Ryuji POV
Tomorrow is the day of the exams and it's also the last day that I'll be tutoring Toru, unless she asks me for my help. Just because I got first place though that doesn't mean that I slacked on my own studies, it's always nice to review and make sure that I remember everything. Especially since I've got ponytail trying to take my spot away from me.
"Ugh, math is always such a difficult subject for me" Toru complains
"Personally it's the easiest, since there is always a set way to solve basically any problem" I say
"Yeah well I don't have an iq of like a billion" Toru pouts
"My iq isn't quite a billion but I would say that it's pretty high" I say
"What is your iq?" Toru asks
"Oh I can't really judge it for now since I'm not 25 yet, my brain isn't fully developed" I explain to her
"I bet that you'll be even smarter when you're older, it's pretty incredible to think about all the cool things you could make. You might even be able to discover time travel" Toru says
"Oh I don't think I'll ever achieve that" I say
How could someone ever invent time travel with like an inverted Möbius strip or something.... I need to jot that down.
"Anyways we are almost done with today's session, after this is there anything you would like to do?" I ask
"Well if you don't mind I would like to watch you work on your inventions..." Toru says
"You know that we can do other things if you want" I say
"I know but...I kinda like just watching you work, you just look so...peaceful" She says
I blush a bit
"Uh yeah that's ok, you can watch me work" I stammer
We finish up the study session and head to the my lab.
"Hello my precious Kevin, Karen, Kepler, and Ryuji Jr." Toru says
The builder bots fly over to her and she begins to pet them all.
"I don't remember programming them to like pets" I say
"Well you better not change them because they are most definitely your cutest inventions yet" she says
"Don't worry I wouldn't dream of changing them, if I did you'd probably find some way to change them back" I jokingly say
"You know I would" she says
I start working on this robot I'm making called Alpha. I'm making him in so that until I become a hero he will be able to help out people and other Heroes with jobs. Basically he's a robotic sidekick for hire.
"What are you working on right now Ryu?" Toru asks me
"I'm basically making a robotic sidekick for hire named Alpha" I say
"Would he be sentient like how Arvin is?" She asks
"He would have to be since it's impossible for me to program every single possible thing that could ever happen" I say
"Is that such a good idea? Making a sentient robot and all, what if he turns on us or something?" She says
"Oh come on Toru who do you think I am?" I ask,"I'm not a child genius who's one of the smartest people on earth for nothing" I say
"I guess you're right...you do know what you are doing" she says
"Exactly" I say as I get back to work
A few hours pass.
"Ryuji is your friend still over?" I hear my mom ask
"Yes she is" I say
"I'm still here ma'am" Toru says
"Well would you like to stay over for dinner?" My mom asks
"Oh I wouldn't want to impose" Toru says
"Nonsense, you come over so much already I don't know how you haven't stayed over for dinner before"
My mom says
"It's best of you just give in Toru, my mom will strap you to a chair with her quirk if she has to" I say
My mom's quirk is called "String" basically she can make strings come out of her finger tips and detach them at any length.
"Well if I'm really not imposing" Toru says
We all head to the dinning room and I help my mother set the table.
"So Toru I must know, how did you actually manage to befriend Ryuji here?" My mom asks as she passes out food
"What do you mean?" Toru asks
"Well Ryuji has always had a...dislike for people ever since he was diagnosed as quirkless, so I want to know how you managed to befriend him" my mom says
"Uh well it all stared at the entrance exams when I asked him about his suitcase" she says,"then I just kept on taking to him while present mic was explaining the exams" she explains
"I'll be honest though, I wasn't really paying attention to what you were saying" I admit
"What?! But you said that you were paying attention to both me and present mic!" Toru exclaims
"I lied, I was thinking about what I was gonna do for the practical" I say
"Then why did you even help me out?!" Toru says
"Who knows" I shrug
"Anyways after the written portion is when Ryu told me that he was quirkless" Toru says
"Let me tell you I wasn't expecting the response she gave" I say,"she said that I was cool, can you believe that?!" I exclaim
"But it's true! I really did and still do think you are cool" Toru retorts
"Oh my she really did capture the heart of my dear Ryuji" my mother says
"Shush is mom!" I yell
We continue to chat and eat dinner. After dinner is done Toru says that she needs to head on home.
"Ryuji dear why don't you walk her back home, it's especially dangerous at this time of night" my mom says
"I was planning on it" I respond
I walk Toru home and the head home myself. Once I get home I head to bed since tomorrow is the day of the final exams.
Time skip...
I'm once again waiting for my class to come to the fields.
"Jeez how could people still be this slow?" I ask myself
Eventually the rest of the class arrives and we wait for Aizawa to come.
"As you all know we are currently going to be having the practical portion of the exam" Aizawa says as he walks over to us with the rest of the teachers?
"Why are the rest of the teachers here?" I wonder,"what are we gonna be fighting them for the practical instead of robots?" I sarcastically think
"As you now with the events of the USJ you all have experience a lot more then you should've" Aizawa says
"So we've decided that we are gonna change up the final exams" I see principal Nezu say as he exits Aizawa's scarf,"we'll be having you form teams of two to fight against one teacher!" Nezu says
"Why must I be right" I think as I start to pale
"Against...the teachers?!" I hear the brown haired girl say
"In addition, the pairs and who each pair will be up against have already been decided" Aizawa explains,"these were determined at my discretion based on various factors, including fighting style, grades, and interpersonal relationships, so here they are" Aizawa says
Aizawa the goes through the teams.
"Next up we have: Asui, Tokoyami, and Takashi against Ectoplasm" Aizawa says
"Dammit I suppose that greater numbers would be my weakness" I think
Flashback...
Aizawa's POV
"The next team I have planned is: Asui, Tokoyami, and Takashi against Ectoplasm" I say
"Could you explain why I'd be fighting these three" Ectoplasm says
"Well first off we have Asui and Tokoyami, Tokoyami is a long ranged fighter with a weakness for close combat, Asui will be able to cover his weakness well since she's mostly a close combat fighter and she keeps a leveled head during a fight which allows her to adapt to her situation. Lastly we have Takashi...he had shown a disdain towards activity's that involve working as a team, currently he doesn't realize this but his only real weakness in a fight would be if he is greatly outnumbered. So in this fight he will be forced to work as a team especially since this will take place indoors so that he can't just fly to the exit" I explain
"I see so by forcing him into being a team player are you hoping that he'll see how valuable having a team with you is during a fight?" Ectoplasm says
"Exactly, I also hope that this will help him realize that not everyone is out to get him in life" I say
Back to the present...
Ryuji POV
"Takashi, we should probably start making a plan for our fight" I hear froggy say
"Fine I guess that I'll cooperate with you two, but only because I'd rather die than fail this exam and ruin my perfect record" I say as I walk with them
We formulate a good plan of attack that mostly consists of us making our way to the exit gate. There is no way that we could fight Ectoplasm head on with the sheer numbers that he would have against us.
"Would team Asui, Tokoyami, and Takashi make their way to their exam area" recovery girl's voice says
We make our way to what looks like a mall type area.
"Just as I thought, we'll be inside a building so that I won't be able to just fly over to the exit" I say to myself
We enter the building and line up at the start.
"Remember to stick to the plan, ribbit" frogger says
"Speak for your self froggy I was the one who came up with this plan" I say
"Exam between Asui, Tokoyami, and Takashi against Ectoplasm...begin" recovery girl says
We make our way through the building and we arrive in an open area that has a lot of platforms
"I see the door, it's up on the 6th level" big bird says
Just as he says that a bunch of Ectoplasm clones come jumping down and surround us.
"Bird boy I'll cover you both while you and froggy do your little combo move" I say as I blast some of the clones away
"On it, Dark Shadow!" Birdy says
The shadow picks up froggy and throws her into the air. She then uses her tongue to pull big bird into the air with her as they both land on the 6th floor
"Glad that we made a plan before hand" kermit's secret love child says
"Yes I agree..." pigeon says
"You guys start making your way to the door I'll easily be able to catch up" I say as I active my thrusters and fly into the air
Midoriya's POV
"Nice, a plan that only those two could pull off" I say amazed,"the escape plan would've most likely worked on its own but since that Takashi was there he was able to make sure it went off without a problem" I say
"That's good communication, they are talking to each other. It may not seem like much but it's very important, especially for Takashi" recovery girl says,"it's more important to make sure that you're teammates trust each other rather than work together just because you are compatible" recovery girl explains
"So we were talking about these finals, and how each student is supposed to face their weakness" I say
"That's right" she responds
"So what do these three have to work on? I'm having trouble seeing how Ectoplasm's quirk is a bad match up against them" I say
"Oh well it's not good...for Tokoyami and Takashi at least" recovery girl says
"Huh? Why do you say that?" Uraraka asks
"Keep watching you'll see" recovery girl says
Ryuji POV
"So you've chosen to avoid a fight" I hear Ectoplasm say
I am currently flying next to big bird and frogger. When more of ectoplasm clones pop up in front of Tokoyami.
"Dark Shadow!" He says
The shadow attacks the clones but more end up coming up behind him. Only for froggy to take them out before he gets hit.
"I'll handle these guys, you two just keep heading towards the door" I say
"Are you sure they are way to many of them to fight on your own?" Frogger says
"I'll be fine I'll catch up soon enough" I say
They both keep heading towards the door as I fire my repulsor blast at the clones. Eventually there are just way too many for me to handle as more just keep coming and jumping at me and I'm forced to retreat and catch up with the other two.
I catch up to the other two as they arrive at the door.
"There's just no end to them" frogger says
"Let's just keep moving" the edgy bird says
We look into the hallway to see more of Ectoplasm's clones rise up.
Midoriya's POV
"Tokoyami is quick and can attack from afar, allowing him to keep his distance" recovery girl says,"those are all strengths but looking at that another way it means he's weak at close range" she explains
"Wow I never thought about his powers like that" Uraraka says
"And Mr.Ectoplasm's clones can appear anywhere at any moment" I say
"Takashi on the other hand is also mostly a long ranged fight but is able to do close combat if needed, he's also able to provide arial support for his teammates, he doesn't have any clear weaknesses but if he's overwhelmed he could be taken down" recovery girl explains
"And he's most likely to be the one that villains will group up on and take out first since he would be all by himself" I say
"And then there is Asui, she also doesn't have any clear weakness. She can provide helpful support for her allies but she's important in another way too, her level headedness and her ability to provide emotional support to her allies will be the key to them passing" she explains
"But isn't Takashi also really level headed?" Uraraka says
"That may be true but that's mostly for when he's by himself, Takashi isn't used to being a team player so whether it be out of habit or if he is specifically thinking about it he's always thinking about how to win a battle so that he alone comes out on top" recovery girl explains
"I guess that sounds about right" Uraraka says
"I wouldn't blame him for that though, he was forced to think that way since he's been cast out by society and left alone all of his life" recovery girl says
"I'm rooting for you three...win this exam!" I think to myself
Ryuji POV
"This isn't good, we are in a cramped hallway so I won't be able to give areal support" I say to the other two
"It's fine we just need to keep on moving ahead" Asui says
We make our way through the hallway.
"That's clone number 28" Tokoyami says
"Hey guys look" I hear Asui say
We enter the opening and we see the exit goal.
"It's the goal, which means that it's probably his real body down there" Asui says
"Excellent job getting past the others...but how will you do against this!" Ectoplasm says
Ectoplasm then makes a huge amount of ectoplasm that starts to form into a giant clone.
"Just try to escape...giant bite detention!" Ectoplasm exclaims,"I can't put out more clones now, but as long as I have you captured this one is all I need" Ectoplasm says
"Asui, Takashi look out!" Tokoyami yells As the giant Ectoplasm crashes into the platform we are on
The dust settles and I managed to get out of the way in time, but I look over to see Asui and Tokoyami trapped
"Takashi get to the goal!" Asui yells
Normally I would fly towards the goal without hesitation, but for some reason I feel conflicted, that I shouldn't just leave them behind like this.
"I...I...I can't just leave you guys!" I say," I'll have Ectoplasm distracted while you two come up with a plan" I say as I get ready to fly off,"I know that you two can do it" I say as I fly towards Ectoplasm.
"Why don't you just fly into the gate? You know all too well that you could just win this by yourself" Ectoplasm says
"I...I just can't" I say
I do my best to keep Ectoplasm's from watching the other two
"Dark Shadow!" I hear Tokoyami say
I watch as Dark Shadow flies towards us and starts to fight Ectoplasm with me. I look closer and I see the handcuffs in Dark Shadow's hands, I immediately realize their plan and adjust myself so that we can succeed. Dark Shadow and I fight Ectoplasm and all of a sudden we hear the buzzer go off.
"Team Asui, Tokoyami, and Takashi pass the exam" we hear recovery girl say
Ectoplasm looks stunned for a moment and then looks at his leg, on it he sees the handcuffs.
He gets rid of the giant clone and Tokoyami and Asui make their way to us as I take off my suit. We line up in front of Ectoplasm.
"That was wonderfully clever, I must commend you three" Ectoplasm says
"I am truly humbled sir" Tokoyami says
"Ribbit ribbit" Asui says happily
"It was all thanks to me" Dark Shadow says with a thumbs up
"Yeah...I couldn't have done it without you two" I say," Tokoyami...Asui...even you Dark Shadow...I thank you three" I say
"Hey you even said our names" Asui jokingly says
"You three may be alright but don't push it" I say as we walk off
Ectoplasm POV
I watch as those three head off to the exit together.
"It seems that Takashi has learned a valuable lesson" I say to myself
Ryuji POV
We get to the viewing room and we get congratulated on our victory. The rest of the matches go by and I'm mostly reevaluating my views on life. It may not be anytime soon...but maybe I should slowly start to be more open towards people...and I know just how to start
Time skip to the end of the school day...
It's finally the end of the school day and the final bell rings. I pack up and head towards Tokoyami and Asui
"Asui, Tokoyami...come here for a second" I say
They both walk over to me.
"What's up, ribbit?" Asui asks
I hand them both a piece of paper
"What's this for?" Tokoyami asks
"It's my address...tomorrow I want both of you to come to my house so that I can make you a better hero suit" I say
"I thought that you said that you'd only make these if you had a good reason" Asui says
"I know I said that in the past but after our exam together I reevaluated my views on life and I think I'm going to try and be more open towards people" I say
"Well this is certainly a weird way to apologize for being mean to us" She says
"It's the only thing I could think of" I say now embarrassed
"Well I don't know about Asui but I would most certainly be grateful for a high quality hero costume made by you" Tokoyami says
"I would be grateful as well, ribbit" Asui agrees
"W-Well you better be at my house at 12 o'clock sharp" I say as I speed walk away
I make my way home by myself this time since I wanted to get started on designs for their costumes as soon as possible.
"I'm proud of you sir for coming out of your shell more" Arvin says
"Thanks Arvin...maybe you were right, not all people will judge me just because I'm quirkless, I know that it will take a while for me to truly be open towards people but these suits I'm about to make are a start" I say
I get home and head straight for my lab.
Time skip to tomorrow...
I finished both designs last night but I couldn't get started on them since I needed their measurements.
"Ryuji there are two people at the door saying that they know you, it's this true?" I hear my dad say
"Yes dad I invited them over so let them in and lead them to my lab" I tell him
A minute later I see Tokoyami and Asui enter my lab
"Woah this most certainly is impressive" Tokoyami says
"Yeah it's really cool" Asui agrees
"Welcome to my lab, you can look around if you want just don't touch anything that looks dangerous, other than that you can touch whatever you like" I say
They both look around the lab and look at all the machines and inventions I have lying around.
"Hey Takashi what's with these roller skates?" Asui asks,"you don't really seem like the type to regularly roller skate" she says
"Those are my jet powered roller blades" I say,"they were an idea I had for a way to my me get around faster on land...but then I scraped them because I realized that I could just fly everywhere even in tight spaces I could just hover off the ground" I explain
After a bit I eventually take their measurements so that I can get started on their costumes.
"If you guys want you can use my training bot while you wait" I say
"Sure I could always do with a bit more training" Asui says
"I agree I'll also participate" Tokoyami agrees
"Be warned though when you use it you aren't allowed to use your quirks" I say," I've still have yet to make training bot that can handle being continuously beating on by all kinds of quirks" I tell them
"That's not really a problem for me" Asui says
"I know Asui I was mostly taking to Tokoyami" I say," you could use some meat on your bones anyways, even I work on close combat sometimes" I tell Tokoyami
"I suppose you are right" Tokoyami says
"Make sure you call me Tsu" Asui says
"Why?" I ask
"Because everyone does" she responds
"Really? I didn't know that" I say
"Probably because you never paid attention" she says jokingly
"No need to remind me" I say
I walk over and activate two training bots. I set one at level 3 for Tsu since I'm sure that she can handle it and I set Tokoyami's at level 1.
"Alright, Tsu yours is the one on the left that's set at level 3 since you are more used to close combat. While yours Tokoyami is on the right and is set at level 1 since you don't really have any close combat training" I explain to them
They head to their mats and start to train. I go over to my worktable and get started on the suits. A few hours go by and eventually I finish them.
"Alright you two I've finished your costumes" I say as I walk over to them
I look at Asui who's only mildly sweating and panting, then I look over at Tokoyami...he's currently lying on the floor panting as hard as he can and sweating so much that the mat is kinda soaked.
"Hey Tokoyami you're staining my mat" I say
"I apologize but I just can't get up at the moment" he says
I go over to my mini fridge and take out two water bottles.
"Here Tsu, catch" I say as I throw her a bottle
She catches it with her tongue and starts to drink form it. I walk over to Tokoyami and kneel down to hand him a bottle. He takes it and downs it.
"I must thank you Takashi for the water...but do you mind if I have some more?" He asks
"Yeah just got over to the mini fridge over there and take as many as you need, no need to worry about me running out" I say
"Thank you my friend" he says as he gets up and starts to hobble over to the fridge.
"Well until he's good how would you like to try your costume on?" I say to Tsu
"That would be nice" she responds as we walk over to my workbench. She takes her suit and goes to the bathroom to try it on. A minute later she comes out.
"It fits great and looks great" she says
"You said that you didn't want me to change the base design too much, so it doesn't look that different but I mainly just added some upgrades here and there" I explain

"I moved your goggles down to the side of your head so that they don't fall off as easily and so that they won't give you away if you are trying to hide, I then decided to add some reinforced knee pads so that you can now knee your opponent's without hurting yourself too much, same goes with your elbows, lastly I made it so that if you press a button on your belt your suit will start to heat up so that you can fight in colder weather now" I explain to her
"I'd say that you've done a good job" she says
"I agree, you've done a fine job Takashi" I hear Tokoyami say from behind me
"Well look who's back from the dead" I say,"now that you're alive you can try on your new hero costume" I tell him as I hand it over
He goes into the bathroom and a minute later he comes back out.
"Takashi I must say that I'm truly impressed with the design and the attention to detail" Tokoyami says
"Well it's what I enjoy to do" I say
(One again the art isn't mine)
"You're suit I kept the all black design while also added some hints of blood red, no offense but your suit was super basic. So I added come armor to your arms, legs and chest areas. I added some claws on your finger tips so that whenever you are in close combat you won't just be using your bare fist while fighting. Secondly I added a pitch black cloak that has carbon fiber woven into it kinda like Aizawa's scarf, this will also give dark shadow maximum cover while also not restraining your arms. Whenever you need to take it off you can just fold it up and put it in the three straps that are in your chest" I explain to him
"Wow Takashi I knew you were good at this but I didn't know you were this good" Tsu says
"I must agree with her your abilities are truly amazing" Tokoyami says
"Well no matter what I make I always put in all my effort into making it" I say
They take off their new costumes and and I give them suitcases for the men to carry the costumes in.
"We has a day off today to rest so make sure tomorrow that you both go to principal Nezu and register your new costumes" I say as I walk them to the door
"Takashi I thank you again for the costumes and we'll make sure that we put them to good use" Tokoyami says
"You better I don't make these suit for just anyone" I say
"Takashi if you don't mind could we comeback sometimes to train with your robots?" Asui asks
"Yeah sure I don't mind, you two can come over anytime you want" I say
"Thank you Takashi" they both say as they walk off
Maybe having friends and meeting new people isn't such a bad thing...

That does it for this chapter, Ryuji got some more development, he's still gonna be a bit rude to other people but he's gonna try and start being more open it's just gonna take a while before he will truly puts his grudge behind him.
