>>>DANIELLA’S POV
Saturday.
I woke up late. It was a lazy morning for me.
It was as if the whole week drained my energy.
*flashback*
“Did you like the flowers?”
“To tell you honestly, no. I don’t entertain suitors, Mr. Alonzo. Nanghihinayang lang talaga ako dun sa mga bulaklak kaya instead of throwing it away, inilagay ko na lang ang mga ‘yun sa altar at inialay kay Blessed Virgin Mary.”
He chuckled.
“What’s funny?”
“Honey, haven’t you read my note?”
“Classmates, since Daniella seems to not notice my little note this morning... I would like to inform everyone that starting today, I am officially and ONLY courting Ms. Daniella Montecillo.”
***
Hayaan mo na siya.
Don’t mind him.
Don’t let him ruin your day.
Ako nang bahala sa’yo. =)
***
“Julius, dito ka na lang muna sa tabi ni Daniella.”
***
“I may have dated a lot of women, kissed most of them and bedded a few. But I am going to prove you that this time, I am for real,”
***
Daniella,
I meant what I told you yesterday sa parking lot.
Please give me chance.

“Our last and the youngest bachelorette of this evening... Ladies and gentlemen, let’s all welcome... Miss Daniella Montecillo!”
“20 000.”
“50 000.”
“100 000.”
“300 000.”
“500 000.”
“One million.”
.
.
.
“Ten million pesos!”
***
“So, ayun nga... It ended up me rescuing the day... But it turns out, you’d rescued me instead.”
“Well, you know... It’s kind of my hobby to save you from time to time...”
***
“You still owe me a date.”
*end of flashback*
Too much of a week for me but....
I was having these thoughts when my mom opened the door.
“Why were you smiling, sweetheart?”
Nagulat ako kay Mommy. At ano raw? Nakangiti ako?
“Ha?”
“You were smiling when I came in,” she explained. “What were you thinking?”
Really? Was I really smiling?
“Nothing.”
“Well, anyway. You have to take a look at this.”
Mom handed me magazine.
“Congratulations dear. You made the highest bid.”
I still can’t believe what I am looking at. Sa front cover ng magazine ay andun ang picture namin ni Matt during the charity auction.
There he was reaching for me as I was looking at him. There is even this question written in bold letters saying,
Mr. Stevens and Ms. Montecillo: Are they going to cross the line?
I opened the page where the article was written.
Our pictures when I accepted his offered hand, when we were walking on the hall and even how our hands were intertwined, andito ‘yun lahat.
Nandito din ang photos ng iba pang bachelorettes at ‘yung highest bidder nila but a particular part of the article caught my eye...
What surprises the crowd was when someone shouted ten million pesos from the end of the hall. The crowd even went silent. It took a while before they finally found the guy and it was no other than Mr. Matthew Stevens. This adonic, young man is the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander and Marjory Stevens, the CEO and the president of A&S chains of hotels and restaurants around the globe. On the otherhand, the head-turner lady wearing a black halter dress is the heiress of Montecillo Empire and Montecillo Group of Companies. Ms. Daniella Montecillo is the only daughter of Asia’s well-known pastry chefs turned business magnates, Chef Nicholas and Chef Danica Montecillo.
These two young adults are both studying in the same university and they are even in the same class. Based on a reliable source, they are actually friends and can always be seen together in school. Could they be dating? Could they be more than just friends?
We can never blame Mr. Matthew Stevens if he is totally smitten by Ms. Daniella Montecillo’s charm and beauty. But one thing is for sure. These two have a lot of chemistry together.
Oh my goodness!
“Gosh, anak!” My mom exclaimed. “Ten million? That kid is really something, isn’t he? At totoo naman ‘yung nakalagay sa article na classmates kayo, di ba? So friends nga kayo? Totoo rin ba na lagi kayong magkasama sa school? Are you dating him?”
“Mommy! Isa-isa lang po.”
She just smiled at me. “Sorry naman, anak. Na-excite lang kasi talaga ako.”
“How could you be so excited? We know that I am already engaged,” matamlay kong sabi.
“Kung ayaw mo na,” sabi ni Mommy sabay upo sa kama katabi ko. “We could always find a way.”
“Bakit naman po ako magba-backout? For what reason? Nang dahil sa ten million bid?”
My mom smiled weakly. She placed her right hand on my left chest and said,
“Because of this.”
She looked at me and I couldn’t seem to understand what she was trying to say.
“We might have never told you about our story... your dad and I, I mean... But we didn’t marry just because your grandparents wanted us to. We got married because we wanted it too... Because we loved each other. I also want the same for you. Kahit pa ganito ang estado natin, I want you to marry for love. Our business comes only in second place.”
Then Mom gave me a kiss on my forehead and left my room.
A/N:
Hahahaha!
Please vote and comment. I-follow niyo na rin ako if you want. Thanks for reading!
