Outside of UA

Away from the roaring Sports Festival, a balloon, small in size, floated aimlessly around the humming city of Musutafu. The balloon floated in a reasonable height, drifting passed two-story buildings, as it overlooked the animate citizens quietly, journeying where ever the wind blew without a care and a thought.

This particular balloon had the ever-so-common spherical shape and was colored in a light shade of purple like the budding dew of an iris flower. It had two strings attached to it, each with a yellow heart-shaped on the ends. From afar it looked beyond average, but if you looked closely, the balloon had some fluff like clouds on the top of it, with a large prodding yellow design 'X' on its center that you simply just can't miss.

The balloon continued floating along, passing by a group of chattering pedestrians below it, who of which paid little mind to it and continued on its leisure and careless trip with the smallest of winds carrying it higher to the sky.

Though the people of Musutafu might have considered it an average, every day, floating balloon passing by, they couldn't have been more far off.

On either side of the large 'X', a set of black oval-eyes pried open, blinking at its surrounding in interest. The balloon peered down at the cars and people, taking in the everyday-lifestyle each individual had, before deciding on the very spot to spend its time enjoying its adventure during this lovely noon.

Meet Drifloon.

A wandering Pokémon that's been drifting around for as long as it could remember. It had no home and loved to spend its time overseeing others go about their simple lives. At times it could get boring, but the balloon found it more pleasant than staying alone in the random hideouts he found.

As Drifloon floated above the city in quiet musing, he heard a loud cheer, an echo of hundreds of people calling out in excitement and glee. It was a new sound to the balloon, who was used to the sound of zooming cars and human banter, or the sounds of dogs barking and cats scuffling out of a trash can. This was a sound that sounded exhilarating, as if there was a heart-pounding situation taking place. It made him unintentionally excited, with a tad of fear, as Drifloon scoured around.

The Pokémon determined after a moment that the sound was coming from what appears to be two massive-sized glass buildings far off- surrounded by extensive free land and different smaller areas. The balloon in question simply stared at its direction as if unsure of its existence, before the loud clamor came again, loud and rousing. Deciding to sate its curiosity, it glided to where the noise echoed.

It took more effort for Drifloon to arrive, as the being was forced to battle the wind god, probably Tornadus himself, who continued to drag it in the opposite direction. Drifloon was a balloon Pokémon after all, and wherever the wind blew, it had to follow. After many opposing, it made its stop, overlooking a mass land covered in booths and people, much more than what he was used to looking. The sight made the creature blink in confusion, starting to feel hesitant in its decision when the cheers wailed again, sounding much, much more rambunctious.

The creature quickly took notice of the colossal stadiums and pinpointed the loudest excitement coming from one of them. With curiosity taking the wheel, it giddily glided its way towards the sound, feeling a sense of eagerness in finding out more. As it got nearer to the cheering, the sound slowly became overpowered by the sound of flapping wings, appearing closer with each passing moment.

The poor balloon was scared out of its wit as a flash of orange skin blocked its path. The bulky thing came right from below and flew up in front of the balloon to go higher into the sky. Drifloon let out an involuntary yelp at the sudden obstruction, forced to drift away by the other's quick movement.

Shaking its tremors off, actually moving left and right like a dog shaking water off its fur, Drifloon was surprised it hadn't realized earlier that, that being that flew so quickly was something similar to itself. Dragonite had flown off to circle one of the school's building, before continuing on its patrol leisurely. Luckily, it appeared Dragonite hadn't spotted the balloon or possibly didn't consider it a threat, as it barely gave it glance. The creature took this chance to scour the dawdling people for more of its kind, before pinpointing another.

It wasn't hard to locate the hulking frame of a Tropius stomping on a pathway, the large creature languidly peering around with its elongated neck. It was the first time it's been around a creature so big that Drifloon can't help but stare at it nervously and intensely, waiting for its next action- which honestly caught the Tropius attention more.

In a swift motion, the Tropius turned a heavy glare to scrutinize the skies for the perpetrator, a threatening look enough to send anyone running, only to see nothing but clear skies. After a moment of inspecting, the Pokémon relaxed and continued on its duty.

Hiding away behind the tall walls of UAs gate, Poor Drifloon had never felt more scared before, shivering with heavy breaths. It decided to hideaway in a dark spot, away from the entrance gateway, as it was afraid of being seen from the people and the roaming menacing Pokémon. Now that it knew what was inside, it probably should go farther away from this place, as getting caught would be the worse outcome for it.

Yet, it can't help but still be curious of the noises, the cheering prominent in Drifloons head.

Drifloon blinked when something passed by it, catching sight of a small purple blob moving on the pavement. Drifloon watched as the small creature continued on its travel, knowing for a fact that this was another like him too. It's been a while since it had seen so many beings like itself, not in terms of appearance but more in a recognition that Drifloon can't quite feel with an average tomcat. The blob monster crawled on the ground in dark areas, keeping its distance from the imposing people loitering about. The purplish creature stopped short on the entrance.

Drifloon let out a high-pitched cry, trying to tell it not to go in. The amount of people is already a big warning sign, but the large Pokémon seemingly watching for anything weird is the biggest worry. Yet even with its sharp warning, the glob-like creature ignored Drifloon, trying to enter the gates determinedly.

Just in time, the glob-like creature peered back to quickly move away, avoiding the foot that was about to make it a pancake. Drifloon couldn't help but let out a small yelp at the close call, drifting its gaze uncertainly to the lady, who wore a large white hat, laughing with her companion without care.

Drifloon couldn't help but stare at the human, their hat so large it was the biggest thing that stuck out to him. Surprisingly, both him and the little purple amorphous being eyed the excessively big hat on a small lady as she disappeared passed the UA entrance. Drifloon shook his head, wondering why he was invested in this before going back to putting his attention to his fellow creature.

Drifloon needed to persuade it not to go in. It's a battlefield inside that it could only wish to win.

And that's when it happened.

The glob suddenly glowed, morphing its body to a different shape, much larger and taller. Drifloon was left gaping and shrinking away, shocked at its new forming body. It was a...

A human, but not just any human, the exact same one like the lady with the hat.

It walked as if it had been doing so for ages, wandering into the crowded gaggle of people. Drifloon could only watch as the human Pokémon turned to the balloon, finally acknowledging its presence, and the sight of the strange creature-now-human face was enough to cause Drifloon to freeze and shiver. Two dotted eyes acted as its eyes, with a wry thin smile. The now human pulled a finger to her lips, gurgling a noise out, before walking away into the crowd.

"..."

Drifloon had no idea what to do with this knowledge, staying close to the entrance worriedly. What was it going to do now? As the balloon floated unsurely in its hiding place, it decided perhaps running away would be the best option. Pretend it didn't see anything. Yes, that's the right call.

"Drif-!" Drifloon was abruptly tugged down, unintentionally letting out a cry in surprise as it notices a joyful child clutching its string like a lifeline.

"A balloon-! I'm going to keep you!" Drifloon panicked as the kid tugged it forward into the bustling school, feeling itself trying to get away without alerting anyone of its movement. But the child kept a tight hold, and Drifloon was forced to enter the lair, fear crawling all over its body.

And that it knew, right then and there, that it was going to die. Poor Drifloon.

In the First-year Arena

The cheers of the crowd were practically loud enough to dull your eardrums, the hoots and whoops were thrown into the air in hurrah- a loud clutter of excited screams and astonish chatter. You stood at your spot silently after making a scene in front of both your teammates and rivals, unable to conceal the growing laughter bubbling in your stomach with your expression.

Out of instinct, you clenched the overpriced headband, trying to ignore the inflamed burning sensation on your hand through gritted teeth, as you brushed the cloth with your thumb. The 10-Million-point headband was real alright, and it was really in your hand. You unconsciously released a small laugh before deciding to observe the damage it cost.

It wasn't too terrible; your skin had gone to a dark reddish that spreads from your hand to just a tad further your wrist. It could've been worse, but the small blisters were what made the whole outlook look dreadful. Your eyes unconsciously move to a stiff Todoroki; whose emotion you couldn't quite identify.

Perhaps it was shock? Resentment? Or maybe even frustration? You weren't too sure, but all you knew was that you pulled everyone from under the rug, and you were silently reveling in it.

"Midoriya's team was able to steal the point right at the last moment, with only 10 seconds to get by!?" Present Mic was completely awed, leaning down to take a closer at the teams. The blond pro-hero grinned, "Now that's one way to end a competition, talk about firing the stadium!"

The loudmouthed blond hero brushed over Aizawa, who would comment when he wanted to add in his commentary, to eye Meowth happily- Aizawa's light grumbling at his personal space being invaded became background noise. "How 'bout that Mouser?! Looks like your boss was able to gain the upper hand huh? You must be glad!"

However, Meowth didn't answer, eyeing down at the teams with a deep furrow on his face. There was this small quiet stillness that should be a crime in Present Mic's eyes, as the cat frowned visibly at the playing field, seemingly contemplating. Even Aizawa got a tad curious, giving the cat a side-eye as Present Mic's ecstatic grin began to drop, deciding to poke the pensive cat to attention. "H-Hey, don't leave me hanging here!"

The Pokémon blinked in a stupor, whipping his gaze to the hero as if to process his words. In no seconds flat, Meowth scoffed loudly, the cat's arrogant expression making an appearance once more, as he leaned back in a laid-back manner. His smirk widening to a sinister stretch. "Wasn't surprise! I mean, Boss is the best y'know? It's just a known fact that Boss would win!"

Of course, Meowth began cackling, loudly and as arrogantly as ever, making Present Mic shake his head jubilantly. "Your personality returned it seems...!"

Beside the raucous duo, Aizawa was as silent as ever on his seat, his dry eyes peering out to land on to your proud form, showing off the headband to your competitors with a look of small arrogance. "...You're becoming quite troublesome, kid." He sighed, but the tinge of proudness was largely present.

Back with the stunned students, it was your teammates first who were the quickest ones to get out of their befuddlement, rushing towards you in hurried steps all while looking at you in a mixture of awe and worry. Uraraka was the first to comment and arrive, her wide chocolate eyes flashed from your face to your burnt hand. "(N-Name)-chan! Your hand-!"

"It's fine." You eased quickly, handing the headband to a surprised Reuniclus, which you sent a small smile to before you eyed your uneased teammates. "It's just a second-degree burn, no biggie."

"W-What do you mean?! it's probably very painful!" Uraraka was quick to counter with an appalled face. She gently took your injured hand into her own, being extra careful as she studied the burnt.

Hatsume was next, strangely not exactly being her usual eccentric self, with her goggles raised to rest on her temple. Her eye-like lens zoomed at the injury, as her brows furrow. "That's not a small injury y'know?"

Tokoyami wasn't too far, eyeing with his usual apathetic gaze, but he looked rather unsettled from his spot. Nonetheless, he acted the calmest but was unable to speak a word as Dark Shadow zoomed away from him. Pikachu hitched a lift while he was at it, now perched on top of Dark Shadow's beak, as the two creatures drew near with unease expressions. Once they were close enough, Pikachu quickly hobbled on to your shoulder, looking ready to ask a million questions.

"Pika-!"

"(Name)!" Dark Shadow voiced in distressed, slowly getting teary-eyed, as he hovered near you anxiously.

"Re..." Reuniclus, the headband still clutched in its hands, eyed you with big confused eyes.

You chuckled, smiling at each creature reassuringly. You wince a bit when Uraraka accidentally prodded the injury. "It stings a bit, but seriously, I'm okay-,"

"W-We should get you to Recovery Girl (Last)-san!" Midoriya, who had arrived the last, gazed over with the most apprehensive expression on his face, his voice laced with unbridled worry. He got closer, still within a small distance due to Uraraka and Hatsume flocking, before fretting with uncertain hands, "Ah, I know, I can call her right now if it'll be easier! I'll go now-!"

"Everyone." Your teammates' concerned assertion was quickly intersected by your stern tone. You stared at them seriously, pulling your hand away gently from Uraraka's fussing. When they all seemed to finally be listening to you, your stern façade dissipates, your brows twinging blithely into a more relaxed manner. You huff a small laugh, smiling sincerely. "I'm okay."

Stunned for a mere minute, your teammates slowly relaxed at your assured words, their tense posture finally loosening as the brunette's worry disappeared to a smile, while Hatsume shook her head with a small, but lighthearted, sigh. Tokoyami's concerned look was quick to diminish, but you notice his expression soften a bit, before giving you a quaint smirk and nod.

It wasn't long for Uraraka to be giggling a bit once the tense and worries were put away, stashed away in a forgotten box, as Hatsume heartily followed suit. You can't stop your own, feeling uncontrollably happy for some reason, as Tokoyami simply crossed his arms.

"Then..." Midoriya was the only one that spoke up, intersecting the lighthearted atmosphere tensely. He looked uncertain, as Hatsume and Uraraka turned at his tone. The green-haired boy eyes started to glaze, watering up, as he didn't move his wide emerald eyes from your form. "That means...we...?"

The team blinked at the green-haired boy, before chuckling at his facetious action. Uraraka moved first, beaming uncontrollably. "Yup! Deku-kun...we won."

Your expression turned playful for a moment, before shaking your head to comfort Midoriya as his tears slowly began flowing down. "Yes, and that means..." You shut your eyes jubilantly, knowing what was going to happen next. "We're going to the 3rd round, Midoriya-kun."

And just like that, the dam was broken. A geyser practically burst out of Midoriya's eye sockets, as he wailed stridently. Your team was left staring at the emotional team leader with joyful exasperation, as bouncy Uraraka was quick to begin patting both Dark Shadow and a groaning wet Pikachu wrapped in her arms. You can't hide your amusement, as Hatsume simply ogled at the crying mess blankly, before turning to tweak with her broken 'baby' and ignore the sprouting fountain.

"Team Midoriya, places in 1st!" Present Mic voiced next to the apathetic Aizawa and the crossed-arm Meowth, who's emitting a rather cocky aura at the moment, as the screen showcased the happy winners. "Our first and second place winners of the Obstacle race aren't backing down from their spots! Will anyone be able to bring them down?!"

"You're reckless (Last)." Tokoyami decided, maneuvering closer to stand by you. There wasn't any hostility in his words, but it sounded rather scolding and stern. "If you hadn't gotten the 10-million-point headband, we could've been eliminated."

You chuckled, as Reuniclus circled your shoulders to coo at you. "That's true, I took a pretty harsh risk." You eyed at the bawling Midoriya afar, your expression twisting to mirth. "But Midoriya-kun's determination rubbed off on me for a second there, so I felt like I had to push forward."

You laughed quietly, aware of Tokoyami piercing stare on your form. The bird stayed silent for a mere second, before humming in response. He continued to stare as he crossed his arms, "I suppose I shouldn't argue when we got the 1st spot." He nodded coolly. "You thought calmly, and executed swiftly, that was how you bested everyone."

"What- like what you did?" You teased, watching as Tokoyami's calm expression shifted to surprise. You gazed at Dark Shadow silently taking Ochaco's affectionate pats. "While Todoroki-kun was distracted with Midoriya-kun, I saw Dark Shadow sneaking up from the back to grab Todoroki's headband. Dark Shadow would've definitely gotten a headband if Todoroki didn't abruptly release his fire quirk." You peered at the bird-headed boy. "That was your idea, right? Don't sell yourself short now."

There was another stunned silence before your bird-headed friend placidly gazed at Dark shadow. "...Hmm." Tokoyami finally huffed out a satisfied smile. "Even so, in the end, I wasn't to one who got the 10-Million-point headband."

You were unable to respond when Uraraka whooped by you, Pikachu clutched onto her arm, while Dark Shadow maneuvered his way to hover next to Tokoyami. Uraraka had the hugest smile on, her eyes were shut as she bounced in the balls of her feet. "We won! We really won!"

You smiled, "Yes, yes we did." You glanced over at the quiet member, focused on her tinkering with concentrated eyes. "How do you feel Hatsume-san?"

"How do I feel?" Hatsume pulled her gaze away from her machinery to give an odd stare, her mouth twisted to a frown. You jolted, surprised by the unexpected reaction. But that quickly died down when Hatsume's reaction turned to a 180-degree change, smiling ecstatically and speaking in a sing-a-song tone. "I feel great! With this many people's attention, my babies are going to take off in the market stat~!"

Reuniclus got closer towards Hatsume, probably just out of curiosity at Hatsume's lens-like eyes, as the eccentric inventor regarded it with a wide chortle. "Ah-! You agree too, don't you, (Butchered name)'s telekinesis-powered 'baby'!" The Pokémon blinked blankly, before gurgling a reply. Hatsume gleamed, "I'm glad you do!"

You, Uraraka and Tokoyami were left watching as Hatsume cackled happily with a cooing Reuniclus invading her privacy to now eye the inventors baby.

"Haha...What kind of conversation is this...?" Uraraka whispered confusedly, which you could only respond with a half-hearted shrug. As long as they're getting along, you have no complaints. It was a joyful, bubbling feeling in your chest, watching your teammates cheer and smile in victory, and your Pokémon curiously wandering over to them without the need to hide.

You winced when the stinging burn became more prominent, causing you to pull your hand closer to your chest. You gazed down at it, not noticing the set of different colored eyes watching your every moment.

Todoroki was quiet, standing silent as a stone. The coldness was apparent as usual, but the fierceness in his eyes didn't waver. He unconsciously clenched his hand, the one that held his father's fire quirk with disdain, before his eyes drifted to your slightly pained form, before brushing away the pain with smiles when Pikachu cooed at you worriedly. Todoroki spat silently, "...Damn it."

"Let's continue on-," Present Mic gestured on, continued the ranking. "Second place! Bakugo team!"

Mina sighed, waving her arm tiredly in front of her. "We were so close!" Both Sero and Kirishima turned their attention to her as the pink-skinned girl pouted. "Midoriya's team really nabbed the headband at the last minute too! Talk about quick!"

Sero commented after laxly, stating to obvious, and not too bothered by the outcomes. "Well, second place is good enough. The results are good at the end."

Kirishima was the one who instead looked pretty disgruntled, eyes gazing at a certain someone with knowing looks. Kirishima already felt drained. "...Would he really agree with that?" Kirishima needn't say much more as Bakugo bellowed bitterly at the results.

"On Third place! Todoroki team!"

Though the team had passed to the next round, there was a noticeable unsettlement around the team. Todoroki had kept silent, as Momo let out a brief sigh of disappointment. "We were on thin ice...the likeliness of us losing was high."

Iida, who had looked incredibly frustrated once he heard the rankings, turned to face his teammates. His fellow teammates, excluding a currently brain-dead Kaminari, were quick to notice the action before the class president bowed down deeply. "I'm sorry! I've caused you all trouble! If I hadn't used my secret move too quickly, our result might've differed."

Iida's deeply bowed form was stiff, and he hadn't moved from his spot as the team stood stunned. Todoroki simply moved his gaze away, while Yaoyorozu coaxed gently. "That's not true. We might've never gotten the upper hand if it weren't for you, Iida-san..."

Her dark eyes were quick to pinpoint the winning team, who were chattering with each other happily. "We can say for sure though, that the other team had outsmarted us this round." Her stern eyes landed on you as you laughed at what something Uraraka had said.

"And there's no mistaking it, but (Name)-san," She felt a small challenge rising from her gut, fixing a serious expression. "-is strong."

"And last but not least! Fourth Place! Tetsute-Oh what!?" Present Mic fumbled, eyeing the ranking in confusion. "Team Shinso? When did you make a comeback?!"

Shinso's team was filled with confused individuals, as Shinso smirked measly. All of the members, Ojiro, Aoyama, and the class B student had various muddled expressions, all looking as if they had entered a new dimension of sorts. Ojiro gazed around at the crowd in disorientation, before landing his gaze on the purple-haired general student with unease. Shinso simply walked off, satisfied enough. "Good work."

"These four teams will advance into the final stage! The afternoon event will resume in one hour after lunch! Later!" With swift words, the arena was dismissed, as many of the crowd began venturing out to enjoy the booths outsides brimmed with snacks and knick-knacks. Present Mic, after concluding the 2nd game, turned towards his 2 companions. With a more subdued voice, probably a tad bit drained from presenting so much called out. "Hey Eraserhead, Let's go have lunch."

"I'll sleep..." Aizawa's drowsy reply stated as much.

"Huh...then how bout you, mouser?" Present mic quickly shifted gear, deciding to go for a different target. Meowth was currently eyeing down at the center field in a direction to what looked to be your team, who were just remembering of your injury and fussing you to go to the infirmary. Meowth glanced at the loud-mouthed teacher who invited cheerily. "Let's have lunch!"

"Pft! No thanks!" Meowth laugh was painful, but his next words were even more painful. "Listen, I ain't that desperate for human companionship and needy for attention to want to have lunch with you, cause unlike you, I don't need to be loud and eccentric to get attention." That was an arrow right at Present Mic's heart.

"The fact that I'd consider to sit and eat with you is already a far cry to begin with- your loudness would ruin my appetite, and honestly you're the last person I'd eat with." Present Mic might be dying. The crowd hearing this cringed a bit.

"And besides that, I have actual important things to do right now," Meowth smirked, not even caring to filter his words any longer. Present Mic's was so wounded he was left speechless, as Meowth cackled loudly in response. Finished with destroying Present Mic's pride, the cat hobbled down the table, dashing to the door before waving with a sneer. "I'm heading out! See you later, suckers!"

And with that, the cat was gone, and Present Mic and Aizawa were left just eyeing the spot Meowth ran off to, stillness the only thing left in the commentator's box. Eraserhead sighed with a shake of his head, actually he can't cause he's still injured, eyeing a downhearted Present Mic slumped on his chair. Aizawa almost believed that Meowth was able to actually wound Present Mic when the man picked his head up with a sudden realization.

"You know, doesn't mouser there have the same personality as that Monoma kid, or is it just me?"

There was a small silence as they stared at each other. "...I am not commenting on that..."

Following our devious but most lovable cat, Meowth sneakily ventured out of the arena with the group of students heading out to the cafeteria. He quickly walked past the frog-girl complimenting the pink-alien, and the angry brunette, the one in your team, berating the engine boy. Meowth hoped they wouldn't notice him sneak passed their legs, as he discreetly listened on their conversation before rushing away.

He almost hissed at the still brain-dead Kaminari who accidentally bumped into him, but he stayed silent to avoid getting attention when Kaminari didn't react. With his face plastered on the screen so many times, there's got to be fans just waiting to chat with him, and he's honored alright- but a cat got priorities!

This cat simply wants to find the infirmary and be done with it. He'll check with you for a second, then find a nice shade where he can relax away from all the presenting he had done, and maybe get some small lunch while he's at it-he deserved that much at least! Meowth walked along the arena walls, going in the complete opposite direction of your classmates to avoid confrontation. It wasn't long until he saw a pathway leading to somewhere inside. Perhaps he can find the clinic in there? Meowth walked leisurely to the tunnel, boredly scratching his nape.

Why'd you had to go and get hurt in the first place? The cat can't help but grumble, as he kicked a pebble that got on his way. Getting hurt by a mere burn, and from that poke ball guy of all people? Meowth frowned and groaned. No matter, Meowth will just have to make fun of you for getting hurt as compensation, and for making him walk all the way towards the infirmary. Meowth whistled lowly, about to go through the pathway when...

"...What did you want to talk about?"

"...Eh-?" Meowth stopped, freezing right before he could venture into the entrance. There was this sort of tension Meowth could feel once he heard that statement coming from the tunnel. He could only guess it was probably a fight or a small dispute. Meowth strained his ears, recognizing the first voice being that green-haired crybaby.

"We have to hurry since the cafeteria will be packed-!" Yep, definitely the green-haired crybaby. Meowth could recognize that nervous tone anywhere. Meowth felt an urge to groan, it just had to be that guy that ended up being confronted in a dimmed tunnel. this broccoli-looking guy is practically getting in these troubles left and right!

"I was overwhelmed." That was a different voice, probably the guy that's confronting Midoriya. "So much that I broke my own promise." Listening closely, if Meowth had to make a guess, the second guy with him had to be the goddamn Pokeball-haired emo. Meowth rolled his eyes, knowing of all people that these two would be the ones having a tension-like discussion.

Meowth listened to the conversation listlessly, picking his ear without much of a care. He seriously just wants to walk passed this and just find the infirmary already, was that too much to ask? Meowth begrudgingly listened in, hoping they'd finish this off quickly when their conversation took a sudden interesting turn.

"-They didn't feel it. I was the only one that felt overpowered. Only me, who had seen All Might's full power with my own eyes."

Apparently, that half-fire-half-ice guy is becoming suspicious of broccoli-head over there, and it sounds to the cat that he's suspicious of Midoriya's relationship with All Might. Which is fair, since they do have something to hide.

Meowth knew this from you, of course, the small details of Midoriya's relation with All Might-being his successor and stuff. He wasn't given a full out explanation, but he understood enough that this fact needed to be kept underwing for as long as possible. If even he has secrets, what's to say All Might, the number one hero, doesn't have secrets of his own? He understood the value of secrets enough living with you, so he knew the dangers.

...Doesn't mean he doesn't get curious too. Meowth knew the gist, but there's no lie that there was more to the story than just a simple successor story. Something deeper, something that you won't even tell him.

Not that Todoroki would be able to guess...right? as the conversation between the students' progress, the Todoroki kid began implicating something about All Might's and Sweating-bullet Midoriya quirks being similar. Meowth pursed its mouth, eyes squinting in thought. They are quite similar, but he never really watched either use their quirk to seriously to know. Is that the secret?

As Todoroki continued his monologue, Meowth began to worry if the kid would really piece their successor and predecessor relation, or maybe something deeper? Meowth ain't the type to get into others business, what a lie, but he's sort of willing to get involve if necessary.

Hmm, should he help out the broccoli boy?

Meowth curiously listened closer, his mouth twisted to the side tiredly. More than helping out, he would rather pull some pranks just for the heck of it. But begrudgingly, he held that urge down.

"Midoriya...you..." It was that Todoroki kid that said that. Meowth listened diligently, leaning closer and closer.

"Are you All Might's illegitimate child?"

...PFFT-!

Chapter Thirty-Two

There was a set of large eyes staring right at you.

Not only were those eyes large, but they were also watery, glistening with tears as they threatened to fall any minute. The creature's bluish eyes, shining like a topaz stone, looked so sad that it left you speechless. You watched as the Audino began to shake from its oncoming cries, starting to sniffle a bit. The Pokémon mouth was pulled to a pout, an attempt to stop it cries, only for the small tears to begin rolling down its cheeks.

"Audino...Please don't cry-," You called out, feeling like someone was twisting your heart tightly like they were trying to seep out your pain by clenching it so incredibly hard. You reached a comforting hand, hoping to soothe the Pokémon before realizing too late that it only made it worse, as the Audino burst to full-blown blubbering. Audino hastily tackled your seated form, almost making you fall flat down on the gatch bed. "Audino, I'm fine, it's just a burn!"

Of course, your reassurance was meaningless as the Pokémon continued her soft cries, and you decided to simply pat the creature's back, watching as the Audino made it her task to smother your stomach with tears as she let out soft wails. Your mouth twisted into a small frown, as her little sobs made you feel like you committed a grave sin. You continued your onslaught of pats and affection hugs, "There, there...I'm fine, honest."

Your eyes wandered around the infirmary as your hands do their work to comfort. You barely could hide the small wince when the burnt sting bothered you, so you distracted yourself by taking in the room. You were currently in the clinic prepared in advance for the Sports Festival, there were several hospital beds lined around separately-each with their own set of curtains. Of course, there were also the nurse's tools and belongings on the corner, but no nurse in sight. You blinked when you noticed a figure on the table, hugging its log tightly in its sleep, yawning without a care in the world.

"Komala, are you here to cheer up people with your cuteness, or trying to make them fall asleep with your yawning?" You softly muttered, knowing it wouldn't have mattered if you spoke louder; Komala would sleep soundlessly without a care either way. The Komala yawned once again, smacking its mouth tiredly before turning the other way. You sighed jadedly. "I brought you here to get out of the dorm for once, but does this even change anything...?"

No response, per usual. You chuckled a bit, before turning your attention back to Audino, who has yet to calm down as one of her feelers, an ear-extension like stethoscope that tells feeling based on heartbeat, moved close to your chest. The feeler moved almost frantically like it was unsure where to place it at first, before settling down at where your heartbeats.

You thought it would calm down after feeling your feelings, but somehow it only worsened her cries. "...Audino..." You sighed, perhaps your heartbeat gave away your slight pain? If so, you wanted to teach your heart how to be subtler with its feelings.

Honestly, it might've been a better idea to simply not go to the nurse office at all with your injury. You could simply wrap them up yourself first and continued on the sports festival without trouble. It would save you from seeing the heart-shattering look Audino gave once you entered asking for some ointments. Then you were ushered in by said Pokémon, forcing you to sit on the bed with no argument. You lightly squeezed the Pokémon in your hug, you're just glad you were able to convince Audino to let you rinse your burn to ease it.

"My, my, I had a feeling this would happen." You heard the familiar elderly voice belonging to none other than Recovery Girl entered the room. She stopped where Komala was for a moment to pat it gently, before ambling towards you. You gaze down at her, as she gave you a tender smile, ones that only grandmothers could pull off. "Hello dear. I was hoping this wouldn't have happened, but Audino here was very shock when she saw you get hurt."

You bowed politely, as best as you could with a clingy Pokémon before questioning. "She was watching?" You mindlessly petted the sobbing creature, as Recovery Girl nodded.

"We all were; she always gets very excited when she sees you on the television." Recovery girl hopped onto her chair, one far too big for her, and gently held out her hands to grasp your injured one. "Did you already rinse the skin?" You nodded before wordlessly followed her whims, as she examined the burn. However, you found yourself unable to hide the growing smile at her earlier commentary.

"Was she now? Did you think I was cool, Audino?" You gently rubbed her back, smiling gently to hopefully coax it to stop crying. The Audino small sobs were finally subdued to small sniffles, as she sluggishly nodded her head. It was easier to take in her appearance once she stopped her sobs, as you appreciated the cute, slightly tousled nurse cap and nurse apron wrapped in her middle. You smiled brightly at her response, reaching a hand forward to fix the headpiece. "I'm glad, but I'd be happier if you stopped crying, Midoriya-kun did enough crying for all of us today."

A coo, not coming from the Audino, turned your attention away, as you were hit with a flowery scent, so sweet it made you unwind unconsciously. You saw the flower-wreath-carrying-creature hovering its way to you, moving away from the open door to greet you cheerfully. You smiled at the colorful Pokémon, their varied-colored flowers you knew it had picked around campus were attached to its vines.

"Comfey, are you doing okay?" You pulled the single hand away from Audino, your burnt one still being examined by Recovery girl, to lightly let the small creature nuzzle into. Audino halted its sniffling, peering up slightly to stare at its companion. Comfey cooed probably a 'Yes!", cheerfully swaying the flower wreath before it noticed the tear-streaks on Audino's face. The Pokémon pulled away from your hand to give the Audino a single flower from the wreath, which made the pink-normal type Pokémon teary again.

At least they were happy tears from the joyful squeal emitted from Audino. You sat back, making sure to not completely flop back with your hand, before watching the duo chatter together quietly.

You had been worried before the Sports Festival if you could leave Audino in Recovery girl's office, seeing how skittish the Pokémon is. You weren't going to make her help out Recovery girl at first, but from watching her heal over time, you had the sense that she was perfect for the job. Thankfully, your doubt was soothed when you saw it generally taking a liking to the elder lady who greeted the Pokémon kindly. Of course, it was probably also the help of Comfey and Komala being there as well, but you were glad to see her doing well.

You smiled unconsciously at the creatures, before wincing when the burn in your hand stung again. This got the attention of your creatures, who began crooning to you in worry, smothering you. You chuckled, as your Comfey removed her flower wreath to drop around your neck, the soothing fragrance calming you.

Comfey: The Posy Picker Pokémon

A Fairy Type

It attaches flowers to its highly nutritious vine. This revitalizes the flowers, and they give off an aromatic scent. The aroma that wafts from its petals has a healing effect.

"Thank you Comfey, but it's okay."

"It is not okay Missy." Recovery Girl's sudden input surprised you, as you were met with a scolding look. It made you feel just a tad nervous, as the older lady moved her chair around to find some ointments and lotion. She scurried around for a minute, before pulling her head up to glance at Audino. "Audino, can you be a dear and grab some bandages for me."

The Audino perked at the request, seemingly lighting up and standing straighter, "Au!" She rushed away in a hurry, sort of waddling in step, before disappearing to another room. Comfey laid on your shoulder gently, as the elder nurse returned with her items.

"That was a risky thing to do there-! I saw with my own two eyes on how you grabbed the headband even when that boy released his fire quirk! You could seriously injure yourself even more!" She scolded, pushing her chair closer. Her mouth was pulled down to a disapproving frown, and she looked ready to admonish you.

"I...I'm surprised you noticed that." You embarrassedly smiled, watching as Recovery Girl huffed. From anyone else's perspective, it would've looked like you got caught in the crossfire when Todoroki released his fire, but the school nurse knew better. This was something you deliberately put yourself through to nab the headband in the last moment, not minding the sudden fire enveloping your hand to grab the numbered bandana swiftly. It was such a small act; you were astounded that Recovery Girl noticed.

"I'm not blind dear." That was her only response to that, causing you to laugh. Recovery girl stern glare disappeared into a smile, pulling away from your hand to explain. "Now, I would usually use my quirk to fix you up, but I'm guessing you'll need all your energy for the following event. I'll ask the help of my assistants and give it some light treatment before wrapping them up." You nodded in agreement, knowing that you still have a long day ahead of you.

The familiar cry of Audino confirmed her arrival back, but this time, another was coming in with her. Pushing a cart, you were met with the sight of another Pokémon, with a roundish figure similar to the size of an egg, peering its small eyes from the nurse to you. Its height was similar to Audino, only standing a tad bit taller, yet just a bit shorter compared to Recovery Girl. You perked at the new arrival Pokémon, as they both made their way to the bed. Audino handed the bandages to the nurse. "Thank you, Audino."

Audino replied cheerfully, smiling brightly at the elder nurse. You took this chance to talk to the newcomer. "Chansey, you look busy."

You smiled at the Pokémon, sporting similar headgear to Audino, as it blinked. Chansey replied to you kindly, softly speaking to you in its way, which made you giggle. "I haven't gotten the chance to ask when I picked you up at the school's entrance, but how's the agency?"

You were met with a chipper reply, just like you expected making you feel at ease. Chansey was one of the Pokémon that didn't live with you, in fact, she was a companion to someone else. Chansey helps out at the agency you're affiliated with and helps the injured often. As per the command of the head, they wanted other Pokémon to join in the Sports Festival, and Chansey ended up being one of the candidates. It was to aid in the plan, of course, since the government wants to leave a 'good' impact on the crowd.

"Alright Chansey. Can you help me out?" Recovery girl gestured to your hand, as Chansey waddled closer to peer down at your injury. The Pokémon blinked down at it, before nodding at the nurse cheerfully. Recovery girl beamed, "Thank you, dearie."

You barely paid attention to what went next, as you eyed the Pokémon around. They seemed comfortable with the nurse, and you were glad to see them so relaxed. When the Pokémon were called to do a task, they meticulously did as were told and followed along with Recovery Girl's every request. You can tell that Recovery Girl is probably happy to have a helping hand in her clinic, as she complimented them each time, causing them to bounce giddily.

Comfey barely left your shoulder, but you guess it just felt uneasy not being close to any flowers that were doing a remarkable job at comforting you. You reached your free hand to gently pat its tiny head, causing it to coo. It wasn't long until they finished tending your injury.

"There you go, all wrapped up." Recovery girl pulled her hands away from your own, as you eyed the bandage. You moved your hand around, the sting almost completely disappearing. "Make sure to come see me to get it completely fixed up after the Sports Festival."

"Thank you, Recovery Girl, I appreciate it." You smiled, before getting up. All the Pokémon stuck close to you as if preventing you from running away. You chuckled at them, before bending down to get on eye-level. Audino cocked her head to the side as you petted, doing the same to Chansey. "Thank you to you two as well, you're both amazing."

Both of them, Chansey calmer than Audino, chirped merrily, as they gazed at you with stars in their eyes. They looked ecstatic at the compliment, as you stood back up to make your way out. You took a glance at the sleeping koala with rising exasperation for a moment, deciding quickly. "And I think I'll be taking you outside for a walk, Komala." You gathered the Pokémon in your hold to hug, as the creature simply snuggled closer in comfort. You shook your head, lightly bopping it with your poke ball, before turning to Comfey, "Want to come and get new flowers, Comfey?"

The currently-without-flowers wreath Pokémon perked and spun around you ecstatically. You took that as a yes, grinning at them. "Alright then! Recovery Girl, thank you again. I'll be heading out now, I'll send them back soon." You bowed at the nurse appreciatively, who nodded in reply.

"Of course."

The two left Pokémon, Audino and Chansey, waved good-bye, and for some reason, you have this strange feeling that Audino's starry-eyed eyes, that held deep encouragement for you, practically said, 'Beat those other humans up!' making you worry.

Once you left the nurse's office, you were left standing outside, staring at the endearing 'infirmary' sign, crafted handmade with small cutesy doodles, all colored in bright pastel colors. You hummed as the tiny Pokémon, Comfey, droned in your ear, wanting your attention. You smiled at it, before pumping a fist. "Alright, let's check how the others are!"

You nodded at the curious Pokémon, "I'm actually quite glad I went to the clinic, I needed to check on you guys anyways. But now since I've done that, we should see the others patrolling the school." Comfey cooed, tilting its small head curiously. "Why is it important to check them? Cause we need to make sure step three: of catching a crowd's interest is taking in full potential!"

Step Three:

Make sure all the Pokémon are acting favorably! And that means 'All'!

"Although that step doesn't help with catching a crowd's interest, it's important to keep a good image on the Pokémon as of today. This is the chance for everyone to see what you guys are like, showing less good sides leads to more skepticism." You continued, walking out of the building. You frowned, "Though I know the others will be on their best behavior, it's not a bad idea to check. And besides that..."

Crowded places are a no-go for most Pokémon. Through watching Pokémon's patterns, it's assumed that most Pokémon tend to go to places that don't have many people around. Out of fear of humans, or uncomfortableness, it wasn't certain. But there are always a few just going to crowded places without care, trying to stir up some light troubles in their own way. You know this enough having Aipom, who used to, still do, find playing tricks enjoyable. Though you hoped wild Pokémon would back off at the sight of your own Pokémon, it's not for certain that would be the case. Especially since your quirks literally lures. So...

"Guess I have no choice, let's see what we have in-store today!"

Back with Todoroki and Midoriya in a tunnel (Feat. Bakugo and Meowth)

In the dim tunnel, Todoroki and Midoriya were quiet. More so Midoriya, who was rather speechless than quiet, after hearing Todoroki's past and his promise to deny a father he loathed. It was a lot to take in, and the green-haired boy could only stand on his corner unsurely, as Todoroki grew impatient with his muteness.

"If you can't tell me your connection with All Might, that's fine," Todoroki stated after their rather one-sided conversation. He had pocketed his hands into his sport's pants, as he walked out of the tunnel, leaving a flabbergasted Midoriya behind. "No matter what you are to All Might, I'll rise above you, using only my right hand."

The seriousness of Todoroki's voice could grab anyone's attention, as he finished the conversation off by saying, "Sorry for taking up your time."

It was glaringly obvious how different both of them are just from listening in to his backstory. Midoriya stood, watching the half-cold, half-hot classmate of his, with his mind reeling on what would his next move be. What is Midoriya's answer to Todorokis' declaration? That's when Midoriya put his red cherished shoe forward to follow him. "I-!"

Todoroki stopped. Midoriya stayed steps behind him but continued his monologue. "...I've always been helped by other people, as with the cavalry battle. I'm here, because of someone's support." The green-haired boy stared at his hand, a sense of acknowledgment of his shortcomings.

For a while, Midoriya stayed muted, the thought of all the people who helped him made his heart warmed. As he could envision the day All Might declared 'He could be a hero' vividly in his mind, and the time you promised to keep this secret with him as if it happened just yesterday. It had him smiling unconsciously for a bit before he turned his attention back at the task at hand.

"Smiling while saving people, The greatest hero, All Might." Todoroki turned his head back briefly, as Midoriya kept on. "I want to be like him. But to do that, I have to be strong enough to be number one. Compared to yours, my motives might be trivial. But, I can't be losing either- so I can give back to those who have helped me."

Midoriya determinedly raised his head to meet Todoroki's cold gaze. He raised a clenched fist in front of him. "That declaration of war, I will say back to you. I will beat you."

Todoroki had stayed silent on the matter and was about to continue on his journey once more when Midoriya stopped him again. "Wait." Todoroki didn't hesitate to turn his head to the plain boy, who's determined expression held with a tinge of uncertainty. "I know it's not any of my business, but I just wanted to ask." Midoriya eyed at the aloof boy carefully. "Did something happen between you and (Last)-san?"

Midoriya could sense a sort of detachment from Todoroki whenever he talked, his expression keeping still, and his voice cold and even. Yet when it came to what happened, to Todoroki's past, Todoroki's anger became clear as water. This time, when Midoriya asked about you, Todoroki's cold look broke, a hesitation and uncomfortableness wafting out of him before it shifted back to normal. Midoriya had expected Todoroki to make a move to walk away again, but the recommended student surprised him.

"...There are things I need affirm about (Last)." Todoroki started, his eyes glazing with seriousness. "And until then, I can't trust that person."

Midoriya's mouth twisted unsurely, watching as Todoroki ended his sentence with finality, forcing Midoriya to shut his mouth. This time Todoroki really walked away, and Midoriya just simply stood there. Unknown to him, Bakugo, who had overheard their conversation, was eyeing the both of them from the other side of the tunnel, glaring before leaving.

Midoriya heaved a heavy breath, deciding quickly he should get some lunch. However, before he could leave, a certain voice caught his attention. "Y'all twerps just loooove being overdramatic huh?" Midoriya blinked, looking around wildly until it continued. "Up here Bush-head!"

Turning his head to the sky, Midoriya gaped at the appearance of the presenter cat, who looked down at him with disdain. "Took ya look enough." The cat huffed, as Midoriya shouted out accidentally.

"M-Meowth!? What are you doing here?" Meowth jumped off easily, cat's land on their feet anyway, as Midoriya eyed the cat with big eyes. "A-and bush-head?" There was a sense of discomfiture in his voice at the nickname.

Meowth snickered, "Yeah-other than you looking like a bush from above, remember when Altaria plucked off some of your hair, good memories!" Midoriya slumped a bit, still remembering the unusual feeling of having your hair accidentally plucked off by an overgrown bird. "Of course, I could call you tree-head, but you don't exactly fit the height criteria-!" Meowth cackled at his offending joke but was surprised when Midoriya's tone took a serious turn.

"Meowth." Meowth pulled himself together, as Midoriya looked at him uneasily. "How much did you hear?"

Meowth stayed silent for a moment. "...Almost all of it." Meowth somehow subdued, reached a hand to rub the back of his neck. "Since the turned-Voltorb guy thought you were All Might illegitimate child." The memory made the corner Meowth's mouth quirk up, remembering how hard he wanted to laugh at the moment. When Midoriya hadn't say anything, Meowth quickly swatted his arm forward with a roll of his eyes. "I ain't gonna tell the others if that's what you're worried about. I'm annoying, but not that annoying."

Midoriya gleamed, smiling brightly. "...Thank you Meowth, I just didn't want-!"

"Yeah, yeah, whatever. It's cool." Meowth waved off again quickly again, before getting to the point. "You know where the infirmary at?" Midoriya looked confused for a minute and was about to answer when Meowth cut in. "Then again, Boss might've already left, so what's the point. She must be already venturing around the booths..." Meowth complained, as Midoriya tried to cut in. The green-haired boy was caught off again as Meowth steered to walk away. "Nevermind, I'm going to nap, see you-,"

"Um-!" Midoriya didn't want to waste this opportunity, so he quickly cut in to catch the tired cat's attention. Meowth sent him a disdainful look. "I know you don't like me Meowth..."

"For your information, I don't like a lot of people. Don't take it personally." Meowth yawned.

"-But I'd like to get to know you! Especially since you're incredibly intelligent," Meowth's ear twitched, as if his ears responded to compliments. "I want to know about your powers and such, you're already amazing that you're the only Pokémon in the world so far that has learned how to talk verbally!" Oh wow, Meowth's body somehow can't move away from hearing that. "I mean, I haven't seen you in battle yet, but I have no doubt your powers are-!"

"Alright! Alright, I get it, I get it!" Meowth grumbled, trying to stop his nose from stretching any longer. He crossed his arms, turning to the human boy with a glare. But with the way Meowth puffed its chest with pink dusting his cheeks, it's easy to tell he isn't mad. "You just wanna ask questions right? I'll tell if you're that curious of the intelligent me, even if I'm just a preponderant house cat." Meowth rolled his eyes, "But if we're gonna do it, let's eat!"

Meowth already began leaving, as Midoriya stumbled to follow, happy that the cat agreed. "Thank you Meowth!" the cat can't believe he had to wave off this apologizing bush-looking idiot again but he did. Midoriya gleamed, walking side to side with the cat with a margin space between them.

"Still what happened before..." Midoriya seemed to be still reeling over what happened, as he spoke without thinking, musing. "Todoroki-kun...If this was a comic, he'd be the main character wouldn't he?"

"..." Meowth's pregnant pause was deafening. The cat put a finger up as if to interrupt but ultimately decided to look anywhere else as if trying to prevent itself from speaking. He looked to be struggling, sometimes eyeing Midoriya with a look that knew way too much, before turning away.

No 4th wall braking today, it seems!

"Todoroki isn't the main character of this story or your comic!" Meowth shouted out of nowhere. Midoriya flinched away, Meowth grumbled, "And y'all better not give me complains cause I didn't start it!"

"Meowth! are you okay?"

"No, this is your fault!"

"Wha-?"

U.A Front yard

Eyeing the booths from your spot, you were greeted with the sight of high spirits and activity. For the most part, the people loitering around were discussing together excitedly about the events that took place. Though the chattering was pretty much dull noise compared to the sound in the arena, it was still clattery enough to be lively as people ventured about.

Your eyes drifted towards the booths, all lined up orderly, as you tried to peer closer to see the provided street snacks in slight hunger. The sweet smell of Takoyaki drifting in the air is enough to make it known how tasty it would be, and at this point, you knew your stomach had possessed your mouth.

Grumbling stomachs aside, there were also interesting trinkets that were being sold about. Most of them holding UA and famous high-ranking pro-hero merch, ranging from balloons to masks. You chuckled a tad at the masks mimicking familiar faces, and couldn't help but double in giggles when a kid practically lugged around a huge plush of the Rescue Hero: Thirteen to his father.

You stood a little away from the bustle, hiding in an area where bushes and trees conveniently hid you. It was more for the sake of the Pokémon with you, who cooed to grab your attention. You turned to the itty-bitty Pokémon resting on your shoulder blade confusedly. "Sorry Comfey, I was a bit distracted. You can go pick some flowers now."

The Pokémon perked from its slump position, squealing as it rushed off your shoulders to float to the flower bushes behind you. Comfey quickly got to work, unintentionally rustling the bushes as it pulled out a flower all while humming lightheartedly. As the small Pokémon got busy, you quickly released your second Pokémon in hand, Komala, who simply let out a small snore periodically on the ground. You peered down at the koala-like Pokémon, "Alright, how about you Komala?"

"Ko...," It paused to loudly yawn. "-mala..."

"Right..." You exasperatedly sighed. "Well since you're stuck with me, you might as well keep me company." You crouched down, gently petting the creature, before peering back to the street bazaar. Upon just glancing around, you don't necessarily notice anything sticking out or honestly odd. No wild Pokémon just waltzing inside heedlessly, and that's all good and what not if it weren't for the fact some particular Pokémon were good at camouflaging.

You kept a keen eye on your surroundings as if you were playing a game of 'Spot the differences', making sure to pay particular attention to any suspicious activity, and sudden movement of inanimate objects. Although you were doing this, there's no saying that your team of security Pokémon won't find it before you do. So you eased yourself, your tense shoulders relaxing.

The Pokémon Security team is somewhere in the booth-engulfed street, and are busying patrolling and doing their duties. Though 3 members were being showcased, in actuality, this team consisted of 5 Pokémon members. The first 3 members are of course: Dragonite, Tropius, and Swirlix.

From where you stood, you could actually see Tropius stomping on the streets prudently, avoiding accidentally bumping the crowd or booths, and there's no mistake, that Tropius is the most popular Pokémon with the crowd so far. It took a while, but people ranging from young to elderly came up to it, and Tropius didn't shy away from the pats and hugs kids gave. Tropius was always fairly comfortable with people getting into his space and was always aware of his surroundings.

Swirlix, who you noticed was bothering an Imagawayaki stand owner, was most akin to a class clown. It was funny, and the kids joyfully laughed when it playfully chased the kids around. You were afraid most would be disgruntled by this, but Swirlix sticky body seemed too eased that uneasiness on the people.

That left Dragonite, the eyes of the sky. Dragonite soared over your head as you peered up briefly, noticing how it continuously catch the eyes of others, leading to hands pointing to where it soared. They were all voiced in awe as if a mythical being reappeared, and it would feel like such unless you see pro-hero Ryuko often.

"...They're doing well." You can't help but smile at their hard work, as they dutifully patrolled and interacted with the people kindly. Somehow you felt like a mother at how proud you were feeling, the only last thing you wished was for Swirlix to stop badgering the booth workers now.

That left the 2 Pokémon left in the security team. One, a companion you've known for a long time who would hate being in the spotlight, and another from the agency-

Abruptly, high-pitched tittering caught your attention. It was the kind of laughter a monkey would make, full of mockery and trickery, and frankly, you were very familiar with it. Your eyes widen, shooting your gaze to the trees to see the perpetrator giggling away without a care. And you noticed that it had someone's cap placed on its head.

"Aipom!" You sternly called out, Komala snooze bubble popping in surprise at the shout, as Aipom practically froze. The monkey peered down, blinking down at your appearance, before yelping. Aipom moved to make a break for it. "Don't think you can run away! I'll have you chased down if you do!"

The Pokémon warily clambered down at your reprimand, ambling towards you with a playful pout, its hands pulled behind his back as if it knew what was to come. You frowned at it, bending down at its eye level before you held out your hand. "...Hat." It pouted even more, before hesitantly pulling it off his head to your outstretched appendage.

You eyed at the hat, before observing the frowning Aipom critically. "...Is this all you took?" Aipom shrugged easily, smiling at you with its best version of angelic, but you glared harder. "Alright, let me correct that statement, is this all you did?"

Aipom grinned, nodding its head truthfully. It made a gesture to cross its heart with its right hands, then raising said appendage in a promise. "Aipom, I can see you crossing your fingers behind your back, and for one, you're not doing it correctly because you don't have fingers there." The monkey quacked, pulling its left hand from behind its back sadly, eyeing down at it with disdain.

You sighed. "Aipom, why are you even out right now buddy." You reached a hand to rustle the Pokémon's head, as it deviated away miffily. "I was sure I left the rest of you guys at the dorm with the TV on, but I guess you ran out huh?"

You chuckled before you heard the complaints of banana peels seemingly placed at random areas, hats just being pulled off people's head, and a rather confused vendor that had sticks of Yakitori disappearing right when he was holding it talking with an equally baffled mask vendor complaining of missing masks. You had no idea how they were all conveniently complaining about a monkey's misdeeds as they passed your hiding spot, but you didn't need to hear any more.

"Aipom, you stole food and masks?" Aipom stood quietly as you seethed, watching as the monkey blinked before rushing to the tree to bring down a galore of masks. You scrutinized in aghast as the Pokémon rummage around its treasures, before pulling out a rare Eraserhead mask in your direction. "I don't want it-!" The Aipom eyed the masks face in confusion, before putting it on.

"Ai-pom?"

"I didn't say I wanted you to wear it either." You were staring at a dead-panned face of Eraserhead, and for some reason, the feeling of being scolded again sent shivers down your spine. "Aipom, we need to put these back!" The masked Aipom tilted its head, as you continued gently. "This doesn't belong to you, so now I need you to-,"

"I..." A bush rustled, stopping you short. It was a loud rustling that even got Comfey peeking out of a bush from its flower picking, as a form came out. "- I FOUND YOU, YOU THIEF!"

You and Aipom screeched at the same time, the Aizawa-faced monkey clambering to your arms to eye the seething boy, Comfey quickly disappeared into the bushes again and Komala snoozing bubble burst a second time. You held the purple-colored creature closer to your hug as you took steps backward. "W-Wait! Let me explain first!"

"Ah-(Last)-san?" Tetsutetsu questioned, blinking at your appearance. You gave him a similar expression, realizing the one who had clamored in was said class 1-B student, who came closer. "OH! it is you (Last)-san, you were amazing at the cavalry! Congrats on making to the last round!"

"Haha...Thank you Tetsutetsu-san." You awkwardly laugh, sweating from the scare. Tetsutetsu seemed to forget momentarily of what he was beefing over earlier, as he grinned at you widely, leaning as close as possible to your space. You had to take space back to subdue your beating heart.

"Man, you caught me off guard when you threw that doll at me!" Tetsutetsu continued, giving you a raised fist in a compliment. "You even picked up on my team's tricks, you're really going all out aren't cha?!" Tetsutetsu gaze drifted down to a shivering Pokémon, still masked with the Aizawa mask, as Tetsutetsu happy expression changed to confusion. "Hey, wait a minute...You were the one who stole my Yakitori!"

Aipom loudly yelped, as Tetsutetsu began berating the monkey. "Don't think I'm going to be tricked by an obvious mask! Just because you switched masks from an Endeavor one to an Aizawa-sensei one doesn't mean I won't notice!"

The Aipom wasn't necessarily shivering in fear, but you can tell it was a bit fearful. Tetsutetsu might be scarier than you thought as Aipom cooed dejectedly. You pursed your lips tightly, moving your gaze from the duo before stepping in.

"I'm sorry Tetsutetsu-! I'll buy you a new one right away." You intercepted before Tetsutetsu could continue on his rant, as the boy in question withdrew bewilderedly. You quickly pulled off Aizawa's mask from Aipom, who looked up at you nervously. "It's my fault for not checking on them more, so I'll pay for what's lost."

Strangely, your words had made the iron-quirked boy eye at his surroundings with more attention. Taking in the sight of the monkey-like creature cradled in your hold, and the two other occupants from the small puff-like fairy with a wreath of flowers and the snoring koala. It was like a lightbulb popped out of Tetsutetsu.

"These are the Pokémon?!" He sounded excited, eager as he stared at the creatures with a new light. This time, instead of the anger sprouting out of his most likely nasality throat, there was clear eagerness at the news. Tetsutetsu bends down to get to eye-level with the unsure Aipom. His eyes drifted to its hand-like tail interestedly. "Whoa...the rumors were true..."

"Rumors?" You never reacted fast as you did once you heard his words. You recoiled uneasily when the word 'rumor' came up, worried of an inevitable criticism you hadn't already heard of as Tetsutetsu pulled away a bit.

"You know, about them being similar to animals with quirks." Oh. As fast as the worry came, it drifted away again as the class B student quickly faded away your worries. "I didn't even notice the thief that stole my yakitori was a Pokémon-!" Tetsutetsu guffawed, "Other than their colors, they seemed pretty normal...huh!"

He peered intensely at Aipom, forcing the creature to quickly bounce off of your arm to clamber up the tree to get away from him. As Aipom was now far off, he stuck his tongue out goadingly at Tetsutetsu, snickering away cheekily.

A pulsating vein popped at the creature's intentional mockery, Tetsutetsu's irk obvious, "Why you-!"

"Aipom-!" You frowned as the monkey quickly jumped away, going from tree to tree with his flexible tail, causing you to sigh at its retreating form. "Sorry again." You embarrassedly uttered, as Tetsutetsu quickly waved it off. The steel-quirked boy simply grinning widely. "Nah, it ain't your fault. Must be pretty tough taking care of them eh?"

Bubbling laughter rose out of your chest, as a part of you couldn't agree anymore. But the toughness was always overlapped with the joy and happiness it brings. Tetsutetsu appeared to be doing okay after his loss, a little frustrated probably, but has come to accept the results candidly. You hadn't realized it earlier, but on one arm he had looped 4 plastic bags of steaming snacks. Your stomach rumbled loudly again- somehow you really should find something to eat. "You sure bought a haul, didn't you Tetsutetsu-san?"

"Hah? Oh, these are the Yakitori's I bought. The Pokémon before stole one of my bags." You were impressed by the fact Aipom decided to just steal one bag, as Tetsutetsu fished out a stick, biting on one tiredly. "My iron deficiency got low, so I got to stock up to steel me up soon!" The boy clenched his teeth seriously as you blinked at him in confusion.

"B-But Tetsutetsu-san...You didn't...pass?"

"It's for the mid-games!" Tetsutetsu interrupted, looking determined. "If I lose, then I lose! I just got to work myself on the next ones harder!" Tetsutetsu proclaimed, looking ready to steel himself up with his renewed fighting spirit. You knew you hadn't to worry much, Tetsutetsu is a stubborn willful character that's not that easy to beat. You should probably have that thought thrown away as everything you think of always ends of biting you in the back when suddenly tears began streaming down his face. "I've failed my team before, now I need to win for them in the mid-games-!"

"...Tetsutetsu-san, the mid-games are mostly individual games..." You replied awkwardly, smiling tightly. It truly is never boring with Tetsutetsu around.

"HELP, THIEF!"

It was like being struck by lightning, both you and Tetsutetsu had stopped all actions to turn to the call. A part of you was just waiting to hear for a certain Pokémon-monkey cheekily tittering, as it swung on the branches with its tail. But instead of a mischievous Pokémon, the offender was a woman in a large hat, running off to the entrance with bags of snacks. You blinked at the arising situations, others just peering over in surprise as the offender ran past them.

Your eyes followed the person as she passed your small grassy area to get to the exit. You thought she would promptly ignore you, but as she turned her head, you were struck surprised by what you saw. 'Wait a minute...' You stiffened up, as she turned her head away to run off again. There was just no way, or at least, you had hoped this wouldn't have happened.

But there was no mistaking that face. A wry expression, dots acting as eyes, and a dogged smile. If you remember correctly, skimming through the Pokedex when you hadn't much to do, this was a transform Pokémon. In a similar sense, a creature that can copy genetic code to transfigure into other forms, just like Zorua. That Pokémon would be...

Ditto: The transform Pokémon

A Normal type

Capable of copying an opponent's genetic code to instantly transform itself into a duplicate of the enemy.

If it was just an ordinary mugger, you wouldn't think twice about this, but that's not the case right now. This could be a Pokémon, and since the security team is already alerted they would try to chase it down, which includes the pros working alongside your Pokémon team.

However, there was still a huge possibility that you're mixing up info, and the thief you just saw happen to have that face from the get-go. But if that's true, it would be too convenient for it not to be a Pokémon, and there's no telling if that's for sure until you saw it for yourself.

If it was the Pokémon Ditto, and it got caught, the Ditto's original form might be found out. And If people connected its appearance with a pokemon, then you'd be in trouble. Step three would be in shambles, and the Pokémon popularity will hit a blow! No matter what, you can't have that happen!

"Komala! Your coming with me!" You abruptly went to pocket out the dozing off Pokémon's ball, when you noticed something surprising. Komala was tossing and turning, more like rolling around like a block of wood with an uneased expression. Not only that, its log was missing. "K-Komala, what happened to your log?"

Komala didn't respond, as expected, but it still worried you nonetheless. You rarely saw it without that log, as it had that log even before you met it. Tetsutetsu, who was surprised by your earlier alarmed voice, questioned. "Oi (Last), what's wrong?" He looked to be somehow grounded as he watched the thief run off, contemplating on his next decision.

You were silent, wondering how the log just up and vanished. You can only think of one culprit who would steal it for a few minutes, and that would be the work of Aipom. The monkey appeared, right before your face from a tree branch, looking even more guilty. You frowned, "Aipom, did you-?"

It made gestures, embarrassedly nodding for a moment, before gesturing towards the running figure. You felt heaviness clinging on your shoulders, "Why of all things would it steal the log from you?" Aipom shrugged, making you groan. You were quick to move Komala back to its Pokeball, ignoring a confused Tetsutetsu unintentionally.

"Alright." you swiftly gaze at Comfey who peeked out of the bushes again, cutely warbling. "Just stay here Comfey, I'll be back soon! And you-" Aipom guiltily frowned, and for once, actually appeared apologetic. You sighed, "Please stay out of trouble."

Without so much as a glance at the class B student, you rushed off to chase after the individual racing forward in lithe steps. Your eyes never left your goal, the running figure racing away, as you clutched Komala's Pokeball tightly, which kept fidgeting uncomfortably. Komala was missing its log terribly, and it made you frown more. As you ran towards the crowd of onlookers, you hadn't even noticed the odd feeling of someone running alongside you.

You briefly turned your head, only to do a double-take at a serious-gritted teeth Tetsutetsu beside you, following you in stride. You stumbled. "Wha-?! Tetsutetsu why are you following me?!"

"What does it look like? I'm going to get that thief!" He glanced at you briefly, his expression appearing similar to a war dog at this point as you made a point to ask again more calmly.

"I know that, but why?"

"What? You think I can't keep up?!" Tetsutetsu sounded offended, his expression twisting guardedly to a frown as he spat out. "Have some confidence in me! just because I didn't deal with villains doesn't mean I can't follow-!"

"That's not the point Tetsutetsu!" You replied just as exasperatedly, but Tetsutetsu was no longer listening in.

"I'm going to catch this thief; I'll chase it down to the ends of the earth if I have too!" The class B student proclaimed, having already ditched his bags of yakitori with a bemused Comfey, as he clenched a suddenly steel-covered arm with a fighting fire in his eyes.

"That's going too far!" You can't help but point out piercingly, the Pokeball bouncing anxiously once more. You knew that Tetsutetsu was stubborn as a mule, but chasing the thief down to the ends of the earth is a bit much-he really does have a one-track mind.

At this point, there was no way you could coax Tetsutetsu to turn the other way, he won't listen to you even if you asked him too. So if that's the case, you guessed teaming up is the way to go.

You halted your run, coming to a stop. Tetsutetsu, who was about power forward, was pulled back when you held his school gym clothes shirt. He let out a loud 'Woah!' as he was forced to skid to a stop, whirling to complain when you got close to his ear. "Listen Tetsutetsu, this isn't any ordinary kleptomaniac we're dealing with, I think it's a Pokémon." The class B student eyes briefly widen at the new information, brows furrowing.

"I have this feeling it's some wild Pokémon stirring up some trouble, but I don't want its cover to be blown. I believe it can transform into anything it sees, and it's going to hide as people and other objects." You whispered into his ears, the crowd too busy eyeing where the burglar was making its way to take notice. You pursed your lips, looking at him pleadingly. "I know it might be too much for me to ask, but can you help me hide this fact? the crowd cannot know."

Tetsutetsu stayed silent for a moment, a rather odd thing to see as he processed your request. You waited impatiently, bouncing one leg nervously. Then the class B student gives you a wide sharp-tooth grin, raising his arm again. "You can count on me (Last)! As I said, they must be tough to handle! I'll be your right-hand arm in this!"

You smiled brightly, unable to contain your glee. As you were ready to get back on your chase, you were savvy to the sudden lingering stares and whispers on your appearance. It made you shrink at the sudden attention sent your way, as you heard the murmurs getting louder.

"Hmm...Doesn't that student look familiar...?"

"I could've sworn I've seen that face before..."

"...Hey! Wait a second, isn't that that first year!? Y'know, the one with the Pokémon?"

"Huh? Oh yeah, you're right! Man, the obstacle race beginning was sick! The way...what was it called? Arcanine? Yeah, Arcanine came out. Gave me the chills!"

"The Cavalry battle with that...Um...glob Pokémon? The one that made shields? Yeah, that last-minute was epic with it!"

"That chatty cat in the commentator's box sure livens up things, even though it could tone it down on the insults..."

"The pokemon outside are also so cute~ They're so sweet!"

"Pikachu, I believe? It's an adorably powerful little thing, isn't it? Hey, hey, I wonder if I can ask if I can see it?"

"I have a ton of questions...! Hey, let's go and ask!"

A small feeling dread rushed through you, as many pairs of legs went towards your direction in hurry. You took a hefty gulp unintentionally. Remember when you were appointed as Midoriya's 5th team member as all eyes landed on you? Yeah, this was a lot worse than that.

You had no time to react as Tetsutetsu took charge, placing his callous hand on your shoulder before roughly pushing you in the opposite direction of the people. It happened in a minute as you were pushed steadily by the hard-core iron away from the crowd's eyes, before finally stopping at a small hidden spot between two booths. No one followed, as Tetsutetsu promptly released his hold causing you to fumble forward.

Tetsutetsu...doesn't necessarily realize his strength, you assume. You're quite aware he knows he's as hard as iron, but sometimes he doesn't realize he's using it? At this point, you weren't sure what you were saying as Tetsutetsu had to save you again from making a fool of yourself, grasping your hand to pull you back vertically. "Careful!"

"Right!" You answered almost impulsively. You took this chance to ask. "Did they find us?"

"Don't think so." Tetsutetsu murmured with a deep frown, as he kept watch, peering his head out of the booth. When he was sure no one saw, he spun to you. "What are we going to do? You're practically a superstar!"

Superstar? "Geh-," You felt like shivering already. You frowned at your partner in crime, "I'm not sure what to do, but all I know is me taking the spotlight and chasing a thief is going to be a bad thing." You uneasily walked out to peer outside, realizing laxly that no one was looking your way.

"Why?" Tetsutetsu questioned, his brows furrowing. "I mean I pulled you away because you looked uncomfortable." You were surprised he noticed that "But I don't see how this affects anything..."

"First, the crowd will be watching, as I said, I don't want any association with the thief and the Pokémon and some might piece that together." You started softly, "Second, there are pros out there, so they might rat me out to Aizawa and I'm not necessarily interested in another lecture." Tetsutetsu took in your word, begrudgingly acknowledging your reasoning as you let out a small sigh.

You jumped as the Pokeball clutched in your hand bounced out of your hand, bouncing at the ground involuntarily before it popped open. As light burst out, Komala's form materialized. "Whoa!" Tetsutetsu awes at the scene, probably never truly seeing it seriously, while you crouched down to the distressed Pokémon, frowning deeply in its sleep.

"Komala, we'll find your log soon, I promise." You softly uttered, gently stroking its greyish-blue fur.

The distressed Pokémon simply continued its onslaught of restless tossing and turning, unable to be truly comfortable until his prized log is within his grasp. Tetsutetsu crouched down with you slowly, sending you unsure stares. "It's log got stolen right?" Tetsutetsu gave the uncomfortable creature a meaningful grin, trying to appear...softer? "Don't worry little bud, we'll get it back!"

Unexpectedly, Komala reacted to Tetsutetsu's appearance. With its nose twitching instantly, the Komala pulled itself up, getting into a sitting position that left you startled. Tetsutetsu just watched in confusion as Koala launched its form towards Tetsutetsu face, who panicked once his sight was gone. You gazed with wide eyes as Komala clutched Tetsutetsu's face tightly. "WAH-Get it off!"

You couldn't react fast enough as Tetsutetsu hastily got up. "Uh-hold on a second!" You tried to grasp onto the Pokémon, gently trying to pull it away only to find out Komala was strong when it wanted to be. Luckily it moved to go behind the iron-head, clutching its paws on Tetsutetsu's hair. The class B student gawped at you, reaching behind his head to pat the unreactive creature. "It's on my head..."

"Uh, here let me..." You tried to take the Komala back again, but it wouldn't budge. No matter how much strength you used, Komala wouldn't let go. You pursed your lips, "I-I don't think Komala's going to let go." Tetsutetsu looks like he's worried he would have a powerful koala on his head forever, but you hastily eased him with quick words. "Until he gets his log at least!"

Silence engulfed the three of you. You awkwardly stood in front of a blank Tetsutetsu, as the boy finally sighed. "...Well, guess you're stuck with me little bud." Tetsutetsu begrudgingly accepted his position.

You were relieved. Tetsutetsu was a kind guy. But now you were stuck with a problem, and the 'human' thief was running off hastily. So far, none of the security has followed it, but you were expecting them to be ready by the entrance, where 'she' would be running to.

"So now what?" Tetsutetsu spoke up through your inner monologue, letting the Komala clutch his head like it was his log. He narrowed his eyes, "If you can't be seen by the crowd, how are you going to catch the Pokémon?"

"I'm not sure." You voiced, regarding him with a small side-eye before eyeing the crowd once more. "I would have suggested you chase it while I figure out how to catch up, but Komala sticks out like a sore thumb right now." Komala yawned in cue.

There must be a way to follow the imposter without sticking out. If you weren't surrounded by a gaggle of people, you would've called out Dragonite to catch it, no questions needed to ask once more. But since you need the supposed Pokémon identity in secret, then...

"Ai-pom-pom!" Aipom called out from on top of the booth flaps, grinning happily.

"Aipom, I told you to stay out of trouble." You watched as the monkey expertly landed on the ground, looking at you a little too happily now. He hid what he was hiding with his hand-like tail causing you to get suspicious. Aipom was quick to showcase them, and you blinked. "What? The masks?"

Aipom held the mask like they were a set of playing cards, ready to show you a magic trick, as it tittered joyfully. You mindlessly grab one, which happened to be a Midnight mask. A part of you didn't expect Midnight to want the production of Midnight-faced masks, but you were never too sure with that teacher. Tetsutetsu eyed the one you were holding with furrowed brows before his expression lightened up.

"Hey (Last), I got an idea!" His boisterous voice somehow didn't catch anyone's attention, as you gazed at his wide elated expression in confusion. It disappeared, literally draining as you shook your head slowly.

"...Please tell me it isn't what I'm thinking of?"

Let's just say, you stood awkwardly next to a serious Vlad King-faced Tetsutetsu, with his trusty sidekick, the true Aizawa-sensei, Komala with your Midnight mask, feeling like an idiot. A part you felt somehow embarrassed, but you were comforted at the thought of not being recognized. You sighed, peering at the supportive Aipom sending you thumbs up with his fingerless hands helpfully.

"...It was what I'm thinking of."

Hello everyone! Hope you are all doing well! This chapter honestly felt like so much has happened, yet nothing really happens for some reason?

This chapter was supposed to have a lot more to do, with the other scenes mixed in, I decided to cut it for now and continue it to the next chapter. There are so many Pokémon reappearing and making their debut here, and I hope you like the new lovable creatures around. I hadn't realized that Komala had only appeared in the story once, so I had to make him make a comeback! With of course clinging to Tetsutetsu, who didn't get enough attention during Cavalry from me. So, hope you all like this chapters filler about catching a ditto, which will be continued in the next chapter before we get right back on track on the original plot line. Of course I also couldn't leave out Audino, who is also playing a part in the sports festival, I wonder if any of you guessed it?

Well for now, thank you for the love and comments! hope you like this chapter, and enjoy your day today! till then!
