)
Why hasn't she come over..? You know what? Time to sleep. I gotta go get ready to sleep.. I can't deal with this.. I'm waay too tired..
He thought to himself. Or.. Maybe he was overthinking about it..? He decided against getting ready to sleep; it was only like, 4:35 anyway.
Ieyasu stopped his pacing and sat down.

Hour #3:
Condition: Restless
Mood: Tired, Determined
Energy Level: Sad
She hasnt even said 'hi' to me today.. How unfortunate.. I wonder what's going on today..
Ieyasu was lost in his thoughts when Masamune just waltzed in his room.
Ieyasu snapped his head up to the sound, with a surprised expression on his face. When he saw the familiar eyepatch of the One-Eyed Dragon, he quickly composed himself and had a blank expression on his face.
"Hello, Masamune. What is it that you need? You rarely visit my room. Im busy. Go away.."
But Masamune only laughed it off.
"Oh, you mean that you're.. 'busy' looking for Y/N? Haha. You're way too easy to read, my friend." He said.
Ieyasu huffed quietly and looked away.
"Ieyasu, you really forgot what day it was, didn't you..?"
"E-eh..? Forgot?"
Masamune sighed. "Of course you would say that.."
"Then tell me. Tell me what day it is.. Friend."
"A very special day. A very good day. You always get so worked up over stuff that somehow you seem to forget that it's your birthday." Masamune reminded him, rolling his eyes at his friend's ignorance.

Hour #8:
Condition: Tired
Mood: Worse Than Sad
Energy Level: [Depleted]
Ieyasu couldn't even put into words how exhausted he was. He was so tired, even he couldn't even light the candles he placed in imconspicuous places in his room.
Thats how tired today made him feel.
In 5 short hpurs, he did nothing but sit around and thank people who greeted him a very nice "Happy Birthday, Ieyasu" or "Happy Birthday Tokugawa".
He only faked a smile during those times, and it tired his cheeks.
"Tch. And they say smiling uses less muscles in your face.."
And.. Truthfully, Ieyasu neither smiled nor frowned much. He just keeps a straight face many people incorrectly identify as a frown.
And besides.. He was tired too..
He was remarkable, to say the least.

9:20 P.M:
Condition: Restless
Mood: Tiredly Depressing
Energy Level: None
That very same day, Ieyasu couldn't sleep. Normally, he'd be asleep at 7:50 P.M and awaken at 4 A.M.. But tonight.. He couldn't stop thinking about why Y/N never greeted him.
Or why he never saw her around at all.
He would never overthink matters like these when it was like Mitsunari or whatever, but this is Y/N!!
Then, 7 rythmic knocks, delivered three times, broke him out of his reverie.
He knew it had to be Y/N. He taught her, and only her that very pattern.
Ieyasu got up, stretched, and opened his door.
And he was correct.
It was Y/N.
The girl happened to be in her "nightgown" as she called it, and wanted to come inside.
Of course, he immediately let her in.
"Why didn't I see you today...??" He asked her.
Y/N thought for a moment, gethering her thoughts to form the words.
"I-Ieyasu.."
He shut his eyes, expecting something bad to happen.
"..Happy Birthday. I was somewhere in town making this in secret so you wouldn't know.. My cover was that I was getting something for you.."
With his eyes still shut, Ieyasu held something small and lightweight, similar to his deer plushie, from before.
Then, he felt something small wrap around his waist.
Ieyasu opened his eyes to see that Y/N was hugging him, and that he had a stuffed bear in his arms.
E-eh..? I never saw Y/N around because she.. made this.. Bear.. for me..??
Y/N released her hold on Ieyasu and smiled.

Two weeks later:
Condition: Great
Mood: Fantastic
Energy Level: MAX.
"Hey, Mitsunari! How are you today? Great? Yeah, go away and dont bother me! Same goes to you, Masamune! Good luck on trying to convince Hideyoshi you're not a traitor, Mitsuhide! Hey Ranmaru, handsome as always! Until you die, that is. Have a nice day, everyone!!"
All the vassals, maids, and Ieyasu's fellow co-workers all stopped.
"What the- BLEEP" They all said in unison.
No one had ever seen Ieyasu encourage then insult people with a smile on his face, not regretting anything. What had happened to him..?
Meh. Better to leave him be. Wouldn't want a shortsword harmlessly impaling the skull, now do we..?

Mood: Great
Energy Level: Fantastic
During the War Council that Y/N attended, Ieyasu just creepily stared at whoever spoke with a smile on his face.
When the council had ended, as well the day, Y/N went to visit Ieyasu's room.
"Why were you creepily staring at everyone during the war council, Ieyasu..?"
"...Oh.. I was..? I guess I.. I guess I never noticed, you know..?"
Ieyasu sat down with a sigh.
Y/N seemed to know exactly what Ieyasu wanted.
She walked up to him and she sat down next to him, trying to also take a break.
He looked at her, a cutely curious look on his face.
She smiled warmly.
At that moment, Ieyasu felt the heat rushing up his face and to his cheeks.
Suddenly, Y/N pulled him down and held him close, tightly. Well, not that tight..
Wait.. does that sound right..? Meh.
He leaned into her embrace.
Y/N giggled softly as she stroked her boyfriend's head, running her fingers through the soft blonde strands.
He smiled internally.
Although he would never have been able to say what he wanted, he was glad Y/N always knew what he was trying to convey through his actions.
The two slowly leaned backwards as they lay down next to each other.
Y/N slowly ruffled the boy's head.
And there they lay, sleeping, just sleeping..
..Awaiting the arrival of the next day.
