"How does this amuse you? Why are you laughing?'' I asked, trying not to pull each limb from his body. And he was still laughing. I mean, he had this adorable look on his face each time he tried to stop but he would ruin it with his crazy laugh.
Let me explain what happened a few minutes ago.
Rewind: 5 minutes ago
After I had closed my eyes, Leonard was unusually quiet.
He crept up towards me and whispered while I was trying not to faint. "You are so innocent and gullible."
When I didn't respond, he poked my side and me being the ticklish person that I am, jumped slightly and kicked him somewhere out of reflex.
When I opened my eyes he was crouching with his face showing signs of pain. Oops, my bad.
"You are really like a rose." He voice sounded like he was experiencing excruciating pain.
"I am sorry but you scared me. What do you mean that I am like a rose? "
He took a deep breath and said words only he could understand before standing up, leaning on the handle behind him.
"You seem so... so kind but once someone reaches towards you, you reveal hidden thorns. I am talking figuratively, don't be offended. Like when you decided to kick me."
Play: 5 minutes later
After recovering from his pain, he couldn't stop laughing. In my defense I was terrified of what was about to happen.
When I thought of my finally thoughts before the scare I wanted to laugh but I wasn't going to give in that easily.
''Stop laughing you chipmunk!''
He shut up after that but after a few seconds he lost it. Laughing as if I were a comedian did not amuse me at all. I folded my arms, giving him a look that could scorch grass.
"Did you really call me a chipmunk? Rose?'' I only call my friends chipmunk.
"Yes I did and stop calling me Rose my name is PAIGE," I said staring at his amused face that only made me burst out of anger. "You honestly think that it was a joke? You.. you chipmunk! I thought you were going to hurt me I thought that you were a killer. I didn't know that you would act like that. " I convinced myself to shut up because I had said more than enough.
I looked up only to see Leonard staring at me with a bit more than surprise. He looked lost in thought and I didn't want to disturb him. I sighed trying not to disturb him when he spoke.
"I am sorry it's just," he took another breath, dropping his left hand which was behind him giving me a guilty smile.''I have always wanted to scare someone like that."
When he spoke like that I couldn't stay angry, with his eyes shining with happiness and sadness at the same time. I just wanted to find out more about him.
"It's okay I over reacted, I am also sorry." I said but I felt like giving him a hug, don't judge I love hugs, but of course that would only remain a thought.
I sighed again trying to get comfortable on the floor, when my phone rang. I picked it up already thinking that I knew who it was. "Don't be angry I have a good excuse." I said.
''What are you talking about?'' Victoria's voice replied. Victoria is Vivian's closest cousin and my good friend. She and Vivian looked and acted like twins. They both had the same golden dark shade of blonde hair but while Vivian had blue eyes, Victoria had brown eyes like mine.
"Vic! How are you? When did you come back? Where is-"
"Whoa relax," She laughed while Victoria release a squeaky giggle. "I am fineee I got back today. Where are you? Viv said that you are suppose to be here a few minutes ago."
"Well, you see I am in a small or may I say big problem." I replied, not wanting to say that I was trapped with Leonard.
"What kind of problem?'' This was Vivian's voice. They really did put our conversation on loud speaker.
"I do not know how to say?" I said glancing at Leonard who was seated opposite me with a small bag beside him turning his attention away from a book to me. Who knew that he read?
"What's wrong? What happened?" Vivian asked again.
"I am...stuck...in an elevator with someone."
"Who?'' Of course Victoria would ask who I mean wasn't my life more important than a question?
"Someoneee." I said again.
"Who?" Both girls said.
I wanted to only say his name but I knew that they would ask if I knew him. "Leonard Kingston."
"What?'' Vivian said
"Who?- I mean what?" I rolled my eyes imagining Viv hitting Vic's head.
"Yes and I don't know when I will come out."
"You mean that LEONARD from our school, that hottie is stuck in an elevator with you and you are still talking to us?''
"Yes she means him and what does that question mean?" Victoria asked my best friend.
"I mean that she should be getting to know him I mean do you know how I wish that I was there with him?" She sighed so deepily that you would think that someone just proposed to her right now.
"Oh just shut up! Don't you know that Crystal has a crush on him?'' Victoria added.
''I do not!"
"She does not!''
Viv and I said at the same time. I was blushing at how bluntly she said it. That is her speciality.
"I am not talking to you Viv-''
"But you are talking to both of us especially since-"
I softly heard a lady telling them to reduce their volume since I remove the phone from my ear.
When I looked at my phone I saw the worst thing possible. No, not the fact that I could still hear them arguing but the reason behind that.
My phone was on loud speaker.
This must have been due to the habit that I would automatically put it on so that I could do my chores while talking. I slowly turned my head to the left and saw Leonard seemingly comfortable in his spot with a stupid expression on his face.
He heard everything.
