Mrs. Aiker hands Master his lunch—
a plate with three jellies,
freshly made from morning dew—
a Virideian staple.
He profusely thanks her
before we leave.
Mrs. Aiker beckons to me.
Master waits as I fly to her,
landing on her palm.
She whispers.
"Thank you for looking over him."
I look to her,
hoping the twinkle in my eyes
would be enough to convey my feelings.
I'll do my best
to continue what you started.
She gives me a look
filled with recognition.
My heart swells with pride.
