The morning seemed to move slow for Rose. Merlin had flown in offering a new present as well as a few letters. Rose was being cuddled by her large owl when Madam Pomfrey was walking over to check on her. She wagged a finger at Merlin as she made another animal disappear, "I've told you not to bring these here." Rose giggled as Merlin looked like a scolded child, he watched the two do their inspections before Madam Pomfrey nodded.

"You are perfectly healthy again. If you get any dizziness or feel sick, you come right back." Rose nodded before Madam Pomfrey looked towards Merlin, "Make sure she does." Merlin just oohed again before the two smiled, Rose was helped to change as she looked all too excited to leave. The moment Madam Pomfrey let her go she quickly left, being told to slow down as she fled the hospital wing. The moment she got out of the room Alice and Cedric was there, "Rose!" Rose smiled brightly as she hugged Alice who was grinning ear to ear. Cedric hugged her back before they walked towards Lunch. Rose was being caught up on everything that happened in the school, from gossip in the halls to the latest prank the twins did, Alice knew everything. Rose was listening quite happily as she listened to Alice blabber on and on. Cedric would pipe in a bit when Alice stated stuff about quidditch, "Harry is the new seeker." Rose looked towards them as she stated, "Good for him." Alice looked towards her before she stated, "What happened Rose?" Rose shook her head as she opened a letter Merlin gave her, it was from her mother. Rose read about one paragraph before she sighed, "Omma is worried. I'll have to write her a letter tonight." Alice paused as she looked like she remembered something before a look of pity crossed her face. Rose looked at her confused, "Are you okay Alice?" Alice patted her shoulder, "you have detention with Snape today." Cedric had the same look, as if she was going to a funeral. Rose shrugged as she walked closer to the large doors, ignoring the looks she was getting, "It's okay. I deserve it." Rose opened the door, Hanna Abbot waved at her welcoming her back as a few other students greeted her. Rose smiled as she felt so much better being back out of the bed.

Lunch was delicious, she had a hearty soup that warmed her chilled body. Her classes went well, Flitwick welcomed her back into his class before focusing on the spells again. Quirrel asked her if she needed any help, with many stutters that made Alice grit her teeth. McGonagal had tested her on some spells she had to learn herself, gaining 4 points on her perfect casting. McGonagal had asked her after class how she was feeling. The moment it was 5 Rose walked down towards the Potion classroom, the hall was freezing the lower down she went. Upon entering the class she saw Snape sitting at a cauldron, "Come sit down." Rose walked over and sat down next to him, Snape's leg seemed better as he didn't prop it up. Snape's voice broke the silence, "I need to make Pepperup potion for Madam Pomfrey. So I have decided this should be a learning experience, you will help me, and afterwards I will test you on your own. If you complete it satisfactorily, You will be able to leave. If not, you will stay until you do." Rose nodded her head as Snape pointed to the ingredients, she only recognized a few ingredients, powdered bicorn horn and some peppermint leaves. Snape casted a charm, filling the cauldron with water from the tip of his wand. He then lit the fire on a low simmer, "When creating a good potion. You must look at the ingredients, if they look good then the potion will be. However, it is best to have fresh ingredients." Rose watched as Snape seemed to be in his element, the fire of the cauldron warmed her greatly. He was pointing out how the peppermint leaves were fresh but the bicorn horn often was not.

He pointed out the mandrake roots, and even a few more ingredients. Snape set to creating the potion, Rose watched taking mental notes. Snape had scolded her for trying to write it down, "How will you make one without your book?" Rose enjoyed his challenging style of teaching, she was learning so many tricks. Snape had just shown her an anti sticking charm to use on her measuring tools so the powder would be perfectly measured. Rose nodded as she learned the anti-jinx for the boogies. Upon the potion being complete Snape poured the contents into a large container before clearing the cauldron and telling her to begin. She began by inspecting the ingredients, she looked for any browning of the roots and leaves. She tested the texture of the bicorn horn, upon feeling satisfied she picked the best of the ingredients she began her potion. She turned the fire on after filling her water cauldron, Snape watched her every move. She was quiet, as she focused on every movement and advice Snape had given her. He was silent, not expressing even a drop of his opinion. The moment the potion transformed into an almost fiery red Snape walked towards her, "Well done." She smiled proudly as she looked at him, "May I stay and help?" Snape looked at her before casting a cleaning spell on the cauldron again. He motioned towards the door, Rose stood gathering her bag before walking towards the door. Snape's voice made her pause, "Ms. Park." Rose turned her head, "Yes Professor?" He glanced towards her before stating aloud, "Next time. Try Levicorpus." Rose smiled before she nodded her head, "Yes Professor." Snape looked away as he began to create another potion, Rose left the classroom, ready for the match tomorrow.

Morning

The morning of the Match was bright and cold. Alice and Rose were bursting with joy for the quidditch match. Rose wanted to see what the fuss was about, while Alice just wanted to see Harry play. Cedric greeted them that morning, as the trio walked up to the great hall. However, before they could sit at the table Harry walked towards her. Rose's eyes narrowed as Alice immediately picked up the tense and strong glare she held. Harry went to open his mouth when a voice shouted, "Rose!" Rose smiled instantly the moment she looked towards the green table, "Rose. Don't-" Rose looked at him before stating, "You have no right to talk to me." She bid Alice a nod as she left the three in shock.

The whole hall became quiet yet again, the buzz of the match paused. The students were watching Rose walk towards the smug Draco, who was very pleased to see her brush off Harry for him. He moved over, shooting a glare to Pansy to not say a word, "If it isn't the honorary Slytherin." Rose giggled as she sat next to him, "Morning Draco, Vincent, Gregory, Pansy." Pansy didn't say a word as the other two said hello in a mouthful of food. Draco began to brag towards her, “Obviously you’ll be sitting with the winning side today. After all, Slytherin is the top house right now.” Rose shook her head lightly as she looked at him, “You brag too much. I’m just going to be sitting with friends.” Draco seemed unhappy at the soft scolding while someone else started to snicker, a boy just like the group’s age was laughing, “She told you Draco. Glad I’m not the only one to bring down that inflated ego of yours.” Draco looked towards the male with a frown and he growled, “My ego is not inflated Blaze.” Rose watched as the two began to lightly bicker as Crabbe offered her some sausage and a bit of toast. Rose was happy to accept it as she began to eat, the mail arrived a little later. Merlin flew down, looking proud of himself, Rose couldn’t help feeling a drop in her stomach. Flying next to Merlin, who seemed to be showing off, was the same beautiful Eagle owl she had seen on Halloween. It carried another large package as Merlin landed before her, the owl landed in front of Draco. Draco took the package away from his owl as he looked towards Merlin, “I didn’t know that owl was your’s Rose. Quite a change actually.” Rose shook her head as she explained trying to delay the time she had to see which animal he had brought her today. “Merlin is actually a sweet boy. He’s large but he has a large heart, don’t you Merlin?” Merlin gave a deep ooh again as he leaned against her arm, stealing a little bit of her toast. Rose turned her head to lightly chastise him before she noticed the present he had brought. It was the flower she wanted to find for her grandmother.

“Good boy Merlin! Thank you so much!” Rose showered Merlin with love and attention, Merlin was enjoying every second of it. She thanked him and patted him for as long as he let her while Draco looked at the flower. His owl had already flown off while Merlin stayed for as long as he could. Merlin was eating the attention up as Draco looked at the white petals and the yellow middle of the flower. Rose gently petted her beloved owl as she picked up the flower and placed it in her hair. Draco opened his package as Pansy spoke, "So what? He got you a flower." Rose smiled softly after she placed the flower perfectly, "It's a Mountain Aven. They symbolise longevity, purity, and innocence. My grandma adores these flowers." Pansy went to say something else before Rose looked at her, "Pansy symbolises loving thoughts, free thinkers, and remembrance. Your parents gave you a lovely name." Pansy looked shocked and had closed her mouth as Draco snickered, "You managed to shut up Pansy." Rose smiled as she watched Merlin fly away, "Sometimes learning your name does that. What was the package?" Draco motioned towards the sweets, "Mother and Father sent me some sweets. Looks like mother sent me a new quill as well." Rose smiled as she nodded, "Sounds nice. That was thoughtful of her." Draco nodded before he looked at her, "You can take these. I already have plenty, my family sends them often." Draco handed her ten chocolate frogs, causing Rose to practically bloom, "Really? Thank you so much!" She was on a high the moment she walked to the Quidditch Pitch with the Slytherins.

"Great seats." Rose had already met more than half of the slytherins on the way to the pitch, they seemed eager to meet her. Upon sitting down she could see emerald green robes and Scarlet robes on the ground. In the sea of green she was the only yellow, she could see her fellow Hufflepuffs across the field. The bright and happy yellow could be seen anywhere, they were mingled with the other two houses. Rose realized that there were some, if any, Slytherins mingled within the other houses colors in the stands. She felt her smile drop as she realized why so many students were shocked someone would go to their table. She understood why so many Slytherins had introduced themselves to her, she was the only person outside of their house who talked to them. Draco nudged her causing her to look up, the game had already started she had zoned out. Crabbe and Goyle were yelling themselves hoarse as Draco began to cheer as well, "Go Slytherin!" Rose smiled before she let her voice echo loudly, "Go Slytherin!" All the Slytherins around her cheered and patted her back, happy for her support. Rose watched as she observed the chasers racing back and forth, her head began to soar away from her negative thoughts. Draco, upon seeing Gryffendor scoring, scowled and booed loudly, Rose's eyes were glued to the quaffle and every now and then she noticed a gold shimmer, "This is brilliant!" Draco looked away before laughing, "You act like you've never seen a quidditch match before." Rose was going to say she hadn't actually but the crowd's roar was much too loud. Harry had gotten fouled, Crabbe was laughing as Goyle seemed not to care, only enjoyed seeing them fly around. Rose looked around before she gasped, "Harry!" Draco looked towards her, "People get fouled all the time-" "No," Rose responded worried as she pointed towards the rolling Harry Potter. The Slytherins looked up and gasp melded with hers. Harry was dangling from his broom, hundreds of feet in the air by just two hands, as it vibrated. Rose instantly covered her face as it rose more and more, her head was against Draco's shoulder as she hid. Draco was watching Harry, ignoring Rose's actions.

Suddenly, Harry's broom righted and he was flying down. Draco nudged Rose before the whole match ended confusingly. Harry had shouted after almost throwing up that he caught the snitch, Draco and all the slytherins were loudly complaining, "He almost swallowed it!!" Rose was shocked that Harry almost died even as they walked away from the stands she still seemed terrified. Draco was in a foul mood, "They should just have a wide mouth tree frog replace him. Surely it'll catch the snitch just like him." Rose didn't even laugh as she stated, "Draco. He almost died." Draco looked towards her as he went to argue before Rose stated, "I can't believe he stayed on." Draco seemed to resist the urge of complaining before he asked her, "What's your plan for Christmas?" Rose seemed relieved to move onto a nicer topic, "I'll be in Korea with my family and cousins. I do it every christmas. What about you?" Draco smiled as he looked towards her, "My family and I stay at the manor during the holidays." Rose smiled as she walked down the stairs with the rush of slytherins and hufflepuffs, "Sounds really nice actually." Rose walked down towards her common room before she turned towards the slytherins, "Stay safe you guys!" They all waved at her before she ran towards the common room, tapping Helga Hufflepuff before a comforting warmth coursed through her. She entered the common room and could hear all of her housemates cheering and discussing a party. Cedric seemed to be discussing with his teammates as Alice raced over cheering, "Harry Won!" Rose nodded before Alice and a few girls swarmed her, "How did you sit with the Slytherins??? They never let people sit with them." Rose frowned softly as she finally shook her head, "Alice, don't you think you should get to know them before deciding that?" Alice frowned before she finally stated, "Dorm. Now."

"What is going on Alice?" Alice closed the door to their room as she turned and looked at her, “Explain why you’re being so mean to Harry.” Rose sighed softly as she sat down on her bed, “Harry and I grew up in the same neighborhood, and went to the same school.” Alice sat down with her as she listened, “He was bullied constantly, and while he didn’t know it, I tried to stop them from bullying him. His cousin, Dudley, often instigated the bullying. You know I hate bullying by now-” “Yeah, you levitated Ron into the air for hurting Hermione’s feelings.” Rose nodded her head gently, “Well, He deserved it. I’m angry with Harry because he chose to befriend him, and didn’t stand up for someone after being bullied.” Alice sighed softly, “Rose, you do realise that Hermione takes all the spotlight from you. She is a know-it-all.” Rose shook her head, “She is still a person is she not? Just because people are bossy does not mean they deserve to be bullied. I just can’t believe she chose to befriend those two. She even lied.” Alice looked shocked, “What? Whoa-Woah, this is new. You never told me that.” Rose sighed before she looked at her, “Hermione was in the bathroom, not because she wanted to fight the troll, but because of Ron’s words. I was sitting with her in the bathroom when the troll came in. The whole reason we were in danger was because of Ron.”

Alice looked stunned and enraged at the same time, “So it was Ron’s fault you were attacked by a troll?! Why you were unconscious for TWO weeks!” Rose gently patted Alice’s arm trying to calm down her beloved friend, “Yes, it was. Did you want to know how my potion’s detention went? I never got to tell you.” Alice noted the change but she nodded her head nonetheless. Rose began to explain Snape’s lesson and what Rose got to learn about ingredients. Alice smiled as she watched Rose proudly explain how her potion seemed to appease him, and explain the fun challenge to her. Rose had just finished explaining the final color her potion changed into when Alice laughed, “You know, Snape doesn't sound so bad when you explain it.” Rose smiled happily, “He may be a tough teacher, but he is passionate in his craft.” Alice nodded her head before she sighed, flopping on the bed, “You’re right. I still don’t like potions, but I’ll try not to judge too much. Can we both agree at least, his hair is very greasy.” Rose laughed as she nodded with her, “That I’ll agree with you on Alice.”
