Solutions Lead To More Problems

The entire group piled into the trial room, taking their respective spots. All except for Joey, whom was stuck leaning on Shane or else he would instantly fall over. The motivation was somewhat working among the YouTubers. Something about the Death Penalty looming beside them gave them all an extra push to get things solved and done. Each person present did nothing but remain silent.

"So, what exactly are we trying to accomplish here...?" Mark spoke out before anyone else.

"What do you mean?" Felix questioned.

"Well, I mean, we don't really have a clue what's going on. The crime scene was kind of just a big mess." Mark explained with a shrug.

"Just explain everything you saw, maybe one of us can conclude something." Shane insisted.

"Okay, well, there was a hammer hanging from a string in the doorway." Mark began.

"Yeah, the string was taped to the top of the door frame. It was kind of weird, I don't know why anyone would think that was a good tactic for murder." Phil said with a shrug.

"I told you guys, no one was even there." Joey insisted persistently.

"You probably just forget what happened. I really doubt the hammer just kind of, flew at your face."  Krism replied.

"It could of. You know, gravity." Minx suggested, with slight sarcasm intended.

"I really don't think it just fell from the ceiling." Jon said, rolling his eyes.

Felix thought back to the way the weapon had been set up. The term "gravity" had sparked an idea originating from when he was in high school and college, while he was studying engineering and physics. Somehow, the how situation and gravity going together made sense.

The string was fairly long. From the door frame the hammer probably came down to Joey's shoulder's or lower, so it couldn't have just fallen.

They had already established that everyone was in the kitchen at the time, and Joey insisted that no one had hit him...

So it was neither smacked nor dropped.

And the door was wide open.

The solution flung into Felix's mind in a single moment.

"It didn't fall! And no one was there to hit him either!" The blonde shouted out excitedly.

"What?" Jon asked.

"The hammer was sitting on top of the door before Joey came in, so when he opened the door, it fell. Joey, you said a note told you to turn around, right?" Felix requested.

"Uh, yeah?" Joey answered, not quite catching on.

"Well, whoever set it up put the note there too, so you'd be hit in the right place." Felix confirmed.

"That...actually makes sense." Shane commented, shocked by the seemingly simple solution.

"Why is it always Felix who figures out these things?" Phil questioned, reminiscing back to the real murders, where Felix would solve nearly every mystery that was available.

"I think it's just how these things go, really. Every group has that one person that doesn't seem too bright, but their personality helps them along." Minx pointed out, shrugging lighty.

"Hey!" Felix retorted.

"I meant it as a good thing!" Minx defended, holding back a giggle.

"Okay, okay! That still doesn't tell us who had this weird idea to kill him." Shane interrupted.

"Well, uh..." Felix mumbled. He hadn't gotten that far in his theory just yet.

"Well, there is that one little lead..." Jon whispered quietly, not intending for anyone to hear him.

"Okay, really? The fact you keep trying to turn everyone against me just points to you being the liar here." Mark uttered fairly calmly, though he was extremely impatient with the blond man next to him.

"I'm only trying to keep everyone against you so you don't attempt murder on them too!" Jon retorted.

"And where were you before everyone met up in the lobby?!" Mark exclaimed.

The two looked as though they would be at each other's throats, yet some form of fear kept them from attacking each other.

"Mark, leave him alone!" "Jon, shut the hell up!" Both Shane and Felix shouted simultaneously.

The two looked at each other, a somewhat harsh look hiding within their gazes, though the two knew well enough that starting an argument would only end up in more trouble.

Mark and Jon followed the others' example, becoming silent with nothing but malevolent glares as interaction.

"There is one other clue to go off of..." Krism spoke out against the silence.

"There is?" Felix asked.

"Yeah, I mean, there's the paper that told Joey to turn around. If we find the handwriting on it, then we can match it to whoever set it up, right?" She explained, pointing out to everyone something that could have been obvious.

"I didn't grab the paper though, did any of you guys?" Felix questioned, looking to his peers with hope.

"Uh...nope." Mark shrugged.

"I don't think I even touched it." Jon replied, trying to speak with a light tone.

"Not me." Phil sighed.

"Never mind then, I guess." Krism pouted.

"Wait. There's not exactly a lot of writing utensils in this place..." Felix thought aloud.

"Yeah. There's only one place that even has things to write with. Pj's backpack full of his art stuff." Shane gasped, his eyes wide.

"But...there's only one person that can go in there." Joey mumbled from his place on Shane's shoulder.

"Phil." Felix completed Shane's thought.

"What?! It's not like I stop other's from going inside!" Phil defended himself.

"Yeah, but you're still the only one that goes in there." Shane commented.

"No I'm not! After I left Dan's room earlier, I saw Jon exploring around Pj's room! He left as soon as I saw him but-" Phil halted in the middle of his sentence as he realized exactly what he was saying.

"Jon...?" Felix said quietly, as he and every other person looked at the man in question.

"You caught me...I set the whole thing up." Jon admitted, looking downwards.

"You little-! We trusted you!" Shane shouted loudly, enough so that the entire building heard his screech.

"I didn't mean for it to hit Joey!" Jon defended.

"Why the hell would you set it all up then?!" Felix questioned.

"I wanted to hit myself, okay?! I didn't want anyone to get hurt, or be blamed. I just thought this whole group was getting too comfortable with each other, so I framed an attempted murder. I'm shorter than Joey, so it would have barely nipped my head. I set it up while everyone was searching, and I figured I would wait until after we met up in the kitchen. I didn't think anyone else would get hurt. I'm sorry, Joey. I was just scared, okay?!" Jon frantically exclaimed. Surprisingly, his story as well as his apology seemed sincere.

The room was deathly silent once again. Something stopped everyone from speaking. Fear. Shock. Even respect. Whichever element it was, it sucked the words out of their mouths and thoughts from their brains.

"Let's get you back to the infirmary, Joey." Shane hissed, dragging Joey towards the exit while no one else dared to move.

Jiggle.

Jiggle.

Thunk.

"Hey, what gives?" Shane protested at the doorknob that refused to turn. It had locked from the outside.

"You entered the trial room! To me that means you're ready for a mystery! So none of you fuckers are allowed to leave until you piece together everything that has happened from day one to now, including who I am." The radio they all shared a hatred for spoke.

"We don't have enough evidence! Enough clues!" Various people debated.

But it was too late.

The decision had been made.

Quick Author's Note as to not ruin the small cliffhanger. This story will be on somewhat of a hiatus for a period of time. Do not be alarmed, I'm not going to turn into some fanfic version of Andrew Hussie: kill everyone then leave for about a year. No, hiatus does not mean completely stopped for a period of time. I will still be writing this, but, as you can tell, updates will be slower than they used to be. I've developed a small case of writer's block, and I'm trying to work through it. If you crave YouTube fanfiction, I have been added as a co-author on a series of one shots here http://www.quotev.com/story/5721860/One-ShotsRequests-Open/ Requests are very much so open, and I write all of the YouTube one shots (well besides the Cryaotic one), so if you actually enjoy my writing, feel free to ask for a Reader X story (Mention you're a reader of this here and maybe I'll put a special dedication to you at the top :3) There are also other fandoms written in there, which will be done by my lovely co-author who's pretty freaking amazing at writing. That's all for now dear readers, please be patient with me. Goodbye!
