LUNA WAS STILL OUT OF HER MIND, to say the least.
She was lying on her bed when her mind started to fly away from her skull, figuratively speaking of course. It was what she felt as she lied there, unmoving. For some unknown reason, the way Jasper saved her made her feel...wanted. The way Jasper held her made her heart hammer against her chest.
Her hand slowly made its way to her chest to palm the part where she could feel the fast beating of her heart.
What the hell is happening? Luna thought.
She wasn't one to like someone that easily. Definitely not her. She was picky and judgmental. Not that Jasper wasn't a perfect being but still, it was unusual for her to fall for someone that easy. Unless she's not exactly falling for him.
Snapping back to reality, she concluded that maybe she was simply grateful to Jasper for saving her life. That's probably why she feels this way towards him. All she has to do was thank him for it so that she wouldn't be burdened by this so-called 'feelings' for him.
As if on cue, Bella knocked on her twin sister's door, opening it enough to slid her head on the gap.
"Hey, I'm just gonna hang out with the Cullen's." Bella informed her.
This made the raven-haired girl shoot upright on her bed, her blue eyes widening and her pupils dilating once again.
Bella notices how dark it is in her room that it made her furrow her eyebrows.
"Aren't you past your emo phase?" said Bella as she waltzed into her room and pulls the curtains of her room open, letting into the room what little daylight they have left.
Her eyes fell on her boyfriend, Edward, leaning on his car at the front of their house. The vampire sent a smile towards Bella and she returned it before glancing back at her sister.
"I'm gonna go. Edward's here." Bella said.
But before Bella could even move from her position by the window, Luna spoke up.
"Can I come with?" asked Luna.
Bella raises an eyebrow towards her twin. "Really? Why?"
Luna climbs off of her bed with her gaze still fixated on Bella.
"Well, I didn't really get to thank Jasper earlier for saving my life." Luna said.
A smile stretched across Bella's face as she crosses her arms against her chest, looking at Luna with amusement.
"Luna Swan? Capable of saying 'Thank you'?" Bella teased.
Luna pushed her eyebrows as a scowl appeared on her face before she responded.
"Hey. Just because I have an attitude doesn't mean I'm incapable of saying 'Thank you' to the person who literally saved my life." Luna justified.
Bella steals a glance towards the window where she saw Edward nod his head, agreeing that Luna should come with them. Bella glances back at her twin sister.
"Sure. You can come with." Bella said.
"Great. Because even if you won't let me I'd still come with anyway." Luna said before she pushes Bella out of her room so the raven-haired girl could get dressed.

Edward was more than glad upon arriving at their home. Partially because the ride was unusually silent and mostly because Luna's thoughts were absolutely loud. However, he expects nothing less from Luna who being loud is one of her signature assets.
Wait 'til he tells Jasper what Luna thinks of him. It would make the golden-haired vampire blush even though vampires can't exactly do that.
"Here we are." Said Bella.
Luna's eyes look out of the car window from the backseat and see the mesmerizing glass house in front of them. She couldn't help but hung her mouth open as she admires the house. This was supposed to be a nightmare for Luna considering she doesn't like a lot of windows since she doesn't like daylight. However, when you're in Forks, the daylight here isn't really that bad.
Plus, this house is surrounded by a forest. It looks refreshing to wake up in this house and see the view of trees that goes for miles. It looked...peaceful.
As soon as Luna was done gawking on the house, she steps out of the car at the same time as Bella and Edward did.
The Olympic Coven could hear another one's heartbeat and they immediately perked up. A wide and bright smile stretches across Alice's face as she looks at a baffled Jasper. He wondered why the raven-haired girl would come with.
"Is that Luna?" asked Esme to her adoptive children, hearing the raven-haired human's heartbeat.
"Seems like it." Emmett answered.
A smile as big as Alice's also appears on Esme's lips as she turned to Carlisle. The doctor of the family smiles as well, excited to meet the extraordinary girl that is going to be his adoptive son's mate.
While everybody else is excited to see Luna, Jasper and Rosalie simply rolled their eyes at their family who seems to be enchanted by the raven-haired girl.
Luna, Bella, and Edward entered the house and made their way towards the living room where the rest of the Cullen's are stood, waiting to meet the girl.
"It's nice to see you again, Bella." Said Esme as she reached to her and embraces her lightly.
Esme pulls away and lets Bella greet the others before introducing her twin sister.
"Esme, Carlisle, this is Luna. My twin sister." Bella said.
Luna forced a tight-lipped smile in the hopes of appearing polite enough. She keeps reminding herself that she's there to thank Jasper for saving her life. Not to wreak havoc upon the family just because she wants to do so.
"Hi, Luna. It's so great to finally meet you. I've heard so much about you from them!" Esme said, about to hug the raven-haired girl but she was interrupted by Alice speaking up.
"She's not a hugger." Said Alice, causing Esme to stop herself from almost hugging the girl.
Luna nodded as she agreed with Alice's statement. "Yeah. I'm not big on hugging." She said as politely as she could. This was the family of the person who saved her life. The least she could do was force herself to be polite for just a while until she leaves.
"Well, I'm glad you let Jasper do that then. I heard he saved you from almost getting hit by a car. How are you feeling?" Carlisle said.
Before Luna could respond, Edward spoke up.
"Carlisle's a doctor." Edward said.
Luna formed an 'o' shape with her mouth while she nodded in realization.
"Oh. Yeah, I'm fine. Don't worry about it." Luna said.
Bella could only smile as she watches Luna force herself to be nice around them. It was entertaining seeing her sister become someone she can barely recognize.
"Why are you here?" asked Rosalie, her tone holding irritation that was too obvious to not be noticed by anyone, especially Luna.
Luna raises her eyebrow at the blonde before she responded.
"I didn't get the chance to thank Jasper for saving me." Luna answered.
She didn't bother to address Rosalie's harshness towards her and instead turns her gaze towards Jasper who stood behind Alice and approaches him.
The honey-blonde vampire was wearing a nonchalant expression with his arms crossed against his chest.
The stares coming from the whole family and her sister added to her anxiety as she neared and stood in front of Jasper. Luna cleared her throat and looks at her savior.
"Thank you...for you know...saving me." Luna said.
She feels her nervousness bubbling inside of her and her heart ramming inside her chest. Little did she know that Jasper could feel what she's feeling right now. He could feel how shy and nervous she is, and for him, that was amusing. He made the infamous Luna Swan all shy and nervous.
With that in mind, a smirk tugged on Jasper's lips, not bothering to say anything about Luna's thanks.
Luna notices the smug smirk that suddenly appeared on his lips and it made the raven-haired girl irritated, putting a scowl on her face.
"Why are you smirking?" Luna asked.
Because of Luna's words, the whole family turned towards Jasper and sees that he is indeed wearing a smirk which was incredibly unusual for the honey-blonde. Alice and Edward exchanged glances, knowing that this very image was what they saw in Alice's vision.
Jasper didn't bother to say anything, which drove Luna angry.
"Seriously, stop that!" Luna said, her voice raising due to how aggravated she has become about Jasper's actions.
"I'm not doing anything, ma'am." Jasper said, the smirk on his face not faltering.
The sound of his Southern accent made Luna's heartbeat fast once again. The Cullen's shared glances as they hear the girl's heart picking up its pace because of the honey-blonde, making them smile slightly.
"I hate you, you know that?" Luna said.
Jasper wanted to say something like 'Your feelings for me says otherwise.' but it would turn out really awkward real quick. So, instead of commenting on Luna's statement, he simply smiles, a soft laugh that escapes his lips that vanished as soon as it came.

While the Cullen's and Bella are hanging out, Luna decided to go out into the balcony. Don't get her wrong, she found the family nice. Though, a little too nice. It was also weird how the whole family was fond of her. Her. Luna Swan. The teenage girl that everyone finds scary.
They thought that it was cool of her to be so strong and independent. To be able to voice out her mind. To be able to not care about anybody's opinion. To be able to live freely, with nothing holding her back. And to be honest, no one ever viewed her that way apart from them.
To others, she was a spoiled little brat who gets all psychotic when she doesn't get what she wants. But to the Cullen's she was someone who was brave and outgoing and strong. Traits that teenagers like her rarely possess.
As she stood there, leaning on to the balcony, the cool fresh air tickled her skin. It was incredibly refreshing. If only she could stay here forever.
After a moment, she was becoming to feel cold. She usually wears her long-sleeved shirts or sweaters when she goes out. She thought it wasn't going to take her long to thank Jasper so she simply wears a shirt and a pair of jeans. Now, she regrets not wearing a sweater, not only because it's freezing outside, but also because she has something to hide. Something that she was unable to hide from one Carlisle Cullen.
When Luna tries to warm herself up by hugging herself, she accidentally squeezed the part where her shoulder and arm are connected, making her wince in pain. She slides the sleeve of her top up and it revealed the purple bruise that sat on top of her skin. It was obvious that it was fresh. That it was acquired not long ago.
"What happened?" asked Carlisle.
"Holy fu—"
The sudden voice made Luna jump out of her skin. Everything was so quiet until Carlisle spoke, which startled Luna.
She whips her head around to see Carlisle standing by the doorway, looking at her in concern.
"My apologies. I didn't mean to startle you." Carlisle said.
"It's fine." Luna replied, adjusting the sleeve that she rolled up earlier.
Carlisle, being the compassionate person and doctor that he is, couldn't simply forget the severe bruise that sat on her skin.
"That bruise looks serious. How did you get it?" he asked, stepping out onto the balcony.
Luna was ready to reject Carlisle's kind request of someone to lean on, but for some unknown reason, he gives off the vibe that she could trust him. That he means no harm and only wishes to make her feel better. What she didn't know is that being compassionate is actually Carlisle's vampire ability. It makes other people trust him easily because he is indeed a kind and compassionate person, making even the coldest of hearts warm up for him.
"My ex-boyfriend gave it to me." Luna simply answered.
Carlisle furrows his eyebrows. "What did he do to you?"
What Luna didn't know, was that the chattering from inside the house abruptly stopped upon hearing Luna's answer. Instead of conversing with each other, they eavesdropped on Carlisle and Luna's conversation. It was an invasion of her privacy, but they can't help but be worried about Luna once she answered Carlisle's question.
"He was forcing me to do things that I didn't want to do." Luna said.
Rosalie's lips parted at the young girl's answer. She couldn't help but remember one of her most painful memory before she died. When she too was also forced to do something she didn't want to do by her own ex-husband. Emmett notices the way her wife tensed up, making him reach for her hand, squeezing it lightly.
"What does she mean by that?" Alice worriedly asked Edward, who she was sure is looking into Luna's mind as they speak.
"What? What's happening?" Bella asked.
Before Edward could tell Bella what Luna said, the sound of glass shattering caused them to whip their head towards Jasper. It turned out that that he was squeezing the glass of water he was holding so tight that it broke, all while Jasper's gaze was staring blankly ahead of him.
He didn't need to hear what Edward saw in her mind. The feeling of fear, pain, and embarrassment was so evident in Luna that it made him furious.
Luna acted all tough and scary when around a lot of people. It's how she projected herself to them. But what they didn't know is that it was all simply a shell for someone who is utterly shattered inside. She wasn't always brave, outgoing, and strong. She wasn't always the tough teenage girl that everyone is scared of.
Sometimes she gets scared as well. Sometimes she gets hurt. And she felt those two things when she was sexually assaulted by her ex-boyfriend.
She didn't cut off a cheerleader's ponytail because his boyfriend cheated on Luna with her, she cuts it off because she found out that it was her who told the guy to force her. That was only the start of her revenge. What she did to them was nothing compared to what they did to her. She was ready to wreak havoc upon the whole school when suddenly she was kicked out and got dumped in Forks before she could even execute her sweet revenge.
Even though the raven-haired girl is tough, loud, sarcastic, and insane, she still has a heart of a teenager who is fragile.
Jasper simply averted his gaze on the girl who stood by Carlisle in the balcony and a new found wave of protectiveness surged through him. Then, a sudden spark ignited inside Jasper's chest that made him gasp, causing everyone to turn to him.
At the same time Jasper did, Luna felt something in her chest spark as well which made her gasp. She grabs onto the Carlisle for support as her other hand went to her chest.
"Luna, what's wrong?" Carlisle asked.
"Jazz, what's wrong?" Alice asked.
Just before any of them could answer their questions, the two suddenly lost consciousness. Alice was quick to grab Jasper while Carlisle immediately caught Luna as soon as she started to collapse.
"Luna!" Carlisle called out to her but she wasn't responding. He looks at the raven-haired girl in concern before he carries the girl back into the house.
Everyone was surrounding Jasper's unconscious body. They have never encountered anything like this. They're vampires. There's no way something like this could happen.
Carlisle entered the room with Luna unconscious as well in his arms.
"Carlisle, something's wrong with—" Alice said but as soon as her eyes landed on Luna who was being carried by her foster father, she was abruptly cut off.
"Wait, what happened to her?" Bella asked as she came running towards Carlisle to check up on her sister.
"I don't know. But the two of them collapsed at the same time. There's got to be a connection." Carlisle said.
