Yuna made a debut today after months of preparations, it's the highly anticipated debut of the year on South Korea, though she already made a debut in the states, it's going to be her official debut in Korea, entering the Korean official chart, produced by a Korean entertainment agency, even using her mother language for the songs. Yuna is the next big thing, the media said. Even though she started a little bit later than the others, Yuna's age is perfect for a solo career.
Media praised her for being patriotic as well, having a career in the U.S sure is everyone's dream, Hollywood is already talking about her, especially with her quirky personality, but she chose to start over in her own country. Yuna said her parents would be so proud if she has a career in their home country. Yuna already has fans in South Korea as well, so it wasn't so hard to make her album sold for just 7 minutes when they opened the pre-order system, 2 weeks ago. Yuna made a debut at M-Countdown and the channel gave her 15 minutes exclusive time for her debut stage.
At the end of the week after SBS Inkigayo debut stage, JYPE celebrates Yuna's debut stages at their office rooftop, every artist and employees are invited to attend the party. It is indeed a major debut success for the agency. JYPE received lots of CF deals, a bunch of events and festivals, and variety shows are in their line. Yuna wanted to participate in a full promotion for her new debut album.
Mina came to the party as well, as per Chan's request. It's sort of their deal, that Mina will always accompany Chan to a company party. Everyone's in the office knows that they're husband and wife if they come separately people would ask questions. Besides, Mina is Yuna's vocal teacher. It is still a mystery to Mina why Chan assigned her to be Yuna's vocal teacher. Yuna is a treasure to the entertainment but a part-time employee had been handling her case.
As part of their deal, under Bang Chan as a producer, Chaeyoung wrote and composed all 6 songs in Yuna's album. Yuna participated as a co-writer as well. Only Chaeyoung could indeed write suitable pieces for Yuna. Chaeyoung understands what Yuna wanted in music.
Yuna then greets everyone with a warm welcome. She thanked everyone that helped her in this debut album, she mentioned Chan, Chaeyoung and her managers who helped her the past months. JYPE office is a safe place for Yuna and Chaeyoung, tho not everyone knows about their relationship, but all the directors and people from Division 2 understand their relationship. Well it happened long before they went to South Korea, and they are engaged to each other, people know that they are that serious. So the office is always a safe place for them. There are no public eyes, and the employees are on their side.
The event was simple, just to celebrate the debut stage with some food and drinks, after speeches followed by a toast, they proceeded with mingling and networking. It was rare to see JYPE Directors and even JYP PD-Nim himself are all there and talking to each other. It's been a while since Chan and Mina met the big boss, so they decided to come and meet him. Chan holds Mina's hand to come and see JYP PD-nim, they chitchat. JYP knows the couple since Chan married Mina. JYP himself made an apology to Mina back then after making a decision not to disclose the relationship and their family to the public years ago while Chan was at his career peak.
Yuna then took Chaeyoung to meet JYP PD-nim.
Chan greets them first.
"Here we are, our highly anticipated artist!" Said Chan while Yuna and Cheyoung walked towards them.
"JYP PD-nim, Mina Eonnie, hello" Yuna cheerfully greeted them all.
"PD-nim hello, my name is Son Chaeyoung. a pleasure to meet you"
Park Jinyoung then making an o-face to all of them, "ddalgiberry? oh my nice to meet you!" Park Jinyoung warmly shakes her hand. Chaeyoung is timid. "It's nice to finally putting the name to the face, so you're the woman behind all Yuna's track then?"
Chaeyoung could only scratch her head. She doesn't really like to be complimented.
"Yes she is, PD-nim" Yuna then speaks for her.
"Chaeyoung is Yuna's fiance, Hyung" Chan whispered to Park Jinyoung.
"No kidding, seriously?" Park Jinyoung is genuinely shocked.
"But they kept their relationship low-key, don't worry," Chan added.
Mina and Chaeyoung could only both drown their face down, can't look at each other for some reason. What could be more awkward than meeting each other at this point?
They spent more time talking to Park Jinyoung, Mina and Chaeyoung could only silent at the moment and let Chan and Yuna talk to the big boss.
"Anyway, it's nice to meet you, Son Chaeyoung. I still wish that you could choose JYPE instead of going to the Music Factory. Though Dahyunnie is a great person" Park Jinyoung makes a joke to her.
Chaeyoung could only laugh, Chaeyoung knows that Dahyun is famous for being a nice person in the music producer association, everyone loves her.
"Alright, guys once again thank you for the party and Yuna congratulations on your debut. I want to work with you someday. IF you want me to write a song for you tho. Rumor said that you only your fiance to write your songs"
Both Yuna and Chaeyoung then denied the accusation, "No, no, it isn't like that. It's just because Chaeyoung knows my music better" Yuna said.
Chaeyoung could only laugh, "It'd be honored if you could write a music for Yuna tho, PD-nim, Sunbaenim as well," Chaeyoung said.
"For sure. I will go to my office first, then I will be back home"
"Thank you PD-nim for coming here," Yuna said.
"No problem, Yuna. Good luck to you"
"Mina, Chaeyoung. Bye-bye to you as well"
Park Jinyoung then excused himself with Chan accompanying him. Yuna then excuses herself to go meet the others. And there's only Mina and Chaeyoung now.
"I haven't seen Jihyo Eonnie everywhere," Chaeyoung said it awkwardly to Mina while looking to the crowd
"I don't think she's here. I don't think she wants to see me"
Chaeyoung frowned her face, "You guys are fighting?"
Mina nods. "Maybe, I don't know either actually," Mina said while drinking her beer.
"Jihyo knows about us" Mina spoke without looking at Chaeyoung's face.
Chaeyoung looks at Mina's face. She's hurting.
"It is her right to hate me actually"
"I am.......am so sorry, Minari'
"It's not your fault, Chaengie. It's not"
Mina is on the verge of having tears but she holds back, Chaeyoung wishes to hug her and tell her that everything is going to be okay, but she can't. Not right now. Chaeyoung could only stand there, looking at her and being there for her.
Mina then looks at the crowd and Chan is back from sending his boss down. Mina then excuses herself from Chaeyoung and goes to Chan again, holding his hand as a good wife should be. Be there for her husband. Chaeyoung could only see her from afar.
For some reason Chaeyoung ended up sitting down at the employee's cafeteria downstairs, drinking alone with her beer. People are just above, at the rooftop, but she needed to calm her head down now. Between Mina and herself, the only one who knows the rest of their history is Jihyo. And now Jihyo knows about them, Chaeyoung feels guilty. Chaeyoung feels guilty that Mina had to break off her friendship, sort of.
Chaeyoung put her head down to her hand. while messaging her head brow, all of the sudden headaches strike her head.
"You're here" Chaeyoung then hears the voice, she then looks up to the latter.
"Yeah, what are you doing here? You should be upstairs"
"I am looking for you, I am happy that I could finally see you, Son Chaeyoung"
Yuna said it while holding both of Chaeyoung hands, Chaeyoung smiles at her.
"Seriously congratulations on your debut, you made it!"
"Honey, you said it 100 times already" Yuna laughed at her.
Chaeyoung takes a deep breath and looks at her fiance while rubbing her hands.
"You'll do well, Yuna. I believe in you"
Yuna nods to her.
Yuna then takes a deep breath.
"I really wanted to talk to you, Kat"
Chaeyoung looks at Yuna. "Oh, go ahead"
Yuna seems hesitant.
Yuna holds her hands super tight now, Chaeyoung could only look at her.
"I just wanna say, thank you. Thank you for everything you've done for me, Kat"
Chaeyoung looks at her in confusion, "Yuna............... You don't have to say that"
"Thank you for trying to love me, Katrina," Yuna said.
Chaeyoung doesn't understand, Chaeyoung lost words for some reason.
Yuna starts tearing up.
"Yuna........Yuna, what are you talking about?" Chaeyoung asked in frustration.
Yuna then releases her hands and puts it to the table, she takes a breath.
"Let's break up, Chaeyoung. I don't want to see you suffer again because of me"
"Wh, what, what are you talking about?" Chaeyoung again asked in frustration.
"Chaeyoung, let's be honest, you never love me. I see that you're trying. I could see that. When I asked your heart, you also told me that you weren't even sure if you were capable of loving someone or not, but I took a risk to love you and hope that someday you could open up to me. That someday you could love me the way I love you, and when you said yes to my proposal, I could see that you're trying, you were really trying to be there and to love me. But you can't, Chaeng. Yuna takes a deep breath once again. Chaeyoung wants to explain but she is helpless right now, because what she said might be true.

Chaeyoung then looks her straight in the eyes.
Her heart sinks in a moment. She's clenching her fist tight.
"I remember that you once told me that you were so in love with this one person from college days, you really really loved her, but you are forced to leave her. And you said that you never love a person like you love this person. You said it when you were drunk of course because you didn't like to talk about your personal life to others when you were sober" Yuna stops to catch her own breath.
"I overheard Mina Eonnie and Jihyo Eonnie talking about you, almost a month ago perhaps. When I wanted to start a lesson with Mina Eonnie, Jihyo Eonnie was there in her class, and they talked about you"
Chaeyoung wants to say a word but she can only silence.
"And it all makes sense to me. Mina Eonnie drove all the way to Gangneung when your mother died, she even accompanied you to see her for the last time, she stayed with you. When I had a schedule outside, I always asked my manager to pass by your building just to see you, at least to get close to you, but funny that I always see Mina Eonnie's car. But I didn't think too much cause she's also a trainer in Music Factory"
Chaeyoung starts to shed tears now.
"And then days ago when I visited your apartment, I saw her car again in front of the building" Yuna stops, gulping her own words, "And I saw her shoes in front of your door, but she wasn't there at your apartment"
Chaeyoung starts to close her eyes.
"I am sorry, Yuna, I am............sorry," Chaeyoung said.
Yuna then wipes her own tears with her hand.
"No, don't be. You made it clear to me, Kat that you weren't so sure about loving me. But I pushed you"
"No, it's not like that, I............... I care about you, seriously. A year ago, I was depressed and you came and saved me, Yuna"
"Chaeyoung-ah........" Yuna holds her hands again.
"Can I at least get an explanation from you directly, please?" Yuna begged.
Chaeyoung then looks at her, Chaeyoung takes a deep breath.
"Mina and I, we had a relationship back in college. You're right, she was the very first woman I loved. She was my everything. But we didn't work out, I needed to go to the states and left her. A year ago, by coincidence, we met outside the Royal Room, in Seattle. Freakin' 15 years later after we broke up, we met there, out of any places. We reconnected, we spent time together, then we separated again. I wasn't sure if I was able to meet her again in any circumstances. But when we entered Bang Chan's office, It was a total coincidence. I................."
"Do you love her?" Yuna cuts it.
Chaeyoung hesitates.
"I..............I....I love her but I know that we are never going to happen, Yuna"
"I am so sorry, Yuna. I never meant this to be happened" Chaeyoung said sorry.
"Kat, l love you. And seeing you hurt is the last thing I want to see. I want you to be happy Kat, I genuinely want that. You gave me this world, you know. And I am happy with my career now, thanks to you. All I can give you right now to you is freedom Kat, as a payback"
"Why are you so mature at your age, Yuna? I really hate that"
"Hey, it's because I am an adult but you're always treating me like a child"
"I am so sorry Yuna, I really do" Chaeyoung looks at Yuna.
"Don't be. It's not like I can't push you or something, or it's not like you can choose as well"
Chaeyoung sees the right on her index finger and then she puts off the ring.
"Keep this for someone who loves you in the future. You deserve to be loved, Yuna. I hope that someday you'll meet that person"
Yuna looks at the ring and nods, "Yeah, I should be. I am done with a one-sided thing"
Chaeyoung looks at Yuna pouting.
"I'm kidding, I am kidding." Yuna laughs lightly to lighten up the mood a bit.
"Just so you know, I am a lucky girl, Yuna. To ever be loved by you. You're the sweetest thing that ever happened in my fucked up life"
"I know that" Yuna smiles at her.
Both laugh at each other.
"Why are you saying that things won't happen with Mina Eonnie?"
Chaeyoung takes a deep breath while looking at Yuna. Chaeyoung knows that she didn't have to answer that.
"Bang PD?" Yuna continued.
Chaeyoung could only laugh.
"It isn't like that, Yuna. I love her and that's enough somehow"
Yuna then holds Chaeyoung's hand.
"Will you still write me a song, Kat?" Chaeyoung looks at her and puts her hand on top of hers.
"Of course, I love to make a song for you, you know that"
"Thank you"
A while ago, after Yuna met Chaeyoung, Yuna fell for her immediately. Yuna knew that she should be the one who made a move to Chaeyoung, and she succeeded. When Yuna wanted something, she put her mind and her head to it. She's in love with Chaeyoung and even just 3 months after dating her, Yuna proposed to her. Chaeyoung thought that the girl must be crazy at first, but she meant it.
Chaeyoung was honest to Yuna from the very first that she's still dealing with her past and incapable of loving someone. But Chaeyoung knew at that time that she should open up herself. Chaeyoung said that she wanted to try it and Yuna accepted her condition. Chaeyoung tried to open up herself, Yuna knew about that. It shows that Chaeyoung cares deeply for Yuna, but indeed Chaeyoung never loves her. Chaeyoung will always care for her, but she can't love her.
Her heart always belongs to someone.
"Yuna, you have to know that I will always care for you. I won't forget about the time we spent. It was all beautiful. You made me be a better producer, you made me be a better woman. I am so thankful for your presence, I am so thankful that you love me and you never gave up on me"
Chaeyoung smiles at her.
They ended up with a good note.
