3rd Person POV
The air is crispy cool
Snow covers the ground and sleet falls from the sky
Voices echo through the night
"Go, go, go!" A young girl's voice yells
"We gotta get out of here!"
"HELP!" A scream rips through the night
"AHH!" Sadie screams, springing up in bed
She breathes heavily, putting a hand over her chest
Landon runs in with a bat
"What's wrong?!" Landon asks, holding the bat up
Sadie gives him a look before going back to concentrating on her breathing
"Oh..." Landon whispers, putting the bat down. "Hey, it's okay."
Landon sits next to Sadie and puts an arm around her
"It was just a nightmare, Sarah." Landon says
"Sadie." Sadie whispers
"What?" Landon asks
"You can call me Sadie, Landon." Sadie tells him, taking her hand away from her chest
"Are you okay?" Landon asks
"I think I am now." Sadie tells him. "Thank you."
"You don't have to thank me." Landon says
"People normally don't stay." Sadie whispers, looking down
"I can't leave." Landon says, shrugging. Sadie looks to him. "Aren't we like, best friends, or whatever."
Sadie cracks a smile
"Totally." Sadie says
Sadie sits there, staring into space
"Uh oh." Landon says
Sadie looks over at him
"What?" Sadie asks
"I know that face." Landon says. "That's the classic Sadie-thinking-face. What's on your mind?"
"Well for starters, I'm coming up with a way to get rid of that face." Sadie says
"Oh come on." Landon says. "Seriously though."
"It's something that happened in my nightmare..." Sadie says
"You didn't die, right?" Landon asks. "I heard that can be really dangerous to you in real life if you die in a dream."
"No, I didn't die." Sadie says. "It's just...I think there was someone with me that night."
"You mean the night you came here?" Landon asks
"Yeah." Sadie says
"Is that even possible?" Landon asks. "I mean, you came here alone."
"Maybe I didn't..." Sadie whispers
"We should go talk to Hope and Dr Saltzman." Landon says, getting up
"No." Sadie says, grabbing his arm. "Not yet. Please. I don't know what this means yet and the last thing I need is for Dr Saltzman to chalk it up as 'Sadie's imagination'."
"Okay." Landon says, sinking back next to her. "Whenever you're ready, then. Until then, I'll help you out."
"Thanks." Sadie whispers

Sadie is sitting up in her bed with a book and her comforter is over her legs
SADIE: I really didn't feel like socializing today....like at all. And apparently that was very smart on my part. But until we get there, something else happens....
"If I could have your attention." Dr Saltzman's voice comes over the loudspeaker. Sadie sets her book down. "Last night we were able to capture a monster here on the grounds. We have everything under control. But given this potential danger, it is with a heavy heart that I must postpone the talent show. Hopefully, we'll be able to reschedule this... unique event... at a later date. A much, much later date."
Sadie shrugs, going back to her book
Then, a few minutes later, another announcement comes from the loudspeaker
"Good news, friends." Lizzie's voice says. Sadie puts her book down, turning her head in confusion. "The talent show is going on as previously scheduled."
"Ugh." Sadie groans, slumping back in bed and pulling the covers over her head
SADIE: I never participate in the talent show, for either the wolves or the witches. It's just... not my thing.

Landon and Hope bust into Sadie's room
Sadie turns over in bed, startled
"What're you doing?" Sadie asks, sitting up and pulling her covers off of her
Landon runs over to her and grabs her head
"What're you--" Sadie tries, fighting him
Landon shines a bright light in her face
"Ah!" Sadie groans, pulling away
"I didn't see any trails." Landon says
"What are you guys talking about?" Sadie asks
"There's these weird slugs that have been making people act nice." Hope says
"Like scary nice." Landon says. "They've been transferring through people when they touch and infect them.
"I've been in my room all day." Sadie says
"You haven't come into contact with anyone?" Hope asks
"No." Sadie says. "I had a nightmare remember? I didn't feel like dealing with people today. And apparently I had good reason to." She puts her hands to her head. "I'm sorry, I just woke up, you're going to have to explain almost everything again."
"We can explain on the way." Hope says, grabbing Sadie's hand and pulling her out of bed
Sadie runs with the two down to the hallway
The talent show is taking place in the room next to it
Hope had locked people in there
They meet up with Raf
"I sealed the doors with a spell, but it won't hold forever." Hope says
"All right. These chains should help until we come up with a better solution." Raf says, handing her the chains. "I'll get the doors downstairs."
"At least we have all the infected people in one place." Hope says
"What are you three doing out here?" Lizzie asks from behind the group
They turn around to face her
Hope and Landon chained her up
"Have you two gone crazy?" Lizzie asks
"You've been infected with a mind-controlling parasite." Hope says. "That's why you've been so nice all day."
"That is not why I have been... hey!" Lizzie yells at Landon when he shines a light in her face
"I don't see any slug trails." Landon says
"What are you freaks talking a...ow!" Lizzie says
"What was that?" Landon asks
"Unchain me, and maybe I will tell you, you thrift store hobbit." Lizzie says but then she gasps
"I don't think she's infected." Sadie says
"Then why are you acting so weird?" Hope asks
"I'm not acting weird, I am turning over a new leaf." Lizzie says. She pulls up her sleeve to reveal a silver bracelet. "With this... I spelled it to zap me whenever I said anything mean. And in increasing voltage. Worst idea ever."
"No. That's genius." Landon says, unchaining Lizzie. "That's why there's no slug in her. She's been zapping herself."
"Then why are you wandering around here, instead of at the talent show like everyone else?" Hope asks
"I was looking for Josie." Lizzie says. S"he's been acting weird all day and then she just bailed on the performance. Probably because she's infected."
"We need to find her, now." Hope says

Josie and Penelope are about to leave when Sadie and Hope get there
"Not so fast, Thelma and Louise." Hope says
Penelope is about to use a spell on the two
"Icaeus." Hope chants
Penelope goes flying back and canes fall to the ground
"Found the canes." Hope says
"You shouldn't have done that." Josie says, creating a fireball in her hands
She makes her way towards Hope and Sadie
Sadie holds her hands out in front of her, ready to counteract the power
"Jo. Don't." Lizzie says, grabbing her hand. "This isn't you."
"You don't even know the real me." Josie says
"Then answer one question while you're saying how you really feel." Lizzie says. "Am I a good sister?"
"Are you kidding me? You're a terrible sister." Josie says
Josie groans in pain
Lizzie had slipped the zapping bracelet on her wrist
A slug falls from Josie's ear
"Holy god!" Sadie exclaims. "Those things are weird!"
Hope stomps on the slug, killing it
"Lizzie... Lizzie, I'm so sorry." Josie says through trembling breaths
Lizzie and Josie hug

Sadie sits at her window, looking out at the night sky and at the stars
She sees a shooting star pass and thinks of her brother
There's a knock at the door
Sadie turns her head around and sees Landon standing there, looking nervous
"Are you okay?" Sadie asks, turning around and sitting with her back to the window
"Uh, um..." Landon says. "I wrote a song for Hope." He says, pulling a guitar out from behind him
"Really?" Sadie asks
"Yeah." Landon says. "But...I don't wanna sing it to her unless it's good."
"So you want to play it to me?" Sadie asks
"Yes." Landon says
"Well, what're best friends for? I'm honored." Sadie says
She gets up and sits down on her bed, patting the spot next to her for Landon
Landon sits down next to her and breathes out nervously
He closes his eyes and starts playing the guitar and singing
Once done, it's silent
Landon opens his eyes and looks at Sadie
"That...was beautiful." Sadie tells him
"Really?" Landon asks
"Totally." Sadie says. "She's gonna love it."
"Thanks, Sades." Landon says, hugging her
He gets up and leaves
Sadie smiles
