Chapter 67

After a long day, Khushi was finally back to her room. She had finished her food and took a shower and now she
was lying here with her hand on her belly, her eyes directed to the ceiling. She asked herself why she felt the weakness inside her heart, why she broke down her protective walls and reacted so sensitively about Akash's words.

Her baby.

Was it Arnav who said these two words or were those Akash's words. She knew, she had said it
herself to Arnav on the day she left, but she hasn't thought it would hurt to hear it from him.

Turning to side, Khushi closed her eyes and forced herself to stop thinking about Arnav and
sleep.

*

The man winked at Arnav with his gun to walk inside the house and sit down on the chair. Arnav
followed his instruction because he didn't want the man to feel forced to shoot him. Payal's hands were tied and she was gagged as well. She was about to wake up but Arnav wasn't interested in watching her come back slowly to her senses. The man who was closing the door and checking the surroundings through the window was much
more interesting.

He was dressed in black. His body showed total dominance. Arnav asked himself if
he was a cop or someone who wanted to save Payal from cops. The moment Arnav looked back to Payal and her state he rejected the second possibility. This man wasn't interested to save or protect Payal. There was something else he wanted from her.

Finally the man walked towards Arnav and sat on the chair right in front of him. Pointing his gun at Arnav, he asked.

>>Are you alone?<<

Arnav thought he needed to be careful with the man infront of him, till he finds out who this guy was and his reasons to take Payal with him.

>>Yes, but my assistant knows where I am and I have positioning satellite system in my car. That means, if I don't reach my hotel in one hour, they will look for me.<<

The man cursed under his breath.

Payal made some noise through her gag.

>>Why did you follow me?<<

>>I didn't follow you. I followed her.<<

Arnav's eyes fell on Payal and the man's eyes followed his glance.

>>I had been waiting for a long time to get this witch wrapped around my fingers and I will not let her go. She belongs to me.<<

>>I am sorry buddy, but I am here to take her to police.<<

Arnav said this with the expectation of finding a policeman in front of him, but before he spoke, he had already known that the guy wasn't a cop.

>>She is going nowhere. That bitch has to pay for what she did to my Pari.<<

Arnav finally realized what was going on. This guy was here to take his revenge on Payal for losing his girl. Well what a surprise. He is not alone.

>>She hurt my wife and she will pay. I will be the one to make her suffering real. For my wife.<<

>>She did something to your wife?<<

The man asked carefully and leaned towards Arnav.

>>Tell. And tell everything. I want to know every single mistake she did, every single sin she commited.<<

Arnav looked again at Payal.

My wife was raised by Payal's parents and grew up with Payal. She played cruel games with our lives, so that I did something horrible and her parents threw my wife out of the house. My wife was stoned and hit with sticks by her neighbors and ended up in the house of one and the only neighbor who was ready to take care of her injuries on her body. After that, my wife hasn't spoken for nearly three years and was like a skeleton when I found her. The rest is too complicated to tell.<<

>>Is she alive?<< the man asked visibly shook by Arnav's story.

Arnav nodded.

>>She is alive but the scars of betrayal and lies are still fresh.<<

The man's glance moved to the wall behind Arnav and he seemed to be somewhere far away.

>>My Pari is dead. On our wedding night, Payal took us by surprise in my room. She has brought two guys who raped my Pari, while Payal danced with the music coming from downstairs. For me, the most horrible thing was, I have to watch the horrible rape and the suffering of my soulmate. I was not able to help and that killed me. After the two monsters were done, boh Pari and me, were dead inside. I tried to play it down. Tried to get us help. Hoped this wouldn't break us apart. In the end, I survived and Pari killed herself.<<

>>From that day onwards, I did everything to get Payal, but sadly she was never alone. Unreachable for me. To my luck, I found the two guys and lynched them. I fed them with their dicks and made sure they were drowned on their manly organs. It was not enough because the main culprit still lived her happy life, but it was everything I could do.<<

Arnav closed his eyes in frustration and understanding for this man. He felt pity for him. While Khushi was alive and could start afresh, his Pari was dead and there was nothing that could bring her back to life. Back to her life partner. What kind of tragedy this guy has been going through.

>>Fuck, I think you won this battle.<<

He smiled sadly, obviously trying to bring some lightness into the conversation.

>>I wish I hadn't been the winner. Be happy because your wife is alive. Because of this woman here... He pointed at Payal... I will not be able to see my wife breathing ever again.<<

Payal opened her eyes and made loud noises. Her eyes momentarily met Arnav's eyes and he saw plea for help in them.

>>You see, I have more right to turn this bitch's life into hell. And I will. From now onwards, every and each second will be like hell for her.<<

Payal spoke again but the guy placed his hand on her head and slammed her face against the table.

>>Shut up!<<

Payal looked up with her bleeding nose. She cried tears of pain, but Arnav didn't care to help her. She called him for help, but he was more concentrated to make sure she would suffer. If he took her to police, she might find her way out, but this was a perfect opportunity to get what he wanted. Arnav actually wanted to punish Payal with his own bare hands, but how could he refuse to give this man the chance to take his revenge for his wife.

Khushi was alive but Pari, this was how the man said her name, was dead. He would never again be able to talk to her, hold her in his arms, tell her how much he loves her. Never.

At least, Arnav could get the opportunity on the day he breathed his last. It was the day he has been craving for. The day he wanted to come soon. The day he has been living for since she left him.

>>Fine. You can have her. But under one condition. I want her to suffer. I want her to die a slow and painful death and experience everything she did to others.<<

The man smiled evilly.

>>She will. Don't worry. I know her sins and she will pay, all of them, one by one and that in double.<<

Payal freed her mouth and spoke loud.

>>No, you can't do this. You can't leave me with him. Don't you have a heart, Arnav? Don't you understand how much I love you? You are my everything! You made things for me, no one ever had done. I could finally punish Khushi for everything she did to me. For everything she took away from me. I won't accept this.<<

Arnav stood slowly up from his chair.

>>You are not even worthy of the dirt underneath her nails, Payal. You can't even be the earth under her feet. This is how pure and beautiful she is. You are no one compared to Khushi.<<

>>Stop it! Stop saying these words to me. I love you. Don't you get it? You were the first one who gave me the best music in the world. I will never forget the sound of her screams. She is nothing. Just a stray dog.<<

Arnav walked one step towards Payal, but the guy held his shoulder.

>>Leave it. Leave her punishment to me. She's not worthy of your wrath. Go to your wife. She is still here in this world. At least, you've got a second chance which I will never get. Let me take care of her. And don't worry. I will give her the time of her life. She will wish she was dead once I am done.<<

Arnav gave one last glance to Payal before he looked back to the man.

>>You give me your promise?<<

>>Yes. I swear on my dead Pari, I will destroy this woman. I promise, I will make her suffer.<<

Arnav left the cottage hearing Payal's screams. He wasn't happy to hear her suffering, but he knew she deserved every bit of it.

*

Khushi was on her cliff. She was lying on the ground, feeling the warm touching her skin. This place was full of peace and she enjoyed the only sound of waves, when the voice of the old woman broke her thoughts.

>>You are still here, little one?<<

>>Yes. But you weren't here for a while.<<

The woman breathed in deeply in, but didn't say anything. Khushi turned her face back to the angry ocean and this time something captured her attention completely. The ocean was different. Not so full of life, even the waves was hitting the stones on the cliff. She looked down and saw a beach. It was full of fishes and other see creatures, who were fighting their last battle.

>>Oh, no. The fishes.<<

Khushi remarked with a shocked sounding voice.

The old woman replied.

>>There is nothing we can do. The ocean is dying. Together with all life inside it.<<

Khushi turned to the old woman.

>>The ocean is dying? But why? How?<<

>>There is nothing we can do. I am sorry. I am so sorry.<<

Khushi woke up and cried. She cried for her ocean and couldn't stop her tears. It was like she suspected, she would die with it.
